[Q] Messed up bootloader on my trophy! - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have been spying here on xda a few months now since I got my trophy off ebay. There are custom roms here that I wanted to try so I followed guides to RSPL and HSPL. So I HSPL'd my trophy and installed ansars unbranded trophy rom with 1.09 this worked and got my bootloader replaced by 1.09 instead of HSPL.
Then I had problems with the marketplace giving me errors so I had to revert back to my original rom which was DE so I flashed it straight to the phone without HSPL. Now the rom installed fine, only my bootloader now says:
ÇÊÀ-|Eï SS-BC (4K)
SPL-1.9.2250.0(109882)
MicroP(LED) 0x09
TOUCH A19v10,20)
What I believe is that ÇÊÀ-|Eï should say PC40100.
Now I cannot install the stock rom or any other rom, or even hspl as it gives out vender/model id error. I have tried goldcard with the trophy but it gets stuck at "checking".
Can anyone help me?
Willing to donate to the person who can help me.

The only fix I know of for that state is to install a stock bootloader update. You might be able to find one in the CAB list thread on the dev&hacking sub-forum, or you may just need to wait. I've only seen it reported once before, but an official bootloader update fixed it (of course, you'll need to downgrade the bootloader again).

[Q] HTC Shipped Mango ROM ERROR. Help?

I was attempting to flash the new Shubert HTC Shipped Mango ROM on my HTC HD7 which was running the DFT FREEDOM 7720 ROM.
I ran RSPL. Started to flash the ROM. Then it stopped at 7% with an "Invalid Device ID" error.
Now my phone only powers into bootloader mode and not into the OS. Also, the SPL went from 3.1 to 4.5 so now I can't flash anything over it.
Can anyone tell me how to get my SPL back to 3.1? Or am I in trouble?
Thanks.
sorry but u r in trouble didnt u read the warning on the dft thread...
"WARNING TO ALL:
Do NOT use RSPL / HSPL with Mozart 4.XX and other RUU ROMS with MANGO.
All WP7F devices affected: MOZART, GOLD, SCHUBERT, MONDRIAN, SPARK!
It will damage your device. Not a joke"
now u must wait until a solution is found sorry.
You should still be able to flash a rom to your device. It must be a rom that was originally made for your device. Ex. Tmobile us rom to an American tmobile hd7.
Thanks for your reply.
Technically, I used RSPL when it was still on 3.1. When the error occured at 7%, my phone rebooted into bootloader mode with spl 4.5 and is stuck there. And I haven't used RSPL / HSPL since.
In the original thread I read a post that read,
"Beware that this will change your spl to 4.5, if you want to go back only flash a ROM that is specific to your device, like mine is TMOUS device id .531
Even I had unbranded it HSPL way, that doesn't mean I lost my device ID. So in order for me to use HSPL again, I need to flash the TMOUS .531 radio version"
These english translations are hard to decipher. Which is why I misunderstood the warnings to begin with. Any help is appreciated.

tiu

If I run RSPL to flash a stock TMOUS rom, it will ask for my SPL version number. But SPL 4.5 is not an option in the pull down menu. It only goes up to 3.4
Do you have any advice for which I should choose?
the point is your phone needs to be spl when flashing mango roms ,it can not be rspl/hspl... was your phone spl when u attempted to flash the mango rom ?

Thank you again for your help. One last question, if I try to flash a stock ROM should I go with my original SPL version 3.1?
Or should I try to go with 3.4 which is closer to 4.5?
[edit]Nevermind. You said no need for RSPL. Think I finally get that part.
[edit]It worked! Thanks again for your help. Gotta love the xda community.
It worked! Without RSPL, I've flashed a TMOUS pre NoDo stock ROM and my SPL version is back to 1.5
Thank you again for all of your help. It is much appreciated. Take care!
rspl/hspl is only needed to flash custom roms...the tmous stock rom will include original spl ... i think u r lucky the flash of the mango rom failed cuz if it didnt ur bootloader wouldve been inoperative..

[Q] HtcDev error 190???

Hi guys, sorry if this has been answered before but i have spent over an hour looking for an answer with no luck.
Im trying to unlock bootloader (using HTCDev method) on a UK ChaCha running on Android 2.3.5 software number 1.57.61.2.
I have the correct RUU (orange UK) from the HTCdev site but get error 190 when trying to flash it. it tells me it wants to update to 1.57.0.0 but to do that i have to upgrade to 1.57.61.1.
Can some one please point me in the right direction here as i have tried a fix where flashing PG76IMG is supposed to work but im not given the update option in bootloader.
This will (hopefully) be the 3rd HTC i will have flashed custom roms etc (had an HD2 and just done my Sensation) but somehow this ChaCha is beating me at the moment. HELP!!!
Just skip that step. I had latest version installed and htcdev official didn't have ruu for unlocking that version (I had 1.54.401.3 but they only had ruu for 1.54.401.2 and since I didn't want to downgrade I just moved to the next step and unlocked bootloader without an issue).

Not able to do HSPL on HTC 7 Pro - bootloaderproblem

Hello guys,
I'm having trouble with my HTC 7 Pro.
Principially, I want to fully unlock my phone.
To do so, I wanted to install the HSPL. When I did that, I recognized that my current SPL is too high, 5.12.2258.0.
So, I tried do downgrade the SPL, but when I enter the bootloader, it doesn't tell me "serial" or "usb" any more....
I also did a hardreset, but nothing changed.
But do I have to do? Please help!
Thanks a lot!
Your device is half-brick. You have to install new SPL in service with JTag. At home you can't do that.

I see, but how exactly did that happen?
Is there any backup-method, that I can use get my messages, contacts and call-logs on another htc 7 pro?
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1532103&highlight=brick
This looks nice, thank you very much, I will try that.
Can somebody help me with finding the right files for my purpose?
(German T-Mobile branded HTC 7 Pro that should get an HSPL do install fully unlocked and cooked ROMs)
Thank you guys!

i dont think you need a t-mobile ROM, all you need is just do to a gold card SPL bootloader downgrade to 1.22 and then flash any stock signed rom which you have here on the forum, just search for "htc 7 pro stock rom" after that you can do a rspl and then a hspl. after that a custom rom for htc 7 pro. i have the New Tech ROM from ansar which is Tango 8773. unlocked and very good. no problem with this rom. and the best is it stays unlocked even after a hard reset!
if you dont have cables for gold card method, try ansars htc SLSPL (Stock limited SPL) and after that stock rom for htc 7 pro - rspl - hspl - custom rom there is a tutorial for this here on the forum just search for ansar SLSPL htc or something like that.
i think the gold card method is the easiest, i've done it several times, even after i flashed an rom to SPL (without rspl - hspl) and bricked my device! only the gold card method helped me out there. no i have HSPL 1.22 an Tango 8773 and all working.
Thank you guys for the answers.
I managed to build my own Y-Cable. When I plug it into my running PC and my running 7 Pro, the battery is loading. So I think the cable itself should work.
I downloaded this rom "RUU_Gold_HTC_Europe_1.22.401.01_Radio_5.63.09.13_3 a_22.36.50.15U_by_ansar" to downgrade SPL. Then I applied the goldcardmethod as "Budniu" explained it in his video. One Problem in that context could be that I only found a 2GB SanDisk-MicroSD-Card.
Anyway, when I first entered the USB-Hostmode for the first three or four times, nothing happened. After unpluggin the card several times, the 7 Pro finally showed "Loading", then "checking" and in the end "not allow".
What do I do wrong? Is it the wrong ROM or do I have to have a 1GB SD-Card?
Please help me!
Kindest regards!

Need a couple of questions answered

Hi I recently fixed my HTC HD7 after a few months because my phone locked itself for no reason and my SPL was 5.1xx =.=, I just downgraded it using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597837. I used this rom to downgrade it "RUU_Schubert_hTC_Asia_SEA_WWE_1.54.728.01_Radio_5.51.09.29_22.32.50.10_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE"
After so many updates that i missed I am now lost on what to do to my phone to get the lastest tango update. Please don't reply telling me to use the seach button because i've tried and I am not really good with this flashing phone stuff.
Can someone be kind enough as to link me and tell me instructions onto getting my phone back to an updated version.
My phone specs:
-HTC HD7
-SPL 3.xx
-Not full unlocked
-Not interop unlocked
-Nodo
I think my next step is getting a custom rom from DFT http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647 but i can't seem to find the newest tango rom and what i should do to flash it on my phone.
Please help me !!:laugh::good:
The best place to get ROMs is from the phone-specific forums (in your case, the HD7 forums) here on XDA-Devs. You'll also need to install HSPA before you flash your custom ROM; the instructions to do that are on the WP7 Dev&Hacking sub-forum. Once you've got HSPL (make sure your bootloader version is right!!!) then you can install a custom ROM. The program to do this is called ROM Update Utility, commonly "RUU", and usually when you download a ROM it will come pre-packaged with RUU. If not, you can download something that doe come with RUU and replace the packaged ROM image files with the ones from your custom ROM.

[Q] RUU upgrade?

I have a desire s, s-on, hboot 2.00.0002, radio 3822.10.08.04_M. It was bought in UK.
I currently have the Vanilla ICE v2.0 rom installed, however there are some features that are really annoying me, and I would like to try the official HTC ics update.
I have been to htcdev and downloaded the ICS RUU (after selecting WWE as the region).
However, when I run it it bombs out, with error 155, and suggests I download the correct version.
From what I can see on here, I've been told that the WWE version should be correct version for UK, is this correct?
I did try downloading Endymion 3.5, and installing that onto my phone, however when I boot my phone, it keeps saying that the phone, messaging and pretty much everything has crashed! I tried running the RUU with that installed, and it got as far as trying to send the rom over, however it failed. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the exact error. It *may* have either been 155 or 175.
I have since read this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655832 about re-locking the bootloader, however I have not yet managed to restore my phone to stock.
I am currently downloading a rom from here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31345345&highlight=link#post31345345 in the hopes it will work.
Does anyone know if you HAVE to have either a stock rom, or an older rom, in order to run the ruu?
I tried re-locking the bootloader, and running the
RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.8_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_225161_signed
file I downloaded, however it got as far as updating the signature, and failed saying I need to get the right version.
Can someone PLEASE help.
How can I downgrade my phone to stock gingerbread, and why is the WWE ruu not working on my o2 (uk) branded phone?
