"Flipboard is a digital magazine-like application that combines all of your Facebook, Twitter, website news, articles, photos and more into one live feed for simple (and gorgeous) browsing from one dedicated place. It used to be an iPad exclusive up until the other day when Flipboard launched a version for the iPhone too and we thought we’d take it for a spin and do a little impromptu review of it.... "

It looks nice and pretty, but I think I prefer Pulse, or even Currents because you can see more stories at a glance.
Pulse you can see the most stories at a glance, but not much info on each to know whether it would be of interest.
Currents you can see more info in each stories preview, but fewer stories at a glance.
With Flipboard you have to flip through every single story individually.
They only put 1 story per page, and 66% of the page is taken up with a picture. If they put more text on each page, it might give you a better idea of whether you want to go into the article.
It does have some magazines not on Pulse or Currents though, so I'll probably keep it and use it for them.

Totally awesome to follow news.
Thank you so much.
I really wanna like this app..
Looks great but its inaccurate as hell...I flip through fb posts and half the time when I click one it goes to a post that isn't even close to the one I picked!! Very annoying!
Makes it useless but it looks great.

After about a day's use, i love it. I'm used to Pulse so it was weird to only see one article per page, but after "ignoring" the "Pulse way of doing things", it's freaking awesome. Love it.
Btw, make sure to make an account so you can add many many more sources
Great little app. Not interested in the Facebook and the Twitter integration, I have third party apps for that. Really aesthetically pleasing though, and is beautifully smooth on the Note

After using all day, the only issue is even after selecting the uk as my area its still chucking up loads of US news, which to be fair I couldn't care a less about (no offence meant), but suppose I'm learning something. All in all i love it and I actually think the facebook integration is pretty good.
Edit: just discovered the mute option to mute certain authors and also a news (uk edition)
Edit 2: I do seem to get force closes on some news items from particular authors when trying to view a story. Telegraph uk is one
It's a little annoying that it doesn't save your place if you hit the back button.
A few times I've hit back by mistake and then when you go back into a magazine you have to scroll all the way to where you were before.
Having more pictures is nice for some types of magazines, but for news and tech articles I'd rather just have more info and less gloss.

Just swipe back instead of pressing the back button.
such a nice apps.. thank you sir!
I been playing with it for about 30 minutes now. I couldn't leave it once I started exploring. This is exactly what I needed as social media ,news and rss are all in one place in a comfortable and conventional style. I am convinced to uninstall pulse, feedly, google reader and all those news apps. Thank you so much for making this possible. Is this a Samsung app originally?
I hope you can port all those apps one by one from Sg3. Graditudes

To anyone having trouble with this app, check that you do not have forced GPU acceleration in developer options. It caused a lot of issues for me but is now running perfectly now I've disabled it.

As you might have heard, TweetDeck has released its Twitter app for Android after what seems to be ages of development, at least for me, as I’ve been dying for this. Twidroyd has long been, at least in functionality, best Twitter app for Android, but TweetDeck hopes to change that by bringing the best Twitter app for PC to Android. Interestingly, its not a direct port of their iPhone app, rather, its been built from the ground to up to showcase the changes that TweetDeck hopes to roll out across its other platforms. I’ve gotta say, its looking great, but not quite there yet. Check out the video for a demo of the great functionality as well as the missing functionality. All in all, though, great job TweetDeck.

Naw it's definitely not the best quite yet. It's lacking A LOT feature wise but it's on the right track. It's been the main one I've used since it came out yesterday. Just might replace my Twitter for Android in the end.

TweedDeck desktop is awesome. Can't beat it imo. TweedDeck for Android... another story. As someone said above, they have a long ways to go. ALTHO one think I do like, is the smoothness of the app. Thats all tho... I'm sure over time it will get better, but they have lots of catching up to do.

Well said. Thats exactly how I feel. The app is really smooth and I like that it brings you back where you left off in every column, but they've got a lot of work to do. But with their apps for other platforms, I know they can do it.

To all of you that complains about Tweetdeck for Android. It's still beta and not the finished application. I can assure you there is frantic activity over at Tweetdeck support, and I don't doubt that this will be a killer app
I think it kinda sucks at least right now, all the other Twitter apps I've tried are better and actually have features. And it won't stop sending Twitter notifications which I don't want as it's constant and annoying. Oh and it's ugly..haha. I'm sure it will get better though. I like Twicca myself.

Thanks to whoever told me how to turn off notifications. I wasn't getting them then randomly this morning they started coming in. I just use Pure Messenger to read FB/tweets in one column and open Twicca/Facebook from Pure Messenger to post something. I like it because it's a widget. Is Tweetdeck going to put out a widget? I didn't notice one looking through my widgets.
Hey guys, I'm putting together a website dedicated to mobile wallpapers for various devices that I own.
After searching the internet for a good site, I have yet to find one that meets certain criteria and almost all of them have wallpapers that don't quite live up to expectations:
-them being too big
-them being too small
-them not being quite the right size to accommodate Android's strange "crop" window you receive after selecting a picture you want to use.
I'm aiming to fix that by having wallpapers designed with Android in mind to not only accommodate the crop window, but also allow you to select and use the entire picture.
I'm still in the process of getting everything running smooth, and there's still some performance tweaks, theme settings, and configuration settings that need to be addressed but eventually I'll get there. I also hope to have a mobile version running soon, so that you can access from any Android device.
This site will also allow guests/registered users to upload their own wallpapers and will automatically resize them according to what album you upload them to.
Anyway, check out the sneak peak here: http://www.freeza-inc.com/walls
badass, if these wallpapers in fact look as good on the homescreen as they do on the browser, then you sir, deserve a beer on the house cant wait to get home from the office and test it out.

just a suggestion, ... add an option to view thumbnails of ALL the wallpapers you uploaded (of a specific resolution), this would let the user access the page and see a huge page with all the wallpaper thumbnails and skim through all of them very fast to see what he likes, instead of going category by category, page by page.
I understand that the page might be huge, and will take a lot of time to load (thumnails could be very small in size however, so it could reduce the load time), but IMO it will be worth it for the user
cheers
Like the title says, what are the changes that you most favor in ICS?
For me, these are my favorite improvements (in no particular order):
1. Ability to swipe down notification bar while screen locked
2. Improved camera speed and quality
3. Vastly improved gallery
4. ICS Keyboard
5. Voice - to - text
6. Browser
7. General appearance/asthetics
8. Email, Gmail, and calender
Just curious to see what everyone else likes (or dislikes for that matter) about ICS.

You said it all ;-)
I like specially the calendar (pinch to zoom and unzoom !) and the browser, almost as fast as my computer !
I can't really tell something that I dislike.
I love how "done" it feels. Everything matches the new UI theme perfectly. Also, it's stupidly fast. The one thing I was always jealous of WP7 and iOS users was that their OS's were just a bit smoother and faster. Now I can finally say that ours is perfectly how I want it.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. Everything is integrated perfectly. Everything is in harmony. Everything just feels 'right'.
I think its a major game changer for Google. ICS wipes ios5 all over the floor and then some.
My next tablet will definitely be the Samsung 10.1 successor (currently using an iPad) running a flavour of Android 4.
I'm smitten
No launcher crashes any more, no lag when exiting applications or generally swiping back and forward, and faster stock browser are the main ones for me.

I would ask in the ROM thread. I have seen that issue reported many times on many ROMs but I have no idea what the solution is.
HATE some of the icons... Overall it is very done and feels complete, except the icons look a bit unprofessional imo.
Such as the contacts and messaging icon. I use ICS with custom icons to replace the ones i dont feel fit properly. For example, the messaging icon is an awkward green and WAY too tall.
But over all it deserves a 9/10
Polished is a very good way to put the feel of using ICS. It certainly does feel "complete" and relaxed. Definitely the largest reason to love it.. right behind notifications + power options in notifications bar to do with as i please while it's locked
Keyboard is a solid step forward (and predictive text works better than GB from my use).
The browser is a HUGE step forward, but it's definitely not there yet.
Gallery works much better, far fewer issues than before. HOWEVER, i hate having to click the photo twice to get into the gallery after taking a photo.
Also, IntelSoftApps has really hit the nail on the head.. the contacts, messaging, calendar and gallery just look like they don't belong there. What would be the least intrusive way to change these (editing the apk?)?
What I love about ICS:
-the overall design and how polished it is
-how smooth it is
- all the new gapps
Shouldn't the caller id, when receiving a call, have a transparent background? When someone calls there is a big black box covering lower half of the screen with the little white headphone... Is it a Nexus S bug, or an ICS feature? I think it would be better transparent...
I like lots of features of ICS. I love the new font, the market icon in the app tray, the ability to create app folders, and the ability to swipe away single notifications. Honestly my only real complaint is with the app drawer...I hate having to scroll sideways. Logically when you have a list of something, you expect it to be vertical, not horizontal. But hey, that's how iOS does it so that's how Android should do it too, right? *rolls eyes*

Hello, I wanted to introduce PhotoDream.
It´s my first android development, and I wanted you to try and please tell me your opinion.
PhotoDream link
USA Flag effect
Draws
Love effect
It works from Froyo.
It has real time photo effects, it allows you to capture the desired photo effect in real time as you take the picture.
The available photo effects range from the typical ( black and white, negative, gray, colored, sketch, cartoon) to the not so typical such as stars, hearts, circles and flags!!!
Yes it allows you to mix your photo with your flag creating a national flag effect for your photos.
You can share your photos using facebook, gmail, ...
Sorry for my english.
Thanks !!
Help to download
It is one week from uploading and i can´t pass from 200 downloads.
It is hard.
It took me three months to develop, and I cannot afford paid advertise,
can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong?
Thanks.
The image effects dont look good im sorry but they dont.
Maybe you should try to make something that's a little easier...
Graphics applicationa are really hard to make as ypu can see.

Thanks for your hard work, looks great..
Thaks everyone,
good and bad comments about the app.
I started working on it cause I did not know anything about Java, but I am a c++ developer experienced in working with image buffers.
Otherwise, the work i did was related to get some image features like pattern-recognition and so on, but was not oriented to user so my main failure is design.
I was born for code, maybe I don´t have designer point of view.
I will continue improving filters and i will try to do it better.
Any help about new filters you would like to appear would be brilliant.
What about real time?
Does it work well in your phones?
I have a 2 years Samsung galaxy mini with froyo and it works ok,
I tested it in almost all emulator´s configurations and was more slowly due to my machine is not as fast as expected.
Is real time effect slow or not?
Thanks
I like it! Its fun to play around with R thanks!

Hi everyone, I'd love to get some feedback about my Android app, Weather Route. Please give it a spin and let me know what you like/don't like/hate, or just want random unicorns.
What makes Weather Route different to other apps?
* Allows you to just tell us where you're going and we'll fill in all the details of the trip in between.
* Side-by-side weather forecast comparisons between all locations along the trip.
* Immediate highway camera footage of current conditions.
This app is only works in the United States, due to data limitations pulled from NOAA.
As I'm a new XDA user, I can't post external links like the Play store listing or the YouTube demo video. Please see that attachments for this post.

Thanks! It's surprisingly difficult to get all of this weather data in a fast, responsive way (at least, from under-powered public government servers...). I've put a lot of work in tuning the performance. I'm glad you like it!
