Here are the specifications of the mobile, it will help the developers i think-
Processor- ARM v6 650 mhz
Chipset- MediaTek MT6573
GPU- PowerVR sgx 531 with OpenGL ES 2.0
OS-Android 2.3.6
Screen Resolution-320x240

Is any developer make or port any custom ROM for micromax a50?
I think a custom ROM can easily be ported to this device as it got a very common chipset!!

For the custom ROM part, they will be out, when a geek or developer buys it.I'm searching for the original phone as that might help you too find ROMs as like all Micromax Androids, it too would be a rebranded version of any Chinese or other mobile.Example: My spice mi 310 is rebranded cellon c8093 and sells in Indonesia as csl mi 320, so I found a few custom ROMs made by some Indonesian friends.So, that might be the case with your device.
Btw, how is Aisha working? Heard it's just a rebranded iris? Try iris from Google play and leave a reply regarding this

I just came to the indonesian part just regarding my device because there has been negligible development on our device by Indian Developers.That's why.

see guyz there is a problem,
i m finding this device in my city for about 4-5 days, its not available yet in my city....but today a shopkeeper told me that the device will be available in a week or so......!!
So as soon as i get the device i will upload the full ROM dump!!
i also want to help in the development of the custom ROM for this device, BTW i dnt hav much knowledge about android yet as i m an iPod Touch user!(will gain knowledge in some days)

The 3.1 screen is of lie resolution, poor camera, AISHA is just rebranded iris, so I don't see any reason to buy it!
Goo for karbonn a7:1 GHz processor,5 mp camera, better resolution screen, Android 2.3.6 at just about inr 5000

i can buy it online, but my dad dont like online shopping!
and as ur saying the karbonn a7 isnt launched in india yet, and i dont want to buy a karbonn product as there is barely any service centers here, the products are not of that good quality!
micromax got a good customer support and there products have great quality too,
also the a50 looks great!
hey apple got the best mobile OS, the iOS, its fast, smooth, powerful, one can easily jailbreak(root in android slang) the device & gain control, install tweaks!
believe me iOS is just awesome!!

and there is no official price announcement from karbonn about the a7,
there r rumors that the device will cost 5-6k,
i think it will be around 7-8k!!!!

It can't be 7-8k, because a9 is 8k and it had better specs, so it will be maximum 6k
And coming to"Micromax had good quality handsets"
Almost all of the Android phones by Micromax are rebranded Chinese mobiles, don't know about the service part

BTW the karbonn a9 is rs.9199!
n also i cant wait to buy a new mobile as the karbonn a7 is not launched yet!!

Ok, they were also rumors, the phone is officially released today
But still I shall pay 2k extra just for the better resolution part of a7, and the camera and powerful processor will come free

bro ! karbonn is the worst and cheapest chinese crap . micromax is 50 times better than it . because it has a better brand name than karbonn .

Hey guys i have A Micromax A50.I bought it from flipkart.
Resolution is kinda ok..And i think there is a problem with the touchscreen,Like xperia mini,when the device overheats(eg:when charging),the touchscreen kinda gets messed up.You'll not be able to type things properly.
Will post romdump as soon as i can.

I doubt you should go for a Micromax A50.

Yes this is the first time, as first time a OEM has released a handset with identical specs but only a different motherboard (s9081 for canvas 2) .Therioletically it is possible. But the main obsticle is that Micromax spare part are not available to 3rd party servicers .We will have to convince the sevice centre people to change the motherboard,which is not possible.Even if we are able to do so, a110q does not have a forum in xda.

Its possible becoz they have the same dimensions and same body and everything but are with diffrent motherboards.
If u want to change, pls contact Service Center.
The only catch is that A110 is 164g and A110Q is 168g.
So 4g diffrence for what? Consult ur service center for this

I dont think dat those people in service center would agree about it..even if it is possible also.

one of my friend bought canvas2plus.. i m trying like hell to convince him to let me open his mob and check whether the motherboard fits correctly in my canvas2 or not.. but he is just not ready to do this as removing the motherboard by third party will void his warranty,,,. and like all d (illiterate) peoples out there, he also don't trust micromax for quality.. he thinks that it may break down any moment n will have to go to service center...
And i m ready to try any canvas2+ motherboard in my canvas2 without worrying about warranty.. i used micromax q5fb for past 2 yrs, n now using cavas2 for 7 months.. i didn't went to service centre except for the trackball of q5fb, just went once cause of water damage for my canvas2.. (funny part is that the peoples didn't even got that there was any water damage, n repaired mob within warranty..), all this to say 3 words, i trust MMX..

Dont Void Warranty !
My micromax indeed did break down and I had to avail warranty . So dont void it .

IMEI will change
If you replace the mothetboard of canvas 2 with canvas 2 plus the imei will change to a new one . You will not get a canvas2 plus board with blank imei . First find some info about how to transfer imei from canvas 2 to canvas 2 plus .This will be illegal too i guess .

once Flashed a new rom i lost my imei, and i had to enter Engineering menu and type that in.
So, i think its pssible. :silly:

Yes you are right regarding the imei no. but it will change on both the sets so there will be no problems if it is done on mutual understanding.:good:

use stock version, in cm version they will think ure selling made in china phone

You should Sell the phone in Factory Condition with Stock GB.
I guess XOLO Q3000 will be the best for you.

1) Water proof !!! , it rained in chennai today and phone is still working
2) camera is avg , but i still like it
3) the phone is a speed monster and it never lagged , wow i minimized gta vice city , asphalt 8 , shadow blade , angry birds , fb , whatsapp
all this !! under 1.3 Gb ram and remaining ram was still free to watch a movie !! in YOUTUBE !!! WOAH !!!

u get back the true ANDROID Feel ,.... which makes u love JB more... and crave for Kitkat , heard there are roms out there for this , will soon try them ,
Currently i have rooted HUAWEI HONOR 3C with Vroot ,also installed back track !!!! Linux its pretty awesome , works real fast !!! happy Hacking !!!

If you have a low budget. then u must buy sparkle v. as u mentioned about sensors.. it has Gyro Sensor, G-Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Light Sensor, E-Compass, and UV Sensor............http://cdn3.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/good.gif
