any word or rumors about battery cases?

Zerolemon probably will but no announcement so far. I remember when they asked for testers in the Pixel 2 XL forums.

Probably so. However, if it's like the one for the P2XL....it's about the size of a brick! I tested that version. While it did it's job as advertised, the device was simply huge, heavy, and didn't fit in any pocket other than my coat

Zerolemon knows their cases aren't pretty. LOL. If you want that, that's Morphie's job.

ZL has been doing much better lately.

I got the zerolemon for my 3xl and it was good, but I just didn't use it a lot so I'm undecided if I'll get it again for my new 4xl.
99% of my time is spent somewhere I can readily charge my phone, but for those rare occasions (concerts, yankee games etc.) I did like having it.

the 3xl was much slimmer and useable, albeit at the expense of capacity. I never found myself needing the monster capacity that the 2xl (and other older models) had, so the 3xl was a great case for me when I knew I'd have heavy usage without access to plug in. hopefully they'll do the same thing for the Pixel 4, especially now that they don't have to worry about the fingerprint sensor

I'm rocking the ZL on my 3 xl right now. It is heavy. But it will make my 4xl feel light. I keep it on every day and love it. I did email them asking to test when available. They said they were unsure of a release at this point. I really wish they made a rigged version like they do for the iPhone.

Anyone ever used I blades? They already have one for order or pre-order.

There is one on Amazon now. 5,000mah $50

I would hold off on ordering the one on Amazon if I knew zerolemon would make a "rugged juicer" brick case. Lol

It's soo chunky . Why a swappable battery? There's so much better options for other phones. It's sad.

Yeah it's a bit chunky. The thing that interests me is that it actually protects the phone as well.
Whereas I want the slimmest addon possible. Never used a case. Hate them. But more battery would put me onto it.if only it was reasonable in size.

Yep personal issues I guess. I've never even scratched a phone I've owned. Just depends on the user.

you've just brought the wrath a concrete surface onto your latest device by making that statement. the phone gods are coming for you.
seriously though, i have the case, and it works perfect with my AT&T HOX+. yes, plus. I got it on shopandroid with free shipping and a 15% off promo code, that can be found with a quick google search.
instructions and website say you need to charge and drain 3 cycles and overcharge for at least 3 hours before obtaining optimal performance.
so, ill post an update if anyone is interested what kind of results i'm getting.
I'm glad I found this. If it is slimmer than a Mugen 3200, I might have to order one of these instead. I've heard great things about Seido.

I like seidio.
It's definitely a lot slimmer, but packs almost half or quarter of the juice of the mugen
On the other hand, it offers protection on the face of the phone, as the mugen just clasps onto the sides.

diff'rnt strokes...
The lack of thickness is my very least feature about this phone. So, I must say that I am a HUGE fan of the seidio and I will be contacting them about their innocell line. My plan is to check on the form factor, see if they based it off of any other battery( to see if there is a thicker battery that will match and give proper charge level, etc) check the inside of the case to see what lays behind the battery, and design a simple new system for loading batteries from the rear. I will probably do that even if it cant be upgraded. This phone needs to last for 2 years and tearing that case apart 4 times a week just won't cut it.
Me and Mr dremel have become very very close since phones started being ruined by people who prefer a smaller phone over one that works. Keep dialing down your cpu, turning down your brightness, dumping hours into modding software and the like, and avoiding any use without a charger. I'm essentially just the same except I've never bricked a phone. I have played a whole lot of first person shooters and watched lots and lots of video, NEVER WORRIED ABOUT BATTERY LIFE . I bought this phone because it's an awesome toy and keeps me connected fast.
I commend all the great things you guys come up with. I've rooted several phones just to get better battery readings. Different strokes. Peace!
I really wish they would come out with a white version of that case.

What to get now?

So my AT & T One X is no longer holding a charge; I'm pretty much keeping it plugged in all day. What has everyone else replaced their phone with? I'm not terribly excited by anything I see, but probably shouldn't wait much longer...

I replaced my battery for less than 10 dollars. It wasn't TOO hard to do. At least not nearly as hard as replacing the LCD.
My battery bit the dust too. I bought the OnePlus One, it's a really impressive phone, and cheap too.

Thanks; I'll do a little looking into this ... seems like there are some videos with walkthroughs ...
Gonna be picking up a G3 pretty soon, my battery is still pretty decent though. Admittedly, I held an Iphone 6 and thought about crossing over to the dark side. There is no real customization, but it's a solid device.
I have had my One XL since it was released. Thinking about getting the Moto G 2014. But it seems like the performance is comparable to the One XL. I also don't want to spend money on something that is not better than what I have now. So still on the fence.

Overall love

Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Google Pixel XL, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Google Pixel XL is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
This is my best device, so far out of the 16 android devices I owned. Almost scored it a four only for two reasons wish it was bigger and the speaker is not as good as having two front facing speakers. I know people like to complain can not drop it in a lake (do not get it wet then), can not replace batteries annoying but no big deal, no SD card (128 Gig) is more than enough. So far I used the device heavily and got 20 hours, the battery life while I am always saying I like more is better than my Nexus 6
I came from an HTC M8...loved that phone....but I have to say I have never not had a rooted phone before the Pixel XL...and it is the best phone I have ever owned. Battery life has been amazing. Phone is snappy. I love Nougat 7.1 100%. I don't even feel I need to have root at the moment. Would be nice but to be honest I'll be fine with stock Android. Google did an amazing job with this phone. I was very skeptical on the price and specs. But I know I made the right decision!
P.S. I did go with the Verizon Pixel XL, cuz Google has been out of stock. Got it on launch day. Was also much cheaper to go with Verizon for my work discount.
Edit: the only complaint I do have is the speaker...my M8 had boomsound and was great. Other than that...I love this phone!

I have both the Nexus 6P and Pixel XL. To me, the Pixel XL feels like a "cheap" version of the 6P. Does anyone else feel this?
The camera on the Pixel XL is amazing, but when you pick it up and hold it, it feels like one of those fake mobiles they have on display in shops. There's no premium feel like the 6P.

Come on, seriously? The Nexus 6P always felt cheap to me.. from the not perfectly aligned back creases, to the cheap smudgy glass on the front, and the doubtful and fragile built around the middle. First thing you think when holding Pixel XL is 'damn, this thing is solid!' at least IMHO

amazing
I just got it today. Came back from holiday and it was waiting. Awesome, awesome device. I have one issue. The vibration. It is so weak I can hardly hear it's working. It doesn't seem to be intense at all. For me it is a hardware issue. Everything is switched on. Any ideas?
Best android phone I've ever owned, absolutely love it.
Received mine yesterday and I'm genuinely impressed. I've owned more phones than I care to admit to, but I'm honestly even more impressed with this phone than I thought I'd be. I still have my HTC10 as well which, I'm also absolutely in love with. For now, the XL has all my attention. Kudos Google.

Need a Pixel 2+

I love my Pixel 2, but really wish it had a bigger battery.
Ideally I would like a Pixel 2 with a 4000 mAh battery. I would be fine with with it being thicker and heavier.
I won't go to a "XL" because that phone is way too tall and won't fit nicely in pockets and some phone holders. I found that first hand on my Pixel 1 XL and Galaxy S8+.
Oh well, 1st world problems I guess.

Ask Me Anything on the Google Pixel 3 XL and Pixel Stand

Hello everyone,
I'm the Editor-in-Chief of the XDA Portal. I received the Pixel 3 XL in Just Black for review from Google. I also have the Pixel Stand and Pixel USB-C Earbuds.
I posted part 1 of my review here: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-3-xl-camera-software-design-pixel-stand/
Have posted a ton of little tidbits of information here: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-3-google-pixel-3-xl-minor-features/
And my announcement article also has a ton of information: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-3-google-pixel-3-xl-specs-features-pricing-availability/
But if you have any other questions, I'm happy to answer them now that the review embargo has been lifted.
How long does it take to fully charge the Pixel 3 Xl using the the stand ?

I've only tested one full charge cycle with the Pixel Stand, but it took about 2 hours and 37 minutes to go from 5% to 100% battery. About 59 minutes to go from 5% to 50%.
Does audio sound '40%' louder, as Google claims? (I know it doesn't, but is the difference appreciable?)
I visited Best Buy to try them out, but the display units are crippled, and have no internet, and no pre-loaded media, so i could not compare anything other than ringtone previews. Of course, those only play out of one speaker, so I couldnt compare at all really.
Does the 3 XL ship with 9.1 or slightly updated version of Android 9, compared to what current Pixel 2's have ? Dark mode is rumored to be coming in more stock Google apps, like the Phone, the Google Now news feed panel, etc... is that on the Pixel 3 ?

It doesn't ship with Android 9.1, but it does run a newer version of Android 9 than what's in AOSP. Fun fact: when you enable "dark theme", the Google Feed (now called Discover) does seem to react to it and turn dark mode on. I believe that's new with Feed.

I don't see the Pixel 4 getting rid of the notch, but I do want to see the bottom bezel mostly eliminated.
Faster wireless charging. Google came out the gate with a 10W wireless charger in the same week that Razer came out with a 15W one and Huawei is coming out with a 15W one also tomorrow.
Can't speak about battery life yet, but more mAhs can't hurt.
4GBs of RAM is starting to show its age, especially for anyone who plays mobile games. 6GBs of RAM would be a nice bump.
What do u think about the scatches on back issue? Is it really an issue or people have blown ot out of proportion?

Physically yes, they fit. They are almost identical in size.
However, the 3 has buttons in different positions, so if the case has button covers, it likely wont work too well.

Yep, this is XDA where the first question on this page should have been "How did you root it?" Keep in mind not, if it was rooted. We shouldn't have to ask that...

Nobody has used it long enough to say if it's really an issue. I baby my devices so it's less likely to happen to me, but we'll find out once it's in the hands of the general public.

Yes, my Pixel 2 XL's Fabric Case does fit on my Pixel 3 XL. However, the volume rocker is a bit loose. Also, the position of the top microphone is different on the Pixel 3 XL and Pixel 2 XL, so you'll be blocking out one of the 3 microphones by using a Pixel 2 XL case on a Pixel 3 XL.

Unfortunately, I, and nobody else really, have used it long enough to give you an accurate estimate of the battery life. My Pixel 2 XL's battery life was decent (5-6 hours of SoT), and I don't expect worse on the Pixel 3 XL.
Thx for the info, can you keep us updated once you get more info?
