This Thread was inspired when a few friends, one with stock unrooted DROID Bionic, the other 3 with a HTC EVO 3D (Sense 2.3.7 ROM/kernel, oc 1.5 Ghz Dual core) would woop my ass in a Quadrant fight against my HTC Sensation 4G (AOSP ICS 4.0.3.ROM oc 1.7 Ghz dual core) neeedless to say i wooped ass but this ws my score what was yours???
2705 I get. Using 1.5Ghz kernel and latest ARHD rom.
For some reason Quadrant is only reporting one cpu core though, might be part of the problem.

I don't get that. I only get 2705 on the very same rom and kernel. Go figure.
Are you using the XE version of the rom?
Have force 2D GPU option?
1685?! All stock, no root, no ICS, Samsung SDHC 32GB class10.
2005 after wiping cache of all apps, and closing some programs...
2173 after 30 seconds from last one test...
Couple tests more, and ill have above 3k too.
This benchmark is so good. MAkes me more happy every time i run it.

guys once again, Quadrant doesnt do and prove s*it.
the real performance lies underneath your fingertips and what you see so dont get fooled by random scores that they get every test. Performance cant be proved by quadrant.

So guys,I might have a chance to exchange my Desire HD for a Sensation(Plus some money of course),but I want to be sure before I set my eyes on the Sensation only.
To help me choose, could someone do some benchmarks for me?By benchmarks,I don't want stuff with stock rom or stock CPU speeds, but I mean some heavy benchmarking with full dual-core support(Mike's way or anyone else's),full CPU overclock(nothing less than 1.7GHz-Not even 2GHz would damage anyone's phone during ONE benchmark),GPU overclock(I read it's been done in some kernels-Wasn't possible on older Snapdragons) and generally everything that boosts performance. That would be my daily setup(Yes,I'm that mad ) and, also owning a Galaxy S 2,I won't be easily surprised.
So,the benchmarks I'd like to see are:
-Linpack's multi-thread test
-Nenamark 1 }I'd prefer Nenamark 2 but anyway.
-Nenamark 2 }
-CFBench
-Smartbench 2011
-Antutu benchmark
-Quadrant benchmark
If you could post your setup(Rom,CPU speed,GPU speed etc),I'd be deeply grateful too.
Many thanks in advance,I hope I'll be joining you soon.

Yes,I read about that, but I care more about graphics this time,as that was what disappointed me with my past HTC devices and made me switch to Samsung.Qualcomm's CPUs were always really good,no doubt about that so I don't exactly care about that.Synthetic benchmarks also don't mean ****,that's why specific benchmarks like Nenamark for GPU and Linpack for CPU are higher in my priority list. Also,in Smartbench,I care more about the gaming index score.
Thanks for pointing it out anyway.

From what I have read, its the same phone except they didnt underclock it. Exact same processor running at its normal speed. This can be done by rooting...
I say buy the regular sensation (unless the XE release is free from the dust problem) and then root the phone.

No. The xe has a new sound enhancement through software. But root users are already taking advantage of this.

It's basically the same phone with red details on the case, and not downclocked to 1.2Ghz, with a higher capacity battery to compensate the higher speed on cpu.
If you must buy the phone take the XE, if you have already a sensation, a custom rom will do the work, an upgrade will not give benefits over a rom and is a waste of money (IMHO)

It's not a best processor, both the XE and the normal version have an Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8260. And would be nice to say "better equalization" instead of "better sound", and it's achievable from the normal ones just installing the apposite mod.
The real improvements are a more powerful battery and the better headphones. Neither more, nor less.
Aside from the bigger battery the XE ain't got new hardware.

Same device compare here, XE has Oced CPU, larger ROM and battery, however, stated specs of XE accessible ROM state 1000mib and standard Sensation 550mib. Dont know about the rest of you but I have at least 1000mib accessible ROM in Sensation.

FWIW the manufacturer actually rates the Qualcomm 8260 as a 1.5 GHz processor..so technically HTC just underclocks it. 1.5 is perfectly normal, although I am a little concerned as well because I noticed my finger felt on fire the screen was so hot earlier today. Your best bet at this point might be stock, OC/UV, or bust sadly

not really the answer you are looking for, but I just want to tell you that it makes no difference whether you underclock it to 1ghz yourself or if the original kernel is set at 1ghz. They will both consume the same amount of power. I think the best way to approach this is to underclock it yourself to 1ghz and UNDERVOLT with system tuner. my sensation is stable at 1.02ghz @ 937.50mV

Hi all, I think the htc sensation have much time to be at the top or at least in the top half of Android devices. Having a good dual core processor at 1.2 gigahertz with a good GPU Adreno 220 make it one of the best middle-fa terminals. Even if we look we can see how ferrules brand like Sony xperia s use the same GPU and even the htc One s3 s has its version with the same processor. I think the sensation is at the height of xperia S, htc one s, galaxy s2, galaxy foolish, Optimus 3D ... etc. what do you think? a hug
In terms of power lg's optimus 3d destroys our sensation. I'd say we have the best unofficial support though the s2 is probably more popular, followed by the xperia s. HTC didn't do a very good job on this phone, which is why they released the HTC amaze soon after to correct their mistakes.

I think my sensation xe was good, fast, and reliable with the original Rom it came with ,as soon as I updated to ics it became slow unresponsive , what Anoys me much is when you press menu and select settings ,the setting option remain highlighted for 2 seconds than you'll get setting menu ,where in gingerbread its instant ,for me gingerbrad was way faster than ics ,it still is .I downgraded to gingerbread ,I think HTC are amateurs when they update their phones not pros at all ,don't know how they manage to make a dual core phone with 750mb ram run slow..... On ics
I really love my Sensation XE... but only with custom ROM

Phones update all the time. I remember when the GS2 just came out. Now we have S4. The point is, if you have a good phone, keep that good phone til it dies. Or, keep things fresh, flash new Roms and have it live forever.
