Hello,
I've updated my mpx200 to Windows mobile 6.5 using this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333757
but I have some problems.
Here is my story:
I updated from version 2002 to wm6 and after the whole proces i wanted to start my phone for the last step (reg hive and format storage), I left it about an hour, that procces took to long so I removed the battery and put it back in.
Then I tried again the last step but I was wondering what 'Enable KITL' meant, so I clicked on it, and didn't find it interresting.
I removed the battery again and tried the cell phone on, but nothing happened. I left it a night at the charger and the next day I downgraded to wm2002, it was all working again.
then I upgraded to wm2003, that worked, tried wm2005 did not worked the phone doesn't turn on after I flashed part 2 and 3. After that I have tried wm6 again, but still it does not turn on at the final steps.
It is kind a weird story hope you people get it and hopefully someone can help me!
I really want to try windows mobile 6!
I'm sorry for my bad english i come from the Netherlands.
In order to use wm6.5 on mpx200 you need sd card (i think at least 64mb) because part of the operating system is stored there. Faster the card faster it will run after installation. I think rom supports card to 1gb (mpx 2003 rom supported even 2gb) so be carefulwith that. After flashing sometimes it take around half an hour for phone to boot

Hello All,
I have the TNT 1933 image loaded on my Cingular 8125 and have been running it fine for almost a month with little to no issues. The issues I had were minor kinks here and there but did not hinder the phone usage at all and has been working fine till up to this point. I was reading my e-mails via the exchange setup to my company exchange server and then closed out of it via the task manager and decided to soft reset it. I always soft reset during the morning just because I noticed there are memory leaks and soft-resetting normally resets the memory back to normal. After soft-resetting, it would hang at the Windows Mobile 6 Professional boot loader screen and will not continue. I even left it sitting there thinking it would load but I even let it sit while it drained the whole battery. I then plugged it into the charger and proceeded to soft reset it again and still does the same thing. Yes, I originally flashed it to the Tmobile rom before flashing the Tnt1933 image and yes its both unlocked (forgot the terminology). I tried taking the battery out for awhile thinking it would clear the memory or whatever and that didn't do anything. What I can do though is enter it into the bootloader mode with the 3 color screen but I do not want to reflash since I have important files that were not copied to my SD card. If there is a way for my PC to recognize my phone so I can at least copy the files I need, then I can reflash the OS again via the bootloader screen since I can get to that mode at least.
EDIT- Could this have been caused by the battery mem program overclocked at 247Mhz (the recommended for the 8125)? Since I never installed anything else except the main programs that were included in the image of the TNT 1933, the only thing I could think of was the extended overclock and overtime, corrupted the files from overclocking...just my 2 cents

I highly doubt that batterystatus was what caused this because I have used batterystatus with every ROM I have ever used and have never had this problem.
As much as I hate to say this... As for your important files, you might as well kiss them goodbye because they're already gone. If your device will do nothing buy enter bootloader then the boot sequence on your phone is corrupt and you have no other choice, if you want your phone to work again, but to flash that T-Mobile ROM(or you can flash the 8125 official ROM found HERE.)
I know this isn't what you wanted to hear but you cannot connect to your device from activesync if you can only reach bootloader and nothing else and if the files are not on your storage card, they're gone.
Well, even if you were running Battery status, did you actually do an overclock or did u just leave it on default settings upon installing? OMG I'm gonna cry Those files are like my life I just want to understand how this happened when I installed nothing at all and it had been working fine for almost 4 weeks with no issues. Just went to hell after soft-resetting.
Hi. Looks like Treo 750 forums are almost dead nowadays. But if someone can point me out in the right direction I'll really appreciate it.
I have a Treo 750, it came with WM5, I updated it to WM6 around a year ago. I did an official update, the one we were able to get from the Palm website. I've been very unhappy with it lately. Even after some hard resets, the thing is just slow sometimes, and I would just like to try one of those cooked ROM and see if I can get a some performance improvement, small or not.
So, I found this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=345748
The thread was posted a long time ago so it might be old. If you can point out to newer and/or better cooked/lite roms, thanks .
So, anyway, first step according to everyone is to install HardSPL. And this is as far as I can go. I'm using CheetahUnlocker.exe found in these boards. I put my treo in bootloader mode, then run CheetahUnlocker. Start step 1. But when it is trying to the update, where you see the progress bar, it goes straight to 100%, and then it fails with an error message 207, saying that the image is corrupted. The Treo itself reboots back to the OS.
I've been reading and reading for hours and I haven't been able to do this. I even follow some steps regarding Vista drivers, but that didn't work either. I tried it in XP at work and it didn't work. I always get the same error. I'm seriously lost and I would really like to try a lite ROM.
Is there any other way I can try to install hard spl? Can it be installed via the SD card method. Also, I could just go ahead and install the cooked rom via the SD card method but I wouldn't like to risk my phone that way.
When I reset my phone with the Media button pressed, first I get the tri-color screen for less than 1 sec, then I get a gray window with blue letters that says "Loading" for a few secs, and then I'm back to the try color screen that says:
"Palm Tr
IPL-0.20
Palm Tr
SPL-0.24.0000"
Any ideas? Please I really need help.
No one? I really need help flashing the HardSPL. I thought about trying to install the hardspl via SD, but I read it wouldn't work. Any ideas?
hi, do you format the SD in FAT32 and 512 bytes in your PC??? you must do this before copy de cheeimg.nbh file to SD.
not sure if this is too late but mine was doing the same thing. I switched to a lower capacity SD card and it worked fine. 2GB or less.
I have the same problem, just the 3 collor screen...nothing else. Any ideas??? Please...
Hy,
I ve got the problem that suddenly my TP shows unusually hanging after a few minutes playing around. If i do a softreset then it hangs on the splash screen and nothing happens. I can do a hr then and the same story begins. After tast appeared i flashed some other roms to be sure that its not depending from the rom. Also i restored different backups, with all its the same... i fear that a part of the memory is defect ... Any ideas how to test the memory or other suggestions? thx in advance.... i dont want to use my microwave

Did this happen suddenly or did you do something before it happened (eg install something, etc)?
Mine just today won't turn on, I had it off all day and now it just sits on the splash screen.
Trying some things, if I figure anything out I'll let you know.
No, i didnt do anything special today or yesterday, but a week ago i set it up completly new, cause i had equal problems.... to set it up completly new with all progs and cosmetic "operations" costs me nearly one week so i dont want to do it again ...
If i find a way to solve, i will post here too

I flashed EnergyROM (booted into the tricolor screen by holding down Power and Volume Down), and it seems to be working.
Youre the lucky one, congrats...
I have a similar problem. The only change/new install is the updated version of Microsoft MyPhone. Now my TP will not connect to my telephone provider: T-Mobile. It just tries and tries but never connects.
Also, sometimes when I try to open any program, I get the error message that the certificate cannot be read. a soft reset fixes this but this problem is driving me crazy.
Is this another Microsoft update ****up?
same here: today more than 3 times problems with certificate or similar message ... thinking of the last timebomb in my old romeos rom ... was no fun..
Borisku,
Are you running Microsoft MyPhone? If so, did you do the software update within the past 4 days?
i do, but i didnt update ... ??? This morning my TP hung again, and i tried to sr it.... seemed to work until tp vibrates 3 times and then nothing anymore, no screen, no button, nothing
.... took out battery, left it out for 30 minutes, then i could HR again and restore my backup... since then no problems.... do you think it could run too long, getting too hot or something like this??
Greetz
Boris..
Edit: was too fast just 1 minute after i wrote that, tp hangs while in connection to active sync.... hr now, will test how it runs with pure romeos2 for 2 days now... rport follows
Edit II: The last days i always flashed from SD Card... i will now try to flash ROMEoS2 from PC ... maybe theres a difference, especially cause the text at the end of flashing from SD was confused. there were mor than one words at one place one the screen, and i found i typing on the screen RaphSimg.nbh, although the file is named as usual raphimg.nbh (without the "s" in the centre...)
I hope i m not too early: i think i solved the prob, maybe that helps somebody & prevents a tp from ending in a microwave
in preparing to bury my tp in the microwave i flashed back to the german stock rom or - correct - to the official update that can be loaded from the HTC Homepage; it contains not only the Rom but also radio & Splash Screen. I flashed it to my tp and was prepared to undo Hard SPL, but it gave it a chance.... and it ran like a VW beetle, flashed back to ROMeOS2, it runs.... i will wait till tomorrow & hope that it will not change to freeze or change clock Font colour partly as it did before...
Hope it will help somebody...
Greetz
Boris
Edit: its now 14th of december and it runs like a charm... seems like the failure is gone through flashing to stock ROM & then flashing ROMeOS again
Still is okay ...
Hi everyone. Great site keep it up.
I just bought a HTC S710 and I need a couple of pointers.
First of all I've got a problem which I hope you can solve for me. Whenever my phone is off and I try to turn it on, it reaches the startup screen where it says "windows mobile" and then it shuts down. The only way for my phone to reach the home page and not shut down is:
1. If the sim card is not in. (Phone boots up reaches the home page and everything is functional)
2. Or if it is plugged in the charger/USB cable, sim card/no sim card.
Another small issue I have is that sometimes it shuts down automatically, which is inconvenient.
I would appreciate if you could help me with this problem
hi, i dont know if this would be a fix or if you would be willing to do it but if you install a custom rom then it could fix the problem and make your phone way better to use aswell. I'm using fireburned's 6.5 rom and its great, would recommend it. good luck with fixing it!
Yeah I am wanting to install a cooked ROM, but I have a kind of problem. I'm running linux and I can't seem to find a program to install the ROMs through linux. Got any ideas
sorry i dont know, i dont really know much about this i just did it with my phone and hoped it would work, so im lucky i didnt brick it to be honest. was it the SDA unlock which didnt work or the uspl?
no no no. its the programs. They are written to work on Windows systems. I'm running Ubuntu and I can't find these programs for my OS
Use a Windows PC to do USPL, after that you can always flash from SD-Card.
I'll go by a friends house later on to use his computer to install the USPL.
This "glitch" though is really weird, I tried to see if my phone would start up if I had the hands free plugged in, and it did start up. . So as long as something is plugged into the USB the phone will start up with the sim in. If nothing is plugged in, it won't

I'm going through this problem for almost 4 weeks, just when I was away of a computer by 1 mile..
I was getting problems to connect to internet with my PDA, and nothing worked.
Then some apps stopped working (like Messenger, Internet Explorer, and such included apps) and I decided to format my phone by using the HardSPL method. Installed everything again, and then everything was working fine.
After a few days, the buttons stopped working: Couldn't answer calls, or use D-Pad, couldn't get off standby mode and so on. Every time I needed to use my phone, I got to hardreset the PDA, wait it to power on, and use it. It was VERY annoying. So, formatted again and installed a new ROM. Everything worked fine and after a few days, again.. Couldn't get off standby mode.
I read somewhere that it happens when the SD card becomes faulty. It was. I formatted the SD and copied all the contents again. Formatted again the phone, and installed everything again. After a few minutes (yes, minutes), the phone wasn't responding again. I got to plug the headphones and press the HF key and sometimes it got back from standby.
When phone is kind of.. "null", I can't receive calls. SMS are rejected. But the power, Bluetooth and Wifi light keeps blinking as it was active.
I'm using a temporary phone right now. I can't handle it anymore. But I miss my PDA :S
A bit more info: I'm using Spanish NiAX WM6.5.3 ROM. And first ROM was Spanish NiAX WM6.5.1. Maybe it's a ROM fault. I don't know :S
Suggestions?
Thanks in advance..
PS: Read some other threads about this. Switched 3G/2G, changed SIMCARD and SDCard and still not working
EDIT
The problem is my Polaris has a couple bad blocks on its NAND.
In traditional english: The support of the OS (AKA Windows Mobile, or Android, for example) is damaged, so in certain points the data written becomes inaccessible or has trash data. That's the reason the phone doesn't wake up.
I can happen too if you have a faulty SDCard. The point is: Some data couldn't be read.
Currently I'm researching about how to live with this. There's nothing to do with Windows Mobile as far as I know, but we can make it work by using some custom set-up of Android.
I'll let you all know if I get some news, or see HERE where I'll post everything I find
Regards!
Bump!
Please, I'm travelling this week and my temporary phone now is broken, too...

That could be your problem(corrupted files) Check for viruses too(Not too careful)
Thanks A LOT for your answer.
I think that can't be the problem, since I formatted the SD card and put all the fresh content again (music an cabs from my home PC).
I found out that a new fresh installed rom works fine, until I install any cab.
The cabs I have, are stored on SDcard and installed to Phone Memory.
Maybe CABS are faulty. Or it's not recommendend to install from the SDCard.
I'll try installing the new rom again, and Installing all cabs from Activesync.
I'll publish any news.
Thanks!
Still not working.
I read somewhere that this is caused by SRS WOW with Security off patch.
tomorrow I'll reinstall the rom again, and all the software without that cab.
Worked fine for 3 minutes, SDCard wasn't plugged and failed once installed Simcard.
What comes into my mind, try downgrading everything to official HTC ROM, by everything i mean also radio(unplug sdcard and simcard when flashing)
Then check if it works, if not maybe there's hardware fault.
Try different simcard too.
What software are you using?
I suggest you follow pcarvalhos or alexander-voigt instructions on how to flash (basically you have to flash official wm6.1 before flashing a ROM if you observe stability issues) and then flash pcarvalho, alexander voigt (or mines). It should work if you follow the instructions exactly. Then try again Niax' rom
Post #1 updated about the reason of this.
Regards!
