PLEASE HELP. Phone wont boot into CWM or power on - T-Mobile LG G2x

UPDATE: Phone has been resurrected. Thanks to mainly Pain-N-Panic as well as a few other who helped.
Turned out I just had to flash the stock ROM on my phone about 20 billion times before it finally worked.
BUT now, Anytime I make a call, It makes a loud static clicking sound. Any help?
So I flashed Eaglesblood onto my phone using ROM Manager, which bricked my phone.
I immediately began looking up how to unbrick it.
I found the tutorial by TGA Gunnman to flash CWM and followed it verbatim. > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
Successfully installed APX drivers, as well as successfully flashed CWM onto my phone.
At first I was getting bootloader errors, which i discovered by putting the battery in while running the flash worked.
My phone is unresponsive to pressing the power button as well as putting it into CWM recovery mode.
also tried doing that one, and my phone booted up to the LG logo screen, then crashed.
If anyone could please help me.

Well the first thing you did wrong was using Rom Manager to try and flash a ROM. You should be using clockworkmod recovery. Do you have CWM installed on the phone? And when I say installed, did you flash it via NvFlash?
---------- Post added at 11:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:52 PM ----------
Also, you have update the drivers once you download them. Turn off your phone, hold the VOLUME DOWN AND VOLUME UP button (without holding the power buttong and then plug in your phone while holding them. Once your computer makes a noise or shows a pop up signaling that it recognizes your device you can let go of the buttons. From there you should see an APX icon with an error exclamation mark. Right click it and select install drivers. Select choose file from my PC. Click on "have disc" and select the APX drivers. Install them. Now you should be able to see the files on your phone. I recommend flashing CWM with NvFlash, follow the directions HERE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847. Did you make a nandroid backup of your original ROM? If you did, after you flash CWM with NvFlash, boot into recovery by holding down the VOLUME DOWN button and the POWER button. I would do a full wipe then choose backup/restore. Go to the restore folder and restore your original ROM.

To be honest im not sure what you mean exactly. I did download an app called clockword recovery mod, and before i installed Eaglesblood, it said "do you want to save your current ROM" or something like that and i checked it. Update, I installed all the proper drivers to where my computer will detect my phone. When i run the flash recovery program on my computer it runs through several steps then says failed.

Re: Help!! Phone hard bricked and wont boot
Are you using NvFlash? I think the problem is that you used rom manager. The app rom manager is not a proper installation of clock work mod recovery. You have to use NvFlash to properly install cwm

When you hold down the power button and the volume down button while the phone is off, does it boot into cwm? If so, select backup/restore and then choose restore. In that folder, if rom manager backed up your rom you should see a file with a bunch of random numbers.....that's your back up. Select it to restore it. I recommend doing a full wipe before u do that though

I've followed all instructions very carefully. This is the message I get when i run the one click flash.
i49 .tinypic. com/152dxua.jpg

when i click the volume down and power it says S/W somehting

When i try to manually install CWM recovery, it says my APX driver is not correct or check my USB cable. I followed all instructions on installing proper APX drivers

help anyone? please

Describe in detail the steps you take so we can figure out what's going on.
Seems like you're all over the place.

Have you correctly installed the APX drivers like I explained in the above post?

This. Make sure your battery is out of your phone when installing drivers. However, if your phone has installed eaglesblood, you may need to install the modified ICS ADB drivers. You should be able to find a download link for the adb drivers in the eaglesblood thread.

I suggest you don't create any more threads regarding this matter and also refrain from using bad language anywhere, including the title of your duplicated threads.
Creating more and more threads is not going to help with anything so they have all been deleted excluding this one.
You already have people here that are trying to assist you but if you don't provide the step-by-step of what you did, their help is only guesswork.

Try using this. Just make sure you have a gb rom in your external sd ready to flash afterward.

Sorry, noob here. What do you mean gb rom and how do i go about putting it on my external sd? my external sd is completely blank no files do i have to make a certain file name or path for it to read it?

Gb means gingerbread. Its the stock format for the g2x's rom. Since you can't boot the phone, download gb rom (weapon 2.3.3 is an example or Hellfire but they also make an ICS so make sure you don't download that one) on your PC and move it to the external SD with while viewing the files on your computer. Then proceed to thread that twitch referred you to and carry out the fix then flash the rom from your external SD with CWM on your phone. Hope it works man
After reading the thread that twitch sent you, that should work. Just make sure to follow the directions closely. Any questions just ask

Your suppose to get the error message. Then, u go into control panel, and go to device manager and right click apx device, update, browse for the drivers and choose the whole folder.

Definitely don't use rom manager on the g2x for anything except fix permissions.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
1st thing never use from manager to flash CWM , its a fake flash in fact I'm pretty sure all devs for the g2x say don't do it because **** can go wrong.
now go into device manager and look for apex device and right click and select update driver. then choose locate driver manually or the equivalent option I can't remember the options and then navigate the Nvflash folder and open the apex folder and threre will be two files one for 32 and 64 bit system choose the appropriate one and then you're done.

Did you unzip the apx folder before installing driver. Extract apx folder in different place than zip file. If it doesn't work you have to uninstall all apx driver and install again.
Try i386 and make sure you have administrator rights , also disable UAC from control panel
Make sure u have a g2x folder in it C/

if the instructions to root & flash rom seem too complicated, perhaps it is best that you don't try it on your own. There are services, example mobiletechvideos, that will do it for a fee.
as far as the cable goes, any samsung micro usb phone cable, should do both charging and data fine.
fyi, you probably want to post future questions to the Captivate Q&A forum.

I didn't flash my phone for years because I was too worried about losing data and dealing with all the random garbage of flashing, random errors, bootloops etc. that happen without warning, but trust me, when I did it, it wasn't as bad as I thought. Initially, I had errors and had to reflash to stock by download some other software, so crap happens but I'm decent at flashing now and I only started 2 weeks ago.
I had some trouble and had a thread on this forum and people were helping me and I was helping myself. Have to learn how to do this and then it becomes easy.
But I feel terrible about it because I've hated this phone since the day I got it but with the CM10 fixes it runs so amazingly that I should just keep it, but I still hate it so much I want an S3. Its amazing with the right ROM. I just wish I had flashed it way earlier so that I could enjoy using it instead of hating it for crashing all the time and being laggy.
EDIT: I'll post the guide in another thread
^
There is absolutely no need to get Root before trying to flash a custom rom.
You must, however, use Odin or Heimdall to flash a kernel that has the CWM Recovery. When you have done this, you simply need to reboot into said cwm recovery and flash the rom of your choice.
Please read the Stickied Threads in the General and Q & A Forums. This will help you a lot.

When its time to install clockworkmod ?
Will u help me step by step please?
There are a very few steps for you to install CM9/CM10.
1. On your computer, search for "Odin3 1.85" on Google. The first link should be an XDA link which will directly download Odin3. Unzip it and execute the Odin .exe file.
2. Now search "how to install cm7 captivate wiki", click the second link and scroll down to see "WARNING: INSTALLING A CUSTOM RECOVERY IMAGE ON THE SAMSUNG CAPTIVATE WILL VOID THE WARRANTY." Below that you can download mtcarey's Kernel with ClockworkMod Recovery 5.
3. Put your Captivate in Download mode. To do this, turn it off, hold both volume up and down buttons and plug the phone to your computer. You will probably need Samsung Galaxy S drivers to make the computer to recognize the phone. (I'm not sure about the link, I'll try to get it later)
4. In Odin, make sure the phone is added in the Message box. Click PDA and choose the CWM kernel .tar file you just downloaded. Make sure that ONLY "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" are checked and then click start. Your phone will reboot shortly!
5. You now have a custom recovery in your phone, which will allow you to install any custom ROM. Unplug your phone, remove the battery and put it back on. Hold both volume buttons and the power button to make your phone to boot into Recovery mode. Plug the phone back and in the recovery, navigate to Mounts and Storage with volume buttons. Press Power to select. Now press Mount USB Storage to mount the phone to your computer.
6. Go to get.cm website and find "captivatemtd" in the left section. There you can download the latest CM10 nightly and put it into your phone! Be patient for the download. On your computer, eject your phone, unmount it in recovery and you can unplug it. Navigate to Install zip from SD card, choose zip and find the ROM you downloaded. Wait for it to finish and that's it, enjoy Android Jelly Bean!
Note that your recovery is now ClockworkMod Recovery 6. You can keep this recovery or install another kernel if you want. Search for "captivate android development" on Google, open the XDA link and find a thread that begins with [Kernel][JellyBean] like Devil and Semaphore kernels.

After installing CM9 or 10 The phone uses the kernel of the Rom installed?
Iv read a lot of guides
Yours and one of the member korockinout13 was the simplest ones
Yours use odin and the other heimdall
All the guides are the same and in the finish all have same result?
I hope I helped you and you didn't have any issues!
I suppose they have the same result. The kernel installed in a CyanogenMod ROM comes with the original CWM recovery but I don't think this is a stock ICS/JB kernel.
You can use Heimdall or Odin, maybe the features are different but I'm used to Odin.

yes, by flashing a CWM rom, you will be able to backup and restore your current rom as well as flash new roms, by using the three button startup.
if you do the three button startup with your existing non-CWM rom, you will get a simple stock recovery menu but it won't let you do much. hope this helps.

I'm not sure you're right. If your flash the kernel I described (Corn kernel I think), you will then be able to boot into CWM recovery and make a backup. If you want to only backup your apps or SMS, use Titanium Backup. You will need to have root permissions to do this. Go on androidsu dot com slash superuser and download Superuser 3.2 RC3 for ARM devices. You will have to flash it in recovery mode.

No, unless this is the kernel I told you to download in step 2 (mtcarey's kernel). Flash this one and you will be able to flash CyanogenMod. The phone will probably reboot the recovery when you will start flashing. If the installation doesn't resume automatically, just reflash the zip and you're done.
I got it
Cyanogen mod only "wants" the "mtcarey's Kernel" ?

Why not? TWRP can mount sd as mass storage. When you done that put boot.img somewhere easy to get at and use All-In-One Toolkit to flash it but the Toolkit calls it kernel so use that part to do it.

[Q] i have a serious issue. bricked?

i recently flashed the stock rom for my phone, which didn't work too well for some reason. SO i went an flashed domination ics.
through futzing around in terminal emulator, i've removed all apps in data/app, and i can't get into recovery to flash a different rom.
i've used superoneclick and done everything, it flashes a recovery, but after holding the buttons until the lg image turns blue.. it just locks.
the soft button lights eventually fade, and touching it turns them back on, but does nothing otherwise.
is this bricked? if so, can someone tell me how to fix it?

crisis averted. I managed to get the phone to take a backup of the original software someone uploaded ,the v21y one.
It's now getting a copy of all my backed up apps so the person i'm giving it to can install what they want to play with.
secondary question, though.
Is there a way to get root rights, without flashing a whole rom? I'd rather leave it on the stock rom, and just have root for apps that need it (like titanium backup)

Bootloop after reinstalling cyanogenmod

Good afternoon, (although it is here in Holland)
After updating my cyanogen to a new nightline version the tablet didn't start up anymore. But I still could acces clockworkmod recovery mode. First I downloaded a new version of cynogenmod and placed it on a external sd-card and tried to install it (within clockwork). That didn't work cause I received the "status 7" error. After that I tried to transfer the ROM-file using ADB (adb push.....) and the result was again a status 7 error. Even when I deleted the first lines that should cause the error (the updater-scripte) *(yes I do have the correct version). In the end of this horrorstory I typed in ADB restart bootloader or something like that and the system rebooted in download-mode. The screen displayed downloading,, please don't shut down or something alike. I didn't touch the tablet for several minutes but than my patience reached it limit and pressed the power button to restart. But now I can't acces neither the download mode nor the recovery mode.
What can I do or should I do? I believe that I should flash the whole thing again by using Odin or Heimdall? IMO my opinion that means first reinstalling clockworkmod on the machine.
For the new nightlies you need a cwm version. > 6.0.4.4

I somehow can enter download-mode again. Didn't try if I also can enter recovery mode. I want to flash a new CWM on the device using Odin. But when I download my CMW version for the Galaxy tab 10.1. But when I try to open the file. They are all corrupted ??? Windows sees it as a .img file.

So my first question; do you have a custom recovery on your tablet? Second question; can you get into recovery? If yes to both, then get into recovery, flash the new recovery zip, then restart your recovery under the advanced option. You should then have the newest recovery (yes, I realize how redundant it sounds to use recovery to update recovery, but this is the process on my phone, so don't why it would be different here).

Yes, I do have a custom recovery on my tablet and question 2: No I can't
I am trying to flash a new recovery on my device using Odin. In the download mode Odin is also stated in red. (ODIN Mode, productname GT_P5110, Custom binary download: Yes (1 count), custom binary: custom.
But when I download the zipped recovery-clockwork-6.0.2.7-p5110 file. I can't open the file using Winzip or Winrar. It should contain a .tar file??
With a small program called "tarmaker" I converted the IMG file to a tar file so I could use it within Odin. I loaded the tar file in the {AP} box and pressed start. I still can't load the machine into recovery mode. :crying: But When I now go into dowload-mode (Odin-mode) the custom binary downlaod has changed to 3. Probally because already 1 was installed and I tried to reflash it two times
Okay bro, here is the method I used to root my Tab:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535083
I'm not sure if you have a wifi only version, the 7" or the 10.1", but, the first time I tried to root I used this method which put me into custom recovery. I screwed up and didn't press the "disable stock recovery" option and couldn't get back into custom recovery. So I hooked it back up, went into odin, redid the process. It put me back into the custom recovery at which point I disabled the stock recovery and success! So basically, according to odin, I rooted twice but have had zero problems. I'm not sure if this will work or even help you, but it's worth a shot. I used the Philz P5110 zip (I have the 5113). If this doesn't work, then I would suggest seeing if I Android-Andi can help, the dude knows his stuff...

Oh, and just so you know, my version of the Tab does not have the bootloader to worry about. For all I know that could be were the issue lies...

I made it... Almost I finally have a CMW working again. The difference with my previous tries was that I now unchecked "F-reset Times" in Odin. But when I try to upload a new version of Cyanogenmod using ADB push "filename.zip" /sd I dont get any results when I want to install the zip. (No files found).
The counter in Download (ODIN Mode) is now 5 counts (Custom binary download: Yes 5 counts). Should that make any difference?
No, flash count shouldn't affect anything. The counter on my phone is probably huge! Ha! Have you tried flashing CM through recovery?

Yes I did. Ha! But when I try to upload the file by using ADB no files are found when I go to install from SDcard. When I go to mounts and storage and I press mount /sd card. Nothing happens. I wonder if i should repartition the SD card somehow. (I have red something about it) Would that help?
I'm trying to install Jellybean, and I put the .zip file on my phone via USB before rebooting into recovery. When I press "choose zip from sdcard" it says No files found.
I even tried the following command:
adb push ./bigxie_JRN84D_rooted_busybox_deodexed.zip /sdcard
But it still says no files found.
I'm using a Galaxy nexus, which doesn't use a sdcard, only internal memory so maybe I am doing something wrong.
My phone is currently bricked and won't boot, so the only thing I can do is use recovery mode.
Any help would be appreciated.
Edit:
Tried unmounting and remounting everything, and it worked.

This is what I mean. But I can't mount or unmount my sdcard. Or it seems there doesn't happen anything.
When I try to sideload a rom, wherin I deleted the lines in the updater-script what should fix the status 7 error, I still get a status 7 error.
When trying to push the ROM using ADB, No Files Found appaears when pressing install from sdcard.. Whaa! But when I push the files it seems that are transferred correctly:
C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\Desktop\adt-bundle-windows-x86-20131030\sdk\platform-too
ls>adb push goedddd.zip /sd
adb server is out of date. killing...

Any ideas?
I don't know how but I fixed it! The tablet suddenly turned of and when I plugged it into the charger and tried to start it, it suddenly started booting Cyanogenmod. Crazy! I now have a stable version installed (10,1). But now I still have to install Gapps on my tablet. But now I can't access CWM anymore, neither downloadmode. Crazy again. Maybe it is because my battery is low on fuel.
