Keep in mind that if you load those apps you probably wont be able to download any future firmware updates unless you revert them back.

Hello. I'm thinking of re-installing some rom which doesn't have the gapps pre-installed. Thing is, I want to INSTALL ONLY THE MARKET. I tried pushing the apk into system/app/ but it won't load the app.
Does anyone know how to flash only the market?
How about using the Amazon market?

The flashable gapps doesn't only contain the Google apps. Also contains the services needed. Download the flashable gapps, and delete with 7zip or whatever software the apps that you are SURE you don't want, like for example gmail. The apk's you don't know what they are, keep them because they are needed (Google services). I don't remember the names now but I can take a look if you want to. Then flash it.

What kind of errors? I understand you have CM7, right?
I will upload the CM7 gapps only with market in some minutes and you try it.
EDIT: Added GApps with only Market and required things for CM7 Gingerbread! If you use CM6 Froyo tell me. It's not signed now, but from what I remember you can flash it anyway. If not, sign it or tell me.

What device do you have?
I got an HTC Magic. Running Diet Gingerbead. Was running CM7 1 month ago.
Flashing this file works on this rom or only for CM7?
Oh, the zip file doesnt work. It says verification failed.
Say I download beans rom, and I wanna get rid of some system apps from the download before installing, like svoice, wallpapers and bloat widgets. Is there a way to do this?

So real quick, I decided to install the Google calendar and so I removed the calendar apk that came with cyanogenmod. Long story short. Now no calendar works.
If I remember correctly, there was a calendar and a calendar storage apk. I'm assuming I need the storage one to make the local files match and sync with what Google has. Could anyone happen to post the original .apk of that? Or even better, post both? I was going to download one off the S3 forum but idk if its compatible, considering its a different phone and they are running 4.2+
Thank you in advanced
There's the calendar apk, calenderprovider apk, and the gogglecalendersyncadapter apk. The last is in the gapps. You can pull them out of the respective zips if you download them. I don't currently have the latest zip. And I'm not sure exactly which you will need, or all. Make sure you fix permissions afterwards.

Would the calenderprovider apk be in the cyanogenmod zip then? I feel like thats the one i need. Gonna give the googlecalendersyncadapter a shot really quick though just in case.
Edit: Which gapps do i need? the last one for 4.1?

Which system app can be removed from cm11? Apps that if will be removed won't make the phone unstable. I mean apps like talkback and stock live wallpapers, play's apps (Moovie, books, etc).

if you're rooted just flash cm11 and minimal gapps from pa. Anything cm11s has you can reinstall as an app

dont think you really thinking this through properly. The time taken to honestly reflash a rom is way faster than removing apps believe me. Also in stock you have to remove two files since its odex file system.
Now with that said you could of just google searched safe apps to remove from system and be done with it but believe me all this back and forth is longer than just downloading pico gapps from pa booting into recovery simply wipe /system and then reflash rom and gapps.... But dont believe me I have only been doing this for like 8 years now...
I just tried flashing some inverted app zips in recovery, and they succeeded in breaking my phone. I flashed Dropbox, Play Store, Google Music, Google Calendar, and Hangouts. I foolishly didn't take a backup beforehand. Now my phone boots and I can enter my pattern to unlock it, but the home screen is solid black with the three buttons at the bottom. I periodically get messages that app X or Y has closed (typically Newsstand and Google Opinion Rewards).
I've acquired the original apk files, but I cannot install them--I receive an error to the effect that no program was found to handle the file. How can I install the stock apk files again? I tried coming up with a flashable zip but it's over my head. I can't uninstall anything from either Settings or the Play Store; Settings crashes and the Play Store just says "Uninstalling..." forever.
The files I flashed came from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494145
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I did attempt that, but the zips don't just contain apk files--they run scripts that replace various resources and whatnot; I wasn't entirely sure what was going on. The files I flashed are in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494145

He is now.
I'm more interested in what exactly he initially flashed (ROM, GApps package and so on) so it's easier to get his phone back to where it was [emoji14]
