I have had this situation since i started booting into any type of recoveries since this phone was 1st rooted and was wondering if anyone has had this problem which i still do and am wondering if it is some type of pixel problem probably and should i send it in to get fixed before it gets worse, or is it nothing. When i boot my phone into recovery mode, No matter what splash screen i use, on the top right side of the screen going almost 1/4th down the side of the screen about exactly this wide ------> lllll <------- the size of all these l's i just made put together. If i use a white splash screen that comes up before it boots into recovery, i get that line in a solid very bright high contrast white color that can be seen it is a brighter white than the white splash screens white color, and on black it is the same. Any ideas or anyone else that has noticed this?
IMO it's best you ask all your questions in one thread seeing as you have a lot of them.
I had this too... It's no big deal I think
Sent from outer space 3000 years in the future (with my now extremely outdated, but still freaking awesome, HTC Sensation Z710e)

Have noticed something on my Fuze today-
My screen is starting to turn yellow right where the little keyboard icon is between the soft buttons. There is also another small spot 1.5 inches directly above that.
You can really only see it when the screen is showing bright colors- in landscape entering a text message, during boot when the AT&T world phone splash screen is on...
Seems like it is starting to get a little darker day by day.
Is anyone else noticing anything like this on their TP or Fuze?
Tnx
No way man, that's definitely not normal. In years dealing with pdas I haven't heard of burn-in.
Sounds defective- I'd take it back and exchange if I were you.
the technology behind lcd result in burn in never being possible at all
it's a thing only located in crt and plasma screens
Burn in isnt the right terminology, I know. It's not burn in like a CRT, its more like after the screen has been on a while, I start to see discoloration in those two little areas.
In other words, if you look at the keyboard icon in lower bar right after you turn the PDA on, it is white.
After 15 or so minutes of use, the white outline starts turning yellowish.
The longer the screen is on, the more yellow this spot gets.
It's almost like there is a surface mount LED right under that spot that is heating the LCD and causing it to discolor.
Does that make any sense?
Hi, I received a new Fuze from AT&T two days ago and I have noticed a small, subtle, yellowish dot on the upper left hand corner of the screen. It is barely noticeable unless I am in an app with a white or grey background. I don't particularly mind this blemish, I am just wondering if any of you guys think it can/will worsen? Should i send it back to AT&T now? Should i wait and see if it gets worse at all? Or should I just leave it to luck and deal with it the way it is, it doesn't really effect the phones performance or display that much at all. All opinions welcome, thanks.
it's called a stuck / dead pixel
1 pixel == 3 sub pixels 1 red 1 green 1 blue as in rgb
each one can die in 2 ways
on stuck or off stuck
most lcd panels really got some pixel errors if one really check up on it
there are programs which can excise pixels and temp make stuck pixels work again but
sooner or later they get stuck again if one can live with it depend on how anal one is about noticing such things
It doesn't appear to be one pixel, it almost looks like its an image of the sun. Brighter in the middle and fades out at the edges, in the shape of a circle. I'd put it at about .25 inches in diameter. As long as it doesn't get worse I really don't care.
I have got 5 "suns" on my Touch PRO and one green pixel I can see it well on black picture.
Yes it is not so nice but phone is going well with it so i don't do anything with it
But when you have got a new phone, i will send it back
Hm, well as long as no one sees the problem getting worse I really don't mind at all.
I don't think it would be worth the hassle with AT&T over something so minuscule.
hey guys, I've had my phone since launch but just noticed a screen problem. I initially did a dead pixel test when I got the phone but what I missed is that there is a row of off pixels whenever I am on a dark screen. I guess I never noticed it before because my screen doesn't generally have such dark colors on it. Basically on a black screen there is a line and a few dots that are darker than the rest of the screen.
has anyone had these problems before? will Vzw be willing to replace my phone under the manufacturers warranty? thanks guys, love the community

This is a common issue. (should search the forums next time)
You should be able to get VZW to replace your phone, but the chance of getting a phone that is just as bad, if not worse is very likely. Honestly, you shoul do as I have and just deal with it. You very RARELY even see the spots on a dark screen.
That is if it's just a few, if you have a LOT of dark spots like that then you'd prob end up with a better replacement. Me, myself, I have 3 spots that are very small in size so I'm not going to bother to try to get my phone replaced.
Hey all,
I just wanted a bit of advice re some blemishes/dead pixel that I have on my screen.
Hopefully you will see from the photos that I seem to have a dead pixel/collection of dead pixels smack bang in the middle of the screen. I say "seem" as i'm pretty sure it/they is/are not a dead pixel; in reality it looks like a metallic dot, which shows up shiny silver on a black screen and black on a white screen. At an angle it is possible to see that it is under the glass (and as such not just something stuck to the outside of my screen )
Further, I also seem to have a sort of white burnout on the bottom left of my screen (again hopefully you will see what I mean in my photos).
I just wondered if anyone else has come across something like this? Whether anyone could suggest any solutions (I have already tried a "dead pixel fixer app") And also wondered if people have had any experience with ASUS guarantee repairs etc.
P.S. please excuse the potato I used to take the photos, I have no other cameras to hand.
Just purchased a brand new Galaxy S6 32GB FLAT in white today. Right out of the box, especially on a white background, I noticed that the bottom half of the screen shifts into a more warmer tone. It's most visible on a white background, where i can actually see the transition between the two colour tones. Other colours are affected too, but not as noticeable. Please refer to the attached screenshots, (Ignore the diagonal lines running across the screen, caused by the camera artefact).
My question is, is it normal? Can you please check yours and provide feedback? Thanks in advance
I have the same
Its a common issue. But it shouldnt be like that. You should get a replacement

Dude this isnt severe. Ive seen enough amoled displays having worse tints and stripes. Yours is much better than them. If I was you, I wouldnt settle for this. Replace it or get a refund. I have severe ocd about my phone. I need it to be perfect. Luckily the S6 that I have has a very good display. A perfect one. Get a replacement asap. This isnt something normal.
Im ordering my 2nd replacemeny soon. My first one was yellowish and uneven like yours. My current one has a horrible pink tint. Try 3

I took my phone back to the Samsung store and got it replaced by the manager there. The screen looked fine when i first looked at it in store, but soon after taking it home i realised that this second unit has a yellowish tint on the right side of the screen. Going back tomorrow for another replacement.... SIGH!!!!!
My third replacement from the Samsung Exp Store is.... a KEEPER! This unit has a much better even backlight and meets my expectation! After going through that trouble, i'm happy to say that I'm a a happy camper

Looks all right to me, but then again we all perceive things differently. My current unit is not perfect, there's still a green/blue tint to it, but it's tolerable. If you cannot tolerate it, then keep exchanging until you find one that you can tolerate with. Keep in mind though that you won't find a unit with 100% even colour hue; it's the limitation with AMOLED displays. All the best!
I have the same issue
I have the same, but much less severe than yours seem to be. I don't notice it at all with normal use, only super slightly on bright white screens. If it really looks like it does on the photo, I would get it replaced.

Light bars on black wallpaper
I have the following issue on black wallpapers. On top and bottom there is a lighter bar. This appears only after applying the wallpaper.Viewing them with Quickpick there are no bars.Same in Nova and TW after applying it.Tried attaching a screen but the bars are not captured. What could it be,a ROM issue,a low DPI?I have the DPI set to low. Also on brighter pics you can't see the bars ,after applying which makes sense.
White uniformity - Is this the jelly effect and is it normal?
I got a really good deal on a used Tab S6 from Amazon and I love the tablet but there is weird tinting thing happening on white screens.
When viewed slightly off-axis the tint goes blue.
Makes me nuts when reading NY TImes and edges of white screen are tinted blue.
The effect changes when viewed at different angles and seen without screen protector. It is tough to photograph but hopefully you can see what I see.
Ignore the moire in the middle of the first shot - that's a screen protector... Look at extreme edges of screen.
Thanks and pardon me if this has been answered before - I've searched and couldn't find this issue.
