T-Mobile custom 1200 MHz kernel - HTC Sensation

Hey guys! Is there a Ice Cream Sandwich custom Kernel that's 1200 MHz??? I am sick and tired of my phone burning up! Please help! Or do I have to go back to stock Gingerbread to get 1200 MHz??? Thanks!

Try Opensensation! todays build! Most bugs are fixed. Clocked at 1000 but u can change that in settings courtesy of cm9

But is there a dev that support 1200 ics kernel???

Thanks, but this I know. I want to know if there are any around without having to use third party apps to clock it. You guys mean to tell me there is no T-Mobile dev kernels that's clocked to 1200 MHz???
Sent from my Sensation 4G using xda premium

FWIW the manufacturer actually rates the Qualcomm 8260 as a 1.5 GHz processor..so technically HTC just underclocks it. 1.5 is perfectly normal, although I am a little concerned as well because I noticed my finger felt on fire the screen was so hot earlier today. Your best bet at this point might be stock, OC/UV, or bust sadly

Well if you really don't want third party apps then just install kernel via aroma installer and select something around 1200MHz I know you can at least do that with bricked kernel
Sent from my sensational sensation 4g

not really the answer you are looking for, but I just want to tell you that it makes no difference whether you underclock it to 1ghz yourself or if the original kernel is set at 1ghz. They will both consume the same amount of power. I think the best way to approach this is to underclock it yourself to 1ghz and UNDERVOLT with system tuner. my sensation is stable at 1.02ghz @ 937.50mV

Thanks guys for all of your help. I just went back to Gingerbread and I guess i'll just have to wait until official ICS...again, thanks.

It's much more of a hassle to go back to gb than any of the simple options provided above, but I guess to each his own...

Sorry for a late reply, but ARHD6.6.3 has an option to run the stock (1.2ghz) kernel!!

Benchmarking favour anyone?

So guys,I might have a chance to exchange my Desire HD for a Sensation(Plus some money of course),but I want to be sure before I set my eyes on the Sensation only.
To help me choose, could someone do some benchmarks for me?By benchmarks,I don't want stuff with stock rom or stock CPU speeds, but I mean some heavy benchmarking with full dual-core support(Mike's way or anyone else's),full CPU overclock(nothing less than 1.7GHz-Not even 2GHz would damage anyone's phone during ONE benchmark),GPU overclock(I read it's been done in some kernels-Wasn't possible on older Snapdragons) and generally everything that boosts performance. That would be my daily setup(Yes,I'm that mad ) and, also owning a Galaxy S 2,I won't be easily surprised.
So,the benchmarks I'd like to see are:
-Linpack's multi-thread test
-Nenamark 1 }I'd prefer Nenamark 2 but anyway.
-Nenamark 2 }
-CFBench
-Smartbench 2011
-Antutu benchmark
-Quadrant benchmark
If you could post your setup(Rom,CPU speed,GPU speed etc),I'd be deeply grateful too.
Many thanks in advance,I hope I'll be joining you soon.
Well I get 2500 normally on default CPU and GPU on android revolution hd .

Just one thing: current overclock only works for one core. So what you'll see won't be the actual performance

Yes,I read about that, but I care more about graphics this time,as that was what disappointed me with my past HTC devices and made me switch to Samsung.Qualcomm's CPUs were always really good,no doubt about that so I don't exactly care about that.Synthetic benchmarks also don't mean ****,that's why specific benchmarks like Nenamark for GPU and Linpack for CPU are higher in my priority list. Also,in Smartbench,I care more about the gaming index score.
Thanks for pointing it out anyway.

Yes my friend, you do.These phones(Sensation,Galaxy S 2) are very far from their true potential at stock. You should see my Galaxy S 2 stock vs my Galaxy S 2 running VillainRom and Ninphetamine kernel @1.6GHz.Night and day. And,unlike HTC,Samsung does a good job at not crippling their phones too much.

heres trinity, its the fastest out there. and depending which version you pick, its also the best on battery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12931657&postcount=1
Also Netarchy, or matr1x are awesome kernels.

Can those be used on stock ROM? As I said, I just unlocked the bootloader and flashed superuser. No custom ROM as I like the stock already.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
I would recommended netarchy for stock rom. He has builds specifically for stock roms and it is extremely stable and fast.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1220393Yennob Base 1, tiny undervolt.
Stock with a slight overclock to 1.2ghz plus a tiny undervolt. I use 'base 1, tiny undervolt'. There are options for user volts also. Perfect for stock, ones that don't need all the extra jazz.

Matr1x by mathkid95 is quite a spiffy kernel. It has BLN, Voodoo color and sound, under/over volting and under/overclockability. Battery life is quite impressive as well.

Should be the same as on CM7. You mean CPU's? CM9 should have a custom kernel that you can overclock.

CM7 is based on Android 2.3.4/5 Source Code and CM9 will be based on Android 4.x Source Code.
personally I prefer Sense based ROMs (even if it a bit of a resource hog) but am looking forward to seeing what Steve and his team pull off hopefully they include the MT3G-S in development (wife doesn't wanna give her's up "It's fast enough and I like the keyboard").

Yes there's HW acceleration, but that doesn't affect games as games already use the GPU. Games won't be any faster on the MT4G than they already are.
To my knowledge, you can't OC the GPU.

I was under the impression that SOC (system on chip) means everything on one chip. Meaning, cpu and gpu coexist on the same silicon. Overclocking the cpu increases graphics performance. Now, mind you, I could be way off (some please clarify). But I doubt you'll see much better performance, unless of course they figured out some serious magic with ICS. I wouldn't get your hopes up though.

{BATTLE}--> Show your quadrant/Aututu/SmartBench score!!!![{ HTC Sensation }]

This Thread was inspired when a few friends, one with stock unrooted DROID Bionic, the other 3 with a HTC EVO 3D (Sense 2.3.7 ROM/kernel, oc 1.5 Ghz Dual core) would woop my ass in a Quadrant fight against my HTC Sensation 4G (AOSP ICS 4.0.3.ROM oc 1.7 Ghz dual core) neeedless to say i wooped ass but this ws my score what was yours???
2705 I get. Using 1.5Ghz kernel and latest ARHD rom.
For some reason Quadrant is only reporting one cpu core though, might be part of the problem.

I don't get that. I only get 2705 on the very same rom and kernel. Go figure.
Are you using the XE version of the rom?
Have force 2D GPU option?
1685?! All stock, no root, no ICS, Samsung SDHC 32GB class10.
2005 after wiping cache of all apps, and closing some programs...
2173 after 30 seconds from last one test...
Couple tests more, and ill have above 3k too.
This benchmark is so good. MAkes me more happy every time i run it.

guys once again, Quadrant doesnt do and prove s*it.
the real performance lies underneath your fingertips and what you see so dont get fooled by random scores that they get every test. Performance cant be proved by quadrant.

Its a great phone the screen does take up alot of juice though I get around 2-4 hours of screen on time right now I'm running cyanogenmod 7 alpha 10 (does not have an official build another downer) with Faux's latest 2.9 kernel. cpu clocked at 1700 mhz and gpu clocked above 300 mhz (every once in a while i check out trinity's kernel which also runs smooth too) its running damn smooth there is also alot of ice cream sandwich development but I'm waiting until the get everything working. If you like sense the have that too lol but in my opinion its the best phone right now on t mobile (the samsung galaxy s2 for t mobile has no roms as of right now).
