So I was looking for a cheap but powerful phone, and many of the choice u wanted were these Chinese phones with mediatek chipsets, with much doubt, I went along with the lenovo a820, and I'm glad I did. Its a wonderful phone, but nowhere in the internet could I find a proper review of this phone, So I decided to do my own.

But this phone has some disadvantages:
1) No 4G/LTE support
2) No front facing camera
3) Average Battery Capacity.

Not like desi MMX, it is far better in all aspects.
If you wamt cheaper solutions then Sony xperia L is there.

Micromax is highly unreliable. Products start to show true build n quality under 6 months.
I have got a dead Funbook pro as service sucks.

Yes even i think that micromax is crap as most of the phones lack some basic hardware like magnetic sensors,gyrometer etc. and most importantly software updates.

The micromax a116 had an inferior screen display(washed out colours) compared to the competition xolo q1000, gionee elife e5, lava iris 504q
People foolishly just read the spec sheet and went ahead to buy the a116 LOL
Do make sure you go to a electronics store and use the phone atleast once, that way you wont regret your buy
If micromax has fixed that pathetic display ... I might have t admit the magnus a117 might just offer the best bang for buck at 13-14k
as far as the turbo is concerned ..... NEXUS 4 anyone!!! LOL I doubt they could recover the money they gave hugh jackman by selling the turbo xD really bad business decision there *facepalm*

This phone caught my eye when this YouTuber, Mayiandjay, posted a review about the phone.

I've just dhgate had good and bad. Got 2 tablets from there one worked the other didn't. Had to pay to send it back
That and the note 3 N9002 looks good from fastcardtech. Problem being heard loads of stories that they breakdown after a couple of months.
Might be worth the risk. I'd like to know if it's worth getting coz I would be intrested in them
Plus does Anyone know where the best place to buy the Goophone i5s and the Goopad mini

I am a noob and have always questioned devices from retailers like dhgate. Would a phone like this be able to be activated on the ting network or one similar? Do they have any kind of development community like the Samsung Note 3 would have?

They are very popular. It's just a big risk. On paper they sound excellent.
I do want the Note 3 N9002 version from HDC it's only going to cost £130 with shipping. It's hard to tell the difference plus for what it is, I think it's worth it but you pay peanuts and get monkeys.
Anyone know where I can find more info on here. Done a search and it brings up a few but not user reviews and where the best and safest place to buy them from.
Dhgate is fine depending on the seller. They no longer use paypal so I wouldn't like to use it without that protection. It's not Dhgate they hold the payment till you confirm you have them and happy

I'm not sure though, why not just buy the Note 3 N9006 from HDC too? ROM looks abit more faster, air control stylus thingy works too from what i see from the video. Also, if there are any breakdowns of the CLONE note 3, just simply buy the parts from the official Samsung Note 3 to the CLONE ones...

I'm by no means a developer nor have any experience "cooking up" ROM's but I'm getting this phone a little after christmas (Upgrading from my Galaxy Nexus) and I'll be starting a little thread showing you guys anything I fixed or improvements I've made with root apps like Titanium and Xposed Framework etc. Can't wait, this phone looks amazing especially at that price

I got mine from ibaby888, shipped to Singapore within a week. I choose to shipped by DHL, pay $10 more. Everything is good except the GPS does not really work. It is able to detect satellite but unable to have lock. Also I'm unable to get apps install in microSD. Using AppMgr III or AppMonster Pro, the move storage selection are "move to phone" or "move to internal storage". Unfortunately in this phone internal storage and phone storage are the same. ES File Explorer detect phone storage as SDCARD0 and microSD as SDCARD1. I have not find the way to install app to SDCARD1 yet.

Any ROM for this device? I got mine from ibaby888, MTK6589, 1gb RAM, 8GB Storage, I downloaded a ROM from Needrom.com (N9006 ROM) but semi-bricked my device, luckily had a backup from the original ROM and have restored it, somebody knows any ROM working? Thanks (and sorry for my English)

I bought one of those phones. it was working well but than I cracked my screen - digitizer and lcd as well. Can somebody help me to solve that? Do somebody has a hdc note 3 for parts with working lcd and digitizer? I would buy it if somebody has. Or if somebody knows where to buy those than please conact me. I have a problem
I bought a GT- N9002 Note3 in Aliexpress this is the link to the description :

Since I bought him never kayaked the GPS , I followed all the tutorials that exist for MTK GPS equipment but there was no case.

Wandering through some forums and the tired horse , I found that someone said that if you added a command line to build.prop file solved the problem. To my surprise, after doing cell did not start over . The phone freeze during startup logo in S ***** G. What if you could do was go to Stock Recovery of Factory Mode Android and that 's all in Chinese and apparently useless. From Stock Recovery I tried to do the wipes , but nothing happened , because the problem was not corrupt user data but in the operating system .

Apparently the only solution was Reflash the Rom . I followed the tutorials to the letter as I pose the forums. Tirelessly searched for a rom that matches the specs of my phone but never found :

N9002 = MTK6589T 1.5Ghz - 2GB RAM - 16GB ROM - IPS Screen 1080P 5.7 "

If agreed the processor and ram , did not match the internal memory or the screen resolution , and so on.

The SP Flash Tool Tools threw me the following error ERROR " S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL ( 4032 ) " . . . In some forums they said it was because it was the wrong Rom . After downloading like 20 different there was one that began to flash, but the phone did not turn on anymore, I still recognized when I plug the drivers to load another ROM . I tried to contact the seller to see if Aliexpress can guide me as to flash the rom , but 10 days ago I do not answer .

At the end of sale aliexpress link I left , says the phone was manufactured by " No.1" although the theory says that HDC and NO.1 are different teams. I tried to flash the rom with the official team NO.1 I found on the page but not needrom flashes . Load scatter file on sp flash tool , button "download" , plug in the computer without the battery and pressed the vol + button. Load the red bar up to 100% and then get the error 4032 . Leave a screenshot for better understanding . As recommended forums also tried from the Firmware > Update button and here was a problem . Only a rom managed to make the process to the end, that is:

In theory, it was support for multiple computers clones of HDC . . S6 - S4 and N9002 . The surprise is that when finished the process and made the green circle but the phone did not turn on , or the recovery mode or the factory. If I put the battery and the charger plug in , turn on and the screen goes gray with a horizontal lines that move. If I unplug it dies again. When I plug the PC recognizes the drivers preloaders smoothly, so I conclude that it can continue flashing with other rom that will go .

The funny thing is that all roms come down from needrom claiming to be for MTK6589T processors come with the scatter file whose name MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc . . . and scatter that came with the only rom that could be had as flash MT6589T_Android_scatter_emmc name . No if you have something to do , I say from my ignorance.

use stock version, in cm version they will think ure selling made in china phone

You should Sell the phone in Factory Condition with Stock GB.
I guess XOLO Q3000 will be the best for you.

I'd recommend Xolo Q3000 as well. It's one hell of a phone. Been a week since I got my hands on this beauty, and I'm already in love with it.

Lenovo vibe x2 a good looking phone with awesome specs.One doesn't find such awesome android dual sim phones in 20K price range here in india!(however i heard dual sim phones are in great demand in China)I especially like its layered design and its a killer at performance with its 2 GB ram and octacore processor. but i heard in almost all reviews of the device that its camera quality is not great,, however from reviews they also confirmed that poor camera issue can be fixed via a software update from Lenovo. also now that Lenovo has acquired Motorola from Google i guess its going to improve upon its existing models.
But here at xda there is no forum for the device.
This is one of the reasons why I am refraining from buying this phone. no professional guides for rooting and no custom roms etc.

Phone is Superb but support needed from developers at XDA.

i have been using this phone for last 6 days...! everything is perfect but i am not happy about the battery performance !
