I can't post in the Dev section yet, so I'm posting here.
Can I use this kernel with ARHD 3.6.13 (Android 2.3.4)?
How do I reduce the clock speed of this kernel? I want my phone to run @1.2GHz because overclocking drains battery.
Thanks.
the first kernel you linked at, which it the Bricked kernel, can't be used on gingerbread, it's only an ice cream sandwich kernel.
as for the second kernel, faux, you can change it's clock speed by using set spu from here
if you update your ARHD build, to ICS, then you may use bricked kernel on it.
i hope this helps.
I'm using the bricked kernel now but. I'm 4.0.3. Once you upgrade to Ics or 4.0.3 you will be able to use it. But its for Ics or 4.0.3 so you have to upgrade from gingerbread first. Hope this helps.

I have recently rooted my sensation and installed the insert coin ice cream sandwich rom. However there seems to be a bit of lag while using it
Has anyone else noticed this, and know.of a kernel which works with this Rom, so I can increase the CPU frequency?
I have tried the standard xe kernel and the bricked kernel 1.4 but whenever I install them, they either do not work. Or my Rom gets held on the bears audio screen and does nothing else. This also happens when I attempt to install a theme from xda!

InsertCoin ICS Rom
The lags and other bugs are all well noted on Baadnews' forum as you will find. The ICS Roms are all in beta stage at the moment and so far as I am concerned, there is nothing you can do about it for now. Maybe in the course of time, improvements will be made.
If you want a "perfect" Rom I'd say stick with any of his gingerbread roms for now. I flashed the ICS but after trying it for tow days I decided I could not live with the kinks and went back to gingerbread.
Ahh okay. Thank you

This is because the ICS kernels are built on linux kernel 3.0.13
We have only kernel source for android 2.3.4 which runs linux kernel 2.6.14
Therefore no custom kernels will work with ICS at the moment

I am currently using the Bricked 1.6 kernel for MIUI, but it has the "Sleep of death" issue where the screen wont come back on. I heard that Unity is the best kernel for Gingerbread Based MIUI? is that true?
Where can I download it?
The best kernel is the stock kernel. How fast do u want ur battery to die anyways?

Us sensation owners are all in ics now anyways

I enjoy a speedy ROM, and it does help to have the extra 300 MHz. I am just looking for a stable Kernel that will achieve that OC for me. I have heard that Unity was a good one, any thoughts?
I am looking for help, please.
So after flashing 3.32 firmware my phone seems to be running fine. No bootloop no hang, but after i install a custom rom, when I hit the power button to lock the device it freezes. It wont come back on and I have to do a battery pull to get it working again. I have tried this on Virtuous rom, Vorbeths AOSP ICS rom, Mikes stock rom from the Sensation, as well as Hypersensation sensless rom. Is it due to the fact that my phone doesnt go well with this firmware? What should I do?
There might be a problem with the kernel cpu settings, perhaps too under volted or too slow clock during screen off.
Try mike's ARHD with Stock Kernel after superwipe.

Will try that. Ive been on stock gb and I don't like it
I want to run a AOSP rom to be truly stock can anyone recommend a kernel to fix this problem?
Bricked 3.0 and SebastianFM are both very good, check speed in SetCPU or Android Overclock or similar.
Best AOSP ROM depends on what you like, but IMO it's gotta be OpenSensation CM9.
It's weird how I was running the March release of open sensation and then when I upgraded to the aprik release it stopped working for me

Has anyone had the same problem.I was running cm9 nightlies with bricked kernel 3.0-v1.1 badass kernel that tops out at 1944.I had it set at 1.512-1.782 and it was so slow I couldn't even get 2 mbps downloading speeds.my sense Rom with a faux kernel gives me 9.90 down and 2.75 up.I can't figure out when the barebones cm9 nigjtlies Rom was so slowwww...

If think you need to go back to thekernel thread and read where it says it is for sense based roms... This is the 4th or 5th thread you have started today asking about bricked kernels and it is getting out of hand!
Please keep all your questions in one thread rather than opening multiple threads...
I completely understand and I apologize.

Ok... So i just flashed the new Mik version of sense 3.6 ics... And I'm slightly confused. The kernel version shows 2.6.35... Is that a modified GB kernel or a fully ICS kernel? A friend of mine said it's modified GB... And if so what makes it GB? (wasn't sure if this belonged in Dev or general so posted in general lol)

I believe that GB is all based on the 2.X.X series of kernel, whilst ICS and JB are coming from the newer 3.X.X series. There were quite a few changes in the mainline Linux kernel around this, which I expect is also true of the Android kernels (since they are very very very very similar).
If you haven't already then you should try CM9, it's based on ICS. Might not have the SenseUI stuff you like, but I found it to be an incredibly smooth OS.
The Sense 3.6 Kernel is a modified GB Kernel, just like the poster above me said. Most of our ICS Roms all have 3.0 Kernels. MikXE can have a Virtuous 3.0 kernel, but it has not been built.
