I already did a search and didn't find anything useful...
So I recently bought this phone off of someone online and they said they would root it for me and install CWM so that all I would have to do is install a ROM through cwm. But I want to install a new radio now and I'm not sure if he did eng s-off for radio s-off for me, so I was looking through some threads and noticed that you can tell by the text in the bootloader. mine says:
ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
What does this mean?

first of all you don't need eng s-off to flash a radio read this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002226 to flash a radio without eng s-off
also mine said the same as yours & i had to fix it by using option 1 in this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1019868
hope this helps
Thank you! But what exactly does it mean? Supposedly there's an issue?
And should I return back to stock because I'm currently running CM7....and about to flash CoreDroid.

thats weird when mine said ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF RL i couldn't get into recovery without the screen fading to black thats why i had to use the fix that i posted for you
can you do me a favor & post a screen shot of your bootloader screen or just post everything you see on there so i can see why i was getting black screen & your not
Not sure how to take a screen shot of that menu so here is everything it says:

ps - if you can flash radios with just s-off, what's the point of having eng s-off then? seems like its pretty dangerous from that link you posted earlier.
please pardon me for being uninformed, coming from a samsung captivate and just got the inspire today. trying to learn!
There is no point in having eng s-off unless you are an experienced dev.

So did you succeed in installing a new Radio without ENG S-OFF?
Which method did you use?

What it says there is correct.

I just bought a Inspire 4g that only goes into the hboot and I want to restore it back to factory to root and use. Or straight root from there if possible.
Any suggestions appreciated.

You are S-ON so you won't be able to flash a PD98IMG.zip file. To put your phone back to work you can use this here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396229
Or you can go to www.htc.com and in the support site you can download the original Gingrebread update and run the .exe file.
Follow the instructions in the htc site and you will be using your cell within 20 - 25 minutes.
Actually you can flash a pd98img, THOUGH not any one will work as it has to be officially signed by HTC since its son.

Hey there guys, I'm restoring my phone to factory settings for warranty purposes

Have you also had supercid? What's with it after making phone s-on? Does it restore too?
No you have to change the cid manually yourself.

Download an AT&T HTC One X RUU, run it with your phone in bootloader/fastboot mode, with it plugged in to your PC. If your touchscreen/hardware keys are still acting up, its a hardware issue which would mean the screen needs replacing.
Good Luck.

Downgrading touch panel firmware is only for AOSP roms as they cannot make use of the new firmware that was released and as a result, nothing on the digitizer works.
Sense roms are not affected by this. Just run an ruu and see if the capacitive/touchscreen work. If not, it's a hardware issue. If your capacitive buttons/touchscreen do work after RUU, then we can troubleshoot from there.

at least i have now official 4.1 jb and looks great
another thing is that with this upgrade i have the old kernel,
3.4.10-g310e8f1

SMP PREEMPT
im trying to find maybe the stock kernel, or another kernel stable for my device but cant find one good, where can find ??
It's a hardware issue.
There are a few kernels in android development section. They're all good.

RUU stock done, works good, but the problem still, the other rare thing is there i see the same kernel, the RUU do not changed the kernel im saving a hope maybe changing kernel will fix this....

It seems that your phone was shipped as S-OFF. It's quite rare, but it does happen. Just flash recovery and treat your phone as S-Off.

Once you have a custom recovery installed you can, yes. It will be super easy.
Getting S-Off is the hard part. Since you already have it, it's an easy road for you.

It is possible, but there are also phones that were shipped as S-Off. You can know if your phone was used befor by removing the back cover, after some use it tends to collect some dust. Replacing the back cover itself is easy and it makes the phone look new. However, if your phone functions properly, there is absolutely no problem.
Enjoy your new Sensation
