I have HTC Mozart with latest MANGO update from ZUNE!!
It is from Germany, T-MOBILE with all their apps and addons I don't need here in Bosnia!!! BTW, it SIM Unlocked!!!
How, if possible, to make it run with ORIGINAL HTC WP7.5 Mango!!!???
I searched for T-Mobile MANGO ROM but it nowhere to be found,
all I have available on NET is older ROMS from T-Mobile but I am afraid to BRICK my device if I try DOWNGRADING it from Mango to older BOOTS such as 1.28 or 1.30!
Any solution to this, I would appreciate your help!!!
The capital letters and explamation marks don't actually make it easier to help you, BTW.
If you're trying to de-brand the phone, why would you want a T-Mobile-branded ROM? You just want a stock HTC ROM. It has to be for the correct phone, but tht's about it.
If your bootloader (SPL) is already on version 5, you may have a problem replacing the ROM. If you're on 4.5 or lower, you should be able to flash any official ROM without damaging the device.

First of all I want to say I am glad that I found this forum and community. I think you really can help me out with my (futher) questions.
Since my Telekom branded HTC Mozart won't get the tethering update I am on the search to debrand my HTC Mozart.
I already read that it is essential to have the right SPL Version, now when I enter the bootloader mode I get following data:
PD67100
SPL-4.5.XXXX.X
Now I have a few Questions:
1. Do I need to check other data before starting to debrand the Phone?2. Will I get further Updates via ZUNE after I debranded my Phone?3. What are the main reasons to
a. leave it branded?
b. debrand the Phone?4. Are there some issues with apps form the Marketplace after the debrand?
And last but not least:
5. Where can I find a working debranded ROM?
I would really be thankful for any kind of hints and help

1) Well, you need to make sure that you're getting an unbranded (open market) ROM, and you need to make sure that your ROM matches your hardware. You also need to back up pictures/movies/music/whatever if you have any on the phone that aren't already on the PC.
2) Yes, official ROMs will continue to receive updates.
3) Leaving it branded lets you access carrier-specific features, like TMO's MyAccount app. It also is simply les hassle, and you don't have to lose all your data (which will hppen if you flash a ROM). Unbranding the phone means you remove all carrier customizations, and may receive updates earlier (because the carrier doesn't need to test and customize them).
4) No, not if it's an official ROM and the region is correct (i.e. if you can access apps now and you use the same primary WLID, you'll be able to access them again). However, you'll probably lose access to carrier-specific apps, as mentioned above.
5) Go look in the forum or wiki section specific to your phone. There should be a list of official ROMs. Alternatively, check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254384
I am wanting to interop unlock my hd7 running latest mango. i tried the htc unlock xap and the connection setup app (which tells to use interop unlock as country) but to no avail. has anyone been able to get interop unlocked on htc hd7 ?

Do you have it developer unlocked first?

if you updated your Phone with Second OEM Update, you can not Interop Unlock your phone

how do i find out if im running second oem? do you have the build number handy? the os version i have is 7.10.7720.68
It's not the OS build number, people. HTC controls the firmware number, not the OS number (that's Microsoft code). 7720.68 just means the RTM release of Mango. I swear, I write this so often...
If the third digit grouping of your firmware starts with 4 - that is, if your firmware version matches *.*.4XXXX.* - or lower, you can use the HTC Interop Unlock XAP. It *might* even be possible with *.*.50XXX.*, but I don't think so, and it certainly isn't possible with *.*.51XXX.* or newer.
well that helps a lot, ya my firmware shows 51004. so are there any workarounds as of yet?
The only work-around I know of is to downgrade. You can roll back a Zune restore point from before the firmware update(s) was installed, interop-unlock, and then reinstall the updates if you want (I've elected to semi-permanently keep my phone a few versions outdated on firmware). You could also flash a stock ROM that includes an older firmware. Be aware, however, that either option will lose some data - everything newer than the backup if you restore, everything on the phone if you flash a stock ROM.

Hey thanks for the information, I was wondering if there were any guides you can point me to on how to flash from a stock ROM. I have an HTC HD7.

Go to the HD7 ("Schubert") portion of the XDA-Devs wiki (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki). I'm pretty sure you can find the download links for stock ROMs there. You could also try the HD7-specific forum section. You'll download a tool called a RUU (ROM Update Utility) that will have some image files (extensions like .NBH and .NB) along with it. You put the phone in bootloader mode (four bars of different color - you have to boot the phone while holding the Volume Down button). It should have yellow text, and at the bottom should say "Serial". Connect the phone to USB. Your PC will need to install a driver (normally this will happen automatically, if not, use Device Manager to tell the computer to search Windows Update for the driver). Once the driver is installed, the "Serial" will be replaced by "USB". You can now run the RUU program.
I *strongly* recommend creating a backup first! The RUU will wipe all data on the phone, and if the flash fails for whatever reason, you'll be unable to boot the phone again.
Ok Thanks, That was helpful. i read a few guides and I think Im ready to try. i just wanted to ask a quick question before diving in. Hope you dont mind. Some threads make refrences to certain Bootloaders being unable to go through the downgrade process (by flashing a Stock Rom). Is this correct? My bootloader version is:
5.10.2250.0(132968)
If it doesnt matter than are there any other things that would prevent me from doing this process?
And one more question and I promise to leave you alone lol. I plan on backing up my phone before beginning, but if the flash fails for whatever reason and the phone is unable to boot again as you warned, will I still be able to connect it to Zune and restore my backup? Booting the phone while holding the Camera button will put it in backup/restore mode. If you connect the phone to the PC while it is in this mode, and the Zune software is running, it should automaticlaly try to restore.

If needed, there are a couple ways to downgrade the SPL; search the dev&hacking sub-forum for info. I would generally recommend GoldCard, but that will require a little bit of equipment. Apparently, "SLSPL" flashing will allow you to downgrade the SPL safely as well, though I haven't tried it. These are mostly for preparing to install a custom ROM, though - stock ROMs should be installable on any SPL version.

"What you want will not work for multiple reasons.
1. With cab-sender method you can only upgrade, not downgrade.
2. The OS cabs must have the same end version (you selected OS version 7.0.7008 and language pack 7.0.7403)
The only way to downgrade is by fladhing a complete old rom, but you will loose your apps and data. If you go that way, you may also choose to use rspl/hspl (hacked bootloader) and flash a custom rom that is already unlocked.

I have an HTC HD7S and I was wondering how or if it was possible to revert it back to nodo.
If you have a NoDo backup saved on your computer from when you updated to Mango, jsut restore that. Otherwise, you'll need to find a stock ROM for your model of phone and flash that. I know there are a lot of stock ROMs for the HD7, hopefully the same is also true of the HD7S (they aren't interchangable though!!).
Out of curiosity, what's the goal here? There might be an easier way to do this.

My goal here is to have the ability to flash the Deepshining rom and one of the steps in doing so is reverting to nodo. The whole reason im doing this though is because i originally wanted to put homebrew apps on my HD7S and when Chevron came out unsuccessful the alternative was flashing the Deepshining rom but it says I need to revert to nodo and even if I get that done I don't know if the HD7S can handle the rom because I havent seen any videos or threads detailing that it worked on one and didnt brick the phone.
You only need to downgrade the bootloader, not the full ROM. That will allow you to install HSPL, the unlocked bootloader for HTC devices. This in turn allows custom ROMs.
I'm sure there are custom ROMs for the HD7S, but they are definitely not interchangable with the custom ROMs for the HD7. You have to use the ROM specific to your hardware.
The NoDo ROM for the AT&T HD7S, if you still want it, is on the wiki (link at the top of the page, then go to the HD7, then Stock Roms).
Hello folks, sorry for the dumb questions but this is new for me. I have HTC One X (AT&T) phone, bought in USA. This is my first android phone and I barely know android as a software. I unlocked the phone buying an unlock code from ebay and I am using the phone on another carrier. My question is, how can i manually update my phone (what is the newest update?) since AT&T is not a carrier in my country and I cannot update automatically.
At the moment my software information are:
Android version 4.0.3
HTC Sense version 4.0
Software number 1.85.502.3 710RD
Kernel version 3.0.8-01155-gca24d1eroo[email protected] # SMP PREEMPT (why is there root in the kernel version, my phone has never been rooted?)
Build number 1.85.502.3_R2 CL63811 release-keys
Doing this manual update if possible will the phone be locked to AT&T again, or my phone will remain unlocked?

If you ever want to root or flash custom ROMs or other mods, I would advise not installing the latest (2.20) version AT&T firmware. Installing the official 2.20 firmware updates the bootloader, which plugs the holes by which kernels and radios can be flashed from recovery.
If you want root, I would root on 1.85, SuperCID, and unlock bootloader. Then you can install any firmware you want, including stock rooted versions that are more up to date than 2.20.
If you still want to install the 2.20 firmware, you can download the RUU (ROM updated utility) from HTC and run it on a PC, with the phone connected via USB. The phone should remain SIM unlocked after running the RUU. But RUU will wipe your data partition (but not the internal SD).

The SuperCID method you linked is correct.
ROM/firmware is very much a matter of taste, and what features you are looking for. If you want stock, you can install the stock rooted 2.20 AT&T firmware in the Development forum (after unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP). If you want something based on stock, but with cool added features and customizations, look at ViperXL, CleanROM, or Nocturnal LE. But that doesn't mean that any of the other ROMs are not also great. And that doesn't even mention the more "vanilla" (no HTC Sense) Android experience you can get from AOSP based ROMs, and their variants.
The differences and benefits of each are simply too extensive to discuss here. Just start looking at the ROMs and see what looks interesting to you.

My advice? Stop now. If, in fact, "This is my first android phone and I barely know android as a software," you're not ready to root.
You need to spend the next week (at least) reading and searching and reading some more. Don't come back until you can answer the following questions:
1. What does "rooting" mean, what exactly does it do to your phone?
2. What are you doing when you unlock the bootloader?
3. What's the difference between stock and custom recovery, and stock and custom ROMs?
Once you feel like you understand all this, you're ready to proceed. If you push forward now, you'll almost certain to get into trouble that you won't be able to get out of without extensive help.

actually it wasn`t me who said "This is my first android phone and I barely know android as a software"... it was another member.
I had an Motorola Atrix 4G which I rooted a coupe of times, but this one was made for my country market, differently than my HOX, that is at&t. But in one thing you`re right. I have not much experience with HOX. That`s true...
My question was regarding the part of the manual process which needs a communication between at&t and my cellphone. In this case I wouldn`t find any upgrade option to accept or deny. So i don`t know what would happen in this case... does anyone know?!?!

Whoops! Sorry about that.
As far as I know, the only way is to flash a custom rom with the base you want, or to run the RUU for that base, which will leave you relocked and unrooted.
