I just got the email too. Is anyone buying this, it looks good even though my battery life had been good? Kinda bulky though, good thing the phone is so thin...
Sent from my HTC VLE_U

Why does it need that silly nub on the side? They could easily make the MicroUSB plug much shorter and flush. Anyone have it already and can comment on bulkiness?

Mine shipped today, hope it gets here Friday. If you order one, use coupon code RMENOT12 for 10% off.

Anyone have one yet
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2

the case should be in tmo stores as early as friday, if you check into a tmo store via facebook you get 30% off 1 accessory

Thanks for the information.

I had one of these for my Vibrant back in the day and it was not at all worth the $40 I paid for it back then.
***Please keep in mind that this is strictly my experience and opinion of this case, and I only provide it to help you decide if you REALLY want this thing so some of you can avoid the buyers remorse and wasted money.***
A. It made the Vibrant stupid-bulky, and is almost sticky in texture making putting the phone in your pocket difficult, taking the phone out almost impossible without turning your pocket inside out, and collects pocket lint like its it's job.
B. It costs over twice as much as portable battery packs that are rated at much higher capacities. So you can grab one of those and a nice tpu case for less money; better protecting your phone, keeping it slim/sexy, and making it easier to pull from your pocket.
C. It's hideous, and makes it so any other case you might want to use for protecting your HOS (these barely protect the phone from anything except a drop onto its back, and have a tendancy to bounce) needs to be removed to use it. Added drawback: it makes the phone much heavier, so if you do drop it, it strikes the ground with that much more force.
D. Build quality was inferior. The USB didn't plug securely into my phone, so every time I moved I heard the unplug/plug tone from my pocket. The HOS doesn't have this tone, so you'll not know its happening until you pull a dead phone out of your inside-out pocket.
I could keep going, but I'm sure some tool is already drooling to reply with "tldr" thinking people still laugh at that.
Oh, I hate being strictly negative, so I'll list an advantage: your pocket lint problem will be cured with this case.

It's good once you skip to the review. The nearly two minutes of nonsense before it just about ruins the review.

Don't really like the idea of not having it all built in but for the price difference it may be worth it

We're listening and trying to make options for those who have posted--we appreciate your comments so we can make our products better.
While we realize that not every phone/case option is out there, we decided to make something new-- a 2000 mAh battery in a slim 10mm pack. It has suction cups that allow it to stick to most surfaces and that means you can use your current case. It's called PoP'n and truly allows you to STICK IT and GO! And, FYI, the HTC version (MicroUSB-b orientation) should be available by the end of this quarter.
We're giving away the current iterations (iPhone 5 and MicroUSB-a) now until Thursday, and I want to say we'll be doing something similar for the other tip release. You may want to check out our Facebook page (PowerSkincases) or our website (Power-skin<dot>com) to check it out and see if it's something that you might be interested in. We're always trying to listen...

Yeah it's a bit chunky. The thing that interests me is that it actually protects the phone as well.
Whereas I want the slimmest addon possible. Never used a case. Hate them. But more battery would put me onto it.if only it was reasonable in size.

you've just brought the wrath a concrete surface onto your latest device by making that statement. the phone gods are coming for you.
seriously though, i have the case, and it works perfect with my AT&T HOX+. yes, plus. I got it on shopandroid with free shipping and a 15% off promo code, that can be found with a quick google search.
instructions and website say you need to charge and drain 3 cycles and overcharge for at least 3 hours before obtaining optimal performance.
so, ill post an update if anyone is interested what kind of results i'm getting.
I'm glad I found this. If it is slimmer than a Mugen 3200, I might have to order one of these instead. I've heard great things about Seido.

I like seidio.
It's definitely a lot slimmer, but packs almost half or quarter of the juice of the mugen
On the other hand, it offers protection on the face of the phone, as the mugen just clasps onto the sides.

diff'rnt strokes...
The lack of thickness is my very least feature about this phone. So, I must say that I am a HUGE fan of the seidio and I will be contacting them about their innocell line. My plan is to check on the form factor, see if they based it off of any other battery( to see if there is a thicker battery that will match and give proper charge level, etc) check the inside of the case to see what lays behind the battery, and design a simple new system for loading batteries from the rear. I will probably do that even if it cant be upgraded. This phone needs to last for 2 years and tearing that case apart 4 times a week just won't cut it.
Me and Mr dremel have become very very close since phones started being ruined by people who prefer a smaller phone over one that works. Keep dialing down your cpu, turning down your brightness, dumping hours into modding software and the like, and avoiding any use without a charger. I'm essentially just the same except I've never bricked a phone. I have played a whole lot of first person shooters and watched lots and lots of video, NEVER WORRIED ABOUT BATTERY LIFE . I bought this phone because it's an awesome toy and keeps me connected fast.
I commend all the great things you guys come up with. I've rooted several phones just to get better battery readings. Different strokes. Peace!
I really wish they would come out with a white version of that case.

I'm bored of this whole "It's plastic so it sucks" argument.

I don't understand the hate for plastic, it's far more durable than metal for the function of a phone. I've actually got the One now, it's waiting to be exchanged for the GS4 but sadly that has been delayed until May now. When using the One I was constantly worried about dropping it, I kept checking for scratched, it just made me paranoid. I even went searching for cases and I realized I hate the people who go on about the design of the phone and then wrap it in an ugly cheap case anyways. I put the frigging phone in my pocket, nothing else there and it gets a scuff some how. I realized I cannot live with the One, it's not fun to use and I'm constantly worried about it getting damaged. The thing that swung me exchanging it though was seeing how you wont be repairing it yourself, it's so poorly designed. I mean in the past if I've dropped a phone, I go to ebay, buy the parts and repair it myself, you cannot do that with the One. On top of that the One gets so hot, it's like one big heat sink, it makes playing games so uncomfortable.
So I've put the One away waiting for it to be exchanged and went back to my Nokia. Plastic is so much nicer, it has more grip, it keeps the heat in one location so you can just not hold it there, it doesn't scuff or scratch like a *****. I've looked at the GS4 teardown and the plastic rim is easy to take off and replace and so is the back cover obviously. I can not worry about dropping it or scratching it or the condition of my battery sitting in a heatsink sandwich like on the One. I can just easily replace all that stuff if I do damage it.
For me plastic is the better material by far and I don't see it as a down side. I'm getting bored of every review saying how the One is better and all they mention is the design. I've got one, it isn't well designed, it isn't even well made, I've got giant gaps between the glued on speaker grills and the plastic on the phone.
I just don't get it, but whatever!
Along the same lines of design complaints, I love how many ppl diss the design saying it looks exactly like the S3 and there isn't anything special about it. So why don't ppl say the same thing about the iphone that has only seen 1 true design change in 6 years? Not hating on Apple, I just don't see what all the fuss is about the S4 design being "dull" when other major phones don't change as drastically either.

Ttoally agree
I could understand if the aluminum vs plastic debate was made into the subset, lesser point of contention that it is. But multiple reviews, mainly from American websites, have put it front and center as one of the biggest issues and one of the most important if not THE most important distinction between the phones. Like, seriously? Most of these reviews skim over features, barely juggle the cameras, and no real mention of Mobeam. So they insert the classic filler argument to get page views, and no new information is shown, and no real analysis done.
The only thing "cheap" going on here is the reporting. If you're reviewing a unit and you have limited access to the phone and can't do a proper review, just say so. Don't take up paragraphs to explain this "war" that few people really care about whatsoever, and especially don't make up 1/3 the problems with the phone as "it doesn't feel premium"; there's far more concerning issues to list besides that.
And it's not like cases are rare among mainstream buyers: https://www.npd.com/wps/portal/npd/us/news/press-releases/pr_120821/
Custom cases, skins, and other phone accessories make up a multi-billion dollar industry in of itself. The idea that "naked phones" are the standard and everyone should adhere to it is asinine. I would rather put a real kick ass Breaking Bad print on the back cover of my Galaxy S4 then use the generic black mist for instance.
Due to all the hype, I went out the other day to check out the HTC One and I was honestly underwhelmed. Premium feel? I don't think so. Maybe I'm weird but the One actually kind of felt like plastic to me, LOL~ The aluminum isn't even very solid and dense and it felt only a bit more thicker than my can of Rockstar I drink every day. If HTC were gonna do aluminum, they should've at least used higher quality aluminum like the one on the iPhone 5. At least the iPhone 5 does feel a bit premium. I appreciate aluminum for my car's suspension parts but don't care for it on my phone.
Sure the HTC One looks premium but I would feel bad covering up that "premium" look with a case. But if I don't put it in a case, I'll feel even worse when it gets scratched. If any dust gets under you case, its going to slaughter the aluminum finish on the One.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Because people are dumb.
Most of my previous phones were aluminum and *solid*... That's no indication of durability as screen breaks and dents are still commonplace with metal phones. Removable battery, cooler to hold, lighter, less prone to visible scratches etc.
A vast majority of smartphone users put there phones in hideous cases anyway so the entire *premium feel* argument is fluff.
Bottom line something feeling more dense doesn't means is better quality. Just pure subjective nonsense.
If htc, sony, and apple fanboys dont bash the design, what else they have to bring down samsung? No nothing, samsung is way beyond all of them in rest of the departments.

Every time someone uses a car metaphor, it's almost always complete rubbish. Aside from the fact that it's the paint you're scratching on the car, even if it were all aluminum, the "fix" doesn't carry over to a phone. You going to use chemical treatment/sanding on your phone to help with those scratches? The alternative is you send it back for a replacement (and warranties normally don't cover tiny scratches on the phone), or cover up the scratches with a case/skin (and then what's the point?).

It's just way too hard for some of them to accept that in some circles the One is being touted as the better phone.
What the SGS 4 wins at, it's a fractional win. What the One wins at, it's almost a night and day difference. IE: Speaker quality, call quality, audio capturing capability & design. And no amount of crying is going to change that.

Yeah, HTC is breaking ground with those 2 million units. Samsung's shipping it's next 10 million batch soon I believe, after several carriers sold out of pre-orders. Keep telling yourself the speakers and aluminum design are all you need to have a good phone while the rest of us enjoy the aspects that "don't matter" like camera resolution, sensors, good software features, expandable memory, removable battery, screen size, headphone quality, Mobeam tech, and better hardware all around.
But you can record some really fly videos at the Slipknot concert, so there's that.

There are two reasons why a member comes to a forum
1. He is somewhat interested in the phone of that forum ( I never visited the HTC one v forum for example cause I'm not interested in it)
2. Cause he/she wants to troll ( I wouldn't troll at a One V forum cause it doesn't compare with the S4 for example)

I don't care to change his mind, really. Just pulling up the facts; you can nip at the heel all you want but competition usually implies near-equal standing, and last I checked, there's a 157 billion dollar difference between the two companies, and one is posting poor results this quarter while the other is gaining. You're right, you fanboys are pretty comical.

Definitely some interesting reviews . Not quite sure what to think yet besides that its an ok spare battery . The way i use it is i just swap my 2 batteries out so i never really need my phone on the charger . I just finished my first cycle and i noticed that the last 10 percent lasted me a LONGG time. I'm really beginning to feel that there must be some individuals posting inside these Zerolemon threads that are from the competition side. I say this because I finally got my 3000mah Zerolemon today and I don't have any bulging issues.
I was getting anxious reading all the negative impressions and reviews, feeling fully ready to return the Zerolemon and just buy the OEM battery and charging kit with my 50% coupon.
And to make it worse, my delivery was behind schedule and I only got the battery today (I was supposed to get it on the 5th).
To my pleasant surprise, the battery went in just fine with the sticker intact and the cover snapped on with no bulge. Just to make sure my tactile ability and vision was working correctly, I even had my wifey and mom examine the phone without telling them I had a non-OEM battery inside. Neither of them detected or felt any bulges.
It was, however, more difficult to seat the battery in compared to oem, especially the lower-left corner. I expected super-snugness but it wasnt as tight and bad as I expected. In fact, I had a harder time fitting in the 7500mah battery when I tried to install it for the first time.
I dont know why I'm not experiencing the bulging problems as others. My phone was one of the first batches that went out during the preorder period. Even my 3000mah Zerolemon battery must be one of the first batches because I placed my order for it the day the battery became available and it was shipped out the very next day (although I received my battery so late compared to others).
I do have one theory, though, as to why I may not be affected. Maybe it's because when Zerolemon assembled my particular battery unit, they tightly and flushly wrapped the sticker around the battery, enabling smooth installation.
I'm not saying that all the people who are complaining about the bulging problem are liars and paid-off people. But I have a hunch that we do have some of that type of people mixed in here. And I dont think it's a far fetched idea. After all, the aftermarket battery market is a big and lucrative one and I'm sure there are some desperate and deceitful business people out there trying hard to muck up the competition by spreading FUD to promote themselves.
Anyhow, enough about that and now it's time to see if this battery offers some improvement over the OEM.

Didn't get mine today.... Hopefully tomorrow so I can do some testing on my only day off. I'll be sure to post a mini review and hopefully I get them without a bulge. If anything I'll be going with stock with the 50%
Yeah I've been waiting till it goes to 0. I'm on second cycle now

Yeah. Couldnt agree more. I have no bulge..make sure to let it die to 0 then charge up to 100 multiple times

I think I had a little over 2.5 hours of screen time here. I love this battery. It easily gets me through the day without having to worry about car chargers, etc. I would definitely recommend this to anyone not looking to add the bulge of the big daddy they sell .

Good to hear. Also looks like you have verizon s4 like me. It seems like the people with the verizon model are having no bulge issues.

Nice results. 400mAH isn't alot, but i think it helps for the people that don't stare at their phone 6-8hrs a day. Times where I'd usually be at 20% im now at 40-50% now.
First full day was a nice surprise. I got 19 hours (2 hours screen-on time) to 20% remaining, whereas I usually get to 14 hours with the same usage. Everyone's usage patterns are different so I wouldn't focus on the absolute # of hours but rather just the lift from the stock battery. Definitely worth the $12 from Amazon.

**All S4 owners please read this**

Hi guys,
So I did some testing on batteries for the S3 and it seemed to get positive feedback from fellow XDA members. I was wondering how many people would be interested in the testings for the S4. I buy most of the batteries myself (which costs a lot of money and I am not asking for donations). I just want to help as many S4 owners on buying the right battery. If you would like me to do similar tests please reply in this thread. If it gets enough replies I'll begin buying the batteries asap and start posting results one by one in a new thread(hopefully it'll get stickied).
Thanks in advance

The S4 tests will be similar in fashion.
That would be great.. Hope you the best

But there are already many threads about people testing batteries, what would make yours any different than the others that are already on here?
I'd definitely appreciate it, your thread back in the S3 days helped me out.

It would be great if there was just one place where you could find all the stats. There are so many batteries out there. And sure people write reviews about them already. But all those tests where under different circumstances and not at all comparable.
So yes I would really like it when there was just one thread that ruled them all...

PS: Please make a standard test routine.
For example, 3 hours of pure standby time, 1 hour of heavy gaming, 1 hour watching video, and some other stuff.
Also be sure to calibrate your battery right and let it settle for a day before every test. And last but not least, keep everything the same, no switching ROM, no switching kernel, network mode and Wifi both on. Be consistent...

Tester
I am willing to test anything. I have been a tester for a few prototype cases (some sucked Ballz) LOL. But, I love aftermarket batteries and would be able to give it a fair shake!
Would love to help out
Count me in for testing. New S4 owner, but experienced geek.

I think it would be great if it's not too much trouble to go through. Having a guide to ascertain the best battery for my needs would be very helpful.
I actually wish there were a lightweight, smaller capacity battery for everyday use, since I'm rarely in a situation where I don't have charging access. I haven't put them on a scale, but in the hand the battery weighs almost as much as the whole phone! A battery with roughly half the capacity would probably knock half an ounce or so off the overall weight. Probably wishful thinking on my part.

Lol I hate how light this phone is without a case I feel like I'm going to snap it in half.

Hehe. Different strokes for different folks! The relatively light weight of the S4 was a key selling point to me, and also a reason I don't use a case. But for people like you, you can always add a case, bigger capacity battery, etc., but there's really no way to make it lighter. Maybe a helium tank!

Yeah lol people have said their S3 battery works for the s4 although I'm not sure how much a few hundred mah really makes a difference in wait. If you're really serious you take the back cover off and use a piece of electrical tape to hold the battery in.

Lol exactly what I was thinking but I did this on my old G2X when the tabs on my back cover bent/broke. If you have it in a case you'll never notice.
I've just recently purchased Hyperion's 5200mAh battery from Amazon. It will arrive within the next week or so. I can do some extensive testing on that and report my results if anyone would like.
I thought I read somewhere that a Nexus battery would be an upgrade and a same fit? Is this true or are there any other OEM batteries that fit for more capacity? I know there are a couple aftermarket batteries that dont require a back cover but are kind of unreliable from what I'm reading. I remember having the htc sensation and upgrading it to the evo 3d battery, same fit but like 500 more mah.
This would be great, keep up the good work!
I'd like to see a test/review. Been thinking about buying one of the 7600 options that comes with a case.

Battery Case

any word or rumors about battery cases?

Zerolemon probably will but no announcement so far. I remember when they asked for testers in the Pixel 2 XL forums.

Probably so. However, if it's like the one for the P2XL....it's about the size of a brick! I tested that version. While it did it's job as advertised, the device was simply huge, heavy, and didn't fit in any pocket other than my coat

I got the zerolemon for my 3xl and it was good, but I just didn't use it a lot so I'm undecided if I'll get it again for my new 4xl.
99% of my time is spent somewhere I can readily charge my phone, but for those rare occasions (concerts, yankee games etc.) I did like having it.

the 3xl was much slimmer and useable, albeit at the expense of capacity. I never found myself needing the monster capacity that the 2xl (and other older models) had, so the 3xl was a great case for me when I knew I'd have heavy usage without access to plug in. hopefully they'll do the same thing for the Pixel 4, especially now that they don't have to worry about the fingerprint sensor
I'm rocking the ZL on my 3 xl right now. It is heavy. But it will make my 4xl feel light. I keep it on every day and love it. I did email them asking to test when available. They said they were unsure of a release at this point. I really wish they made a rigged version like they do for the iPhone.
Anyone ever used I blades? They already have one for order or pre-order.
There is one on Amazon now. 5,000mah $50

I would hold off on ordering the one on Amazon if I knew zerolemon would make a "rugged juicer" brick case. Lol
