Hi guys!
Long story short.
I format all partitions (data, system, cache, sdcard) through CWM, (I lost all my roms) and now CWM can't even mount /sdcard/ anymore...
When I am in recovery trying to mount USB storage., clockworkrecovery gives me error:
E:unable to open ums lunfile (no such file or directory)
I try so many ways nothing work.
-[HOW-TO] Fix soft brick & error mounting sdcard not working
[HOW-TO] ADB Push a ROM to your phone not working also, because I cant mount SD card
PLEASE need help ASAP
Had the same problem a few days ago, but plz google first before you post, there are already enough threads about this. what I did was flash the official T-Mobile RUU. It restores your phone to factory settings, although there are other options available. Flashing the RUU seemed easiest to me so if you want to try it check it out

Did it delete all your data, or everything on your sd card? Can your phone turn on, if it can just try and install the HTC drivers then.

I'm pretty sure Recuva only works on PCs... if you data is gone, it is gone buddy. You should have read the warnings everywhere that all your data will be deleted.
so all my data is gone but i can get into recovery and into fastboot just ont anything else i have nothing in any files no zips or anything
when i try ruu i tried all the ones availbe 1.73,.82 and .85 but non of them work i keep getting error 155
im comming from aokp
Find the CWM that has ADB fixed. Flash that, push a ROM to the card, flash that.
I'm not sure about getting photos and such back. That Recuva program has worked for others though.

no offense and i know youve done more than alt fo the xda community but the comment u made wast helpful again no offense but recuva does work on androids
google search
It took 5 tries to relock mine when I RUUed.
In CWM, try to delete cache and delete Dalvik (under "Advanced" in CWM), then reboot. This works when my HTC Flyer randomly will not mount internal SD over USB.

Heres the deal
Flashed MIUI, and im getting an unmountable/unavailable SD card problem. Cant mount to my PC either.
I tried using the RUU to go back to stock, getting errors. Tried factory resetting via CWM, but its giving my SD card mount problems as well. Tried factory resetting via phone settings. Phone just reboots.
Im stuck here, and I have no idea what to do.
You need to relock bootloader to flash the RUU.

Yes do that. Also I had issues with some Ruus not working with some drivers, kept gettin error 150 or maybe 140... Anyway I changed adb drivers and it worked. Don't get frustrated just yet.. We'll get u back
Also what about partition sd card in CWM? Don't know if it's there, should be. If not, install twrp and partition sd card from there.

I posted this in the wrong area. Sorry, couldn't move or delete my old post.
Okay, so I have an NS4G that seems to be bricked.
What I CAN do:
Use adb in CWM recovery
Use fastboot in the bootloader
Mount /cache
flash boot and recovery
What I CANNOT do:
Mount /sdcard
Mount /system
Mount /data
flash userdata and system
I was running the CM9 nightlies and woke up in the the morning to a dead phone. All was working fine when I went to bed.
No matter what I do, I cannot mount those partitions. When I try to flash a system.img using fastboot, it hangs and never completes. I even left it for 2 hours to see what would happen. I can only flash boot.img and recovery.img and they work quickly and without error.
I continually get E:Can't mount /sdcard etc...
Is there anything I can do, or is it toast?
Also, I spent a few hours researching, and couldn't locate any help which is why I am posting here now.
Well you can do something with it so its probably not bricked, if you can flash cwm on it then try flashing custom from if any are on your SD? My phone couldn't mount anything either I just tried a few times and it finally mounted, I was lucky I guess? Worth a shot though. Sorry if I'm no help :L best of luck

I have tried many things, even tried to push something to the SD card with ADB, but it still wouldn't mount. Thanks for the quick reply, I am still trying things.
I'm no expert I'm afraid, take it you've had no luck searching through other threads? Have you tried reflashing the rom you tried initially through recovery?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Yes, I have tried just about everything under the sun that I could find. I usually find a solution to my problems here, this is the first time I could not. Thankfully I had an old Evo 4G to fall back on so I at least have a phone (it does have a charging port problem though).
I'm all out of ideas then sorry mate, best of luck

Hey man, I am in the exact same boat as you! I went to bed and woke up the next morning in my recovery! If you do find a fix, please do not hesitate to let me know! Mine hangs in the fastboot for forever as well! I have no idea what to do... I feel like I've tried everything as well!
Hii everyone its my first thread here but i learned many things from here..

Please insert a disk into drive\Device\Harddisk1\DR3." and after turning ON i can open phone SD storage in computer..
so plz can anyone tell me the default mount and storage settings for infuse 4g that what to mount what to unmount and what to format??? so that i can flash jelly bean..

ok reported
here is a good way to get most of your answers.
i went to google.com
on the search bar, i typed in, "how to use clockworkmod"
i got this:

i think it works for other things too.
ex: why is sky blue? why is my pee yellow? how to flash a rom?
gl
You can't have an sd card in when flashing cm10 or any jelly bean rom...some people get away with it but it fives a lot of people errors (my self included)
Also every jb thread op except thebills jellybean threads say to pull the sd card before flashing...

You figured it out or you gave up??? I hope you figured it out...
Anyways, it usually does not matter what you have mounted...because when flashing a rom it will usually mount what needs to be mounted through the install script
But sometimes it doesn't...if that's the case system is all that usually needs to be mounted...but you can mount everything if you want
And the link qkster put up talks about the mounts, and also the formats under mounts and storage...maybe you should read

Apparently, he gave up testing ROMs. I am sure that some day, ROM testers will be eligible for a "Testing (ROM) Hall of Fame"...but only those who have bricked (soft-brick or hard-brick) every phone they ever had and continued to play with new ROM will be considered.

The title tells all... essentially I went to install a ROM, and boom. Just boot loops the HTC dev warning screen. I am able to get into my bootloader but I can't get into TWRP recovery. I also just got a Mac Book and I am not able to connect via fastboot. I think I may be doing something wrong, but I'm not sure. Could I have some input on my predicament?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: I created a guide on how to fix this issue. You can head on over to Team Nocturnal's XsMagical's Thread to see it.
Edit 2: Above thread was removed so I created one here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2441121
You'll have to reflash recovery using fastboot.
Unfortunately, I don't know about getting fastboot to work on mac...

It shows up as nothing. The only things I can mount is /data/ and /system/. And those don't come up as anything. However in my disk utility app on my mac it shows that my phone has 10GB of storage and it recognizes what it is.
I am going to find a way by using the Nocturnal method. I'll update as I can.

How were you able to get into TWRP? I am experiencing a similar problem to you. I have a looping HTCdev screen and cannot fastboot TWRP because it keeps saying "waiting for device" when i try. Any help would be appreciated.

press and hold power. THe capacitive buttons will blink a bunch of times then the screen will go black. When it does, let go of power and press and hold volume down until bootloader comes up.

The problem I had is that I needed to reflash TWRP via fastboot. Make sure you have fastboot and HTC drivers.
Turns out that the thread has been deleted so I created a thread here.
