Newbie question here before I start:
Is Rogers One X exactly the same as AT&T One X? I mean,do they have exactly the same hardware?
I received a new Rogers One X but I'll be using it on AT&T network, my understanding is that AT&T One X ROMs can be flashed to the Rogers One X and vice versa, right?
Yes, if you super CID you will be able to flash anything meant for an AT&T phone. (Roms and RUUs) The only hardware diference is that the rogers phone has an HTC logo not an AT&T logo at the top. I'm pretty sure you will have to unlock it to use it on AT&T though.
Great, thanks!
Also unlike the AT&T one, the bootloader on Rogers One X is unlockable, right?

Yes, it can be bootloader unlocked through HTC Dev. I am not sure about SIM unlocked though, you will need that in order to use the AT&T network.
Thanks. Yes I understand that, I received the unlock code along with the new phone, and I've already (SIM) unlocked the phone.

You can't flash G2X to s-off yet.
In due time, I'm sure.

The bootloader is unlocked, S-Off refers to HTC phones. The fact that you can do a permanent root and install clockworkmod means that S-Off is irrelevant to this device.

On a particular generation of HTC phones (Desire HD/Inspire, Mytouch 4G, G2/Desire Z), when you get RADIO S-OFF you can soft-SIM-unlock the phone. This is not a general rule with HTC phones or any other brand for that matter.
Also on many of the Samsung Galaxy S phones (and Tab) you can use a different method to soft-SIM-unlock.
To my knowledge this is not usually possible on LG Androids. You would need to get an unlock code.
I hear that the rogers version of the htc one x is able to have its bootloader unlocked using htcs unlock tool.
Is this true?
Want to make sure before I go grab this beautiful phone.
Sure but unlock the boot loader, and root what then?
Run Titanium Backup? big deal.
Until the AT&T ONE X can have it's boot loader unlocked, CWM boot loader there will be no cool ROMs.

Care to back that up with a picture? HTCdev does NOT do S-OFF.
EDIT: Added a picture of my bootloader. You can clearly see at the top that although my bootloader's unlocked, I still have S-ON.
ANOTHER EDIT: I just noticed my bootloader reports the date as being April 2nd. Anyone else have the wrong date in their HBOOT? Or maybe that's not the current date, but the date which the HBOOT was built or flashed.
Its the date of the hboot creation

Have a rogers one xl unlocked bootloader rooted. Can i install 1.83 then root and debrand with no problems?
Cheers
Where did you get this update from? I just checked mine and it said no available updates.
hes talking about the att update.
no dont install it
Yeah the att one if i install it what will happen i dont see why i cant when att users can install the rogers firmware but that makes no sense why rogers users cant install att firmware? Weird.
you have to be s-off to install other carrier's rom.
it depends on your cid.
I believe rogers cid is
CID-ROGERS001
Either you have your device in s-off mode...
or you need the signature to match I think...
But why can att users use the superpatch to use the rogers rom. Can someone just create a superpatch for rogers users to use the att firmware
Why do you want att so bad? There's nothing in that ruu that benefits you...

Firstly, the superpatch is for the shipping ROM on the AT&T OneX. If you run it on an updated one, it will replace files with older ones and potentially cause problems.
Without being able to safely run the superpatch, you'll be left with many of the deficiencies that AT&T users experience vs. our Rogers phones. Like no LTE toggle, and probably that issue where youtube links don't open in the youtube app.
hey, i was wondering if it is possible to root my phone and s-off so that i can install custom roms. also, if i do s-off will.i be able to flash any htc one x rom, or only the ones from this section. here is my phone info.... software version 1.94.631.3 ,android v. 4.0.3 ,sense 4, baseband 0.18as.32.09.28L_10.103.32.24L , thanks.

You can definitely root the Rogers One X. You'll have to unlock the boot loader, root the phone, and then install TWRP recovery to flash a rom. There are many guides on how to do those. You'll only be able to install One X roms from this forum. The international One X roms won't work.

S-Off has not been achieved for this phone. But you can unlock the bootloader, root, and install custom ROMs.
You can only install custom ROMs in the AT&T, Rogers etc. forum. Our device is the Snapdragon S4 dual core version. The "international" version is a completely different chipset (Tegra3 quad core), and ROMs are not interchangeable. Not only will flashing a ROM for the "other" One X not work, it may also brick your phone.
My index is a good place to start looking for things: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
In particular, in the "ROOT" section you will find a link for the Rogers root method. The thread is old. So make sure you research that it works for your firmware version.
I don't personally have the Rogers One X, so hopefully somebody else will come on and give some more in-depth help with the bootloader unlock, root process.
Hey I have the Rogers HTC One x and all I did was unlock the bootloader via HTC Dev and then put a recovery (TWRP) via ADB commands. Then I was able to successfully flash a ROM.

Follow my guide (in my signature) for the Telus variant. The files attached in my guide is also applicable for the Rogers variant as well.
As redpoint mentioned, S-OFF is not yet possible but you can unlock your bootloader and then install a custom recovery to get a custom ROM with root permissions.
Make sure you write down your Rogers APN's before you do anything though. Not sure if Rogers needs two APNs like Telus does, but if you want to keep your default LTE/APN settings, write them down or back them up so you can restore them EXACTLY after you flash a new ROM.

I belive that Rogers only needs one and telus also only requires one APN.

Yea Rogers needs one APN, the LTE one. Which can be easily found by a simple google search.

My Telus HOX, works on one apn, however it needs a second one for LTE to work properly on Telus.
On Rogers, just had the one apn and it was or seemed fine to me.

Strange, I'm currently using one APN for my HOX on Telus for LTE. What is your second Apn address?
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
I agree, strange.
Another Telus member come up with it.
So just make another apn, keep your original.
Then just add,
NAME: Telus ISP
APN:ISP.TELUS.COM
APN TYPE: DUN

if its carrier unlocked from the manufacturer, pop the sim in, the end.
if its bootloader unlocked, you need to get it carrier unlocked as they are not the same.
Ok, I have the carrier unlock code, ATT gave it to me with no problems. Now besides that do I need to flash a different radio at all? Also because its rooted would that cause any other issues?
