i recently purchased lumia 710 in india its unlocked phone and entered my windows live id which i rarely use and registered with xbox from the phone itself, i have never used or purchased a zune device or xbox so never had a zune account until then, after xbox registration i was given some number as a zune account name.
i tried logging into the zune software from pc but i get an error location mismatch of live id and my computer (usa and india) my laptop is from usa but windows 7 is pirated version, i changed computer location settings to india later usa but same error.
what should i do now

Hey try to reset your phone and make a new live account/zune account. It should work after that!

Hello guys.
I recently got a S710 from a friend with Windows Mobile 6. Everything was working fine (couldn't get Windows Live Messenger on it but that's ok).
Now I upgraded it to Windows Mobile 6.1 (Gonzo), and it had Windows Live already on it. Now, everytime I try to connect it says:

The Windows Live ID service requires a certificate, but yours isn't working. You can probably fix this by updating the time and date in your device's settings. After you do that, try connecting again.
My date and time are okay, I even have 'Automatic time-zone' enabled.
Windows Update doesn't work either, gives me the following error:

Connection to update server was not available. Check your data connection settings and ensure the device date and time are correct.
I don't think it's my data connection settings , because I can use Internet Explorer without any problem. I did use the search function, but couldn't find much.. can anybody help me with this one?
P.S. I'm kinda new to Windows Mobile.. so please try to keep it noob-friendly

Im stuck with this too. I installed a different version of windows live, off this site and now no WL services work. It even screwed my messenger, which i had on the handset as stock.
There are a lot of WM 6.1 ROM which has this problem. Can you please try fireburned WM 6.1 Clean Stable ROM? It doesn't have this issue.
Ever since I upgraded to 7661 and 7720 I can't connect to my emailserver.
Using a self signed certificate results in a 85002012 error and no way to connect.
So I bit the bullet and bought a certificate. I got a certificate from Godaddy thinking this will solve all the problems.
Well, my phone does connect to the server and then stops dead in its tracks. Now the error code suggest there is a problem with the certificate, error code 80072F06.
I've been trying every trick in the book to get it to work but no luck. Current location: up a certain creek and no paddle.
I checked with Microsoft who claims the certificate is supported in WP 7. Does anyone have a working solution to connect my Omnia 7 with a Kerio Connect server using intermediate certificates?
When you pay the $99 for a unlocked developer windows phone instead of the chevron-method, is it possible it gets relocked again?
I've read that sometimes phones get locked again when they connect to zune.
Is this because Zune checks if the ID is registered in their database? Or is there also the possibility that it can check if you have pirated/unpayed games on your phone?
I was wondering how free a registered phone really is?

So my windows phone 7 (omnia 7 ) only shows up as "device" not as Lucas Samsung Omnia 7
it says that i need to configure it and give it a name.
i am afraid that i will lose all my pics and music and stuff from the phone. i dont want zune to automatically delete my stuff and configure it as a new phone.
So is it save to configure it or is there a work around to re-recognize?
edit: it has a custom rom (DFT) (since a long time). which i dont want to lose
I think I didn't loose anything when I configured my Omnia 7 without and with Custom ROM in Zune, but I can't guarantee what happens with yours. However, after it was configured, Zune always copied everything from my phone to my computer. When I deleted one of those files, they were also deleted from my phone. Setting the sync to manual didn't help, so I had to cancel the sync everytime I connected my phone
Now I didn't configure my phone and Zune thinks it's a guest device. I can still sync manually, but I have full control

Does someone has a clue how to fix this? I tried to call microsoft but no success and same for the seller and HTC support
