[Q] Best rom for Ville C2 ? JB - HTC One S

Which is the best JB rom for our phone

Its very individual,
Thats why "which is the best rom" questions arent allowed here.
Everyone habe other needs.
Some likes aosp look and feel,
Some likes the stock features..
Best way would be to try it on your own.
Or tell us your needs or your focusses, so we can recommend you one.
Your question is like, who makes the best music..

if you want to stay on stock: viper one s 2.2.0 with latest bricked kernel (I got 3-4%/h drain with normal usage, whatsapp, fb, xda, music)
if you want to switch to aosp: slimbean/latest cm10.1 release/deviantx with latest bubba vn3 kernel
thats my opinion

I also would recommend Viper!

i was going to install the trickdroid meh its sounds like viper rom is faster and more stable thanks for the input guys

both roms are stable.
but trickdroid is more stock orientated (look&feel)
viper has more customizations like center clock, battery % etc.

I know it's been almost a year since your last post, but what are your thoughts on these 3 roms now?
I got this phone not so long ago, tried a few kitkat roms that weren't fully functional, so ended up choosing unofficial cm10.2. But after 2 months, I'm still not fully satisfied with stability and especially battery life. What is your current rom now, and otherwise which one is the most stable/has best battery life?

That's the rom I'm using already. I'm still getting random reboots, lags when using browser, it's pretty good but not stable enough for me. I was hoping there was an aosp (even 4.1 I wouldn't mind) that is perfectly stable but it seems that it isnt't the case.

Which ICS rom is best???

Looking to get a few opinions from ppl that flash multiple roms to their devices. Looking for something that is stable, not overclocked, and has the least amount of reported issues. Thanks in advance!!
i am currently using insertcoin 4.6.1 and it is very stable and fast also without overclocking it
Android Revolution HD is great, very fast, very stable and I've had no issues so far.
The Android Revolution HD ICS is a really good ROM. I just recently flashed it and love it. It's fast and stable. I performed the benchmark test with the ROM and came up around 2900-3000 compared to the previous 1900s.
I will second Insertcoin. The only issue is the inbuilt WiFi tether being broken, but I believe that is an issue with ALL current ICS roms. Barnacle works wonders.
Flashing Android revolution as we speak.. I thought it was supposed to give an option to select 1.2 or 1.5?
InsertCoin and ARHD are both extremely popular options. My suggestion is to try them both and see which one works best for you. Give each one a few days to get the kinks worked out and always make sure you do a full backup and Super Wipe every time you change ROMs!

I had the same thoughts as you when I was using Clockwork Mod to flash roms, it never asked anything about the install. Now, I use Touch Recovery and I have yess/no options when I flash roms now
Its really difficult to find a fully compatible ROM for your phone, as what happen to mine tried the popular one which i got a lot of issues some people not, so I tried other. Every ROM's claiming fast/stable. To be fair you can to try each for yourself which I did and happy with what i have now. Different people have thier own choices depends on what their need. Go out and explore there now 44+ ROMS you can narrow down which is more popular and depends on their feedbacks. Goodluck.
If you would like to try non-sense I recommend miui v4 or either CM9 kang. I've had zero issues with either.

Yeah, it will ask you but only if you have installed 4Ext recovery instead of clock work mod. In my experience 4Ext is a much more complete recovery.

+1
But super cid is not needed.
No issues so far and hotspot works perfectly.
insertcoin rom is the best for me
I've been running Android Revolution HD 5.3 since January. This was my first experience with a non-stock android device as I bought the device configured in that way. I was very happy with it, but couldn't get HTC Sync to transfer my contacts and found it a little laggy, other then that it was great. The best advice I was given to fix my issue was to reload/update the ROM. Mike actually uploaded his latest version 6.4.0 while I was downloading 6.3.1 so I scrapped that and went with 6.4.0 since it was based on the Final HTC RUU 3.32.401.3.
Its only been a day so its not much of a test, but so far its way better and faster then the old ROM even when it was fresh. HTC sync worked flawlessly. the response time is as close to instant as you can get. You need to use 4ext recovery to have the option to use the 1.5Ghz kernel or load the Sony Bravia engine. I chose both options and have seen no issues, only improvements.
Like everyone said its really your taste so try out a few varieties, just remember to superwipe between them else you might find bugs that aren't really an issue with the ROM but because you didn't clear all the old data.
All the best and have fun.

[Q] Is there any 100% stable Rom available for Desire S?

Is there any 100% stable rom available for Desire S? Ive been searching for it and found so many out there but everyone is complaining about every rom out there, complaining about wifi or camera or restarting issues are these roms meant to be unstable or they are supposed to be like stock one? can anyone please tell or guide regarding ICS or Jelly Bean rom i can get without getting in trouble as ive never ported my phone before, thanks!
There is nothing in the whole wide world nobody is complaining about.
To topic: there are roms that are way better than stock. Most people having issues don't know what they are doing.
I've used most roms and most stable 3 are cm7 ,virtuous unity and fallout

Fully stable ROMs that I've used and liked are:
Gingerbread (Android 2.3):
Endymion
Reaper
Cyanogenmod 7
Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0)
ICE_DS 4.3 (fully working!)
Fallout (not 100%, missing wifi tethering, but every single other thing works).
Hope this helps!
you mentioned ICE_DS 4.3 (fully working!) can you send me the link from where i can get the guide and download it? I've stock 2.3.5 on my Desire S with Sense 3.0, thanks!

try it yourself.
Don't let other ppl's preference determine what suites you, if I ever did that then i would be stucked at rom A, and i wouldnt even bother to try rom B.
Even though i read that there were many issue with rom C i still tried it out, and the issues they mention didn't appear in my phone. So my current rom is now rom D.
So then rom B had an update, so i back-up my current rom then restore rom B then updated it. I didnt like it so i went on to try rom E which was one of the lattest developement.
Take ur time to try it all, because once u tried everything u will get bored as i am now and just waiting for the lastest update to come.

I'm pretty conservative when it comes to changing ROMs.
I know that CyanogenMod 7 comes with integrated OpenVPN and WiFi tethering if I recall correctly. I consider these two features as quite desirable. I assume that Endymion and Reaper have that too as they are based on CM7, right? Apparently, Reaper is not based on the stable CM 7.2 release but then, on the other hand, it has been advocated as very stable. So, why has the developer then promised a final release?
I'm scared of losing my apps and data when changing ROMs. What ways do you guys use to ensure that your can restore everything to working order after you've flashed your new ROM?

Any recommendable TB beginners guides out there?
yes, perfectly good enough. You just won't have the batch function. But it's easy to use and has a simple ui. I will say this though, if your going to be flashing roms regularly then it is more than worth paying for the full app, I paid for tb and Rom manager on the day I unlocked my bootloader, and haven't once thought that maybe I shouldn't have

Well, in that case, stock Rom suits best for u. IMHO, the loveliest part of Rom developing is that someone found issues and someone trying to fix it. That's what Android Dev really is. And I enjoy using all kinds of Roms developed by those awesome HTC Saga developers. Every Rom has some bugs, and it doesn't matter if they don't affect your daily use. Enjoy them I'm currently using CM10 by nexx. Rant too much...:banghead:

I don't agree with that.
I had to disable the SIM-code, because every couple of days, my HTC crashed and Restarted.
(if you don't know that, you don't get call's because of the simcard-code).
That was the reason I bought a new smartphone (xperia U).
Since the HTC was in my desk-drawer, I began to experiment with rooting/changing ROM
Now I have fall-out for 2 weeks now, and my phone hasn't crashed 1 time.
So for me, custom ROMS are more stable than the stock one. (and faster, smoother, ...)
It just feels like a whole new phone.
Anybody knows witch ROM is the best for Battery Life ?
It should be ICS and Sense 4.0 ... At the Moment i have the "Project X" installed
Try ice ds...I am getting on an average close to four hours of screen time on a full charge...that's the max I have ever gotten on any Rom ics or gb...

[Q] ROM for a App Dev & Daily Workhorse Phone

Hi all,
its been many months since I left the scene of Android OS/App. Development.
Now that I am back I want to upgrade my HTC Desire S' stock GB 2.3.3 ROM.
I have a rooted desire S with HBoot downgraded to 0.98.2000 (PG8810000) . ready to roll.
But as I went through the forums I felt a lil' disturbance in the air with so many ROM's and as I am wanting to have a JB based ROM into my phone which I use to test Android based apps daily evening which I develop. so I am need of a fairly stable ROM.
Also, I would need the help of the community to setup that ROM. I would also like to have a decent battery life (atleast better than my current HTC stock sucko )
So, can you guys recommend me some ROM?; and post me a lil' how to? just to refresh my memory. I think Andromadus (excuse my spelling) is looking pretty awesome...though am having my eyes on Jellytime-AROMA too..(is it a copy of Ubuntu? or just the lock screen?)
Also, I am having Touch Recovery, and a backup software installed in my phone.(forgot the name :¦ )
Thanks
Best recovery is 4ext,cwm does and can cause issues with bad flashes. Andromadus CM10.1 is a superb rom, as a jb rom it would be my choice hands down

On idle mode, it drops roughly 2% in a minute, with Wi-fi, 3G, Bluetooth and GPS off. I never tried letting it discharge completely, because I switched to Fallout as I need a longer battery life for personal use.

What ROM do you recommend me to use? STOCK, CM7, CM9, CM10...

Hello.
I'm flashing my wife's ChaCha with different ROMs and I was wondering if there is something better than Stock based ROMs.
I value most battery life, second memory space (have the SD card partitioned and using Link2SD right now). Don't need HTC Sense or any other bloatware.
I just need the camera to take pictures, so I can sacrifice the front camera too...
So, what ROM do you guys recommend me to try to have the BEST battery life?

If you want the latest sense ROM and the most customization, then Viper is the way to go. Make sure you are using:
-The correct ROM for your device e.g. S4 ROM for S4 device
-Check all the MD5 sum
-Recommended Radio
-Clean install
Also try a custom kernel like ElementalX. Viper has always had the best stability and battery life of any custom ROM I've tried.
