The source seems to have a no-wipe version and a full wipe version, both of which it claims are prerooted (and neither of which should support ext4). Without even flashing it I can see Superuser.apk and busybox inside there.

Thanks for posting this, I'm Paul627g, Adviser from AndroidCentral.com and this is my thread in which this was taken from. Please do us at AndroidCentral and favor and at least grab a membership over there to download the files. Both are prerooted stock EC05 with CWM 2.5.1.0 RFS/Odex . One is a full system wipe and the other is a no wipe that retains your data.
As I said please do us the same favor and grab a membership to download it as we do the same for our Epic 4g members and link them to XDA's thread making the user come here to get membership and not direct download links.
Thanks. Remember were all one big Epic Community no matter what forum we call home.

BTW, trust me if I had a working copy of stock deodexed EC05 we would have that there with EXT4 but nobody has yet to come up with a deodexed version.
Besides having a few issues deodexing the ROM myself, I don't have the knowledge to make a dual FS kernel like we had from Dameon87 when he deodexed EB13 for us and provided a dual FS RFS/EXT4 stock kernel...
Hint: Hint:.. Anyone who can provide a working stock deodexed EC05 w/a dual FS EC05 stock kernel we can work something out and create some more custom Odin packages

Thanks man.. I base out of Android Central as an Adviser for the Epic 4g section but I do visit here quite often. I respect everyone's hard work and just expect the same in return that's all.. Without everyone working together and sharing information from time to time we wouldn't have all the great things we have for our Epic 4g's.
One of my fellow Advisers actually created the Odin packages after I did the system dumps and hes the one that really deserves the credit, he has also done many many custom Odin packages for the Samsung Fascinate.

My name's k0nane and I support this message. AndroidCentral is ACS's new second home for user support and release announcement, and Paul627g here has been very helpful in supporting our users there (Impaler-like, you might say ).
There's just one problem - linking to competing forums and sites that require registration is against XDA rules and would get this double-locked if it were possible. I wish I could agree with Paul's wish that you link to AC - but I can agree with his notion that he and anyone else who contributed should be fully credited.
EDIT: I'm going to mirror this Odin package and pass a direct link on to Paul. I'll leave it up to him if OP here should get it too. And Paul - I've had plans to post a stock deodexed ROM, and I'll look at doing that tonight. I've got everything I need to do it, I just haven't had much time.
Can someone re-md5 the file and name it correctly? I just like to have it for my records and use it at my Sprint store to fix Epics.
Thx!

I deodexed it using the oneclick thing on here and made an update.zip and I converted to ext4 using cwm3 but I didn't use the stock kernel of course, but dameon made a stock eb13 for dual fs, and someone else posted a diff for eb13 vs ec05 so a stock ec05 dual fs shouldn't be hrd to come by...

This phone isn't my daily driver, so I only tested a few things, and only slightly:
Known Bugs:
Screen of Death: This is a CM10 bug, many other devices are afflicted, not just the blaze. Many people are working hard to fix this.
UI action sounds may not work at first. Adjust the volume with the volume buttons, the sounds will then work fine. This is a known CM10 bug
BLN is wonky. Working on getting us merged with the stable version native to CM10.
Fixed 20121103+ : WiFi generates a random MAC address with each boot.
Camera: Flash can't be disabled
Camera: Storage location cannot be changed. This isn't really a bug, however if the interest is great enough, I might try and figure out a way to change the system default storage location.
Other things maybe? Discuss in the thread...
How to get it:
Download: http://get.cm/?device=t769 (ChangeLog)
Or download it directly through ROM Manager or CM Updater.
Google Apps:
Make sure to download and install the JellyBean GApps
http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO DO A FACTORY/DATA RESET BEFORE USING THIS. This isn't up for debate. A reset of the dalvik cache helps too. If you do a dirty flash, please make sure to do a dalvik cache wipe. If you have searched this forum for a problem and haven't found it, please do a nandroid backup, then a full factory/data reset and check to see if you still have the problem. If it still persists AFTER the factory/data reset, then report it here.
Thank You!

For older/legacy/test/unofficial versions of my work, you can find them (for a while at least) here: My Funhouse. Please take care and all necessary steps to verify MD5 sums before installing any zips.

The buttons is a fairly big issue... Figuring out how to get back home is troublesome to say the least. Plus, my zip doesn't have the right drivers baked in... I may re-package and include a link to a zip to enable the soft keys (like on a galaxy nexus), just to get some navigation....
I can't really test calls since this isn't my regular phone. I know the external speaker works because I get sound effects... lemme see about re-packaging. Maybe I'll upload something more tonight.
Otherwise, the front and rear cams work, the rotation is proper.. there are things in the log cat about the compass not working, I'll figure that out soon enough...

No... I'm fairly sure I borked the driver.
Part of the thing I did was to actually forward port the T769 (and I577, need to let those guys know...) changes from the Samsung source releases into the CM kernel proper.

I can tell you that the link I posted was/should be safe. I'm sorry Norton doesn't think so, but a number of others have downloaded and installed the ROM. The md5sum for the zip file is posted on the first page of this thread. If you're concerned, simply download the zip and then verify the md5sum. As long as they match, you should be safe.
Guys I am sorry but didn't mean to offend anyone.
---------- Post added at 03:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:51 PM ----------
Not concerned though but how do I verify the md5sum?

search for "WinMD5", it's a windows based md5 summer. You can put in the file and your expected md5 value, it will tell you the actual value as well as if they match.
It's generally good idea to verify md5 sums just to make sure you don't get bad flashes, especially with Radio's.
Turn off security then download, this ROM working for me, all except touch button
cm10 *****ES
Folks, I uploaded a temporary fix for the nav keys on the first post.
This is to be flashed from CWM ON TOP of an existing CM10 install. It overwrites the kernel, modules, and replaces the build.prop to remove the soft navbar.
This is temporary because I basically used the Samsung released drivers for the hard keys. I need to figure out what the hell I need to do to port into the cm10 version of the driver.
As a consequence of being the stock driver, there's no BLN or other niceties. Just the typical stock behavior. I don't know how this will play with the CM specific key backlight settings.
Enjoy!
If u call that temporary, then dats damn good bro..

You could probably do it if you just pull the kernel and kernel modules... you might be able to get something going that way... you'd have to watch a logcat to figure out which other libraries you'd have to copy in.

This is the *unofficial* JellyBean leak #2s for the Skyrocket (specifically ATT SGH-I727). I had to stitch this together from a loaded device. I believe it is as close to unadultered version (99.99%), it appears it works with existing bootloaders for our device.
NOTE: The kernel and radio are included in the zip. There are separate threads in the forum that should give you the radio and kernel (insecure) see optional stuff section for links.

I have only flashed this in CWM 6 recovery by sk8 (specifically 6.015 v14). It is critical that whatever recovery you use support format command and do what it is supposed to do, otherwise you will have a soft brick. And no, I am NOT going to answer any questions for recovery errors nor I have the time to try out all the recoveries.
1) Download the zip (choose either odexed or deodexed, see comments in the downloads section) and transfer it to your device.
2) (optional) download any optional stuff (like busybox su pack), insecure kernel and transfer it to your device.
3) Do a Nandroid backup.
4) Did you do Step 3) ? Do it NOW
5) Format /system
6) Format /data
7) Wipe Data and Cache partition. (you can skip 6, if you have this option in your recovery).
8) Flash the ROM zip, first.
9) (Optional) flash any optional stuff if you wish. (like su pack and insecure kernel)
10) boot the device and WAIT BE PATIENT.
11) Flashing will be successful: You will see the Samsung JB bootanimation, then you will see SAMSUNG logo (glow animation), at this point your touchkey lights should be on (dalvik cache being built). If the touchkey lights are not lit up, you are soft bricked, go back to recovery, wipe data and cache and reboot.

Good question ... the answer is yes, you can flash your old recovery back to the device with the newer recovery from this thread. Then from there, you can go to your nandroid from your previous ROM.
I'm not sure I'd try to use this recovery to restore a previous CWM backup. Honestly, I haven't tested that to see what would happen.
So for now, here's what I would recommend you do if you want to have a known good backup to revert to ...
1. Take a backup with your current recovery.
2. Flash the new recovery from the OP
3. Reboot to new recovery
4. Flash Alpha1
5. Profit ...
To revert back:
6. Flash your old recovery
7. Reboot to old recovery
8. Format /data, /system and /cache
9. Restore your backup
That should get you back to where you were. It isn't ideal, we know. But right now we wanted to get this build out to you guys - it's been long enough.
For what it's worth, I've been running this as my daily driver for almost three weeks now. The only major issue I've had, and it's really not a big deal, is that Focal doesn't work.
Quick question @car vs driver . . . in the settings I tapped Selinux status and it changed from Permissive to Enforcing. . may I ask what that is for ?

It's been only a few minutes but so far so good! I have successfully let google restore my apps and have even tried the Camera app which is working pretty good with the only thing not working is 1080p videos. I have not tried making a call or the new focal app, but great job! I flashed the newer Gapps 8/13 even though I saw the post for the 7/29 just so I could try them and see if it works and so far so good. Thanks so much!
Thanks for the quick response CvD. That process is much more ideal than not being able to flash the older recovery and starting fresh again
Next question, and I hope this will be the first and last time it will need to be discussed here but, should we use this recovery to flash any other 4.3 variant of CM? I hate to ask about other roms in this thread, even if it is somewhat indirectly, but I figured that it will eventually need to be answered at some point, and want to make sure that the source of the recovery is the one to give the answer. Hopefully, being discussed so early in this thread, it will be seen by everyone and won't need to be asked again. (wishful thinking)

I'd say yes, with one caveat ... it should only be used to flash 4.3 ROM's that have the SELinux code in the kernel. That's where the major difference is. Worst case really would be a reboot of doom from what I've seen so far.

By the way ... I just want to make sure this gets on the first page as well.
Special thanks to @stoopendis on this one. He bravely tested whatever we threw at him with reckless abandon (even when we were risking bricks). He's our official Team Chopsticks flash-anything-we-ask tester and has been a huge help to us over the past several weeks. Please take a moment to bang the thanks button when you see him.

Nvm i found a site more on topic of what is asked. thanks though.
Awesome news! Glad we are now on the road to 4.3!
Much thanks!
Edit:
Just flashed Recovery, wiped appropriate partitions and started ROM install and it aborted. Just said download was bad. I reverted and I am downloading again.
Too excited not to try again...

IMPORTANT: Leave SELinux status in Permissive mode. If you change it to Enforcing, you will get weird crashes. We still have a lot of work to do to get SELinux 100%.

Installed!!!
Been runnin for about 10 minutes. Setting up appz. Been texting with Hangout. Working great. No issues so far! Will probably be runnin' that for the entire weekend! \m/
Thanks again!
And it begins. Nice job guys. I just received my Nexus 5 so the Rocket is in backup mode for now. I'd be happy to help get this thing up and running by providing some logs. I won't have data anymore but everything else I can troubleshoot. I quick thought. Since ADB now requires a pass key it's hard to get logs from boot on a fresh install. I remember being able to change adb.persist in another phone to let ADB pull logs from boot by bypasssing the authentication key. Is that still possible? This was over a year ago.
I can confirm that long press of the home button doesn't bring up your recent apps list. Presently it only brings up GoogleHome's settings and etc. And I see it wants to think we have the on screen keys enabled. Probably why what I said above is occurring. But besides that short coming. Pretty solid. Hardware keys stopped working after first flash. Rebooted and all was well.
Can't wait to try it. Got a taste of it in my sons Google tab. Runs like a champ. You guys rule.
Sent from my skyrocket running something better than yours! BOOM!
I know top had it booting, but I did not expect this already. Nice!
great news. Thank you very much.
