Going back to S-ON... still **LOCKED**? - HTC Sensation

Hey there guys, I'm restoring my phone to factory settings for warranty purposes
and I followed Viper's thread to a T and everything came out perfect!
The only thing I am concerned about is that it still says
*** LOCKED ***
on top. Did it ship with this? I cannot remember
I have a TMOUS sensation
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.18.000
eMMC-boot
I also noticed it doesn't show radio...
Thanks guys!

Thats' right. You're good!

Thanks man, appreciated.
Wasn't sure if thats what it shipped with and every video I watched didn't have LOCKED at the top!

Have you also had supercid? What's with it after making phone s-on? Does it restore too?

No you have to change the cid manually yourself.

I already did a search and didn't find anything useful...
So I recently bought this phone off of someone online and they said they would root it for me and install CWM so that all I would have to do is install a ROM through cwm. But I want to install a new radio now and I'm not sure if he did eng s-off for radio s-off for me, so I was looking through some threads and noticed that you can tell by the text in the bootloader. mine says:

What does this mean?

first of all you don't need eng s-off to flash a radio read this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002226 to flash a radio without eng s-off
also mine said the same as yours & i had to fix it by using option 1 in this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1019868
hope this helps
Thank you! But what exactly does it mean? Supposedly there's an issue?
And should I return back to stock because I'm currently running CM7....and about to flash CoreDroid.

can you do me a favor & post a screen shot of your bootloader screen or just post everything you see on there so i can see why i was getting black screen & your not
Not sure how to take a screen shot of that menu so here is everything it says:

ps - if you can flash radios with just s-off, what's the point of having eng s-off then? seems like its pretty dangerous from that link you posted earlier.
please pardon me for being uninformed, coming from a samsung captivate and just got the inspire today. trying to learn!
There is no point in having eng s-off unless you are an experienced dev.

So did you succeed in installing a new Radio without ENG S-OFF?
Which method did you use?

Sorry, I didn't notice that the topic was from last year... :/

[Q] Stuck in Hboot, S-ON, no Rom, no Recovery

Ok, I did something really stupid although I knew that it might have consequences. I s-offed via Revolutionary and flashed a new rom. Then I noticed that my phone, that I just got back today from repair, wasn't able to pull down the status bar.
After installing a Test App, I realized that the new phone had a failure and needs to get back to repair...and then the failure happend.
My phone is branded t-mobile and I tried the "how to s-off version from here ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1187231 ), although it noticed that it is for non-branded phones. Just wanted to get back to something "normal"
Well, after using the RUU for TMO_DE (I'm from germany) there was a error message that it wasn't the right RUU version, and got me back to hboot.
And here is my problem: Now my hboot is s-on (0.98.0000) and everything is deleted (recovery, rom) and I have no idea what to do....did I brick my desire s now? is there any chance to put it back to life, aside from hboot?
Thanks a lot in advance, and sorry for my english...
English fine.
First question? What exactly does HBOOT screen say? are you S-OFF still?
If you can put device into HBOOT then you can put it into FASTBOOT
So Connect PC via USB and run a RUU that you want on phone
Thx,
no, that is the problem, i am s-on now, it exactly:

RUU isn't working...it starts fine, but always quits with error 131 (user Id error) and says i should get the right RUU
Any other ideas?

Which RUU did you try.....full name?
you could try this one (or is that the one you just did try?)
RUU_Saga_TMO_DE_1.30.111.1_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_3 8.03.02.11_M_release
I tried:
RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.1_Radio_20.28b.30.080 5U_38.03.02.11_M_release
RUU_Saga_TMO_DE_1.30.111.1_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_3 8.03.02.11_M_release
and
RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.47.401.4_Radio_20.28I.30.085 AU_3805.06.02.03_M_release_199410_signed
The only difference using the TMO RUU is, that the error is 140, not 131...but the error message is the same.
I had the same problem with s-on and everything else deleted. Send phone to warranty service and when phone came back, they said they had to replace phone's mothearboard. It's impossible to do something else to make it work

That sounds like a good idea, as it's now s-on they'll have no evidence that you did anything wrong, unless of course you admit it

Ok thanks, I already guessed that this might be the last solution.
I'll report back if they made it under "warranty" (and if not, what the price was I had to pay )
Ok I was at the t-mobile shop, and they said it will be replaced under warranty, I should come back tomorrow to get my new desire s. (I'm not sure if it really will be there tomorrow, but at least in a few days)

Ok, I got my new Desire S today, replaced under warranty, everything fine now I guess I won't do any strange experiments now, but I guess I can't keep my fingers from rooting it and replacing the stock rom with custom.
Anyways, thanks a lot guys

I'm just a little perplexed by the *** LOCKED *** bit at the top and wondered if anyone could shed some light on it for me?
Can i just flash the clockworkmod PG58IMG.zip and then flash a custom rom without using the revolutionary.exe?
The locked bit at the top is the official HTC locking/unlocking message. If you go through the HTC website to unlock the boot loader it'll then say 'unlocked'
The S-OFF means 1 of two things:
1. You have a device S-OFF from the factory, or;
2. Someone returned it after unrooting and didn't S-ON the device again

So i guess i'm good to install cwm and flash away?
edit: all sorted now
I have same issue as OP, but my H-BOOT's 1.27.0000
I can't flash **** through Fast boot, says not allowed -_-
I managed to get S-OFF via Rev, worked flawlessly gained root and did the downloading CWM, flashed Virtuous Inquisition and successfully got the on screen buttons working via decompiling-editing recompiling the framework-res.apk.
But I am utterly clueless as to why today, I find the ***Revolutionary*** has been replaced with ***Locked***
Anything I gotta do? Or just leave it?

It just means that your bootloader is the locked variety so you can't do some extended fastboot commands such as 'fastboot flash splash1 nameofimg.img' to replace the splash screen and a few other less common commands. I wouldn't worry about it. If you want to replace the splash image, check here.
Look in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
You'll find an unlocked version of 1.27.1100 (3.24 Unlocked). It was unlocked by one of the Revolutionary team as far as I know.

Whatever I see from ur information I suggest you to get ur bootloader unlocked by HTC devs. Reason is u got second hand mobile so anyway you don't have warranty. Other thing check is it super cid If not get it done then start flashing. You will have less problem and if you stuck will get quick resolution.

Stuck in bootloop after relock

Hey guys, just have a quick question here.
I've been running CM10 on my unlocked One X for awhile now so i decided i would restore my phone to its original rom so i could see what the new updates would be like. So i restored my old stock rom and relocked my bootloader. Now i have the relocked tag as expected but i also have **security warning** and I cannot do anything from there, it's stuck in a bootloop. Just curious as to what went wrong? This isn't the first time I've relocked my phone and I've never had any problems in the past. Any info would be great. Thanks

*SOLVED*
I have absolutely NO idea how, but I just tried rebooting it again after some time and it now is working. No clue really, but I;m quite relieved.
If your phone powers on, it's recoverable. It's when it doesn't seem to turn on at all that you should worry.

Once you have a custom recovery installed you can, yes. It will be super easy.
Getting S-Off is the hard part. Since you already have it, it's an easy road for you.

It is possible, but there are also phones that were shipped as S-Off. You can know if your phone was used befor by removing the back cover, after some use it tends to collect some dust. Replacing the back cover itself is easy and it makes the phone look new. However, if your phone functions properly, there is absolutely no problem.
