I ordered a HTC Inspire smartphone from amazon's seller abe-123. The package received is a total disaster:-
1. The SD card was missing,
2. on the box the details about the accessories that will come along with the phone were mentioned which were tampered by the seller.
3. box was in old and used condition,
4. ordered unlocked phone but received a locked one.
I do not trust this seller and will not recommend abe-123 store to anyone.

I feel for you man and appreciative of the heads up but this review should really get posted to amazon on the seller's review page so others can see it who may buy from him on ebay that might not use XDA. There is also a good, correction a 100%, chance this thread will be closed. But again, on behalf of prospective buyers thank you. And let this be a lesson all prospective buyers to be very careful with who you deal with online, it's easy to make yourself look creditable on the internet. Good luck man, hope you find some remedy to this unfortunate situation!

I always thought amazon was a trustable webstore to buy things. I never actually bought anything there so I wouldn't know. U should post or report this purchase.

You have to be careful because you may be purchasing from a 3rd party.
Sent using the power of the dark side.
When buying from amazon third party seller, always look at their rating. Always go for the one that is the closest to 100%, and most reviews and been open longer. Also, be sure to look for a review of an item purchesed that is similar to the one you will get.

Thanks for the heads up. When I order from Amazon, I treat it just like eBay. I read feedback and look at user ratings. I read all of the comments, while it's impossible to please everyone, if I see more than 5 people say the same thing or even though a person gave a positive for fast shipment, they could still say in there that the product wasn't as described.

hi all.
i'm looking for the real one, the original, the authentic one.
i already tried on ebay but they all are, at best, just close to the original quality...
i contacted htc europe and htc america but both said they don't know anything about the pouch
i finally read google forums but we all know that it is not so easy to get a google answer...
sorry but... who built it?
sources and links are appreciated,
thanks...

well, lucky man.
i wrote the htc support via their website form but... nothing to do.
these are two of their answers:
I will be more than happy to assist you with this issue. What I can suggest for you to do is Contact our Accessories Line at 1-888-716-3594 as well as going to the website shopamerica.htc.com and also htcdepot.com to furhter your search on the right case as these are both great accessories sites. I hope this information proves helpful and resolves your inquiry regarding finding a case on your phone. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions.

Thank you for your prompt response. Unfortunately, HTC does not manufacture any accessories for our devices. They are all made by third party companies. Therefore, we have no way of knowing exactly which neoprene case you are referring to or who makes it. You would need to know the manufacturer of that case and check their site to see if it is still in production. However, here are some additional sites that you can check. Your best option might be the Amazon link as they have the largest number of resellers linked to their site. Shop America - http://www.shopamerica.htc.com/homebrands/index.htm Amazon.com - http://www.amazon.com/cell-phones-s...b/181-6435952-2642542?ie=UTF8&node=2335752011 Expansys - http://www.expansys-usa.com/ HTC Depot - http://www.htcdepot.com/ DayDeal - http://www.daydeal.com/home.php?cat=5452 NOTE : We do not recommend purchasing accessories from online auction sites, or little known resellers outside of the US and Canada. We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause you, and we hope that you are able to locate the case you need from one of these sites. As always, we are here to answer any technical questions or concerns you may have between 6am to 1am EDST, 7 days a week for your convenience, or by phone at 1-866-449-8358.

well, i would also be willing to pay for it...
I called HTC in the first week of January 2011 and managed to get a new battery cover and battery just as my warranty expired. But they claimed they were totally out of pouches and redirected me to the accessories phone line and web site. The original pouch is not on that site. My pouch is getting seriously shredded up... so sad.
People actually use those?
I think I put my phone in it on day 1, put the pouch back in the box and never looked at it again.
I just tried the 1 888 216 4736 line (which BTW has been taken down from HTC's site) and went to the warranty department. I explained that I was looking for this specific accessory which did not seem to be on sale anywhere, and which came in the box with my now out-of-warranty phone.
She put me on hold for a little while, and eventually did say that the pouch was available to be sent out as a replacement. I was willing to pay for it due to my warranty being over, but she said that didn't seem to come up on any of the screens she saw. So now I have an order number and a replacement is supposed to arrive. I'll let you know if it ever shows up!
I wonder if it's stretchy enough that it'd fit over an HTC Sensation with some coaxing.

Lol yeah I can see why... its a bit geeky to say the least and can be a bit annoying to use.
On the other hand I DO use my everyday since I got the phone (only got my N1 this January though (a bit outdated then I know)) and its brilliant! Keeps the phone really well protected from drops and scratching! Honestly if you still have yours and don't use another case anyway I would highly recommend using it!
I use mine more now than I ever have. I've had two otterbox cases break on me and I don't feel like dishing out the money to buy a new one, so I've just been using the pouch that came with the phone.
Here's one I found on eBay...
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Original-Ne...ccessories&hash=item3363efd4b5#ht_2248wt_1163
Mine has never been out of the box, but I might be tempted to sell it if they're going for $100!
My replacement arrived from HTC! The part number on the packing slip is 70H00221-00M, for what it's worth.

A little Craigslist tip, send your seller multiple extremely low offers from separate email accounts, lower his confidence a little before going in for the real but still below value offer.

Lol nice im trying that next time
this Thunderbolt has been Infected with a Virus for all Eternity
I usually sell mine on Ebay and buy them on craigslist or Ebay.
Swappa.com is another. It's where I bought my Thunderbolt.
You can also sell your used/broken phone at Buy Back Pros other than Amazon or eBay. I can say this because I also sold my broken phone at Buy Back Pros where I got a very good price there even all beyond my expectations. They provide me free pickup and also the 30 days money guarantee
In the last month I purchased three items on ebay that were scams, two Android sticks and a quad core phone. ebay sent me alerts on the two sticks after I had paid but I got the money back quickly. Still waiting for ebay to refund for the phone.
Two of the auctions gave me tracking numbers and packages were shipped. The phone package contained two fake Pandora beads and the Android stick package contained two small black beads ... sense a theme here?
Here's what I figured out:
1) If a seller has been selling paintings, clothes, or whatever and they switch to high tech items suddenly, run away. Either the account was hacked or they used the other sales to build positive feedback.
2) If the price seams too low, by a LOT, run away. $200 for a $320 phone ain't happening.
3) Tracking numbers don't mean squat, I got beads!
4) If you don't see any feedback for items like yours, run away.
5) If they have a lot of "Private" auction items, run away.
6) Just because they answer your questions about the items it doesn't mean squat. My phone seller was very helpful and responded quickly to every question. He's the guy that sent the Pandora beads.
I buy/sell a LOT on ebay, thousands of dollars per year. This last month has been an eye-opener, I've never had three sellers from China try to rip me off. Actually these are the first Chinese sellers that have done it to me. Everything else has been great with them. They usually ship faster than US sellers, maybe it was an end of the year blip, we'll see.
Amazon is similar, but I feel it is better and more safe.

Wow, that's some bad luck. 3 at a time too. But yeah, these tips would apply to just about buying anything off ebay. You must do all your research about the seller and product before buying anything and if anything feels off, I would rather not risk it.

Well what can I say, a complete farce from start to finish.
From pre ordering to the numerous phone calls and emails to cancel my order and then to try and return my phone for a full refund.
In the end I had to get the police, Santander bank and trading standards involved to get my money back.
I had to wait 3 weeks for my order to ship to me in which time they wouldn't cancel my order even though the phone wasn't built or shipped.
They then said they would send out a pre paid label for me to return the phone, 6 times I had to request this and they never sent the labels while the 14 day returns time scale ran out due to this! I rang DHL and they told me no request was ever made for a returns label!
This left me with no option but to contact the police ,my bank and trading standards, all of whom were brilliant and helped me out :good:, my bank did a charge bank and refunded me my money back. All emails that I sent and received was shown to the above and once Motorola found out I had contacted the above they refused to respond to me anymore
I now have a brand new and sealed moto x style sat on my shelf , I have my money back and I have done all I can to return the phone, I don't know what to do with the phone now?
This was my 1st experience with Motorola, I have read similar experiences , and no doubt that there are lots of happy customers. How can they treat customers like this.
Motorolas loss was Nexus 6p gain
Interesting, I got my return label in about an hour because I requested it online. No phone call was needed. I didn't send my phone back but I could. From what I have read that is the way to do this, go online, submit a return within a few hours you will have an email with the label, end of the issue. I think you will eventually have to send it back or more legal issues may occur.
Seems to me that the phone support is poor so just don't go through them
I wasn't aware you could request online, but I had numerous emails and phone calls asking for a returns label that should have been noted.
Yes i have the kept the phone in safe keeping until they ask for it back!
Did you check your junk mail folder? After 6 requests I feel like they would have sent at least one label.

doesn't matter at this point. Within the 14 days you can use the device as a daily driver so to them it doesn't matter. If I were you I would play with it. Just don't break it lol
Man, I feel for ya. I hate seeing stories like this. A horrible customer service experience can completely ruin what would otherwise be a nice device experience. Glad you got your money back in any case.
Have you considered giving the device another shot since you now have it? You'd have to send the money back again, but you wouldn't have to wait on shipping.
What made you not want the phone in the first place? Delays in shipping?

If it were me, I'd leave it sealed for 90 days at least. If at that point there is no dispute to the charge back from the bank, no contact from Motorola, etc, you should be safe to say you have a free phone. Keep in mind, just because you got your money back doesn't mean Motorola isn't disputing it on their end. And the bank could at any moment take that money back. If it comes to that, you could need to provide a sealed box device. If you can't, you could be out of luck.
Right now you have a free phone. If you sit on it for a few months, and nothing more comes of it, you still have a free phone.

You know, reading this post just made me decide to go ahead and unlock my device (that I've had for a week) for rooting/moding. I was on the fence because if I unlocked it I would have lost my warranty. But knowing I will never have to deal with Moto Customer Service is a good thing. I won't wanna lose my phone for weeks if something goes wrong anyway, so I'll be better with my local repair shop.
My previous phone, Galaxy S4, developed the dreaded swollen battery. And they wanted me to send it back for a replacement, instead of just sending me a battery. So that makes me not want to deal with customer service at all.
Sorry to hear about your experience. though.

Motorola contracts FedEx for the return. Not DHL. You went the wrong route.
Also, make sure your Motorola account has the correct email address. I used Google Plus login when I created the Motorola account and it showed some weird email address when I check my Motorola profile. I had to go in there and updated to the correct email address.
You will want to send the phone back. Contact any FedEx retail location, give them your address and they may have your label on file. If you decide to keep the phone, Motorola might bill you for it. If you don't pay, they will send you to collection. Good luck.

Between 3 and Expansys, Amazon are by far the best option for me, but they only cover the device for one year and then you’d have to go to honour or others?

I think 1 year is good enough already... usually after 1 year, manufacturer will stop/slow down upgrade, at that time, you have to rely on developers from XDA or places alike.

i have to agree here, most places will only offer a year anyway as after this they normally have slowed down production and are at that point concentrating on another product.
if its that much of a problem about aftercare i would personally find good insurance for your phone after the year is up @OP
i have insurance on all my electronics so i never pay a thing for breakdowns etc.
