Has the nexus s 4g reached end of life? I don't see it for sale on sprint or best buy.
If so, how do insurance claims work? would I get another nexus 4g? If they were to offer another phone could I refuse? I've heard of original evo users getting the 3d
As a replacement... but in my case I couldn't use the galaxy nexus because I need the 4g and lte ain't coming anytime soon. And every other possible replacement is not stock android so I wouldn't want it.
Do I need to use extreme caution with my phone or do you suppose they will be handing out refurb 4gs for awhile?

I thought I was the only one that noticed. I kept scrolling up and down and couldn't find the NS4G. It's odd.
They still have them for sale at my sprint store but that just means they still gave them in store stock. What I find odd is they still have the original epic 4g online but they pulled the nexus s4g.

The Epic is still their flagship keyboard phone. The Nexus S 4G has been succeeded by the Galaxy Nexus.

Just as the title says my wife wanted an iphone so we moved to att and my question is what is ATT version of the evo?
I looked on htc web site and the closest thing I can find is the ATT inspire.
Any suggestions?

I would say the HTC Inspire is the closest thing to it for AT&T

I would agree with jumpman1229, The HTC Inspire 4G is probably the closest thing. I just picked one up and pretty slick. They were really pushing the Samsung Infuse 4G, but I didn't want to pay the $199. I think the Samsung Infuse 4G is the newest one they threw out.
tell you what id do. I would get the htc sensation for tmo and unlock it to att. or wait for the world version of the evo 3d. but if you are trying to buy a subsidized phone then I would go with the inspire. Although it has no kickstand, no front facing camera, and it is buggy as hell. my friend has one and sometimes cant make a call without resetting it. he had att switch it out for him and it still has the problems.
I would ditch att for verizon. their network is better and the android choices are better. the thunderbolt is the evo.
Yeah I would have prefered verizon but my wife made the decision for fathers day ect. And honestly I would have kwpt the iphon but for some of the little things just mot included in the ATT base IOS.
I did go get the inspire so far seems good gonna keep it and just pay retail for an evo 3D when I can get it for ATT. or any dual core phone really.
Thanks for the heads up though.

I am currently on Tmobile and can't really wait for their new demi-god version of the Infuse 4G, so I was thinking of buying a unlocked Infuse 4G and popping my Tmobile sim in it...But, I look on here and see that it has had some not so good reviews. Frankly it is this or the G2x, but I am hoping that they are getting Ice Cream Sandwich...
Btw I currently have a Samsung Vibrant...
going from a galaxy s phone to an infuse is not a worthwhile upgrade imo, i would wait for the hercules or sgs 2
I'd wait till sept. tmo is gettibg the best sii phone made so far

Want to talk about bad reviews peek into the g2x channel. I came from a g2x to the infuse and it was the best decision I ever made. The g2x is the biggest pos I ever owned, hands down. Granted the Hercules is the next level of android devices but as of now, in my opinion, the infuse walks all over the g2x.

can you explain/substantiate a little more?
why you think s2 is pos?
Edit:
my bad.
it is g2x not s2
He's referring to the LG G2x not the Galaxy S II.
And if you're on T-Mo, you should definitely wait for the Hercules.
The Infuse is a 2010 phone in nice clothes.
Wait for the Hercules. The two aren't comparable.

The Infuse with a custom ROM is a great device on AT&T.
However it's limited to EDGE on T-Mobile, so I would not purchase it for T-Mobile use. This goes for nearly any AT&T phone by the way - AT&T phones that support the AWS band are the exception and not the norm.
I'm trying to see if I can ditch my Epic 4G and sidegrade to a Nexus S 4G with spending as little money as possible.
Looks like the prices for new Nexus S is around 220ish, with used Epics going from $130 and up. Wondering if I should just buy a new/used Nexus S, add it to my plan, deactivate the Epic 4G then sell it (it's in pristine condition, had it since launch).
I also have a $75 upgrade available (knowing the Premier program is changing soon) and Sprint is offering $85 for a trade in of the Epic 4G as well.
Anyone have any suggestions on what to do?
That's an upgrade not a sidegrade!!! You could get lucky and find a person willing to trade. Otherwise I would sell it on eBay or CL.

I went from the EPIC to the nexus s about 2 weeks ago and I will never look back. I had called sprint and asked them for an early upgrade cause I was so tired of that peice of **** epic. They would not give me a full upgrade yet and I told them I want to exchange my phone for a different one then cause I had so many problems with the epic. I went through a couple different supervisors and finally they said ok and I could choose between the evo and the transform and the nexus! U already know what I chose...

I've always gotten phones straight from Sprint with the two year agreement and $150 rebate.
I was checking on Best Buy/Wirefly and right now they have the Nexus S for 0$ with contract extension. How does that work?
that contract extension only works if your eligible for your $150 upgrade cause they want you to sign up for another 2 years. Trust me there is no way around this. If you want a new phone like the SGS2 or the new nexus prime coming up and you dont have a full upgrade yet just add another line to your acount and the you get the phone at the contract price. After you do that just put the line you just opened on hold and it will cost you only $10 a month.
i traded my epic for an evo a couple months ago, and today i'm trading a evo for a nexus s 4g. just keep tabs on your area's craigslist. people are always looking to trade their phone for something different.

I posted the phone and within 5 minutes of it going up someone called me with a Brand new in box Nexus S.. I freakin love this phone. Upgraded my best friend and my mom to one yesterday. NFC with Google Wallets is awesome

The only way to reset an upgrade is to buy a subsidized phone through your carrier or an authorized retailer.

I just wanted to know what ya think.was 250 with shipping and handling.the seller said it was in 8.99 of 10 in looks. And it says like new in description lol. He is a trusted seller.
If its in good contidion ill stay with it,and I know alot about rooting and port roms and ill try to help.I use to own mytouch 4g. Mytouch 3g n lg mytouch 4g and all rooted and I ported roms lol. So ill get back when I get it.
That's the phone
I would say it's a decent offer. That's the low end price for it on craigslist in my area so unless you traded or found someone on here I don't know how much cheaper you could find it for.

Not a bad price... Very decent for an almost new phone
Yea, i'm looking at getting another one, and if I could find one for 250 shipping included in khaki i'd be all over it in a heartbeat - Best deal i've got right now (that'll probably fall through like the rest) is 275 and I gotta drive way far out of my way to get it.
I'd say that at 250 Ship included go for it - I didn't look at the pic, it was too small on my screen.
The picture is too blurry to be of any use. Are you sure that it is the Mytouch 4g slide, and not the Mytouch 4g, because the picture from what I can tell looks like the mytouch 4g.
Yea it is the slide. but I can't post full size pic.it says file corrupted. But when ill receive the phone ill post the pics for ya to see!

Lol, starting a collection?
That's too polygamous for my taste. I like to settle down with one at a time and move on if/when the time is right.

PM sent.
Clean getaway for you and I get what I was looking for.
I'd be happier getting the cash to someone who was a member of the community then some random stranger anyway.
I think i replyed im not sure if you got it i dont see it in sent pm.
Well, someone showed up at his house cash in hand - so I can't fault him for selling to someone else.
That's the third deal that fell through, 3 strikes.
I'm looking at other things now. If a silver slide in good shape without scratches on the silver bezel is found for about that price, then i'll buy it.
If I find another Android handset first that catches my eye, well, i'm not gonna sit here with my hands tied because I can't mess with my doubleshot because it has to be ready to receive a call from work.
My preference would be to end up with another doubleshot to keep all my dev right here, but at this point the floor is open for another device to fill my backup slot.
Sorry about that it was to hard for me to pass up the cash from a local buyer.

No worries man, someone shows up with cash at your door while we're still working out the details?
I can't even begin to find a starting point on getting upset about that - I appreciate you making the offer and at least giving me a chance. If I lived by you i'd have been that dude ... but that's life. Thanks for keeping me in the loop!
Glad you got what you wanted from it and can make a clean break either way - the world at large is just conspiring against my getting a silver one
Do they still have the ns4g available or would they give me a different phone.

They still have NS 4g's. Just got a really nice one thru insurance.
Supposed I have grown tired of my NS4G... What are some ways I can go about getting a new phone with my insurance or whatever? >.>
Do I have to get the same phone?
I'm on a 2yr btw.

If an NS4G is what you have then that is what you will get given supply. You can't exactly ask for more then you got.
Just took my ns4g in a few days ago because of abysmal signal and Increasingly yellow tinge to white colors on the screen. They offered to replace it because they didn't have any parts available in house but then discovered that the insurance company had no replacements available and had it listed as no chance of restock. The insurance company had it locked so it could only be replaced with a evo slide, htc design, or Motorola photon 4g. I tried *****ing them into a galaxy nexus but they said they couldn't do anything about it, the system would only let them choose from those 3. So if any of these phones interest you Id give it a shot. Just keep in mind that the Motorola photon the only decent option has a locked boot loader and the newest one hasn't been hacked yet, so you would be stuck with old ass android 2.3 rather than the sexy 4.1 you have now. The other two are also stock 2.3 but may be hackable, I didn't really look because i went for the photon.
Quick side note,
I first took it to the sprint store 5 min from my house and they told me it wouldn't be worth my time to get a replacement, and they wouldn't even look at it. They gave me the number of the insurance company and said I would have to pay shipping and a deposit to get a replacement. Then went to a sprint place 45min away a few days later for the lolz(was in the area) and they offered a replacement on the spot. Same with the epic 4g on my account. space bar was broken on keyboard, first store couldn't even open it up because of "a stripped screw" so they wouldn't be able to replace/fix it. went to second store they opened it right up and fixed it. Moral of the story if they wont give you what you want try another sprint store. (both are corporate stores btw)
Crappy choices...
