APP Version
Version 2.3
Howdy All, As my thread for the mod version was getting confusing with the 2 different things in it i have put TEAM Battery Bar into it's own thread.
So back around christmass I built my mod form here [MOD]Battery Bar into an app and put it on the market
it has the features of the MOD version but you don't have to mess around with modding your system files.
it uses a persistent service and overlays the battery bar on the top or bottom of the screen.
Android Police were Kind Enough to Feature it on there Blog
As Was 4Tablet PC (Russian)
More on Android HDBlog (Italian)
and others but i have been a bit slack in updating the list.
This is my Blog for news and what not...

I have the Battery Bar Pro, latest version from the Play market (v2.0).
I have the option checked to hide the battery bar when the statusbar is hidden (for full screen apps). I am fairly certain this worked a week or two ago when I first upgraded to the Pro version.
However this no longer works. No matter what I do with that option (checked or unchecked) the bar always shows when the statusbar hides.
Phone: Motorola Triumph
Android: 4.0.4 / CM9 alpha 0.6.11.0
Battery Bar Pro version: 2.0
Not sure if this helps or not, but I have the Height set to 2. If I rotate the phone in a fullscreen game, I noticed the bar height changes to 1! Sure enough, if I use 1 as my height then when the phone is rotated it hides the bar properly. It still won't hide in portrait mode though.
I do not have the free version installed.

thx for the confirmation on the dual install, i'll look into it.
pvy, any chance on ever adding multicolored battery bar? Like at 100%... it would show green, orange, and red colors at once instead of just green? It would make things more colorful and interesting also a bit of nostalgia for the old Windows Mobile 5 battery bar app. Sorry, I know I have asked this before but not sure if the idea got passed or forgotten or what Eitherway, great work guy!

Thx bro
Is there any difference in battery/cpu resources used between the mod and the app? On the one hand, I already have a crapload of apps and don't wanna add another unless I have to so I'd like to use the mod. On the other hand, I'm lazy when it comes to doing mods like this, so I'd prefer the app. Then again, having another service running sounds like it would consume (some) additional resources so again, I prefer the mod. On the final hand, I'm extremely unlucky when it comes to doing mods like this, so I prefer the app...
I have no idea what's going on...
:thumbup::beer:
Edit: nvm, looks like the app has more features. Free version worked as advertised, getting the paid version, nice work here! Keep it up!
Is there anyway you could maybe add a % left somewhere in the drag down ?

This is an entirely custom job I've done that is comparable to xTheme by Fabolous. Instead of using other Droid X-like themes, I pulled all images from the Droid X & Droid 2 system dumps and made some modifications to my liking since the other themes didn't have the "right feeling" to me.
Please do not repost (or port & upload) my work without permission; do not claim any of my work as your own; I've put a lot of time into making this what it is today. Before doing anything questionable, ask yourself how you would feel if someone took credit for your work. Thanks for understanding.
My customizations that set this apart from others (I was the first to complete the theme) include:
• Changed all system buttons & dropdown menu button font color from black to white, as it should be.
• Changed everything from orange to red.
• Changed text highlight color from orange to a matching red.
• Fully themed system apps, added Droid 2 keyboard, extra soundpack.
Download:
•v0.5 - Fixed dropdown button font from black to white.
http://bit.ly/dvyul7
•Addons - (Fully themed system apps, Droid 2 keyboard, added HTC ringtones/alarms, some iPhone UI sounds, Zegoe font) I'm aware of some of the graphical problems, still working on it. Those nasty .9.png's..
http://bit.ly/ajn0vI
Extras:
•Super Circle Battery (with black %) - Same as regular build, but uses the circle battery with black %.
http://bit.ly/cBRBpY
•Themed LauncherPro v0.7.6.0
http://bit.ly/9Tqrbh
•Themed K-9 Mail - Improved version of stock Email.

•Themed NubDial - Smart dialpad, similar to HTC Sense Dialer.

If you're having trouble getting your statusbar and pulldown font colors to look the way I have them in the screenshots, go to:
Settings -> Cyanogenmod settings -> User Interface -> Notification colors
...and use this configuration:
Notifications ticker color= #ff000000
Notifications count color= #ffffffff
No notifications title color= #ffffffff
Clear notifications label color= #ffffffff
Ongoing notifications title color= #ffffffff
Latest notifications title color= #ffffffff
Items title color= #ff000000
Items text color= #ff000000
Items time color= #ff000000
• It probably won't let you enter 8 digits. Instead, use the last 6; the first ff tells the system to make the colors completely opaque. 00, on the other hand, symbolizes fully transparency. Play with the alpha bar under color picker to your liking.

Just the status bar or do you want everything to be red, too? I did a side project months back where I turned everything in SenseUI from green to red, but iy isn't 100% complete yet. It's more like ~90% finished.

The droid x status bar and everything that is green to red would be awesome! With droid x icons of course
Hi.. Is there any chance you could get this running on a Droid 1 with rc3? I tried this and my apps kept force closing when it booted up. Thanks!
Looks awesome.. Too bad I dont user anything but black status' bars. If you dont mind can you one a black version too?
To OP, I noticed the signal icons were really offset and WAY too small. I decided to center and enlarge them and IMO it looks a lot better. can send you the edited pngs to add them in if youd like.

Yup, not a problem. Do you want it to be this theme with the sense status bar, or the stock sense theme with all green replaced with red? I've practically already done both. Again, it may take a couple of days. I won't get off work until Sunday morning.

Updated original post with ports for SKyraider 2.5.2 & Motorola Droid running CM6 rc3, as well as a black statusbar mod. Let me know if they work out for ya. I'll post updated screenshots of the latest UI when I get time.
Er the Droid port doesn't install. There's an error concerning a boot.img or something..? I thought that maybe the zip file was the problem so I put the framework-res.apk into a different zip file and that installed, but there are still force closes everywhere :[

The Droid X status bar has a blue tint to it making it look much sleeker. The one that is in your screen shots is just white.
why isn't there a service.jar in the droid port? Also I installed over some other guy's droid x theme hoping to get the improvements you listed, but I didn't get any. In fact, it's as if the zip might not even have actually installed.. o_o.

found a thread here that explain how to get it
Super Circle Battery with % |Version A-I & Z (Custom)| Desire 2.2 ROM
Problem
However i found out that i am un-able to use it because the requirments for installing (what i have been told in the thread) is that your device has to be
1. Rooted
2. Have different ROM than the stock ROM
personally i find it very inconvenient to root & flash a new ROM just to get this battery circular percentage (thats all i want, I am pretty satisfied with the stock FROYO 2.2)
Solution
I have modified an APK, used an existing programming logic (Battery Indicator - Open Source Project) but with different presentation.
the APK can be installed to your Desire (and probably other android phones without any problems) and it will show you what you want in the notification bar, just like in the screenshot below
Advantages
- You will not need to root your device (this APP will not change any system files in the framework-res.apk)
- You will not need to install different ROM
- Small size APK, you can just download, install and enjoy
Disclaimer
I have tested this APP on my Desire with stock FROYO 2.2 without any problems I have not tested it on any other device.
The App does not alter any system files, worst case scenario you will get FC. but just to be on the safe side, install on your own risk
wold appreciate any feedbacks
Credits
- Battery Indicator from Darshan Computing (Freeware & Open Source)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To answer some of the questions
- the Circular Battery Indicator does not use a lot of battery resources, the device broadcasts a message when the battery status changes, the app catches this broadcast and update itself to show the right percentage, it is as simple as that, so it is extremely light weight on the CPU.
-It is impossible to remove/hide the original battery icon on the status bar without root privileges, and if you have root you dont need this app, chances are you already found away to alter the original/stock battery icon to match your desire (check first post for the link on how to change stock battery icon if you have root).
-I am considering uploading this to the market, to reach a bigger market and making the updating process easier, dont have lots of time to do this now, but i am surly considering it
-for all the people who are interested in the control switch more than the app itself Lol ... its called "SwitchPro" widget
Enjoy

I like this idea for non-rooted users. Nice work!
Anyone have any ideas for hiding the original one? (without needing root preferably since obviously with root you could install this as a morph/flash).

that could be tricky, since altering any default component in the bar requires system privilege (i.e. root)

offtopic: how to get that bar with flight mode, vibration, 3g, bluetooth etc. buttons? I have that too but there's only like 4 different buttons.

Works very well over here, thanks for sharing.

Tested on Vodafone 845, works perfectly.
The circular indicator looks a bit pixelated though. Perhaps it has something to do with the screen resolution?
Anyway, great app!
I can't see the % number (in white) clearly in my Nexus One (status bar is in white).
I have the same problem as kwankl, except I can't see the number at all. Is it possible to have a version with black numbers?
Thx

where did you get that power control widget with all the extra stuff on it?
Anyone have any comments on how battery intensive this battery monitor is? Most of the other widgets or notification apps I've tried seem to have a serious impact on battery life. Quick Battery is probably my favorite so far and seems to drain the least juice. I like this one's look much better, so I hope it doesn't chew battery.
BTW, display icon looks great on an EVO. Text is clear and readable too.
JellyBean StatusBar

I know the app has been published for awhile but we have been busy... so...
JellyBean StatusBar is a statusbar replacement app that covers the stock statusbar. JellyBean StatusBar is themed to clone the latest Android 4.1 update. This statusbar replacement features notifications, notification counters, all network/wifi signals, battery indicator, battery %, and all font changed to Roboto. This is as close as you can get to having the latest statusbar without root or a custom rom!

Yes. The low rating was from the notifications not working at first. Just make sure accessibility is on. This is our testing app for our newest project being released tonight. This was our first attempt at a statusbar replacement. Check out ICS StatusBar by us for a higher rating

This may not be the answer you want, but it is IMPOSSIBLE for an app to tell when a notification is cleared
When i say that, i really mean it. So far anyways...
So, you will have to learn to clear it by opening the app and the statusbar will clear the icon. I know annoying. But when you open the app it only has to be for a second. So click the notification, wait .1 of a second, click home and its cleared lol.
In the future i will add a notification button to the drop down menu of the statusbar panel that will clear all icons off the statusbar if any get stuck.

It really depends. On my NS it stays under 24mb, but some people report it higher. Try clearing its cache, turn it off, restart it to frefresh it if it get too high. It should get too high though.

Yes, i will add that in too
I came across this in the market few days ago.
Now before I say anything rude, I did everything correct.
This is not at all a jelly bean status bar, when it was pulled down it was stock ICS.
So I'd like to say you should rename this app an ICS status bar. In no way did it resemble Jb.

Its using 35.7m on my galaxy Note. Stock ICS 4.04.
Like the blue instead of crappy touchwizz green, just wish it replaced the pulldown as well, now that would be something! Keep up the good work.

Also I use apex launchers swipe action to show/hide the bar, hiding it is fine, but when showing it the stock status bar is appears for a second before the jellybean one kicks in, u need to speed it up a bit. Thanks again.

I will keep that in mind! I would love to replace the pull down, but seriously, Android takes security for notifications a little far. There is no control over it. The only fear i have with replacing the pull down is missing notifications that may not appear. That would be pretty bad. But like i said, i will keep it in mind :good:
Updates released and available!
Where?! Play store says last updated July 8th.
Keeps crashing , unable to use ( ICS 4.0.3, all stock , SGS2 )
Hehe, I know this one
Keep it going guys!

Synopsis
Okay so I am working on an app based pie that doesn't require root. It uses accessibility services to manage itself. Please don't tell me how we have so many variants of pie, if you are not a fan just move on. My long term goal is to diverge from what current variants have. I created this due to the shutdown nature of the new pie for PA 4+. I have yet to implement a lot of features. I am just throwing this out there to get both ideas and bug reports. Suggestions and requests are welcome but I promise nothing.
Current Features
Code:
- pie controls
- custom coloring
- autostart
- works in landscape and portrait
- system wide function (minus lockscreen and notification panel)
- pie custom sizing
- trigger area custom sizing (width and height)
- cm11 theme support (pulls navbar icons from the system now)
Goals (not promises)
Code:
- gravity other than bottom
- clock
- notifications
- google now/search access
- [STRIKE]custom sizing[/STRIKE] DONE
- animations
- notifications and quick toggle access (like in 4.3 version of pie)
- [STRIKE]themeable (via cm11)[/STRIKE] DONE
- per app coloring
- appstore support
- icon and slicker UI (I could use help with icon)
Bugs
Code:
- having pie up while screen lock requires reboot to end
- occasional pie gets stuck (reboot will fix)
Downloads
Code:
[URL="http://bit.ly/1jIg0xT"]Version 0.0.4a[/URL]
[URL="http://bit.ly/T0MRH8"]Version 0.0.3a[/URL]
[URL="http://bit.ly/1wghLdv"]Version 0.0.2a[/URL]
[URL="https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxTrKYFvIq0JaklXYTJQOEd6bE0/edit?usp=sharing"]Version 0.0.1a[/URL]
Changelog
Code:
Version 0.0.4
- recoding of detection code to boost performance
- support for sound (not integrated yet)
Version 0.0.3
- quick fix to bug introduced in 0.0.2 where landscape pie wouldn't work
Version 0.0.2
- slight redesign (added gap between buttons)
- recoded pretty much everything, the old code was ugly and not modular
in order to the most basic things I would have to do a lot of coding and
going forward that is not good
- custom pie sizing, you can now choose small, medium, large
- custom trigger sizing, increase the size of the trigger if you find it too
small the only problem with this is accidental hits will be more common.
I added this last second so you need to reboot to apply (I will fix this in
the next update)
- CM11 and custom firmware theme support. It now pulls your navbar buttons
from your systemUI so it will look like your CM11 theme or touchwiz or sense
Version 0.0.1
- initial release
How to Use
Turns out a few people were confused on how to use this. Swipe up from the bottom to activate, go over the button you want to use and then release on it.

I think I just might give this a try..... Sounds enticing to try it out. Will tell how it runs

Yeah that's the goal. The only thing I would add root for is for people to hide their navbar if they have one. Otherwise all the functions I have in the app will go without root
Okay so apparently this doesnt work well with xposed enabled. Its works but its a hit and miss. Like some times registers it other times it activates google now. I will give it another try with xposed disabled.
And one more thing it doesnt seem to work in landscape. Dont know why but I shall check.
The customization features do work and they are pretty good. Simple yet powerful.
I shall keep messing around with it for more time.
EDIT:- On second try. I tried it on my note 2 and it works perfectly I think the only problem I am having is becuz main device has on screen navigation bar that's why. So if u have hardware keys u will be all right. On screen buttons might need some work.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes this is meant to replace navbar (on screen buttons). If you use gravitybox or a variety of other stuff you can hide the navbar.
Thanks again and I am working on a big update so stay tuned.
And for landscape it always puts it on the bottom of the phone so in landscape it will be on the long side down. Try that.
Subscribed, will keep an eye on this project as I'm a big fan of pie navigation.
You got featured http://www.xda-developers.com/android/dbpie-brings-pie-controls-to-non-rooted-users/
I'll give this a try. looks good.
I cant use it. Im on a Galaxy s5 and the Service it's eneabled but i cant fin the way to show the controls

Same issue with me. I tried it on Moto e 4.4.2 (not rooted). it doesnt have hard buttons. well i'll try a reboot i guess. but apart from "enabl/disable service" and "color" options. no other option works in settings. you probably have not made them available yet i guess since its alpha. but just reporting.
EDIT: After reboot got toast message that DBPie auto started" But nothing else happened.
Sounds interesting
This app sounds great, specially that you don't need root. But i almost don't see the purpose, at least for me because if my phone is non rooted this app would work (which at the moment it is not, have it enable but nothing happens) but to remove my on screen nav buttons i would need to be rooted. Unless I'm missing something, I've never found a way to permanently remove the nav buttons (and have the keyboard work) without having to be rooted, which at that point I would just use lmt. I look forward to the app progressing but would like a way to give the nav bar within this app and not need root. Thanks
Same problem as stated above. I have nexus 5 running 4.4.4
Well I guess apologies. Its working alright. But hard to make it appear. The space to enable it for devices having onscreen keys is bit too small ..
Have to touch edge of top border of existing onscreen keys to make it appear
Here is ss

This should explain what I meant more properly. This is why most users will think not working.

What is the icon pack you are using?
If this would completely replace the onscreen buttons on my Moto G I would pay for the app instantly. I think the constant onscreen buttons are a waste of screen.
Can you please tell me which CM11 theme and icon pack you use? Those Settings look so gorgeous! <3

It's called flux, it's one of my favorites. It's a cm11 theme so you need a custom ROM (I use Paranoid Android)
UPDATE: New version EB_CD_1.4_BETA is now up on Google Play Store. Download now! Please leave a rating on Google Play Store if you try the App, your feedback is very valuable!
NOTE: The App is tested on Samsung Galaxy S9 so far, for the looks. If you have a Galaxy S8/S8+/S9+, please post some pictures as a feedback. Thanks!
Greetings! I made this special Curved Edition of Energy Bar for Galaxy S8/S9/+. Look forward to hear community feedback on this.

Many of you who have a Windows Mobile past like me, might have instantly recognized the thin colorful line(s) in the above image. And for the new Android generation, introducing Energy Bar - a pulsating Battery indicator!
Energy Bar puts a thin line on top of your Status Bar whose length corresponds to your device's current Battery level.
Got a full charge? The line will cover the whole width of your screen.
Battery depleting? So will the length of Energy Bar.
After several iterations (thank you for the feedback, early testers), the App is now feature packed:
Energy Bar can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to cover the entire status bar
Energy Bar puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
Energy Bar's origin can be configured as left/center/right
Energy Bar can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
Energy Bar can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
Energy Bar could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient
You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
Energy Bar as a cool pulsating animation whenever a power source is plugged into your device
There is something about visual over numbers that keeps you and your device's battery level in sync with just a glance. You may find it intuitive/effective/stylish way to read the battery level, let me know what you think

It works so far.
Thanks for this!! I used to love having this app on my s7e, but somehow forgot about it so I had to buy the full version..
Here's some s9+action with it in play
Sry for the double post, but thought I'd add another picture but in landscape and also a link for anyone that wants to see the bounce animation option, thought it is pretty cool..
It would be nice to have this implemented on AOD.

Definitely an issue if it is an overlay like the app operates but if it was implemented such as the AOD, then it shouldn't be an issue since it's constantly moving around.. But having an overlay over the lockscreen, which I don't think you'd be able to do cause security, would definitely cause burn in with the same pixels being on at literally all times..
What's the impact this app has on the battery life?
Minimal impact

I agree, there are 2 issues:
#1 Displaying Energy Bar while using the phone is one thing, but displaying 24/7 (through AOD) definitely doesn't sound like a good idea, due to potential burn in.
#2 The latest versions of Android doesn't allow any overlay App to be displayed over the system elements like Lockscreen, Status Bar, Nav Bar. Further, Samsung's AOD doesn't seem to allow 3rd party to display, if I were to show Energy Bar on AOD, I would have to make my own AOD implementation.

It should have close to 0% impact. Please check the battery report of System after using for several hours. If it's not close to 0% then I would consider it as an issue, please report.
UPDATE: What's new?
EB_CD_1.2_BETA:
* Adjusted the curve at left corner by 1 pixel, because every pixel matters!
* Fixed issues with 'Status Bar' mode - portrait to landscape switching/auto-hides.
EB_CD_1.2.1_BETA:
* Minor Bug fixes
Hey Guys! If you try the App, please leave a review on Google Play Store, it will be really helpful, thanks!

Looks pretty, especially because of the color combination you chose.
@jagan2 Thanks for the new version. its awesome.
I do have a problem with the overlay in this app though. in some other apps, the screen doesnt register anymore when i press it. when i disable engergy bar it registers my input again. an example is gsam battery bar asking for root. im unable to press exept unless i disable the energy bar.
There were other cases with other apps in the past as well, but i forgot which exactly. I have tried another app like yours powerbar which didnt have this problem, so im hoping you might be able to resolve this problem, as i do prefer energy bar.

You're welcome!
So as far as the overlay issue is concerned, during request of permissions all Overlays should be automatically disabled (doesn't happen on S9+ ?.) Could you give me an example of another instance where the input was not accepted ?
Also, please try the standard version of Energy Bar and report me if the same issues exists? If it doesn't, with that version, pretty sure I can release an instant update.

yes i have been having the same problem with the standard version. on a S7 edge mind you. so its not exclusivly to s9+
about other apps, i think it might be lastpass but im not sure. if i run into it again ill let you know.
i hope maybe others run into this problem as well, so you might get a idea.
So far so good, pretty sweet! The only issue I had was I downloaded the wrong version and have donated twice through both apps
