Your suppose to get the error message. Then, u go into control panel, and go to device manager and right click apx device, update, browse for the drivers and choose the whole folder.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA

Definitely don't use rom manager on the g2x for anything except fix permissions.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium

1st thing never use from manager to flash CWM , its a fake flash in fact I'm pretty sure all devs for the g2x say don't do it because **** can go wrong.
now go into device manager and look for apex device and right click and select update driver. then choose locate driver manually or the equivalent option I can't remember the options and then navigate the Nvflash folder and open the apex folder and threre will be two files one for 32 and 64 bit system choose the appropriate one and then you're done.

Did you unzip the apx folder before installing driver. Extract apx folder in different place than zip file. If it doesn't work you have to uninstall all apx driver and install again.
Try i386 and make sure you have administrator rights , also disable UAC from control panel

Make sure u have a g2x folder in it C/

Cant get into recovery

well since u already know that by going into recovery, the long way, not rom manager shortcut way (witch we all know has it's issues), u have to hold down the power and vol down buttons at the same time, after powering off the phone, you should wait a little bit until it refreshes the status, and then try to select recovery with vol down for scrolling and power for select, once in recovery you can do your magic with the trackball,
i really hope for your sake that this is the problem, and not another that will have to make you repeat the whole rooting process all over again.
Pull the battery then hold down volume and then the power button.

Make sure you have installed clockworkmod recovery. You can double check by going into Rom Manager and using the top option to flash the current recovery (2.5.1.2)
after it has flashed succesfully you should be able to use the "reboot into recovery" option in Rom Manager without a problem.
Everytime i go to recovery from rom manger or bootloader it reboots the phone. what's wrong????
Nothing is wrong. "Recovery" is a standalone, bootable program. It is its own operating environment, and is not an Android App.
I know, im trying to get into recovery to put a new mod on my phone but its reboots everytime I push recovery.

Try installing it again through rom manager. And are you sure you are rooted fully? Try going into Terminal Emulator and type su. Tell me what happens.
Rom Manager only knows what .img files are on the SD card repository it keeps for flashing. It cannot tell you the state of flashed content.
My guess is a failed flash of ClockworkMod Recovery. Re-flash, either with Rom Manager or with fastboot.
Ok I checked if I was rooted and yes it gives me superuser. The rom manger the same as before.

So if you tried flashing the recovery again thru Rom Manager and it says it was succesfull, I am not sure why you wouldnt be able to get into recovery either by using rom manager or by holding down the volume button and hitting power button. Then choose recovery and it should put you there. Unless you dont have a recovery, then it cant work. It should at least try to boot you into stock or something.
My suggestion would be to set up adb/fastboot and trying to enter recovery that way. If it still doesnt work then you can try pushing the recovery.img via fastboot and see if that works.
Here is a guide for adb/fastboot that takes 2 minutes to set up.

Fastboot is a client/server application. The client is the phone, the server a Linux or Windows workstation with the Android SDK installed. The interconnection is a USB cable.
If you have the SDK, or you've read about it, you may have read of a tool called "adb". Fastboot is like adb. Except adb requires a running Android OS with USB debugging turned on. Fastboot doesn't. It just requires the bootloader to be running. No Android required.
For more information, try using a) Forum search, and b) Google search. They're great tools.

It boots me into thesamsung recovery screen, not cwm. Thamx for the reply.

In that case, you'll need a modified 3e file in order to get CWM up and running instead of Samsung recovery: Modified 3e Tutorial
I tried the modified 3 e file. I renamed it and and copied it to the root of the sd card.. Reboot into recovery and selected reinstalled packages once.. It gave me the error of saying the file does not exist on mnt/internal_sd card selected reinstall packages and same error. No luck here been trying it for days. Thnx for the reply.

Find and follow the ultimate unbrick instructions. It'll get you rooted and have cwm.

are you using Rom manager to get CWM
if so, i have noticed that i have the same problem unless i do everything twice, including the install CWM portion.
i have install CWM 2 times, the reboot into recovery and install packages 2 times to get to the CWM Recovery.
otherwise yes i would say just flash the Ultimate Unbrick and get into it that way.
I did use ultimate unbrick.. supposedly to go back to stock. Some file from serendipity infused rom are still on my phones, cant get rid of it. And now the base is uckd5.. what dies that mean. I did partition when doing ultimate unbrick.. and do I have to root again? Confused here. Thanks for the reply.

.......infuse.....Infused....infusion.........
You forgot to adjust the permissions of your new recovery file.
then dont use the Ultimate Unbrick, use another back to stock method. i use gtg's other Md5sum with odin to flash back to stock after i use the Ultimate unbrick because the ultimate unbrick does not allow unsigned packages, so i run the Ultimate then i Run his other Back to stock to get past the unsigned error and Flash the Update.Zip that Rom manager makes to get into CWM......
after that i just WIPE and FLASH like crazy........lol
if i get hung up i just rinse and re-use.

you just go to install zip from SD card, then select choose zip (maybe those are in reverse order - i'm not in recovery right now, so this is just from memory, but you should get the gist), then find where you saved the serendipity zip on your SD card, select it, go to yes... and that should be it, assuming you are coming from stock froyo.
I went to install zip from sd card but I dont see the S7 zip file. I did copy it to the root of the sd card cuz when I reboot back to system I see that its there but not when I try to install it from sd card in cwm. Hmmm anyone.. Help.

1st. post in the correct section. This way you can get your answer quicker and you're not annoying everyone.
2nd. Find yourself a WINDOWS PC and install android SDK and all drivers for your phone to be recognizable. Then follow one of the posts in here to flash recovery.
You could also install ROM manager from the market and use it to flash recovery through it but its always good to have a proper SDK setup for this type of emergency.
This has happened to me before and I have fixed it by flashing the latest cwmr multiple times.
Try using a different USB cable if your com still doesn't recongize it.

Would flash image gui work well to flash twrp?

Flash twice in rom manager. See if that changes anything. Don't reboot between just one after another. Also, in rom manager hit menu and clear download cache before you try flashing.

PLEASE HELP. Phone wont boot into CWM or power on

UPDATE: Phone has been resurrected. Thanks to mainly Pain-N-Panic as well as a few other who helped.
Turned out I just had to flash the stock ROM on my phone about 20 billion times before it finally worked.
BUT now, Anytime I make a call, It makes a loud static clicking sound. Any help?
So I flashed Eaglesblood onto my phone using ROM Manager, which bricked my phone.
I immediately began looking up how to unbrick it.
I found the tutorial by TGA Gunnman to flash CWM and followed it verbatim. > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
Successfully installed APX drivers, as well as successfully flashed CWM onto my phone.
At first I was getting bootloader errors, which i discovered by putting the battery in while running the flash worked.
My phone is unresponsive to pressing the power button as well as putting it into CWM recovery mode.
also tried doing that one, and my phone booted up to the LG logo screen, then crashed.
If anyone could please help me.
Well the first thing you did wrong was using Rom Manager to try and flash a ROM. You should be using clockworkmod recovery. Do you have CWM installed on the phone? And when I say installed, did you flash it via NvFlash?
---------- Post added at 11:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:52 PM ----------
Also, you have update the drivers once you download them. Turn off your phone, hold the VOLUME DOWN AND VOLUME UP button (without holding the power buttong and then plug in your phone while holding them. Once your computer makes a noise or shows a pop up signaling that it recognizes your device you can let go of the buttons. From there you should see an APX icon with an error exclamation mark. Right click it and select install drivers. Select choose file from my PC. Click on "have disc" and select the APX drivers. Install them. Now you should be able to see the files on your phone. I recommend flashing CWM with NvFlash, follow the directions HERE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847. Did you make a nandroid backup of your original ROM? If you did, after you flash CWM with NvFlash, boot into recovery by holding down the VOLUME DOWN button and the POWER button. I would do a full wipe then choose backup/restore. Go to the restore folder and restore your original ROM.
To be honest im not sure what you mean exactly. I did download an app called clockword recovery mod, and before i installed Eaglesblood, it said "do you want to save your current ROM" or something like that and i checked it. Update, I installed all the proper drivers to where my computer will detect my phone. When i run the flash recovery program on my computer it runs through several steps then says failed.
Re: Help!! Phone hard bricked and wont boot
Are you using NvFlash? I think the problem is that you used rom manager. The app rom manager is not a proper installation of clock work mod recovery. You have to use NvFlash to properly install cwm

When you hold down the power button and the volume down button while the phone is off, does it boot into cwm? If so, select backup/restore and then choose restore. In that folder, if rom manager backed up your rom you should see a file with a bunch of random numbers.....that's your back up. Select it to restore it. I recommend doing a full wipe before u do that though

This. Make sure your battery is out of your phone when installing drivers. However, if your phone has installed eaglesblood, you may need to install the modified ICS ADB drivers. You should be able to find a download link for the adb drivers in the eaglesblood thread.

Sorry, noob here. What do you mean gb rom and how do i go about putting it on my external sd? my external sd is completely blank no files do i have to make a certain file name or path for it to read it?
Gb means gingerbread. Its the stock format for the g2x's rom. Since you can't boot the phone, download gb rom (weapon 2.3.3 is an example or Hellfire but they also make an ICS so make sure you don't download that one) on your PC and move it to the external SD with while viewing the files on your computer. Then proceed to thread that twitch referred you to and carry out the fix then flash the rom from your external SD with CWM on your phone. Hope it works man
After reading the thread that twitch sent you, that should work. Just make sure to follow the directions closely. Any questions just ask

Not fubar yet buddy. Get into fastboot and proceed from there. A quick search should provide ample answers. Give me 5 and I'll write you a step by step if need be.
On my phone. Limited with links and all.

That link works, thanks. Don't know why I didn't see it in my search. Following steps....
argh, driver issue now. Installed the updated USB drivers from the SDK but when I'm in CWM recovery mode I had a banged out device. Had to install the naked drivers... Boy, this is fun. :silly:
Tried every build available aswell tried both manual root/Su and CF Auto root but no combination will it load, will also do a system restore on my main rig after messing around with all the random driver installations.
Try it on a spare laptop, you never know, might get lucky.
I did notice on the log file in CWM after installation there are 2 file that cannot be installed, I do not know if that has anything to do with it or not, looks like some sort of addon folder that cant be located. Only other thing I can think of is using a more stable version of CWM.
Try twrp and see if you have the same issues. http://d-h.st/YpG. Just flash it in cwm.
If all else fails, flash a factory system image and then format /data and the cache partitions.
This will get your device working while you learn more about how to flash it, and recover it if necessary.

You flash the stock image, try extract the files and execute the flash-all batch file.
