Hi there! I'm looking to Thu phone to change my old hd2, anyway the fact of non micro sd slot is a bad point. Is anyone find out if the internal memory is obtained with a hidden sd inside the phone that could be changed somehow by disassembly the phone??
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA
i doubt theres any hidden sd inside lol, otherwise they would have changed to design to allow that sd to be removed
settle for 16gb and use the cloud. Or get another phone with expandable memory
Windows phone model has hidden sd officialy not interchangeable..

So your saying there could be just a removable SD card in the phone ??
i thought HTC would have used better hardware than that lol..
I for one do not want to disassemble my phone just to find out..

Umm you actually got 25 GB with your One S..as in Gigabytes...just thought you should know.
But for reference, the 500 free mb is when someone signs up for dropbox using your screen name as a reference.

Yes the HTC hd7 had a standard class 2 16 gab micro SD card that u could remove and put a 32gb SD card only problem was u had to completely diss assemble the phone to get at it

i am shocked at that !!
if that is the case, Surely making a slot on the casing wouldnt have been a difficult job.. Then there would be expandable memory...
yeah but someone has to disassemble the phone first to check if there really is a micro sd just like the HD7..
i dare you to do it
This has more to do with control than anything else. I hate to say it but the iphone doesn't have expandability and as a phone its done just fine and now also has a cloud system. The SD card slot is fading away I think. Most of us have wifi in most of the places we go generally so using the cloud isn't all bad but it isn't all good either. But just think when was the last time you used a floppy drive? Not implementing a sd card slot and removable battery has given way to an elegant design. I think most of us can deal. Change.

Sd card write: 20MB/s
Sd card read: 45MB/s
Not really Sd card perfs(or class 20 ), I don't think we can have a doubt that's it's integrated flash...

It's possible to expand memory with micro-usb to USB support.

What's more surprising is that you didn't do your homework before you bought the phone.
You're probably one of the only one's with this phone who has a problem with the lack of mem slot. The other 99.9% of us were fully aware of this, and didn't care, as I don't see how I could fill up all 16gb, given that there are cloud music services and what-not nowadays.

How does internal memory sucks?
I mean, the SD Card feature is really nice to have and silly not to include it. But it was not included because there wasn't enough room for it with NFC and all of that.
It sucks that we don't have sdcards but we can live without it. Am I saying future phones shouldnt feature it anymore? No. I think it should definitely stay. But can we live without them? Sure.
my biggest complaint about lack of sdcard is all the people who refused to get this phone due to it saying no sdcard slot is stupid they would never buy a phone that has "locked" storage... and then pull out their ipod...

It's even funnier when people criticize the phone (way back when it first came out) and was like without a sd card, you cant flash ROMs. That's what makes me laugh so hard. If they made the iNAND to be 32GB instead of 16GB I bet it would of made more consumers happy
The whole no sdcard is a misconception because they think the phone itself doesn't have storage.

Classic! Although I filled an sd with 16g already all it took was many 720 p recordings on the epic camcorder, 4 movies (hangover, pulp fiction, kat williams pimp chronicles, and lord of war) plus half my music collection. Oh and about 15 diff nandroids which can get pretty big (that's what she said). It really was pointless keeping all that on the as but I did because I could

good news is i bought from CEX which is a hardware store and they only had one in stock, i trust CEX with my heart as they are awesome, and i dont think they would have knowingly done this and sold me it, they explained today when i took it back that they were sorry.
I said it was fine and it happens, but they said they couldnt do anything till they had fully tested it, so i said not to worry and they gave me a microSD adaptor to see if it could make any difference and sadly it didnt... ,
I will take it back and let them test it and ill tell them to load lots of data on it and see where it goes xd , thats what happened to me
So i fight on
These memorette microsd are pure garbage. Just google them, you'll see a load of people with problems.
Stick with the legit makers, don't skimp on your data storage.
Would anyone want to buy my G2x that has an unusable sdcard slot and punched out glass on back cover? Btw, I am paying $2.99 a month for 25gb on Google cloud in addition to my Dropbox account and if I want more space I can get 100gb for $10.
I can't get videos to stream from Dropbox without first marking the file as a Favorite (which then makes a local copy). So cloud storage is not a great solution. And that was using WiFi. I know Dropbox just a day ago updated their app for better streaming support but I haven't tested it yet. I hope it works better.
The storage is a 16GB Samsung NAND chip that is soldered to the board there is no way to upgrade it.

The trick is to hack the phone to make Dropbox think you have a different phone. Dropbox gives out more storage to Samsung GS3 than to the HTC One X. Look it up and you'll find the way to do it. But I agree it is a bit unethical. I'm happy with what I got from Dropbox for HTC devices.
On every ROM I have used, it addresses the internal storage as either "/sdcard", or "/sdcard0". Would it be possible to replace the internal SD card with an aftermarket 32GB card? Assuming I got the phone dis-assembled, would it just be a plug-and-play operation, or would I need to actually soldier on a new chip to the motherboard?
