[Q] Using US T-Mobile in the UK - General Questions and Answers

Hi I have the G2X from T-Mobile:
GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
UMTS: 1700/2100, 2100 MHz
will this phone work in the UK on 3G.... will be traveling there shortly and although I believe it should work I have read lots of opposing view points on the web.
Thanks!

wow sorry about that... and believe it or not I'm not a noob!

Bump!

Well I had a UK T-Mobile phone that I used to take with me to the US and it automatticly worked on US T-Mobile...so I guess it would?

Decided to go with an unlocked Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Of course this is Pentaband so I figured it was the safest bet. Works like a dream. For those in Canada, I bought this from Telus and used it on Wind. I'm now in the UK using it at 3G+ speeds on O2. Also just happens to be the best phone that I've ever used!

Can i use my cellphone in korea?

Hi
I have an unlocked samsung galaxy s (i9000) and I was wondering if I can take my phone to south korea, buy the sim card and use the phone there?
The help would be really appreciated.
Thank you!

I think it should. KoreanTelecom uses the 2100MHz spectrum for its HSDPA (3G), but I can't find the bands for regular 2G and 1G. But probably it's 800, 850, 900, or 1900 MHz, which your phone supports.
maybe it is difficult to use in korea
Yes,you can.
Yes
Of course if its unlocked!!!

Your Device Moderation Team - Please Read

You may or may not have seen the announcement made on the Portal a day or so ago. If you have, great, then you know what this is about.
In case you haven't, the management team here at XDA decided that we would try to reorganize the moderation team to be able to tackle the changing environment in our site. So, we have split the moderation team into smaller more intimate teams, with each team in charge of certain sections. The sections are split up by manufacturer and type of device as well as world allocation (i.e. US/Canada and International).
All the teams are composed of a number of forum moderators with different levels of experience in different areas, and each team has a team leader (typically a Senior Moderator). Our team will focus primarily on HTC devices in the United States for GSM carriers (i.e. AT&T, T-Mobile and such). Now that this has been explained, let me introduce you to your new team of moderators:
E.Cadro
il Duce
mf2112
orb3000
Red5
TRusselo
TonyStark
and I am the team leader. :cyclops:
We all hope that you enjoy your stay here, and look forward to getting know all of you and working with you in the future. We will respect you if you respect us. Follow the rules and don't be a douche.
Thanks

Thanks guys, looking forward to the future.
Nice to see you around here

Can we get a name change of the forum now?
This was requested countless times with the previous mod team but kept falling on deaf ears.
The name "AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL" has led to much confusion for many users.
The phone comes in 2 forms with minimal differences. One X(AT&T, Rogers, Telus) vs One XL(everywhere else) have different band support and may have 16 or 32 gb storage.
2G: 850, 900, 1800, 1900
3G: 850, 900, 1900, 2100
4G: 800, 1800, 2600
Singtel in Singapore (One XL)
Vodafone in Germany (One XL)
Vodafone in France (One XL)
Vodafone in Switzerland (One XL)
o2 in Germany (One XL)
Deutsche Telekom in Germany (One XL)
Everything Everywhere in UK (One XL)
Orange in UK (One XL)
T-Mobile in UK (One XL)
Unbranded in Hong Kong (One XL)
Telstra in Australia (One XL)
2G: 850, 900, 1800, 1900
3G: 850, 1900, 2100
4G: 700, 1700, 2100
Telus in Canada (One X)
Rogers in Canada (One X)
AT&T in USA (One X)
The name would be better as "AT&T, Rogers, Telus HTC One X + HTC One XL" or similar.
The Scots Man should moderate the one x forums

Already been done by myself and others and never got a response. That thread is just a slush thread of nothing, why could this not be handled and raised by our own mods?

Hooray for you. The many that asked for a forum name change got no answer or told that the current name is less confusing.
I too requested a name change in that thread after a friend of mine tried to install ice cold jelly on his telus one x

I think that with devices like ours and the one x that it be mandatory that the developers have asserts in the updater script to prevent this from happening.
It shouldn't be too hard to add and would help prevent future bricks

asserts are as easy as adding this to the updater-script.
I don't see why the devs don't do it over in the international forum
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "endeavoru" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "endeavoru");
I have it in MIUI.. not that any endeavoru people will flash it.. seems like evita gets caught over there more often than they are here. but still, 1 easy line
reorganization sounds like this is a great idea. Still will miss peartfan. Welcome

Account can't post in development.
I wasn't really sure where to post this, so I decided to do it here where all the moderators could see. I am trying to post in the touchscreen firmware downgrade thread in the original development section. It told me that I needed at least 10 posts to post in the development section. I need to ask someone to repost the downgrade file that way I can install aosp roms. This is my 12th post and it is still not letting me post in the development forum.

[Completed] ZUKZ1 in Canada (4G)

So i am considering buying this phone, but I have only 1 concern about lte on this website: http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_230088.html it says that 4f bands are only:FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600MHz, so will it work in Canada?? I checked http://maps.mobileworldlive.com/ and It only compatable with 2100, no 1700 is it fine if I only have 1?

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
There is no forum specifically for the ZUKZ1 but you may want to ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help where members familiar with that device and he Canadian networks might be able to advise you.
Good Luck!
