Hello. I had my i9003 rooted since 9 months ago and it works perfectly.
Like 3 weeks ago I updated the firmware trough the phone updating tool and the problems started:
-Battery started to last only 3 hours.
So I tried to find a kernel and a rom to solve it.
I installed thefrankestain mod and the bam kernel and it started to turn off suddenly all the time. I freaked out and I try to find "the most stable rom" in forums... finally I found a gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware with recovery and I use it
I have this data:
firmware version
2.36
base
I9003XXLE4
kernel
2.6.35.7-CL1143078 [email protected] 156 #1
compilation number
GINGERBREAD.XWLF2
I calibrated the battery and all that stuff and the phone keeps turning off when I use an app more than 5 minutes!! I hate that.
I don't even know how that data mean (my phone data), I know I am a noob and a loser as I have just watch in the xda video but I will be glad if someone give some thoughts of what is happening to my phone, if it is any solution and
if anyone recomend me any kernel/rom combination that avoid my problem. (links will be helpful as well)
Maybe it's your battery that has gone bad. Is you battery swollen? Can you put it on a flat surface and see if you can rotate is easily?

:good: I ll get a new one and then I will ask again about kernel/rom combinations. I have just started to learn about rom changes and i like it!!!

Hey all. I just bought a used (but in great condition) captivate off of ebay. Unfortunately it is of the #1008 batch.
I did test the 3 button and 2 button + usb modes and they both work.
Does this mean I will be fine putting a new rom on, or will this #1008 problem present itself somewhere down the road?
Last time I put an alternate ROM on a phone was way back on a Tmobile SDA, and hopefully it will be soon when I do my next one
Thanks

Well if they are working then that's good..I suggest that if you are going to try a custom ROM you try the COG versions as it has the three button fix built in and should be the safest one to use...Just read and understand before you try any custom ROM and you should be fine...

It says I897UCJF6
hmm... i ahev batch 1009 and i have perfectly working 3button mode
If it works, it works. Maybe not all from that batch have the problem. Doesn't mean it is totally unbrickable. You can still break the three button on any batch phone. But now we also have the hardware jig option so you're pretty well covered either easy. Go flash!

Then you are probably fine.
Just to be sure don't revert to JF6 stock without the 3 button fix

Alright, thanks guys. Your advice helps a lot. Another question though about reverting.
After I flash to a new rom, for what reason would I might revert?

It gets old, there are problems with that rom, newer better roms came out that you want to try, or you just want to go to stock. etc

So if I ever want to change to a new ROM in the future, I will need to go back to stock before I do that?

It's generally a good idea to revert to stock and wipe your data between ROMs in order to assure one install doesn't interfere with another.

well by heavy i mean it has some glitches when opening apps and the wireless takes time to connect sometimes an error word located near the small box when you check the wireless from the setting. two days ago i upgraded the firmware from kies directly to XXKP3, pda:XXKPH but when it reached 57% i had to leave the house for an hour and when i returned the internet was down and the upgrade supposedly finished. some changes in the interface like unlocking and calling but the same issues above remained. how can i check if the firmware were probably upgraded and my pervious question how to fix the glitches. i know this is too much to ask my friend.
thank you

Probably one of the noobist questions to start off with but I need the answer or pointed in the right direction if at all possible, many many thanks in advance.
As you can see by the tittle i already have my galaxy tab 2 7.0 rooted (3113) and totally blanked on rooting with cwm. So how can I do it without having to restart the root process all over again?
Again much thanks is given for all help.
I used mobile Odin to flash the cwm zip back. That worked for me.

Mobile Odin will work... However you'll want to run it in odin and flash CWM.
No you don't have to start the root process over again. I am assuming your stock rooted?

Ya im still on the stock rom, I was wondering if I could just flash it over
Using Odin. Thanks for the hekp! Anyine got some ideas on what the best rom is for the SGT2?
I spent the last year solely working with only iOS (learning purposes), and let me say, dam it feels good to be back with my fellew Androidians.

You can go for CM10.1..But I personally like stock..So rooted with unbloated Stock.
I kept reading that stock is best still for maintaining gaming levels (gaming usually pushes a system to its limits more so that anything else). I only just got my sgt2 so im in no rush. Yet

From what I've read IR Blaster is only working on select ROMs. Dunno if that's important to you.
After by stupidity formatted system/data/sdcard my gtab2 doesn't boot any more, just stays in sammy logo! I was rooted in cwm 6.0.2.7 and cm10.1.1, but due to storage space problems i formatted everything.Power+vol up or down don't give download or recovery, only thing i get is adb interface when connecting to my laptop.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Ups.... read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1507894
....and be sure to run sdk as administrator. Good luck!
(in worst case: if you don't manage to restore it yourself, Samsung service will probably fix it for you for few bucks)

Ha, ha - cool, sometimes it is easier than it seems to be. I know that trick with the cable from experience with my own Tab, look I've just posted it few days ago to one guy:

Cool place, still nice there, just walked nearby it today
Just one hint (regarding your signature): I've also been running my Tab on CM10.1.1 until yesterday, but now the new build of CM10.2 (nightly 20130826 flashed) seems to work great. Try if you like the idea. The battery life was never a problem with the p5110, but on my phone (i9000) CM10.2 gives me about double battery life that the CM10.1.1 ever could.

Honestly, I didn't try any of those ROMs. I've liked on the CyanogenMod that just everything worked stable and stuck there.... (except Trebuchet launcher which was crappy, but installing of Apex launcher solved all the problems)
I would appreciate to get your opinion, if you can compare the other ROMs to the CM10.2
Cheers, mate
Good day to everyone!
So, today i have managed to flash cm10.1 for my phone (htc one s ville c2, it the s3 model). It worked fine for the first hour or so. I have installed all my old apps through playstore and then i decided to reboot my phone! So I rebooted it...From that time, I' m experiencing a problem.Everytime the screen locks (turns off) either by it's own or by me (by pressing the power button), when i press again the power button so it can be turned on again, it delays about 10 seconds to do so.
In a line: When I try to unlock my sleeping phone, it delays to wake up for about 10-30 seconds.
Please if you have an idea that might work let me know!
Anyone?

I looked through that thread and you are not the only one to complain about it. Some others said it happened occasionally.
If it persisted I personally would flash a different rom or reflash that one.

The battery life on 10.2 is pretty good in my opinion. I get through the day without any problems even with H+ activated and moderate usage.
That's good to hear! But I have the htc one s ville c2 that's the s3 cpu version! I don't think that the cm10.2 is available for my device! Do you happen to know anything about it?
Edit: I found the rom and I will give it a try possibly in a couple of days to see if the upgrade deserves the try!!
Edit: I found the thread for the rom but I can't find the download link for the 10.2...
