Any ROM that looks like Stock? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hello,
Thanks very much for another useful service - I just changed my HTC Kaiser for a Samsung Skyrocket II.
I rooted the phone and installed some of the roms available here. However, I like some of the aesthetics of the stock rom (color backgrounds, size of dial pads, and keyboards).
I am wondering if there is any custom rom - especially ICS - that retains some of the stock background and colors?
Thanks - Manny

[Q] Changing the Design?

Well I want to pre-order my Sensation now (20th of June first stock on UK :O)
but something is bothering me.. I was in the UK 2 weeks ago I think (MUN vs Barca match :O) and I tried the Sensation on Vodafone and the Galaxy S II on somewhere else.
I didn't really notice any major difference, except the little uhm... "un-completely-smoothness" in both of them.. but that's usual if I understood correctly. (I mean not like the iPhone or something like that)
Still, the Sensation and in general any HTC device attracted me because of several reasons- one was the design of the system. (The lock screen with the ring, the bottom bar with the Phone and Menu buttons and all of this) and I wanted to ask:
If CM7 will come to the Sensation (as I saw in one thread here), will I be able to use CM7 on the Sensation but change the design to HTCs' original design? (As I mentioned above)
Thanks! and sorry for the length of this ><
When the bootloader of the device is finally unlocked, we will most probably get CM7 support. CM7 is an optimized stock gingerbread rom and you will get the standard stock android interface and design. You can't have Sense functions on CM7, such as the lockscreen and the widgets because it's a different rom (operating system, actually). So, no you won't be able to have the Sense interface on CM7. And there's no point in doing so - if you like Sense, just keep HTC's stock rom .

[Q] Gingerbread look

Can we get a rom or theme that has a Gingerbread status bar (bars/WiFi bars/battery icon etc.) and similarly themed drop down panel?
I see tons of roms but they're either tacky or stock. The theme in the theme/apps section doesn't work with the T-Mobile USA Sensation 4G stock rom and the dev is completely uninterested in fixing the issue nor does he want to outline that flashing it will get you a soft brick because of the quick settings mods.
So, I'm wondering if a dev is nice enough to take the time out to offer a theme or rom with a GB look that works with the T-Mobile USA rom for the Sensation 4G.
You should just have to flash a Sense ROM and then replace the battery & 3G/4G icons with the green stock gingerbread ones

[Q] Custom rom on tablet vs custom rom on phone

Hey guys,
I have been through a plethora of custom ROMs on my galaxy s captivate - ranging from CM7 to MIUI and what not.
Some major features of those roms are:
-removed carrier bloatware
-improved speed
-custom user interfaces (such as CM7 and MIUI)
However, given the fact that the transformer does not include carrier crapware, does not suffer from performance issues, do you guys deem it worth it to install a custom firmware?
On a phone, once rooted you can easily flash between firmwares and such; however on this table you do need to go through the trouble of un-rooting for a simple software update.
Can you guys convince me that it is actually worth my time to install a custom firmware?
P.S. as the transformer pad stock firmware is already very snappy, do you notice performance improvements?
thanks a lot
Looking at the prime 1.8.2 page, there doesn't seem to be any jaw-dropping features. That is very unlike some phone custom roms;
where the moment you see the thread, you might twitch on the ground foaming at the mouth untill you get it running on your phone.

Its no different on a tablet. I have never unroot to update firmware. My tablet was 3.0 when I bought it, its now ruining 3.2
You simply wait for the rooted/custom rom to implement the update than you flash. On the phone when you run custom rom you don't get ota update, you flash an updated version of the rom you are running its like that also on the tablet.
As far as different in rom between phone and tablet.
-phone custom rom usually get features and functions ported from other devices or they get lots of stuffs that's not native to the phone.
Take Cyanogen for ex, rich in features and functions. S truer custom rom.
-most tablet custom rom doesn't get much ported over but some does get things stock rom don't have. Example is rooted/custom rom like Prime, we've been enjoying netflix for a while now but stock rom just now getting it.
Tablet rom are mostly tweaked stock rom
I do wish there was cyanogen for the tf
Actually, CM7 doesn't have any ported UI, it uses ADW Launcher from the market.
Also, we may get touchwiz UX port very soon, there is a thread in the developers' subforum
I just rooted mine a couple days ago, then installed Prime for the NetFlix. Then the update comes out! Come on!! Not that I'm unhappy with the overclocking ability now... but COME ON! (in the voice of Gob).
There's not really a need to install a custom ROM since they're just slightly modded versions of the stock firmware. They usually just provide little fixes and updated firmware, which you'd get eventually anyway.

Part of the reason you aren't seeing really tweaked out ROMs on tablet is the fact that Google has not, and will not release the source code for Honeycomb. Once ice cream sandwich comes out and Asus releases the source watch the ROM love'n come flooding out of the gates. But until then meh. I'm on the fence on rooting mine since I desperately want Netflix on my transformer, but meh. Rather not brick it right now just to get another rebaked existing ROM.

ROM with the most MODS

Hi,
I wanted to ask all of you fellow XDAers, which Rom you think has the most MODS featured in it. I am not looking at any other aspect (such as battery life, or speed), i am only looking at the mods that are featured in the rom. I have tried CyberGR before and I was quite contented with the amount of mods it had. The rom i am using now, CNA, is less capable in this regards, but more stable overall. Please provide your input.
Have you tried out the latest Cyber GR Tornado?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425344
Thanks for the suggestion.
I've been recently thinking of reverting back from CNA to CyberGR. There are a number of features I miss very dearly on CyberGR that are not available in CNA, such as the ability to increase brightness by means of drawing on the status bar, and using the torch widget for easy access to the flashlight.
By the way, how do other roms, such as cm9 or MIUI compare to CyberGR, for those who have had experience with all three of these roms. I remember CM7 having loads of extras and mods, such as swipe gestures in the lockscreen, and other likewise mods which made the user experience much easier and more efficient.
thank you for your input
I can add that AOKP rom is packed with features.

[Q] Whats the best ROM for i9020T

Dear friends,
I have Nexus S on t-mobile ICS 4.0.4, i would like to know which one is the best of best room for my phone.
I want a rom that i can count on and theme.
i have found two of theme here on site..
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1483033
2) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425344
Which one can i use for my t-mobile i9020t
Well, everyone will like a different ROM. This is mostly a personal question and you will have to test a few before you decide which one you like more.
Bedalus benchmarks might tip the scale:

Now, if you ask me, I really like MIUIXperience since it offers nice theming over MIUI (loving Xperia launcher and other stuff). Haven't had any problems with it (except for some known bugs that the DEV is working on).
koush isnt making roms, not for the nexus s at least. you probably meant cm9, which is not koushes work. plus there are many more roms out in the dev section, some are more popular than the roms that you listed.
Where is Bugless Beast on poll!?
Like stated previously, it is all completely up to you. Just try them all until you find the one you like
I'll tell you about my experiences though with CyberGR v10 (previous ROM) and Bugless Beast (current ROM):
CyberGR was great but there were too may mods I didn't personally need. Also, different applications would lag at times like email, facebook, or even the T9 dialer (sometimes it would up to 5 seconds to pull up my dialer and contacts which was ultra annoying). I tried many different kernels and overclocking options but it still lagged or even rebooted. Thus I decided to change.
I switched to Bugless Beast and I am very happy with it as my daily driver. It is very simple mod and close to stock ICS and I just applied my own additional modifications to suit my needs like the kernel change to support BLN, BLD, and voodoo. This ROM is very snappy, has a great battery life, and everything works as far as I know even with my modifications.
May I ask, how do you edit the image files of a custom rom to remove few applications and change the language files
