Redux is a custom ROM, built with three key aspects in mind: Clean, fast, stable.
Features:
This second version focuses on users' needs and experience; it tries to bring useful features to our phones that have a place in our day-to-day usage models. Current implemented features are as follows:
FM radio support;
Built-in FTP server functionality, so there's no need for a cable when transferring files;
Multitasking panel, with quick access to common settings and multimedia controls.
Smaller additions include:
Trackball wake
Lockscreen music controls
Playback control via the volume keys
Killing the foreground application by long-pressing BACK
LED notifications improvements
Option to turn overscroll glow off
Supports small /cache partitions
LITE build supports small /system partitions (as small as 75MB with the LITE build)
Source code:
The source code isn't yet available, though I will release it at some point in the future, after it gets settled.
Requirements:
Amon-RA or ClockworkMod recovery to flash the image
Installation:
Flash the .zip file from recovery. If coming from another ROM, erase /data and /cache partitions.
Download:
Redux2-31.08-TEST.zip (md5: a27c14e6dd0fb90e8c54ef1c392e198b)
Experimental versions: (These are not supported in any way, and you may not find any use for them)
Redux2-31.08-lite-TEST.zip (md5: 84fd58305dab7e9c3a17f69093e4bcd3) -- This is a stock Redux build with LiveWallpapers, Gmail, Maps, Talk and Email removed. It uses only 75MB of storage.

Read the FAQ below to learn how you can involve in the Redux project.
FAQ:
Q: I've installed it, what now?
A: Enjoy your Desire. Redux comes fully equipped and most usual tasks can be accomplished with the stock apps and settings. Google applications such as Gmail, Maps or Youtube are included as well.
Q: Is this compatible with Oxygen's HBOOT r1 partitioning scheme?
A: Only the LITE builds.
Q: Is this compatible with Oxygen's HBOOT r2 partitioning scheme?
A: Yes, all builds.
Q: I thought this ROM had A2SD. Why isn't there enough space on my phone?
A: Apps are being moved to the ext partition on the card but dalvik-cache is eating up a lot of space. If you can't live with this, download the 'apps_dalvik2ext' script from the add-ons section in the first post. Flash that like a regular update .zip (warning: the .zip isn't signed) and you should have more space on your /data partition.
Q: What about these test builds?
A: These are perfectly stable for daily-use but bugs may appear from time to time since the development speed is quite high. Also, more features are planned for the final versions so there's no need to name things as "final" for no reason. What's the rush?
Q: Will this feature be included in the next release? Please!
A: Having many features is far from this project's purpose. I am going to focus on adding only useful features and ignore stuff like "dude, but I want to have glowing stars on my display!". If you think you have something in mind, you're more than welcome to share your thoughts in this thread and I'll consider it.
Q: What can I do to help? Can I join the team?
A: You can improve Redux at any time, mainly with translations. A guide will be posted in the near future.
Q: Where's the donate button?
A: Look in my signature. Donations are welcome in a humble way; I am not developing this ROM for your money, but for my own pleasure. It started out as a personal project but it has grown on me and I continue to develop Redux even if I no longer have an HTC Desire.
Very nice! Good job!
edit: just wondering if thats the full changelog?
This is not the final version, and as such the feature list will grow in time. I just considered it's better to move the discussion about Redux2 in a separate thread, and leave the old one free for anyone who still uses Redux 1.2 and encounters an issue, needs advice, etc.
Sweet as, Will be looking forward to more updates in the future. Ok if i create redux twitter page? bored
Hi
i am new with your rom i install v1.2 yesterday
if i flash new version without backup should i lose any data or program
also i download the 'apps_dalvik2ext' script in v1.2 should i install it again
I'd guess it'll be ok.
Great!
Thanks for continuation.
Going to try.
Wait for the sources.
I was just testing Cm 7.1 and found to be quite good. But very bloated with features here and there (not to mention bad battery). But i did find a couple of upsides to it.
Music app looked much nicer. Maybe you could theme original, or some how incorporate cm's one. I tried replacing it by pushing cm's to system/app but it didn't work.
The Dsp manager is a neat app too. But then again we can all just push it if we want to all in all great rom!
I had just perfected my customization for test build2 mentioned in 1.2 page and you release this new build.
Why did you make it so tempting ?
Now I'll have to fight the urge to reflash it Today itself.
Damm it !!
Wish you had released on a Friday/ Saturday.
Jokes apart , thanks for this release.
Surely it will be nice. Will try to test it ASAP.
Getting the new build right now. Stoked.

- one suggestion for the ftp server, could you put the current ip-address in an infobar too?
- one information: i had swiftp installed. but now it disappeared from the app list. saw it's installed as a system app. not a big thing

Just flashed it onto my 32B dream.. Everything works, and is fast and snappy as expected except for market.. I ran fix_permissions and rebooted, but market would not show any apps that would regularly show up (kittehface lwp, xda app, etc)
I removed
Code:
setprop dalvik.vm.verify-bytecode false
setprop dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags v=n,o=v
from build.prop, wiped data, and it fixed the problem. When I added these two lines to an AOSP rom I compiled for HD2 a while back, it would bug the build until I removed it and tested it again.

That's odd, I have been running the build on 32b sapphire and have not experienced any issues with market apps. If there are any other reports of the issue, I will remove them from the next release.
Thanks for the feedback, as this is an early release, there are probably going to be some issues that I have not encountered.
This looks promising. I wonder how it is compared to Froyo by Lazslo or DREAMteam Froyo.
Does this ROM use the AOSP Dialer or the CM Dialer? I prefer the CM dialer because it has the dilaer icon next to each contact that has a phone number and the AOSP doesn't (Have to long press to make a phone call :-( )

The rom comes with the AOSP dialer; however, I typically do not include that when I build for myself and instead build with exDialer (touchpal contacts is also good). I can include whichever dialer people feel comfortable with, as long as the developer allows doing so; I personally don't like the regular dialer at all.
maybe add aroma installer, people can choose what they like?

Awesome ROM
This ROM is awesome! It´s exactly what i was waiting for! thank you dude!
Whats this rom like compared to FroyoByLaszlo or DreamTeam?
I don't see languages other than en,de,es,fr and it. It's possible to add all languages? Or just Czech 'cs' ?
And if you are using linaro, did you tested some patches like memset/memcpy? I have Kindle Fire with Linaro patched and compiled ICS, it's faster, in some benchmarks it has 2x faster memory operations.
thanks for this new rom ryree
there's something wrong when playing Youtube, both in browser and official app. its choppy and has a loud hiss every 2 seconds...

Yes, I am having this aswell. Infact barely any apps are showing for me.
How did you do what your saying, do I enter those codes in terminal or something?
Very smooth, but really ...
Install the Media folder, as there is included in the system, and therefore had no sound .... correct??
Thanks to Google translator ....
I have yet to try this soon.
You should add AROMA with many options. It would be the perfect Froyo ROM!
Download Links does not work (for me).
Any reupload possible?
Download worked fine for me.
This. ROM. is. awesome.
It's like Project Butter on Froyo
What MTD sizes would you recommend?

PDroid allows blocking access for any installed application to the following data separately:
Device ID (IMEI/MEID/ESN)
Subscriber ID (IMSI)
SIM serial (ICCID)
Phone and mailbox number
Incoming call number
Outgoing call number
GPS location
Network location
List of accounts (including your google e-mail address)
Account auth tokens
Contacts
Call logs
Calendar
SMS
MMS
Browser bookmarks and history
System logs
SIM info (operator, country)
Network info (operator, country)
For device ID, phone and mailbox number, SIM serial, subscriber ID and device location it also allows supplying custom or random values.
Why you would want to use it:
Applicaitons do NOT crash when access to private data is blocked (unlike with Permissions Denied or CM)
Fine-grained tuning of access to private data
No background service needed
Very small memory footprint (~700KB)
No impact on battery life
No impact on performance (5ms overhead on access to private data; yes, that's 0.005s)
100% reliable unlike ROOT applications (LBE), which need to start their background service on boot (see android underground to learn why this is an issue)
No ROOT required for the app to run
No Android permissions required for the app to run
Open-source

As far as I can tell, this mod is stable. I've been running it for the past week and a half on stock deodexed VRBLK3 no issues. However, as with any system mod, use it at your own risk.
This is a port of PDroid to the Verizon Galaxy S3/TouchWiz. It is based on stock deodexed VRBLK3 and gsbabil's Jelly Bean version of PDroid.
Important notes:
This will overwrite any other mods to framework.jar, services.jar, or core.jar.
If you flash Kinda Crap Mods after flashing this, it might work. Or it might blow up in your face. I don't know.
Don't try this on an ICS ROM, or an earlier Jelly Bean leak. It might work on other deodexed VRBLK3-based ROMs.
I've tested with ClockworkMod. I imagine it will work with TWRP, but I haven't actually tried.
If you find anything which is crashing after installing this mod, let me know here.
---
I've attached two recovery-flashable zips:
pdroid-1.32-VRBLK3.zip is the mod. It will overwrite framework.jar, services.jar, and core.jar with the patched versions.
pdroid-VRBLK3-undo.zip will restore the stock deodexed VRBLK3 framework.jar/services.jar/core.jar
Installation instructions:
Make a nandroid backup!!!
Install the modded PDroid app attached to this post (com.privacy.pdroid-1.32-fixed.apk - the -fixed version is the correct one)
Reboot into recovery
Flash pdroid-1.32-VRBLK3.zip
Wipe cache
Reboot
Open the PDroid app and configure things
Removal instructions:
Restore your nandroid backup
OR
Reboot into recovery
Flash pdroid-VRBLK3-undo.zip to go back to stock deodexed VRBLK3 versions of the modified JARs
Wipe cache
Reboot
Remove the PDroid app
Known Issues:
PDroid app may crash while scanning apps, and not all your apps will be added to the list. I'm not sure why this is happening yet. Unfortunately, the PDroid app apk is obfuscated, making it hard to debug.
Code:
E/AndroidRuntime( 9966): FATAL EXCEPTION: Thread-2350
E/AndroidRuntime( 9966): java.lang.ClassCastException: android.graphics.drawable.ColorDrawable cannot be cast to android.graphics.drawable.BitmapDrawable
E/AndroidRuntime( 9966): at com.privacy.pdroid.i.a(Unknown Source)
E/AndroidRuntime( 9966): at com.privacy.pdroid.d.run(Unknown Source)
Fixed APK is in attached in the first post.
Future plans:
Fix any issues that may arise
Get added to Kinda Crap Mods and/or Auto-Patcher once things are stable
See if it's possible to port PDroid 2.0. That mostly likely won't happen until after my Christmas vacation, though.
Thanks for your work. I hate how apps try to intrude on my personal data.
For anyone else that didn't know what PDroid was:
PDroid allows control over access for any installed application to your private data. This includes:

GPS location

I haven't used LBE in quite some time (on my Evo 4G), so it may be better now. However, last time I used it, it took almost 200 MB of RAM and slowed my phone down a small but noticeable amount. Additionally, it's closed-source and published by a Chinese company, which some people feel uncomfortable about.
PDroid is open-source (the core, not the control panel app). It's integrated directly into the system framework, so it's more robust and a lot lighter-weight. I'm not sure how functionality compares.
I can't thank you enough ninja..this had been a problem for me for years..is there a guide that holds my hand for setup..I'm not to hip on what needs sim access or location and such? Never new of such programs....You and Yours have a Memorable Christmas

Auto-Patcher
I patched the PDroid app to no longer crash when scanning apps. You can grab the new version from the attachment in the first post: com.privacy.pdroid-1.32-fixed.apk.
You must uninstall the original PDroid app before installing the modded version. You cannot simply install the modded version over the original.

Unfortunately, it was all manual. I studied the patch to figure out where the modifications went and reverse engineered parts of the GS3 ROM to find where I needed to put the code. I then built vanilla AOSP with the PDroid patch applied, baksmali'ed it, then manually transplanted code into the Samsung ROM.
It wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but I still had to tweak the code in several places as I was splicing it in.
I'm interested in trying to port PDroid to the I9300 stock ROM, but I don't have a lot of time. I also don't have an I9300, so I would need donations or something to get one.
Sent from my Verizon GSIII using Tapatalk 2
I tested Kinda Crap Mods v2.6 with PDroid-patched stock VRBLK3. No crashes that I can see. However, I still need to check and make sure KCM didn't overwrite any of the PDroid code.
Giving cpr to this thread. .. any plans to update , or to use openpdroid?
What's up ninja? Any plans here or do you have adhd

A little update, I'm giving up on this. Way too many bugs and I can't keep up with them due to me not knowing how to fix and me being too busy with school and work. If anyone wants to port roms to this device i can pm you the guide i used. For now, I think I'll just delete the thread

Could be, this phone had to have had one of the longest runs as far as developing is concerned. Now with Sprint on the verge of doing away with WiMaX, I think it's a safe best that this phone will finally be laid to rest lol
If only they would build another bad arse device with a awesome keyboard. Of all the phones I ever owned this was by far my fav. Which is why I just bought a newish one. hopefully I can find valid links to make it the beast its was ment to be.!
I finally got my Epic out of retirement and flash with 4.4.4 and gapps 4.4.2. this combo has the best stab;e and speed, i tried the open-gapps 4.4.4 but i bogged the phone down alot.
btw anyone have a working link to SlimKAT 4.4.4 only one i have used thus far is CM 4.4.4 unofficial
Hello XDA!
I've been watching HTC One a9 Android Development since I got my a9 in November. Once I got it unlocked and started looking for a rom to suit my needs I realized: there weren't any. I've worked on building a custom Sense based (but Senseless ) rom for about a month now. As there are very few roms for the a9 (CM being the only one I know for sure about) I decided to share. Due to my incredibly low post count I'm not allowed to post in the development thread (mods / admins, please move this to a9 Android Development if possible, if it is not allowed here my apologies)

Using Vaiarom is done AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
Vaiarom requires an unlocked bootloader and s-off.
Vaiarom is designed for hiaeul, though I'm sure converted devices (like mine) as well as supercid devices will work.
Jeremy Vaias (me) will not be held responsible for any problems that might arise when installing Vaiarom.
I worked on this in my spare time and do not have the abilities (yet) to create something more wonderful.
That said, this is my contribution to the community.
Vaiarom is my take on HTC's version of Android. In need of a more 'open' operating system I've removed almost everything from Google and quite a few HTC apps. Gone is the Play Store - replaced by the FDroid repository. Likewise most of Google's default apps have been replaced with alternatives from the FDroid repository.

SuperSU
Busybox
AdAway
Catapult
QKSMS
OpenVPN

Rom development is finally kickin!
Can you please post the FW build number and if it's based on European or US?
Did you replace the stock message app? If yes can we put back the stock one?

Yes the stock messaging app is removed. It can be added to the zip before install or installed afterward. This is built on the US Unlocked version of the base software. Build number has been added to thread title.

I highly doubt anyone will develop anything for this device on the 6.0.0 base. Sunshine is a worthy investment.

I'm not paid by sunshine, I had to pay them to be able to update my phone to 6.0.1.
Idk if you know about this, but I found your op pretty much copy pasted to this website http://www.iraq99.com/vb/t10596599.html

Hello. I am trying it. But i can not open Personize under Settings. So i can not enable Hide Nav Bars.
What is the Name of the Lockscreen which you have integrated?
I'm pretty sure Personalize not working is a direct result of removing something related to Sense home. The lockscreen is just android's built in version. All I did was remove the HTC lockscreen. I'm going to attempt to get this working with an aroma installer so that everyone can keep (or remove) whatever they'd like.
