Hi,
I know, that isn't only one thread about TBS but I can't ask again...
Why is for Android (maybe for other mobile OS too) so less TBS like Warlords (and Warlords 2)? Warlords is for mobile touch displays perfect and no one develop them.
I see only "Populus Romanus" on market that looks like Warlords (look like Warlords more than other TBS like Android games).
Why, why not... why... :'(
Battleloot Adventure?
turn based RPG though
ive never played warlords though
anyways, wrong section =.=
Thanks for tip.
Also if this thread in wrong section, please, transfer it wherever you need
The best turn based strategy games on my phone are not android apps at all. The goto tbs strategy games I have are all run in andosbox.
Master of Orion
Master of Orion 2
Heroes of Might and magic II (I know there is an android port of this, but the ai is messed up, and running the original in a dos emulator the AI works much better. It is just fairly hard to find the original (you wont find it on google, but there are search engines that will find the dos version).

Is there a way to port the old dos-95-98 games to ppc, if theres any tutorials or out that would be great, because i dont mind porting alot of games to this language, after all ive heard good game conversions to 4-5 days
thanks
You would need the source code of the games you want to convert. Otherwise, you need an emulator for the OS/Game, or you need to rewrite the game by reverse engineering. 4-5 days would be optimistic for that.

thanks for the fast reply, I have a source code for a game I want yes
this game is homeworld - space strategy, its specs fit into the uni and I would resize textures and redo meshing on the models too
any thoughts
if i were you i'd contact some of all those people who
ported games like doom1-2 quake1-2 dukenuke'm heretic, hexen
personaly i think homeworld use soo much direct3d that
it's not likely that it will work software renderd
or even with the current 3d chips on pda's but who knows
does any one on here remember the game Chips Challange??? if not i have posted a copy of the game is there any way that some one can tell me how i can get it on my phone to play...
Of course I remember it
But, it's a very old game now (was originally made for Windows 3.1), and also, normal Windows apps don't work on Windows Mobile. Unless someone makes a clone of it for Windows Mobile, you won't be able to get it on your phone
Good idea, for any game developers reading this.
i love that damn game and it always seems like it changes everytime i play it
had it on the atari lynx, think it was the game that came with it, quality tho!
Hi,
Wondering if anybody would be interested to port the great classic game Paradroid to our Android platform. If I would be able, I would do it myself, but without programmer know how ... Good thing is that there is already a Linux version available (incl. source code), so this should not be so difficult or?
http://paradroid.sourceforge.net/
For sure you might play it via Frodo C64, but a standalone app is much better.
Anybody?

I played Paradroid 90 for the Amiga. I would try it if it were available, but not particularly enough to hold my breath for it. I'm not sure if in all of my Amiga emulation if I already have the Amiga version still.
I know up front that I'm probably going to get some 'you're a super noob' responses on this, but just entertain me. Deus Ex 1 is probably my favorite game of all time, and I know you can emulate other games (I have Zelda Ocarina of Time on a N 64 emulator), but has anyone tried to emulate PC games from around the 1999/2000 era? If you can't, is it a hardware limitation, or has no one just written any emulators for PC games with mobile OSs in mind? Call me a wishful thinker, but I just want to know if it would be possible and sorry for asking such a silly question. Also, no I didn't get my phone to play games, this idea just popped into my head. Thanks.
I would love to see this happen

I wouldn't ever imagine there to be a PC emulator. Consoles just play a game from disk so emulation is simple. PC games install and we don't have a window registry environment here.

Wine is able to run Deus Ex in Linux distributions, and Android runs the Linux kernel. There was talk of bringing Wine to android about a year ago but nothing seems to have materialized.
That said, Deus Ex is available on OnLive, so you could always go that route. Or use Kainy.
I think we're years off a successful wine implementation. That's not the only challenge either. What about controls?

There is a game from 1998 which is being ported to android - Half life. It runs on a custom build of GoldSRC engine called Xash3D.

Thats right, and thers also possible to run games like Diablo 2 or Heroes 3 on droid device, so why not DX1? It would be awesome.
Original DeusEx on Android
Original Half-Life port has been Successfully Implemented on the Android Platform as of this Current Writing! I already have it Running on my Nexus7 Tablet.
Now Speaking of Tablets, I now have Shield K1 Tablet from Amazon ($199) which is Pretty Good. I was thinking about playing with a Bluetooth Keyboard - Either Physical, or Virtually like a Phone. That would leave the Screen Clutter Free so you could enjoy the Games Visuals. If Half-Life 1 is possible, Certainly Original or Even the New Revision Mod for The Game Should be Feasible. What do you think? I use my phone for Lots of Stuff these days, why not with a Virtual Keyboard via Bluetooth like BluezIME? That Would be GREAT!!!
Actually, if you'df like to play particularly 1998 full version of Deus Ex PC game as is on your Android mobile device, there is a simple way. Use ExaGear Strategies app and this instruction to set up and play this title - https://eltechs.com/deus-ex-pc-game-on-android/
Hi, I've been using this emulator for a while now, mostly playing Capcom games from the CPS1 to CPS3 era. I'm now looking at some Irem games, mainly the R-Type series, and specifically R-Type Leo. I grabbed the ROM's, loaded them into aFBA and hit Play but get nothing but a blank screen.
I figured I probably have the wrong romset but I can find little info about alternatives. I've tried R-Type, R-Type 2 and R-Type Leo, all different hardware, several different ROM's and get the same result for all - the various files within the zip appear to load, but then I'm left with a blank screen.
As far as I can see, FBA has all three games as compatible, not sure from which version but by 0.2.97.35 which is where the Android port is at, it sure seems to be.
Does anyone understand what might be happening here? I'm playing these on a Wikipad which has been pretty good for the CPS stuff. If it can handle CPS-3, I see no reason why Irem's 'M' hardware would cause it to struggle.
I'm not looking for working ROM's or anything, I just want to understand what might be happening so that I can learn and move on.
Thanks, Hayden
