Has anyone canceled the at&t contract before its date? - Captivate General

I had at&t for almost year and half now, and the service that I've had was just awful.
I will never recommend for this crap for anyone.
so heres my question, is there anyway i can cancel without paying penalties?
we do not get any reception at house, and I talked to the customer service and they told me its prob my house. something is interfering with signals since there are more than few towers around my house
i believed them for a long time, but yesterday i found out even outside(20feets away from the house) atnt phones did not get any signal while my friends verizon was getting full signals. I already took photos of that and Im thinking about showing this to our house community since at&t is the only DSL service that we got in the area.
anyway so i called them back recently and told them its not only working inside but also outside. now service Representative is telling me that they do not guaranteed inside or outside signals.
Does anyone have any clues to stop this madness?
I am happy with my cappy, but not with the service that comes with this amazing phone.

Why has it taken you a year and a half to figure out that you don't get cell service at your house or in your yard???

Unless I'm completely off base, I believe that as part of your agreement with AT&T, they say that they will provide cellular phone service in exchange for a monthly fee from you. As it appears that they are not holding up their end of the bargain, I would suggest calling back (being polite, but firm) and explaining your situation and dissatisfaction with what is happening. If one call doesn't fix it, call again later. I've had experiences where different reps will be more willing to help you than others.
Just remember to be nice - you want the person on the other end of the line to be on the same side as you are.

I didn't say it took an year and a half to figure out I have ****ty service. I found out as soon as I got it, but they will tell me that they can't do **** about it ever since i called them.
In fact, they do have "notes" to verify that I called them at least 10 times for bad signal but not willing to solve the prob.
they did offer me a micro tower for a half price, but I have no faith left in at&t no more.

If you have had them for a year and a half why not wait out your contract instead of paying their fees? ATT like to get their money no matter what. I dont think there is a way to get away from them without paying the contract cancellation fee which is insane anymore.

customer reps
Before calling them - try local AT&T wireless shop. People there can quickly check their coverage map, or may be fix your phone etc.
Try to find different support phones. I've been in like situation. Try regional, local and main office phones. Try email support or facebook support. Always send the pictures, or fax them. And firmly ask for cancellation of service or Microcell unit.

Your best bet is find someone to take over your contract that's the simplest way to do so...
If you find yourself fighting fees, you can take it one of two ways IMO, keep arguing that it is a dead zone, and that they should update their coverage verification system. That could get you nothing, or a discount, or even all the ETF fees. But in order for that to happen you will have to escalate your call to a supervisor... nicely, don't agree to any terms a regular rep unless your satisfied. Keep in mind that you may not even get to speak with a supervisor directly but the rep should inform you if you do so. And this is counting on good customer service...

There is a way to get out of your Contract early . You need to go on the AT&Twebsiteand look at the map that shows the areas that they provide service and find a place that they do not cover, that is, somewhere they do not provide service. Find a town within that area of no coverage and t ell them you are moving there, you may have to provide a zip code and area code. They asked me for both and I told them both and said I only had a P.O. Box because the place was so rural there was no home delivery. They, AT&T, have to release you from the contract if you move to an area that they can no longer provide you with service. You will even get your deposit back if you had to put one down when you signed up. If there is any outstanding bill when you do this they will use your deposit to pay the balance due and send you a check for the remainder of the deposit. I did this exact thing a couple months ago with no problem. The hardest thing was finding a no service area that is habitable and believable that you want to live there.

Returning g2x probably leaving tmo

I will be returning the g2x and leaving to sprint.
Yesterday I received my 3rd unit. Now I have never had the other 2 past any remorse period.
The phone had finger prints on it. Ding! First flag.
I mean crusted finger prints. Like food leaves on a phone.
Then the after removing the screen protector there are clear hairline scratches in the center bottom part of the screen.. like its been dropped and the polished.
The scratches still very visible.
Tmo sent me a refurbished phone.
I was told its showing as new. But there may have been a mix up at the factory and a refurbished unit may have been sent.
Well that person should stop eating cheetoes before packaging phones.
I'm getting my refund. I'm leaving my grandfathered plan of my faves 89.00 a mnth.
To sprint for unlimited everything 79.00 a mnth.
I just want a working product. I never received a NEW working product like I paid for.
And now I'm getting used scratched up replacements.
Ill be looking to Sprint honestly.

Good luck with that. I just left Sprint and will never go back...
Compare the level of complaints between T mobile and Sprint, I think it is really clear how bad Sprint is. Go to the forums at Sprint.com and see. People are REALLY angry. Myself included. Then look at T mobiles. People complain, of course. But not nearly at the same level. Not even close.
I was a customer from 2007 to 2009. When there was a huge error on my bill, I told them my contract was expired and I'd be leaving. I had bills to prove when I had signed my contract, yet they informed me I had several months left on it.
I waited that two months out and ran from them as fast as I could. I heard "That's what our records indicate" so many times I throw up in my mouth just thinking about it. It was awful.
Stupidly, I went back this past April. I was having issues w/ MetroPcs and the Samsung Indulge.
I just got through with a horrible horrible 3 weeks dealing with a bunch of jerks at Sprint.
I invoked the guarantee and left. Triple checked that I owed nothing.
Got a bill yesterday. The full months bill past due.....and they said I owed JUST the insurance to this months due.
Called Sprint really upset. The rep assured me he'd deleted it and that I owed nothing. After I railed about how really bad my experience was, he assured me that Sprint was sorry and hated to see me go. He was SO sorry that he would delete the "unexplained" six dollars left due on my account!!!! This right after he's just assured me my account was zeroed out! Unbelievable.
Be afraid. Really afraid. My experience was bad. Read the posts at their own forums.
Since I've left, I've sent them many notes detailing my experience. Have yet to receive a reply. Sprint DOESN'T care.
You will love sprint. I've been a customer for over 5 years. And as for the 400 anytime minutes, that's obviously 400 anytime minutes to LAN lines because we have free "any mobile, anytime" minutes. Plus nights start at 7pm for us, not 9pm like T-Mobile.

Yes. But for 10 dollars more I don't have to be worrying about anything (79.99 truly unlimited plan). In the other hand your precious 69.99 plan can cost you a headache. Besides if your in xda you have to know that Tmobile has the best android phones.

I switched from Sprint to T-Mo not too long ago, and all I can say is that my experience with Sprint was horrid at best (really, does anyone truly like their wireless provider). Here's my rundown, but of course ymmv:
-Customer "care" was routinely rude.
-Roaming charges would show up on my bills even though I had an unlimited plan w/o roaming.
-It would take several billing cycles to clear up errors.
-Had to jump through multiple hoops to get warranty repairs done.
-Accused of deliberately damaging phone by a Sprint repair technician.
-Was told by Sprint repair technician he couldn't work on my phone bc there was evidence I rooted it, even though I had re-locked the bootloader, placed stock recovery image on phone, deleted root apps, and removed sd card before taking to repair center.
-A couple of dropped calls a day.
-SMS & MMS messages not being delivered or duplicates of messages.
-Slow "3G" network speed.
-Non-existent "4G" even though I lived in a "4G" area w/ an allegedly strong signal.
Need I go on? I'm not saying that T-Mo is the best ever, but imao, it is far superior to Sprint. Maybe VZW would be better, but their plans are just too expensive. Have they really hassled you about the returns? Probably not. It took my 3 tries to get an acceptable G2x; T-Mo never hassled me or busted my balls about it. Should they have quality controlled better w/ the unit they sent you? Absolutely.
My advice would be to stick w/ T-Mo and keep exchanging that bugger until you get an acceptable unit.
Sprint sucked from day 1, and still sucks. I will go back to verizon before I ever choose sprint.

My experiences were PRECISELY like this. And these things are the exact things seen at Sprint.com. Seriously....JUST LOOK THERE.
Knowledge is power. It could not be any more obvious on their own site.
i left sprint, horrible customer service was my main problem. and i like the use of sim cards. i swear sprint has reps in india
sprint messes up on your bill alot, i had to call in alot to get stuff fixed and i dealt with so many prorated charges.. they were cheap tho lol
Experiences will differ from person to person, but I came back to T-Mobile from Sprint for the G2x and couldn't be happier (even though my phone has a few problems).
Things I disliked about Sprint:
Awful customer service
3G speeds that are 1mb down or less. If you want faster, you have to turn on the battery sucking 4G. You think our G2x's die fast? Try using any Sprint phone with WiMax enabled for more than 2 hours and get back to me.
Spotty 4G coverage. I live in Houston, and you'd think that since it's a pretty big city, we'd have solid 4G coverage. Nope! Unless you're in a spot that you know has 4G and you're not moving, it's useless. Don't bother using it while driving
Equipment. I'm a GSM fanboy. SIM cards make life 100 times easier.
Either way, best of luck.
I just came from 10yrs of Verizon to T-Mobile. My first phone with them was the G2X. I travel in the US very heavily. Ive been very unhappy with their service. Verizon was always dead on reliable when traveling.
I have a trip next week and if its not any better (they said to try a new SIM card) than I will have to leave and go back to Verizon.

There's no doubt Verizon has the best coverage out of all the major carriers. The problem is that they're just too expensive for some people (me)
I came from sprint to TMobile and couldn't be any happier. I get signal at home and work which I didn't with sprint plus for some reason both my evo and epic would not even reach 1mb/s download speeds even with a good 3g signal

I agree, their cheaper. But having no service isn't worth the cheaper part. If I have to pay more for greater coverage...than I don't have a choice

Can we stop these pointless threads please? Yes we know some people aren't happy with the phone or service but there are many who feel the opposite.
If you're unhappy then move along and post in the forum where you are happy with whatever carrier / phone that makes you happy.
I feel your pain. As of today I have my third g2x on the way.
I know from what I hear sprint is better than it used to be. 10 years ago when I was a freshman at college I changed from what is now t mobile (voice stream back then) to sprint. I was going to a smaller school that was smaller in a small town, scholarships are nice. Sprint was the only carrier that worked down there.
One day I was waiting for a friend to call me so we could go do something and never heard from him. I called him all upset and he asked why my number was showing up differently. He has been trying to call my, but sprint decided to change my area code and not let me know. I called sprint to see what was going on, and they confirmed they changed my area code. I was pretty mad that they did this, and didn't let me know. They informed me that the local telephone company should of let me know. Even back then I knew the local phone company had nothing to do with it. I could see if they might of informed my parents before me because they were paying the bill. So I called my parents to let them know that the area code had changed. I guess they had been freaking out. They could not get a hold of me for 3 days because of the area code change.
Then a couple of months later my phone got broken. I had payed for the insurance in case anything happened to the phone. Well I did get my phone replaced, but at the time I had the most expensive phone that sprint had. Its been so long I don't remember what it was. Well I did get a replacement, but it was the cheapest phone that they carried. I was informed that the insurance just meant that I got a new phone, not the same one I had. Needless to say I was mad, so as soon as my 2 years was up I left and never came back. It is so much simpler now that we can transfer our phone numbers.

[Q] How To End Tmobile Contract?

Any lawyers out there? (It's a joke)((unless you're a lawyer))
So the other day I moved to a new area. With that came dropped calls, data speeds of 42 KBs(dial up anyone), and the kicker for me getting ATTs network more often then my own. I've been on the phone a lot with CSR's and you guessed it my call was dropped.
So is there an easy way I can extract my call log to prove this? I just want what I paid for and this isn't it. Not a Tbolile hater as I've been with them for over seven years. Just really frustrated with there level of service in my new area.
And to all that follow with:
1) You signed a contract deal with it?
2) Tmobile rocks!
Leave the thread as is!
I for once just need some help(ie extracting call logs)
Are you just trying to terminate the contract, or are you trying to terminate it without paying the fee? I believe it's up to $200 per line... I forgot.
Maybe you can try talking to a customer representative and explain your situation? T-Mobile is very understanding most of the time.
Tmobile for the past six years has done well by me. No problem relating a problem to CSR. Now a huge problem just to get let out of a contract that they are not honoring(ie dropped calls and sloWWWW data speeds). Change in company policy or change in consumer demand?
I think with a merger coming they just don't give a ****.
So if you look at the OP and can help me isolate the call logs let me know
Thanks

Not idiots more like automatons. Hours of costumer care = no ability to provide a signed contract. "Sorry sir we can't email you that signed copy of contract"
Me "Why?"
CSR "We have no ability to email"
Me "Why?"
CSR "You signed your contract in a store we have no record of it"
Me "Why?"
CSR "insert automaton response here"
Lol pathetic..yea most of them are program like that..as if they are getting paid six figures by Tmobile!

If there's a local T-Mobile store, maybe you can go to them and prove the poor service that you're getting. I'm sure you'll get better responses and help with someone who's probably not a robot, lol. Try to have them help you with actually calling customer service and cancelling your contract without fees.
I can't really tell you about the call logs, but maybe you can prove the poor speeds by running speed tests. Be sure to run them at different times to show that it's not your phone, but your lack of service at your new location.
Of course, all of this can only work if there is actually a T-Mobile store really close by.

call tmobile from a landline not your cellphone
ask to be transfered to retention.. explain to them the issues you are having and tell them the phone does not work in your area. By tyhe way you dont need to icolate the call logs there system flags dropped calles for them.. So they can see how many dropped calls u have. Anyways there about the only ones that can let you out of your contract without paying the termintaion fee. Fyi it is possable to get out of your agreement without the termination fee if you can prove that the service they are providing does not work in your area.. THere is a clause for that..
raver thanks for the tip.
I'll try and see what happens. Is retention the same as costumer loyalty? cause those guys have not been that helpful about my issues.
It sucks cause I really like this phone just want a different carrier at this point.
no theres a retention department if u call and talk to cancellations.. there the last line of defense for them to try n keep you as a customer in your case since you dont have service were u live there the only ones that can let you out of your contract without etf..
No dice. Ten minutes on the phone and quote "It says in our terms and agreements that we don't provide coverage in all area so there is no way to release you from contract without ETF's"
Anyone wanna call them and tell them I'm dead?
Anyway thanks for the help and your roms do kick ass.
Just because there's a clause doesn't mean they will honor it..at the end of the day their contract are probably a thousand pages long..so they will find something to screw you over..kinda like college and the stupid fees they bring out of nowherr!
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
At least stupid college fees get you some type of education all this is doing is pissing me off. There Terms and agreements are long and involved(not quite 1000 pages but close).
Actually maybe I did get some education out of this. NEVER sign a contract with a wireless carrier. It will only end up costing me the ETF. On that note let this thread die.

NEW ATT-esque policies. They have your signed contract filed away somewhere

Congrats on getting out of the contract! That was an exception to many rules and someone will probably get spoken to about it. No carrier (to my knowledge) will let you out of your contract without etf because you moved out of their coverage area, by policy. And on top of that, your contract generally includes mandatory arbitration (meaning its very difficult to take them to court, not that doing so would save you money...)
For anyone that may have a problem like this in the future, your best shot is to use your phone while roaming in one area, to make that look like the place you use it the most, more than you do while not roaming (check to make sure your carrier wont charge you roaming before doing this) for a couple of months. This costs your carrier and they will generally terminate your service without fees, or your consent for that matter, or at the very least gives you better ammo when you call. I know tmo and vzw do this, as do most other carriers that allow free domestic roaming.
On a side note, loyalty and retentions are the same department. Loyalty is the name used with customers because its a friendlier term, retentions is used internally because it a is more accurate description since you don't talk to them for being loyal. If you need to talk to them just call 611 and enter your phone number when asked to do so then say you want to cancel service, it'll take you right there (you learn some tricks when you work at a T-Mobile call center... lol)

I'm in there coverage area which was how I was able to get out of contract. Bad tower bad signal and the kicker is I get ATT on MY phone. Service request twice. One trouble ticket and one good CSR. Bamn no more tmobile. I will be keeping the phone though. And they were nice enough to unlock it for me!
Wasn't there a lawsuit sometime ago where they can't force you to stay in a contract if you move to a new location that they don't cover?

!!! WARNING About Straight Talk !!!! STAY AWAY!!!

i switched from tmo to straight talk last nite. i thought i was going to be happy. i was Mod Edit DEAD WRONG! 1st, i bought a $45 unlimited calling card. the calls were staticy. and on my first 7 calls, 3 calls were dropped in mid call. i called ST to complain. and of course,Mod Edit i wanted my refund back. they said theres no refund. i was furious. so now i'm Mod Edit stuck with this godamn ST for a month. at the end of the month i'm gonna get a $50 unlimited calling card from tmo. yes, i'm going back to shake hands with the devil.
all this time i thought i was using at&t towers for ST service. again, i was wrong. at&t doesnt drop calls or give static. i dont know why ST says they use at&t towers. on top of the $45, i now have to pay $50 to get a calling card from tmo.. not only that, i still owe tmo $70 from the prior month. straight talk is the WORST carrier in the market now!
i share this with all of you to show you how Mod Edit up this company is. dont be a sucker... DO NOT GET INTO STRAIGHT TALK. if you do, youll regret it BIG TIME!!!
thanks everyone
What exactly did you expect? You get what you pay for.
I have used straight talk before, for quite some time actually before just recently switching to sprint. I never experienced any of the issues you are talking about. Actually, I had ZERO problems while using straight talk. It all depends on where your located. Some areas get better service, some dont, thats just how it is.
Almost any support center you call these days are located overseas, its just how this country is becoming. Straight talk offers a great affordable service for cheap which is almost unmatched by other companies.
When you pay 40 dollars a month for unlimited everything, its fair to assume you are going to get only a standard ammount of customer service. you get what you pay for. I dont think you will find yourself ever happy with any cellular service with the attitude you are currently presenting.
Im very happy.
i have to say that i have used ATT and straight talk. ON straight talk now, and love it! Exactly the same service and speeds i had with ATT. i'm using the E71 sim in a Inspire 4G. Only 49 bucks a month including taxes, surcharges, etc. Saving over 900 dollars a year with my wife and I!
Yes, i get/send mms too.
FYI, if you are in a rural area you may not like Straight talk. Some areas just don't have the coverage. I am in central FL, but have used all through Florida, Georgia, ALabama.

i seriously dont think you got better service than tmo or at&t. and i do very much think you got the problems that i got - just my personal opinion. but i do agree that it depends on your location. BUT i'm ni nyc.. and this is supposed to be one of the best spots on earth with no problems. plus, ST claims they use at&t towers. if thats true (which i highly doubt given this evidence), my calls should be perfect without any problems.

support centers is not the point.. the point is to hardly call any support center if the service is so good without problems. and ST DOES NOT offer great service. it may be cheap (as is this case for the obvious wrong reasons), but its not great service by any stretch. if it were, i and others wouldnt be complaining. as much as i hate tmo, i must say that calls on tmo are WAY clearer WITH NO drops in calls.
When you pay 40 dollars a month for unlimited everything, its fair to assume you are going to get only a standard ammount of customer service. you get what you pay for. I dont think you will find yourself ever happy with any cellular service with the attitude you are currently presenting.

again, youre not focusing on the main issue which IS NOT cust serv. the is the quality of the calls. lets get it together. i dont think youll ever be a happy and sociable person with the attitude youre presenting when ppl complain about their issues.

i seriously dont think you got better service than tmo or at&t. and i do very much think you got the problems that i got - just my personal opinion. but i do agree that it depends on your location. BUT i'm ni nyc.. and this is supposed to be one of the best spots on earth with no problems. plus, ST claims they use at&t towers. if thats true (which i highly doubt given this evidence), my calls should be perfect without any problems.

Really man? Ok I understand your upset about it but, The swearing is not allowed and you know this. Second just because someone else got better results dosnt make them wrong or lying. I really hate to tell you but I have gotten better signal outside the city then I ever have while standing in Time Square.
Now for your last comment. If you want to complain about a service provider then do it n their site, Wanna give people a heads up on your personal results, then cool but you WILL do it in a respectful and informative manner.

T-Mobile Account Specialist to the Rescue!

Three months after signing up with T-Mobile, I was already considering dropping their service and going back to Sprint or switching to Virgin Mobile. Why? Here goes...
I signed up for service online, paid the $100 deposit, got the 500 Minute Value Talk plan w/the 2GB Data Plan. I then chose my free G2x and successfully submitted my order. Waited several days to check the status of my order online and saw that my order had been shipped. In order to verify the status, I then called Customer Care and then...the headaches began.
According to everyone I spoke with the phone had not been sent, but they were making sure the phone would be delivered. I must have spoken to several agents until one of them, eventually said the plan was not eligible for a Free Phone. "But I successfully completed the order!"
I eventually bought an HTC MyTouch 4G from another T-Mobile customer who had the phone for a little over a month and had bought a different model. I rooted my phone and never had any extreme problems, other than download speed up until recently, when the Camera and Camcorder crapped out on me. Restored back to stock and tried other ROMS. I also followed suggestions posted in many threads addressing the issue with the cameras, flashing different "Camera" apps, and nothing.
Having gone through many hours of trying to fix my phone, I called HTC to gather as much info on my particular device. They stated the year warranty would expire in April of this year and they would gladly fix the phone for me for free, but I would incur a charge if they found I had voided the warranty. They emailed me an RA form, but I decided to speak to someone at T-Mobile, and based on the info I provided them, they promised a replacement device, but requested my phone's software version. I told them I would call back from another device the following day since I had some "errands" and stuff to do.
I then restored my phone to stock, restored S-On, ran the updates on my device and then called T-Mobile, but then they rejected my request after the replacement was promised by a Supervisor in Tech Support. All they needed to do was verify the IMEI and presto, but I was not able to get my way, so I just left it alone. A week later, I had some voice issues in which I wasn't able to make or receive calls even after removing the battery from the phone, until I was able to get a Customer Care agent who seemed to be outside the Continental U.S. This nice fellow interrupted me while I was explaining my situation to him and said he was going to transfer me to an Account Specialist based on the information he'd seen in the notes. After I asked why, he stated they valued me as a new T-Mobile customer. I was like, "Whatever".
Upon doing a warm-transfer, a young lady by the name of Ashley, indicated she was going to talk to a supervisor and I asked if there was something wrong with my account, but she refused to give me any info. After coming back on the line, she stated her sup had authorized a replacement ticket which was being emailed to me while we spoke, in which they would replace my MyTouch 4G at no cost to me. Imagine that! She apologized on behalf of the company for the misinformation I was given at time and the poor customer service. Three months of crappy overall service and I got a new phone! My download speeds on the bad device were less than 2000kbps. Now, they're at a high 6000kbps.
That girl and the small group of dedicated T-Mobile employees who go beyond their call of duty, deserve an applause. My contract and plan stayed the same. There are good folks at T-Mobile...you just have to keep trying.
Man. What a pain. If you had raised a fuss initially, you could have gotten your G2X. A contract is a contract and you signed up for a free G2X, which their system sold you. I'm pretty sure they were legally bound to give you one. Did you have a receipt?

Not only did I have a printed one, but snapshots and HTML code from the actual page. Believe me, I wanted to raise hell at first, but I thought it would be a waste of time. While with Sprint, I like others, had access to the Sprint Executive Customer Service Hotline number thanks to The Consumerist, but with T-Mobile I just felt I was out in the cold from Day 1.
The phone replacement doesn't change my perception of their overall Customer Care and Retention Department. One of the last persons I spoke to before talking to the gentleman and Ashley, was a rep from their Spanish-speaking Retention Department. I asked for at least one minimal incentive for me to stay with T-Mobile and her answer was this: "I cannot provide you with even the slightest discount because you are a new customer." Yeah...but one who's paying for a service.
I wish I had stayed with Sprint. I worked for them through ACS in their Tech Support Department. When the store reps wouldn't deliver, we'd jump in and prevent even an escalation to retention. I guess that's what keeps me ticked off at them. I hate not getting the service I strive to always provide my customers with.
I'll stay with them til after my contract is over
I have never experienced bad customer service through my 3 years with T-Mobile, but then again, I never really needed it throughout the time. I got a replacement phone on Monday, and the lady I talked to for it was very kind and polite.

Wow...I guess because you've been with them for a while. Glad they were able to help you and be nice about it to.
My wife and I couldn't pass up TMos 2 for $99 /mo plan but it took 7 different reps to get that sorted out cuz no one had heard of it ... even though it was all over the radio and on their homepage! - Gotta say they were quite ready to help even if they didn't seem to know what they were doing.

[Q] Sprint ETF

So I signed up with sprint about 4 months ago and its been 4 months of hell. Their data speeds are simply too slow to the point where my phone is pretty much unusable unless on wifi. I've called a few time to complain and they claim towers are down and blah blah but even when the tower goes back up speeds are no different. I made damn sure to check the coverage map for my area before signing up but its pretty clear the coverage map on there site is a blatant lie.
I've had it and I'm going to call Sprint and try and complain my way out of my contract. I'm paying a lot of money per month for service they claimed to offer but don't. My question is if I successfully get them to let me out of my contract will I lose my phone number or will I simply be able to sign up with a new carrier without being charged an ETF fee?
I too would like to know more about the process associated with ending Sprint service. I'm pretty unhappy with their lackluster data network and absence of an official ICS update for the E4GT.
anyone?
Ported to AT&T
I don't have a solution to your problem but I'd like to share my equal frustrations. I Actually was a AT&T customer and switched to sprint bc the bill is $3 less and unlimited data. Sounded awesome to all of us right? I even payed a partial etf to AT&T to do it bc I thOught I'd be saving money in the end. I signed to sprint 11/2011. Worst mistake ever. Its been 7 months of disgusting slow Internet speeds and some apps are unusable including maps(iPhone 4s). The customer service is a freaking joke. I'd rather be talking to creditors. Btw I'm posting this in hopes some poor sap thinking about switching to sprint stumbles on it the way I did this post( albeit too late). Long story short, I just ported back to AT&T a couple days ago. Exxact same phone(iphone 4s). Spent a few hours on the phone with sprint and talked to FIVE associates including TWO that hung up on me. (and no I wasn't being uncivil. In fact I was being over polite in hopes that it would work in my favor). They don't know what they're doing. Only one of them was helpful and actually listened to what I was going through. I was informed in April that if I canceled I would only have to pay $272. Now they're charging me 320 PLUS $60 in JUST TAXES. So that's $380. They're not getting that out of me. Ever. I've already got crap credit
