nah not all have better battery backup. CM roms like sonyHD,Experia Gamerz edition,OJ mod had comparatively lower battery life. It depends from rom to rom and of course on USAGE.

hey im new in the this section cuz this is my moms phone and she needs an upgrade
i didn't find some answers to my questions so i will ask them here
1.Cm 7.2 is bugless?
2.what is the best ClockworkMod based recovery for this phone?
3.what Rom could you suggest me ?(battery life is the most important thing)
Don't mess with your moms phone.
Stock rom is the best option for people who only use it as a phone (calls/texts/light internet surfing) so unless she wants to change a new theme everyday, game all day long in [insertdemandinggame] or need 70 apps at one time, you don't need any other OS on it other that stock
here are your answers
1) yes stable release of cm7.2 is bugless , nightly version may or may not have bugs.
2) best version of clockwork mod is 5.0.2.7, i recommend amonra
3)for battery life cm7 is good or you can check oxyen gingerbread(by popdog)
hope i helped

I recommend you use the Stock Rom which you are using right now!!
Root it.. uninstall all system aaps which your mom doesnt use!!
Its a smartphone so dont think of getting battery backup more than
1nhalf day.
Save battery by lowering screen brightness.
Keep WIFI / 3g / 2g / GPS.. OFF.. till you need them.

CM10 battery life problem

I recently flashed Dhiru's CM10 ROM on my galaxy sl and I was experiencing battery life problems(too low). I researched and found out that I had to wait for a few battery cycles. Unfortunately that hasn't worked out for me and the problem continues. Is there any solution to this??

[Q] ROM for a App Dev & Daily Workhorse Phone

Hi all,
its been many months since I left the scene of Android OS/App. Development.
Now that I am back I want to upgrade my HTC Desire S' stock GB 2.3.3 ROM.
I have a rooted desire S with HBoot downgraded to 0.98.2000 (PG8810000) . ready to roll.
But as I went through the forums I felt a lil' disturbance in the air with so many ROM's and as I am wanting to have a JB based ROM into my phone which I use to test Android based apps daily evening which I develop. so I am need of a fairly stable ROM.
Also, I would need the help of the community to setup that ROM. I would also like to have a decent battery life (atleast better than my current HTC stock sucko )
So, can you guys recommend me some ROM?; and post me a lil' how to? just to refresh my memory. I think Andromadus (excuse my spelling) is looking pretty awesome...though am having my eyes on Jellytime-AROMA too..(is it a copy of Ubuntu? or just the lock screen?)
Also, I am having Touch Recovery, and a backup software installed in my phone.(forgot the name :¦ )
Thanks
Best recovery is 4ext,cwm does and can cause issues with bad flashes. Andromadus CM10.1 is a superb rom, as a jb rom it would be my choice hands down
"Unix is user-friendly. It's just very selective about who its friends are."
Having a lot of fun using this rom. Stability wise its great - Ds is my main phone and have had no problems with it - and jb like you ask for

Yeah..I actually forgot the name. I do have* 4EXT touch v.2.4.1 installed.
Also, I read somewhere in the forums that we need to flash a downgraded/upgraded version of the *Radio* ? Is it true? :|
What about the GPS..location services are they working out of the box?

err.. CM10 is which build from Flinny?
AFAIK..Build 133 is CM10 (android 4.1) and build 13 is CM10.1 (android 4.2)
So, you're pointing me towards CM10 i.e build 133 (android 4.1) from Flinny's?
Is that correct?
CM10.1 is more stable and i had good battery out of it

Yes, CM 10.1 (build 13) is IMO still not stable for daily use, however you can try it out yourself. I'd stick with CM10, again if it was nice with the battery.

On idle mode, it drops roughly 2% in a minute, with Wi-fi, 3G, Bluetooth and GPS off. I never tried letting it discharge completely, because I switched to Fallout as I need a longer battery life for personal use.
I've not used build 13 but build 12 was my daily for weeks with no issues of battery, wifi and gps on all the time

Well, I see that kind of battery drain only when using the phone actively. In idle mode with WIFI and 3G on, without using the phone for more than the occasional e-mail check every other hour it'll last up to 2 days.

[Q] Best rom for Ville C2 ? JB

Thats why "which is the best rom" questions arent allowed here.

if you want to stay on stock: viper one s 2.2.0 with latest bricked kernel (I got 3-4%/h drain with normal usage, whatsapp, fb, xda, music)
if you want to switch to aosp: slimbean/latest cm10.1 release/deviantx with latest bubba vn3 kernel
thats my opinion
I also would recommend Viper!

I know it's been almost a year since your last post, but what are your thoughts on these 3 roms now?
I got this phone not so long ago, tried a few kitkat roms that weren't fully functional, so ended up choosing unofficial cm10.2. But after 2 months, I'm still not fully satisfied with stability and especially battery life. What is your current rom now, and otherwise which one is the most stable/has best battery life?

One thing I want to clear is , SOT depends on our personal usage , apps installed , heavy app usage etc. If I am getting 7 hours SOT means it doesn't mean you will also get 7 ..?
I was on stock till Feb security patch ..then moved to custom roms ..
As per my usage , I believe I am surely getting better than stock.
Already flashed many roms ..if you want better battery ,go for pixel experience ROM .

I think battery backup is an Indian thing. I never understood the reference.
Anyway the best way to know is try everything and where you think it's better. Small tip: everyone uses their phones in their own ways (different apps, different usage patterns, different network signal, etc.) Don't believe something until you try it
No offence but how do You guys backup Your battery?
And what do You backup from the battery... Yesterdays usage??
