THERE ARE THREE OPTIONS:
1*Use amit's universal cf root to root ur phone ..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351056
2*OR if you want to make your phone fly... use BAM Kernel, though I dont recommend you to use this if you are still new at android..(only alternative)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1021034&d=1335208836
*Flash these as PDA using Odin .. you can download odin here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/teamacid/files/fb/flash/Odin3%20v1.85.zip/download
3*OR Using SuperOneClick:

BE SURE YOU HAVE INSTALLED THE SAMSUNG USB DRIVERS BEFORE PROCEEDING..

Yes, Dont be scared. Me too im scared before. Just follow the insttructions carefully. Use the link above. The amit's universal root.

If you wanna flash BAM kernel via odin, just click on PDA and the .tar file for the kernel

[Q] i9003 root without CWM in-build?

Hi,
I used CF-ROOT for I9003 on my GF's 9003, however, I found that it include the CWM recovery and it overwrite the original recovery. Why not deploy a simple root like 9001 did.
Following is the root file for 9001, you can just flash the zip file in recovery.
Easy ROOT/UNROOT from Recovery Mode
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253707
Do yo want to brick ours phones? Flashing things form i9001?
Do a search, a simple root .zip is available, but you need a CWM recovery to install it.
Other than that, try super one click. V 1.95 seems to work if not the latest version.
What's wrong with CWM though? It doesn't change much and adds a more comprehensive recovery module over a stock kernel. Cf-root uses the same but adds root and other enhancements.
And please post any questions to the general section henceforth.

I can't use Rebooter now(a application which can restart, power off the phone without the physical power button)
BTW, it seems the root for 9003 is different on differemt ROM, however, I can use the one for 9001 on all Roms.
Please post questions in the general section....

[Q] How to flash..Not getting into my brain..

I have always used HTC phones so don't know the flashing process of samsung and even after seeing many guides i cant understand anything!
I am trying to install TitaniumS v3.2 on his phone based on DDKP3...
He has GINGERBREAD.DDKP2 installed atm...
So I have to flash XXKPE first??
I downloaded everything incl DDKP3...but DDKP3 has only xxxxHOME.tar.md5 and no other file...Guides say i have to use latona and csc and etc..
It is very confusing...please help me out ASAP!!
Yes XXKPE first. XXKPE comes with latona.pit. Here's the guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14933114
Then DDKP3 just use PDA in ODIN. Then flash cf root then install the Titanium Rom.

Find out CF root for your phone from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331253 and root it per instructions on same thread.
Then go ahead and decide on what next ROM you want to install. GO to dev thread for that particular ROM and install by following ALL instructions on that thread. Search Q&A thread in general section for that particular ROM for any questions that you might have. Post question in that thread if you cannot find answers to your questions.

Unable to Root after upgrade to I9003JPKPM
Kies updated my firmware recently to I9003JPKPM and I lost my root access. Previously I was using amit bagaria's universal cf-root.
After the firmware was installed, i again tried to root the universal cf-root. Root was working. But I lost WIFI access. Wifi does not start anymore.
To fix this, I tried unrooting the phone from the menu after pressing Vol Up + Home + Power. It told phone was unrooted. But wifi was not working. I again went back to CWM menu to Root it back.
No matter what I do, now I am unable to get Root back. The menu shows I'm rooted.
But when I go and start a priviledged application, I get an error:
Sample error
Code:
CWM Manager needs SuperUser access to function! If you have SU installed, make sure CWM Manager is not blocked, then reboot and try again.
I tried flashing universal cf-root again but unable to get root access!

Now my phone is messed up by various trials of installing universal cf-root by amit. To return back to a stock kernel, is repartitioning required?
A noob question. Is repartitioning done using a latona pit file? I remember using one when I had switched from froyo to GB.

OK. I did a repartition using latona.pit file, then installed XXKPE, then installed XXLE4 on top of it. I used it for a day and also installed many apps. Now is it OK if i flash bam kernel on top of it? I had read somewhere that bam kernel should only be installed on a fresh stock ROM on its first reboot after flashing. Is it true? or do I have to repeat all the steps XXKPE -> XXLE4 -> bam kernel
i have no success at all some step by step to me? how can i cwm works perfect and install custom rom? im now on xxkpe

You can flash bam's kernel directly.
Edit: it usually is okay, and your data shouldn't be wiped either.

You can flash Bam Kernel via Odin. I'm using it. Download the latest fix version and flash it in pda. It has CWM & it will root the device.

Or use the CF-Root for DDLF2 from here. The procedure is same.

Read this post. If you follow it to the end you'll have CM9 (ICS alpha build)
Stop at end of ddlf2 root step and you should have a rooted ddlf2 build.
PLEASE NOTE, you'll lose all your data. Make sure you take a backup or everything that you'll regret losing later.
Make sure you backup all your contacts to your google account.

1-Root phone and install cwm.
2-Do full nandroid backup.
3. Select the ROM zip from your SD Card and flash.
4. Go to Advanced -> Reboot Recovery.
5. After the Recovery restarts, Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
6. Mounts and Storage -> Format dbdata

8. Reboot
Are these steps also correct or I would be messed up..........
Once again thnx N u r a gr8 dev and helpful person.........:good:
