well by heavy i mean it has some glitches when opening apps and the wireless takes time to connect sometimes an error word located near the small box when you check the wireless from the setting. two days ago i upgraded the firmware from kies directly to XXKP3, pda:XXKPH but when it reached 57% i had to leave the house for an hour and when i returned the internet was down and the upgrade supposedly finished. some changes in the interface like unlocking and calling but the same issues above remained. how can i check if the firmware were probably upgraded and my pervious question how to fix the glitches. i know this is too much to ask my friend.
thank you

i checked the ROM here but i'm afraid that they aren't official ones. if they are i upgraded it to XXKP3 through kies, should i flash with the same version or a different one?
thanks

[i9003][2.3.5][XXKPM] WiFi Issue after Firmware Update

After using I9003XXKPE for quite sometime, I updated to the I9003XXKPM firmware and found the following Pros and Cons:
Pros:
1. Better Touch Sensitivity. Very fast and slick.
2. HomeScreen and AppDrawer Auto-Cycle i.e. if you have 3 home screens, you do not have to press the Home button or go like 3-2-1 to navigate to the HomeScreen. You can straight go to 1-2-3-1-2.....
3. Improved GPS
4. Blue under-glow in menu in vertical scroll. Visually appealing.
5. Big improvement in voice recognition.
Cons (BUG):
1. Intermittent WiFi Disconnection. Almost Once Every minute.
2. WiFi goes into sleep (most of the times) when the sceen is turned off. (With the WiFi always ON policy in Settings)
The Update Procedure Followed: See Here
Since this is a Samsung Official ROM, Requesting users to leave feedback if they are facing similar issues.
Tq anyway you should post this feedback under XXKPM thread..do not open new thread because this is not Development thread. Kindly please read the forum rules.. thanks

Please excuse me AmirolAhmad for creating a new thread. I am new to this forum and have not gone into the details of the forum rules.
Also this is a serious issue with i9003 which many people are facing after update to 2.3.5 XXKPM and needs resolution.
But, I will remember to create threads in the proper place. Regards.

Dear Shriomman,
No issues with the file. Downloaded it thrice including once from a mirror. But the same problem keeps cropping up.

Dear klau7,
Indeed it is working fine with XXKPH. But once it's updated to XXKPM, all hell breaks loose. Kindly detail me any other problem you are having. Also post if you have found any solution to the matter. Thank you.

@Sono, Err--the link in OP is made by me -o.o- Look at the guide. LOL I've used the same flashing method, and so have other's but certainly some units have differences when it comes to this, hardware vs software incompatibility is what my last call would be. XXKPH works fine for me. Don't worry this is not an issue only for I9003, I9000 has numerous complains along with other phones of 2.3.5's Wi-Fi issue
i have the same issue too. hard to update any of my apps from the marketplace. gets disconnected almost every time and then download fails. have we found any solution yet?
I also have a big issue, but hapened after restoring a nandroid backup from kpm, now i cant start wifi, it says error, also when i use the command* #*#526#*#* it cant load the driver.... what can i do?
Thanks!

LOL. How could I miss that.
Firstly, Thank you Misledz for such a wonderful thread on Guide to Firmware update on i9003.
Secondly, I am unable to understand how the WiFi resets on this firmware.
You have mentioned hardware-software compatibility issue but "this" XXKPM 2.3.5 Firmware is an official Samsung and is meant for all i9003 handsets.
There are no customizations or Porting involved. So how? Please help me understand. Thanking you in advance.
no problems here.
wifi works fine.
always flash 2X
i have same issues and try two times flash.
wish me luck.
Actually the wifi issue pertains with some hardware's, Even if i flashed twice I doubt it will work. But will attempt it regardless.
@sonopixy, Well put it this way, Samsung fixes one thing, breaks another ;P There are driver's that have a compatiblity range. Probably the hardware code for our WiFi didn't match or isn't compatible.

i've already tried flashing more than just twice :-( does not work. all the more reason for us to look forward to CM i suppose. and to those whose wifi is working fine, glad for you! no offense, but it would be really good if someone came up with help/suggestion/solutions instead of just reporting that its working fine for you, because we already know that! LOL
I have not encountered Wifi issue till today. What kind of bug it is? You mean you lose wifi signal and you have to reboot the device to get it working again, or it will connect automatically after some time?
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA Premium App
Wifi network disconnect/connect always on 1-2 min, i see this issue only on kpm rom. Big file canot be downloaded via wifi. Local lan on es explorer costantly reconnect and lose remotely folder.....etc

Did you check your wifi policy?

[Q] Has the rebooting issue been fixed?

Is there any ROM that fixed the random reboots or is there any info about the official update? I can't keep my tablet plugged in the whole time.
No.

Well, it's weird because a lot of people tried to fix the problem without finding the solution. Is there any way to download Honeycomb now? ICS isn't that useful with all the reboots.

Assuming you're on a NVFlashable tablet...
NVFlash: http://androidroot.mobi/download/nvflash.zip
Honeycomb (WW version): http://downloads.tabletroms.com/zerofeel/Transformer/86513/WW/Windows.zip
Guevor's Test kernel eliminated the problem for me, been up and running for 24 hours now without a reboot.

Could you please link me to the thread of the kernel? I find rooting TF101 kind of harder than rooting Galaxy S2 for example so I want to see if rooting again is worth it.

That is a custom ROM right?
I think so! Can you suggest me something or maybe a hardware problem? Thanks
Doubt it's hardware. Try another ROM or kernel.

No because I do not have that device, so I cannot intelligently recommend one. Plus everyone likes something different in their custom ROMs. Just find one that looks like it has few bugs in the change-log.
Here is all I could really find with fast searching
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32953254
It doesn't look like that tablet has a lot of development anyways, where did you find the custom ROM you're currently using?

[Q] Help/advice if it is possible. Thanks

Hello. I had my i9003 rooted since 9 months ago and it works perfectly.
Like 3 weeks ago I updated the firmware trough the phone updating tool and the problems started:
-Battery started to last only 3 hours.
So I tried to find a kernel and a rom to solve it.
I installed thefrankestain mod and the bam kernel and it started to turn off suddenly all the time. I freaked out and I try to find "the most stable rom" in forums... finally I found a gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware with recovery and I use it
I have this data:
firmware version
2.36
base
I9003XXLE4
kernel
2.6.35.7-CL1143078 [email protected] 156 #1
compilation number
GINGERBREAD.XWLF2
I calibrated the battery and all that stuff and the phone keeps turning off when I use an app more than 5 minutes!! I hate that.
I don't even know how that data mean (my phone data), I know I am a noob and a loser as I have just watch in the xda video but I will be glad if someone give some thoughts of what is happening to my phone, if it is any solution and
if anyone recomend me any kernel/rom combination that avoid my problem. (links will be helpful as well)
Maybe it's your battery that has gone bad. Is you battery swollen? Can you put it on a flat surface and see if you can rotate is easily?

First time I flashed a ROM was years ago and it kinda ruined my phone, it had bugs etc. Nowadays I see no reason to flash a ROM in a brand new phone that has no issues and costs 700€ unless you feel adventurous . I might flash a ROM later when it will stop receiving updates and there's a stable ROM.
