Best Kernel for MIUI GB on Sensation? - General Questions and Answers

I am currently using the Bricked 1.6 kernel for MIUI, but it has the "Sleep of death" issue where the screen wont come back on. I heard that Unity is the best kernel for Gingerbread Based MIUI? is that true?
Where can I download it?

The best kernel is the stock kernel. How fast do u want ur battery to die anyways?

Us sensation owners are all in ics now anyways

I enjoy a speedy ROM, and it does help to have the extra 300 MHz. I am just looking for a stable Kernel that will achieve that OC for me. I have heard that Unity was a good one, any thoughts?
I am looking for help, please.

[Q] Best ROM for TMOUS Sensation?

In my humble opinion, it is quite annoying how they aren't giving these ROM threads any prefixes as to if they were designed on foreign devices or US devices.
For the TMOUS Sensation owners, which ROM are you using? And why?
I have been using the Senseless Extreme 2.0 for awhile...it is lite but I have been noticing some lag and often the sliders on the lockscreen disappear and I have to slide my finger across an empty area to unlock the phone..
Android Revolution 3.0.4 is amazingly fast and stable on my TMOUS Sensation. You won't be disapointed.

TMOUS here and I have tried a few roms, from the ARHD, Leedroid, Virtuous and now on Coredroid. All have there pluses and minus'.
But I look for roms that still keep most of what I want, regardless of Tmous or not. If it has wifi calling and is mainly in English then I'll try it. So for coredroid with the latest faux kernel is smooth and fast for me. No lag to speak of.
Have you tried insert coin? I haven't but many others have said that has been the fastest rom thus far.
I'm on T-Mobile USA also, InsertCoin is by far the best rom I've used so far on this phone and the only rom I've used. It's fast and great support and gets updated many times a week. The dev is always in the thread helping out, looking for bugs and whatnot. Great rom, I'll be using it until I get bored of Sense, and hopefully then Badnewz will start also dev-ing asop roms too.
Most ROMs should have no problem running on TMOUS phones. Some people have problems with radios, but you can always try different ones. I've been using InsertCoin for weeks with the recommended radio with no problems even though it's been based off the European ROM. Flash different ROMs until you find the one that works best for you. There are some based off the TMOUS ROM if you want to start there.
Insertcoin 2.4.2 + 0.1.2 faux kernal. thats perfect. smooth and fast. then flash t6he latest radio. sure work with tmous sensation. enjoy.

Are you using the NoHz or the JRCU edition of the faux kernel?
Battery life
Those who have tried multiple ROMs which would you say gives you the best battery life?

Senseless Extreme 2.5 and like it's speed, lite memory usage, and no bloat!

Flash JRCU 1.56ghz work very fast and stable (no bug) on my lovely sensation !!
Frankinstine and eavleblood are 2 tmo based Roms. I'm using frankinstine right now and so far so good. It was also updated today with some nice features. Havnt had a chance to flash update yet
ARHD 3.0.4 with faux NoHZ 0.1.2 1.56 kernel.
Absolutely smooth and fast, no lag and very good battery life.
I've tried several, but by far, in my opinion, the best two are InsertCoin and Android Revolution HD 3.0.4. The new Faux kernel makes both of these run fast and smooth.
Honestly I still can't decide which of the two I like more. Try them out.

I'm using Android Revolution HD 3.5.0 and want to try other roms. If not satisfied I'll go back to stock rom.
I don't care too much for HTC Sense - AOSP guy myself. The XboarderMOD 1.0.5 ROM - which is based on CM7 is pretty cool. Phone feels so fast with sense gone.
yep, u got to luv getting rid of sense/bloat for speed!
I'm on LEEDROiD myself. Since he's UK based, I just gotta change the gps.conf and change the horrendous lockring, then I'm good to go. Took a look at the other ROMs, but saw no reason to switch. Tried CM7, but came back after a week.
Good battery life, really stable, works really well in general. It's what Sense should have been imo.

best Kernel for MIUI?

I'm switching from ICS to the latest MIUI rom that was just released.
Since the kernel is clocked at 1.7 I need to use a different one.
So whats the best one for it? Im aiming for battery life and I dont need more than 1.2 or 1.5.
Just download system tuner or setCPU from the market and adjust the clock speeds. The trinity kernel works very well with miui and the sensation.

[Q] Would you be able to use the stock ICS ROM on the Sensation

Would it be possible to use the to use the stock ICS ROM on the Sensation?
Just plain ICS like on the Galaxy Nexus...
Just noob question but I do like the look of my friends Nexus.
Virtuous Quattro is the closest you'll get right now.
Ah okay thank you

ICS Rom for the Sensation 4G
Virtuous Quattro is a great ICS rom for the Sensation but i like OnceICS. It is in version 1.0.7z and it is running Android 4.0.3. The only issues i have is WiFi calling and I have had 1 random reboot.
does any of them support custom kernels yet
On all of the different ICS roms that I have looked at, SebastionFM's kernel is the only hacked kernel that is mentioned. However, it seems to have stability issues, especially on the 4.0.3 builds. So, it is pretty much recommended to keep the kernel stock.
Plus, they run pretty good stock anyways. At least insertCoin does, which is what I have used 98% of the time so far.
Hope I helped
Thank you to all who helped!

[Q] HTC Stock Kernel

So after months of using Faux and Bricked kernels, I want to go back to the stock HTC kernel because I honestly feel like it gives the best battery. I'm using ARHD 3.6.13 (Gingerbread) and I don't really like the Gingerbread Insert Coin ROMs too much. Does anybody know how I can flash the stock HTC kernel for my phone?
look in SebastianFM's kernel thread

[Q] Questions regarding kernels

I can't post in the Dev section yet, so I'm posting here.
Can I use this kernel with ARHD 3.6.13 (Android 2.3.4)?
How do I reduce the clock speed of this kernel? I want my phone to run @1.2GHz because overclocking drains battery.
Thanks.
the first kernel you linked at, which it the Bricked kernel, can't be used on gingerbread, it's only an ice cream sandwich kernel.
as for the second kernel, faux, you can change it's clock speed by using set spu from here
if you update your ARHD build, to ICS, then you may use bricked kernel on it.
i hope this helps.
I'm using the bricked kernel now but. I'm 4.0.3. Once you upgrade to Ics or 4.0.3 you will be able to use it. But its for Ics or 4.0.3 so you have to upgrade from gingerbread first. Hope this helps.
