I always liked this mod on my other phones. Only thing better is sweep to wake and we have to wait for kernel source for that. This mod comes from our brother EVO LTE forum. Can someone here re-write this to work for us? Here is the thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688556
I've been wanting this soooooo bad, somebody smarter than please make this work ))

This phone is hurting a little in the dev department. Not saying the devs we have are bad by no means, saying we have very few devs. Looking at the sprint Evo LTE forums, T-mobile One s forums, International One X, tons of custom roms and mods from devs ive seen for years. i mean TONS! Not so much over here.
DAMN YOU ATT and your locked BL. Scared a bunch of people away!
Notourious from the Atrix devs might be upgrading to HOX in the near future. I was speaking to him and thanking him for his work on the Atrix and he mentioned it to me.

From what I have seen, most devs don't frequent the General section. My suggestion would be to chime in one of the existing Development threads and ask if the OP/ other devs would be interested in the port.

Tried cm9 alpha 2 last night, it works on there, but some other stuff is broken
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Volume Rocker Wake works on CM9 Alpha 5
I've been using CM9 Alpha 5 for a few hours now and it's great !
The first think I set was the Volume Rocker Wake as the Power Button is not as easy to press when using most cases covering the power button.
To enable it, go to SETTING --> DISPLAY --> VOLUME ROCKER WAKE
it enables waking the phone by pressing the volume rocker EITHER up/down.
There is no way to specify one or the other
However, it works great ! I'm really liking CM9, my only complaint is the missing HTC Camera which was just amazing with the hardware burst (I'm still looking for a way to flash it if that's even possible).
Volume wake on CM9 does *not* work when the phone is in deep sleep mode, which is basically after more than 2 minutes of inactivity.
Man i hope this comes available for us! This feature saved my power button on my tbolt! We all know how many problems that device had!! ;-)

I see so many other phones with so many rooms and none have a the ability our phone has so why do we have such little development
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Because we don't have an unlocked boot loader yet. The international HOX has lots of development. Just hold off. For not having much to work with we have a great community going, and some pretty cool RUU's to flash if you want. For right now stock is enough to keep me moving though. It's pretty awesome stock.

I think the XL development is actually going rather fast. I was prepared to not have root for at least a couple weeks, we got it what 3 days after official release? Just sit tight, good things are on the way just don't forget the donate and thank you buttons when they do show up.
Are you f*cking with us? The phone has been out for a week.
Based on feature set, availability and price my reasearch has led me to this phone with the RAZR as a second choice(pentile screen, waker battery, no FM). The RAZR has better development though(incl kexec). I'm hoping to run ICS as a daily driver in the very near future and JB/CM10 down the line. What do you think?
Price-wise it's the best phone you can get. I myself owned a HTC magic and then a nexus one and can confirm that the build quality is solid. Webtop is also a great feature.
Rom-wise we've stock/modded ICS and soon ported CM10. But don't expect to unlock the bootloader. If you can live with it, buy it

Keep in mind, this is one persons opinion, but personally, I love this phone. We have 2 ICS Leaks, and CM10 is right around the corner.
It's mainly your preference, but i'd say just to be sure you want this phone, read all that you can from this forum.

Bootmenu is great man. With it, you can essentially dual boot so to speak. Check the thread out, it tells you ALMOST everything you need to know. Something's you can read around the forums and find answers to. I've become pretty familiar with it, so if you have any specific questions feel free to ask me.
Also others are here to help too
By the way, just a heads up, this should be in Q&A

Oh, BTW, threw a couple thanks to you 2 for great advice to the new people. Way to go!
If you can live with a locked bootloader I don't see why not, the specs are decent, screen size is pretty good and overall quality is nice. We have ICS (leak), a few custom roms, and CM10 is being worked on (I believe camera isn't working just yet). Mine is currently softbricked because I got into a bootloop and my battery is low , but that's easy to fix once I can charge the battery, which I'm being patient with and not doing anything risky and potentially harmful to the battery or phone. In conclusion, if the price is right, it's a pretty decent phone, with a locked bootloader (Always a catch)
Hmm. How about making a bounty or making a collection for a donor device to a dev? Just thinking out loud...
The only feature I'm missing that a custom kernel might solve is 2-way call recording. I think...

You won't be disappointed. This is only the second phone I've owned in 16 years that I haven't wanted to destroy after a couple months of use.
Is the lack of support from Motorola annoying? Sure, but the amount of support from the developers and everyone in this community is all you will need. Whether you stay on Gingerbread or upgrade to the ICS leak, there are plenty of amazing ROMS and mods to play with.
Just make sure you read through the forums (especially the stickies) and familiarize yourself with phone and the community.

Hey, I love the phone, but I really miss having a menu softkey to use for program settings. Anyone know of a work around. I am currently on CM10 nightlies.

Tell us what you like and dislike personally about your phone(not that there is a lot that you could dislike about this device), I don't care what it may be. Let us know how much you love or hate your HOX.
AND IF your gonna post telling me how much you hate the thread and that it's useless then honestly if it was useless you wouldn't of bothered opening it. So your comments will not be acknowledged.
By the way, you CAN repeat already posted comments, because it is your opinion.

PowerAMP with Beats Audio, and Google Maps Navigation, JB overall is awesome as well, but stock AT&T Rom is kind of disappointing, that's why I rooted
The only thing that's strange is Google Voice comes up with an error message when setting it up but still seems to work, it says my Voice Mail service is "My Carrier" instead of "Google Voice" no matter what Rom I am on, this did not happen on my Inspire 4G

I bet most people are, it has a lot of tweaks, more tweaks then any Rom I ever tried on DHD, well I tried ViperDHD but it was a little slow, but I can see why, Its not as powerful as the One X, Viper XL runs so smooth and stable though, I didn't used to like sense to much but Sense 4+ is really nice, I wonder what Sense 5 would be like

KingBeatZ audio mod with stock Beats. When I get a new phone eventually, more than likely I'll keep this phone and use it basically as an iPod because music just sounds fantastic. And ViperXL 3.2.1 is just pure amazing, but everyone knows that by now. And don't even get me started on the screen.
Dislike? No expandable storage or removable battery. Also, 1 gig of RAM isn't a whole lot.
I have always been a big fan of sense but sense 4+ running on viperxl is just amazing. Its mostly the flip clock that I like. The time, date, and weather are all there in a very neat readily accessible place on the home screen.. Battery life is excellent about 20hrs for me. And the camera and screen are about the best I have seen on any phone in its class. I had just bought a camera before I bought my phone but now that I have my phone my camera stays in its case. Hadn't used it in about 6months now.
I would say that there isn't much about this phone that I dislike, except maybe the lack of removable storage. I don't have a whole lot of big file such as music on my phone so 10 gigs is plenty for me. Also I've heard that with removable storage its easier to attain s-off

Not too many photos are out but I like the look of our One X better than the new One. It looks too much like the new Sprint EVO and the BB Z10, both of which I find ugly lol. If i could get One internals in the One X body, I'd be all over it. Let's see what Samsung has to offer.

I like the look of the One, but I still prefer the look of the One X. I'm not a huge fan of the dual speaker look, and I'm definitely not a fan of the missing multitasking button, especially since it was just done to make room for the stupid HTC logo.
I actually like the looks of the One. Its more square than the OneX. The camera is recessed instead of sticking out like a nipple. All hardware components have been giving a significant bump (unlike the differences between the OneX and the OneX+). I like the looks of the white/silver version but the black looks nice too. It seems HTC strayed away from the polycarbonite backing.
Ill be getting One...
Edit: I also like the flip case and the kickstand case that HTC are rolling out with it.
Yeah I actually use that multitask button lol. The new layout makes it look like the HTC logo is the home button lol. Maybe it'll be different on the ATT version. I really don't wanna have to stare at a big huge ATT logo however....

Here's another problem - AOSP ROMs won't support the usage of the Home Button for Multitasking out of the box. It could eventually be coded around for the specific device branch, but it's yet-another headache for developers that doesn't have any good reason to exist.
I won't be getting one.. Not only will it be released before my contract, but my HOX is broken, and I just ordered my Nexus 4 today..
So done with carrier branded phones, and done with HTC. While the HOX is one of the best phones out there, the company can just rot. They don't care about anyone but themselves and their money.
And knowing HTC, the new One will be superseded in 4-7 months time - and that would really pi** me off if I bought it.

double tapping home screen, but i believe this was just mentioned. it does give a lot of functions to the home button, but this is what's happened over the years with iPhones, too. I actually prefer it to having a number of buttons, as long as it doesn't get to the point of sacrificing available functions.
as for which one i liek better, i think they both have an interesting look. I'd be quite interested in seeing how the One feels in hand. I think the aluminum body may give it the slight edge in looks, but the feel of the HOX is tremendous, to me.

My biggest issue is that:
1. HTC is being inconsistent from generation to generation
2. HTC is further differentiating itself from pure stock Android for absolutely no good reason
