CM10 battery life problem - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

I recently flashed Dhiru's CM10 ROM on my galaxy sl and I was experiencing battery life problems(too low). I researched and found out that I had to wait for a few battery cycles. Unfortunately that hasn't worked out for me and the problem continues. Is there any solution to this??
Thanks for the help

First flash GB version DDLF2 and then flash CM10. DDLF2 H
has great battery life and is best base ROM for CM10. You can even try my build.prop tweaks for greater battery life and other performance boost!

[Q] Galaxy apollo (I5801) Seriously battery problem

Hi everyone,
I know that there are a lot of threads about battery problems with g3 (apollo)
But i got a really big battery issue, when my phone is fully charged and I use it, it says it's empty after 10 minutes! and than falls off right after,
Really 10 minutes.. i'm only using 1 thing at a time ( music or twitter etc) and have done everything to try increas the life ( battery performances apps in market, screen on low, power save mode etc,) but nothing works, still 10 minutes. sometimes even 5 and if i'm lucky 15 minutes
Someone got the same problem or knows how to fix it>
Í have a Samsung galaxy GT-I5801 vodafone
I'm using Custom ROM kyrillos (beta 7.5) and G3MOD (v. 2.0 B2)
PS. I'm a n00b with mobile stuff so please do not post to complicated stuff,

Did you already tried a battery calibration (with an app battery calibration from the marked)?
Sometimes the battery stats are wrong after flashing a new rom so I recommend to calibrate your battery so this problem will probably be solved

Most likely a problem with the kernel i think. Try flashing another kernel such as fugumod. Search on the development forum for it.

Thanks for the info, I'll try a battery calibration and if that doesn't work i'll flash another kernel. Thanks again!
I have the same problem.
How do i calibrate the battery ?
If i do that, and i don't see any update.I should do this thing with the Kernel ? What should i do ? What kernel should i put ?
I have Kyrillos13 Version 7.1 in my phone.
What to do ? I am desperate!

Relax and flash a stock kernel. There was a new update called xxjpu. Search it in the forum and flash it. It should make your battery better as the battery drivers are untouched. Also if you want to flash a custom rom don't use an oc version, use a non oc version (non overclocked)

OC means Overclockable non-OC means ofcourse non overclockable
Whit an OC kernel you can overclock your G3 with SetCPU so your G3 will be faster

Sorry to ask so much but like i said i'm pretty new with mobile roms and flashing and stuff so i'm tryna to learn the roots.

Ask all you like. Overclocking uses more battery because the cpu needs to work faster. Non overcloked phones use less battery because they use less cpu power.

Ask as many as you want that's the reason why forums like these exist
If you wanna learn the basics of flashing, rooting ect. I recommend the roll-up thread in the development section, all the info to start experimenting with android an G3 is there
I dnt believe our battery can drain out with in 10 mins, even if it is miscalibrated.
I believe Ur battery got corrupted.. U need to replave it with a new one.
PS: I had the exact same problem & fixed that by replacing the battery with a new one..
Some symptoms for corrupt battery:
1)battery drains even it is on charging
2) battery drains like hell with CPU sucking manipulation but at stand by , it goes good
3)almost 1year from purchasing

For this your phone must be rooted
you just have to install the app battery calibration form the market and follow the instructions
I have put , the stock JPQ .
I will how it will go for today, and if i don't see anything better.
Then i will wait the new release of the Kyrillos13 v8.0 and flash it again, and then i will install the app calibration tool
I will keep you inform guyz, thank you!

If the extreme battery drain problem still occurs on the stock rom with the stock kernel the problem is probably related to the battery itself
so I hope for you that it's just a problem with the kernel or some rom related problem
I hope the best for you
I have tested the JPQ,for almost 3 hours with Wi-fi , GPS,handwriting in sms,few calls,and downloading all the time with market.And from the 65 % went to 45 % only 20 % , drop down.
If i would do that with the Kyrillos13 V.7.1 in the first few minutes the battery would die.Simple as that.
Now i am flashing to the newer stock version JPU.I will inform you
Edit Post : 21:50
---------------------
The phone , has been flashed, but it kept my apps from the previous version i don't know why.So, i made factory reset and pass it again, and now i am working on the JPU,as i can see everything are running smooth, the battery i can see until now it's ok.
So ... more information after some hours.

As it now stands, I think it was just a problem of the kernel.
Otherwise when you tested the stock jpq, your battery would be empty before your phone was fully booted since a stock rom has no buildprob tweaks etc. like the Kyrillos 7.1 where you got that enormous battery drain
But a battery can loses his full capacities after a year so a faster drain than when you purchased the phone is obvious of course
so I really hop the best for your phone

Yeah , thank you mate.
I have the 7.5 OC beta , now . I will do the calibration battery and i will use the phone.
After i will use the 8.0 when it comes out,and if i see that i am not sutisfied of the battery,i will return into the old stock firmware once and for all.
After that i will buy via ebay a newer battery with much larger mah, and it will be just fine i think.
(P.S : If you have any kind of app, that you suggest, send me a pm !)

[Q] HELP!! Battery is killing my phone

Ok i have flashed ARHD and that's it. I haven't messed with anything else. But i am getting a huge battery drain even when i am not doing anything on the phone. Look at the images attached to this post. As you can see at some point the phone is awake even though i haven't touched it. I left it for 24 hours, with minimal use at the start and then i just left it at home. I have disabled background data. Can anyone help me with this? Is it because of ARHD rom?

Hi,
Poor battery life is probably down to the kernel you are using.
It's about experimenting to find the best ROM/kernel combination.
Choose from either Faux kernels HERE
Or bricked kernels HERE
Make a nandroid backup.
Place kernel on the root of tour sd card,
wipe cache and dalvik,
flash kernel like ROM,
reboot.
Thanks for your reply!
I just noticed version 3.6.12 was out and flashed it. It's with latest Faux kernel. Will test this out and see how it is. If it's same then i will try bricked kernels. Anyone you would recommend for this rom ?

Hi,
I think there is a problem with the wifi on that version.
The links to kernel to fix wifi:

Hi,
3.6.13 only came out today.
You need to give it a chance before you can judge it.
If you do get poor battery life ,you need to experiment a bit with the ROM/kernel combination.
I gave the link to the main kernel Devs above in post # 4

It was just a question, I'm sorry if it looked agressive :>
I tried ARHD x.11 and x.12 and have had this awful wifi battery drain aswell but I didn't try another kernel because I was very new to the Android OS. After that, I have tried some other custom roms but I didn't fell in love like it happend with ARHD. So just wanted to know if this bug is still there or if something has changed.

I've had this battery drain with every ARHD roms and some other roms and it seems like nothing can fix it. My guess is .13 wont help me either.
I only had this problem with the ARHD roms. Which radio do you use?
10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2 which is recommended for that rom
Hi!
I'm bit noob at this but I have used ARHD roms since 3.x now using 6.0.2 xe version.
Never had such battery drain, used latest kernels from faux at 3.x now 6.0.2 uses stock
Kernel and my battery drain is in idle about 1%/hour..
Have you tried fresh install? I read somewhere that the kernel should install first then Rom?

Hi,
That drain you are showing is not actually that bad...
When I was on 3.x.x it was worse than yours.
You cannot compare phones like that.
They are running different OS,different hardware,so they are not comparable.
I used to get 1-2 mA drain on my HD2,but you will never see anything that low on the Sensation.
Why don't you try THIS KERNEL

just buy a new battery if it drains in 10-20 mins....that's not kernel fault at all.,....just for all others to know: I'm flashing roms & kernels on my g3 very often...my phone has 1st battery & it's 16 months old...and you know what?...i still get 24-30 hrs of battery juice out of it...& it never drained so fast as many users are reporting & blaming the KERNEL for fast draining.....so.....
found that flashing I5801DDJG6 firmware fixes the issue but all the download links of that firmware are dead can someone provide me with working links of the firmware with bootloader removed please
Dude this is not kernel problem
First See how hot your phone is
If your phone is 60C or even higher don't expect anything more than that
Anyway as rkoby said our g3mod has started to get older and most of their batteries are not able to hold charge for long time
Think of replacing your battery
If you are still sure stock firmware will work I think kyrillos had a collection of stock roms ( check in his rom thread)

[Q] ICS-based ROM for HTC One S

Hi all,
After owning a One S for nearly 2 years now, my battery drain problems get worse and worse. Before it was updated to JB, the battery life was much better, but I haven't had much luck with either Sense JB or CM 10.
I thought I'd try an ICS ROM to get me through to June (when I can upgrade), but can't find CM 9 for the One S on the CM website - can anyone advise which ROM to install?
Thanks

The ICS rom's are all listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789812. The problem as you say will be download links, if you like sense try viper 1.2.1, that link still works. From my experience the sense rom's have much better battery management than AOSP. Or you could completely go back to stock ICS/JB using an RUU. For the record, the best battery life I've had on this phone is with MaximusHD. Also it could be that there is a problem with the battery and the ROM won't make a difference.

[Q] How to fix battery problems with Omnirom on P5100

Dear community,
after I have done a clean install of the latest Omnirom nightly (omni-4.4.4-20140709-p5100-NIGHTLY) on my P5100 I'm facing serious battery problems. With my standard Samsung stock ROM (Jelly Bean 4.1.2) I had several days of usage when browsing the internet when only WiFi was enabled. Since I'm using the new custom ROM the device is empty after 5-6 hours. Also, If I switch of the device completely, I cannot turn it on again the next day because the battery power is indicated with 1% left.
Do you have an advice how to solve this issue? Else I will revert to the last stock ROM again.
Many thanks in advance.

As I saw in other CM11 threads this is a general problem on the P5100.
