Say Hello to a new World.
There are few games on mobile that are insanely addictive. Parallel Kingdom AOT, is by far the most intriguing one I have come across. PK comes across as a MMORG, which uses the GPS on your phone to place you in your actual location in game.
The game starts you off as an explorer beginning his/her journey. As you continue your adventure, you level up, get upgraded weapons and armor, and slay monsters day in day out. You constantly play alongside other players, from throughout the world, teaming with them to form kingdoms, cities and alliances.
Parallel Kingdom uses Google Maps as the background, and makes use of GPS satellites to place you in your real life location. New updates including the satellite map feature lead to you actually getting the sense that you are enjoying a high seas adventure with your mates, or leading an expedition through the Sahara desert, or struggling through the Amazon forest, slaying any monsters that come you way.
The great thing about PK is that you continue in the same place you leave. So you don’t have to worry about getting back to where you log off. Perblue devs have managed to create an amazing game through almost a 3-year period.
PK is available on both Android and iOS.The game has reached the 1,000,000 player mark and is spreading fast. The game is a nice change from Angry Birds, and maybe a step away from it and possibly all other games. Don't blame me if you end up becoming a PK addict.

Hello new world......you got WoW por la me?
Seriously try this, this is an epic game. Not the 3-d graphics etc you would normally want from a mobile RPG. However, this is really an exceptional game, and it runs very smoothly, plus its easy to adapt to and very hard to get away from it.
Thanks for the tip, gonna have to try this out now!

The game uses food as a currency. Food can be bought with real cash, dollars pounds etc. One of the payment methods which can be used is Zong. Zong uses messages to get u food, I am not sure about the entire procedure but thats the basics. If you wish to buy food you are directed to a message which if you send gets you the amount of food you want to buy.
This was brought up on the PK forums as well.
hey... Helloooo new world
I sent out messages to all the people who started playing, just send me a if you need any help at all.
Front page?
This game has been out for years, you advertise it on the forum along with your referral code and it gets on the front page? Did you make the game?

I am not one of the devs. However, people at XDA looking for intuitive, exciting, and enjoyable content, and PK, is that. So it was'nt a surprise that this ended up on the front page.
It was maybe lost on the XDA forums, because when I checked for other threads about PK, there were a couple from two years ago.
This is a brilliant game and it deserves to be highlighted on the front page regardless of the day it was launched.

DB - Its people like you that are making XDA what it is now, D-Bags like you....
As far as OP goes, I love this game been playing for a few months too......It's very addicting and constant changes and improvements to gameplay and strategy. The Devs are great at listening to the users and giving them what they want. One of the best parts about this game is it's multi-platform so you are playing with IPhone players as well so the vast amount of people playing is ridiculousness. I got the same name on the game as here so look me up.

LOL! D-Bags made XDA the efficent dev forum we know and love? And I'm one of those d-bags? Oh, I feel special.
As for pk, I played it about 2 years ago, lasted an entire month and a half with me playing seldomly. I'm no longer an active player, but it was a great time waster when there's nothing else to do.
Thats pretty neat

I'm making a "This is an intervention" for all Gameloft game issues, did I miss any?
I've presented a list of errors, issues and bugs across many Gameloft games... it's meant to be sort of like an intervention because Gameloft's amount of screw ups is almost as large as it's support.
Not to be mistaken, I do truly appreciate what they do and I'm not exaggerating when I say I've paid for every Gameloft game listed in the Xperia PLAY category of their store... but competence and quality control need to be stepped up big time. I've heard enough complaints on their own board (and here) to confirm this.
The thread's already active, and it's already got their attention, I just want to know if there's any issues with Gameloft's Xperia PLAY games that I've missed.
Gameloft Intervention Topic
I hope you make a difference with this. I think PC games devs need a wake-up call as well for certain "mistakes" constantly made.
Your post is pretty thorough. The only thing I would add is the BIG problem with Trophies/Achievements. I've already finished Dungeon Hunter 2 in easy, have ~5 achievements in Eternal Legacy, N.O.V.A 2 HD and Spider-Man and not one of those shows in my Gameloft live account.
Sacred Odyssey is truly the worst offender. The game is decent, but I haven't been able to get through the Fire temple since it FCs all the time!
I trully hope they listen to your plea.

Your words say one thing, your acts another. If you purchase all of their catalog even in the knowledge that it's buggy, they don't have any incentive to improve, as they will understand their buggy catalog is successful.

That would be true if not for the fact that these flaws aren't always immediately evident, and sometimes there's no prior behavior to use as a base for judgment.
After buying so many Gameloft games where at least the movement and menu control work, how could someone just 'expect' Eternal Legacy to have an issue where you always move diagonally?
After buying so many Gameloft games that, at the very least, manage to stay running without error, who could just instinctively expect that Sacred Odyssey would have force closing issues?
Or even better yet, who could expect that Order & Chaos would be released in the Xperia PLAY section without it actually having Xperia PLAY controls?
Someone who's only played Assassin's Creed, AVATAR, Star Batallion, Dungeon Hunter 2 and Spider-Man could very well think nothing but greatness of Gameloft out of only playing the games that aren't hugely flawed.
The 'boy who cried wolf' repeat offender logic isn't exactly applicable here... matter of fact it only works for a select few shooters... you've got to see both sides of the spectrum before making a call like that.
I took advantage of the promotion of three free games by Gameloft. I would say that with three games one can have a good idea where the quality level lies.
As a result: Let's Golf 2 was offensively poor, with a retarded AI and unpolished interface. I'm yet to play Backstab because it has no sound, no matter the ROM I use or the many download links I've been provided. Sacred Odyssey is just ok.
With that experience, I am certain that
1) One can only expect crud from GL.
2) I won't finance crud if I can avoid it: my taxes do that already.
And of course, all of this is not taking into account the Xerox processes that we all know and love.
I hate to sound cynical here but this thread implies that Gameloft doesn't have a QA department. Any game dev has a QA department and in spite of that a number of developers ship titles with known bug. Making a thread here is really just a sounding board for us. I could be wrong about this but even if Gameloft were to look at this post they're not inclined to correct there issue. Their business model seems to be about trying to bring multiple genres across multiple devices. If they can't get an exclusive at release like Backstab to work more effectively whats the chances that they take our complaints to task. For this reason I don't buy anymore Gameloft games. Why continually buy wack games from them then complain about it here, as if they don't know the problems of their games. Controls being wonky is not a bug that you discover after release.
Sir OP, there are things that I want added.
First, for Backstab. Lots of FCs, severe clipping, and resetting to Level 2 (while riding a boat with a girl, not sure if it was level 2) during force closes when in fact I have already progressed further and nearing the end.
Second, for Rainbow Six, player keeps commanding, "Go into position" without me telling them to, obliterating stealth approach. The green commands on the walls get highlighted by themselves without me issuing the order, thus, sending teammates to a position I do not want.
Another is teammates shooting on sight when the mission in fact is a covert operation, obliterating the entire mission and having to restart again.
General suggestion on their FPS games, why not copy Bad Company 2's key-mapping? Since we use the left-touchpad to move, why not use the D-pad for things LIKE Left for Previous Weapon, Right for Next Weapon, Down for Crouch. (God we still use touchscreen to crouch in MC2!) Besides, SE's idea in introducing the Xplay is to reduce/eliminate the need for Touchscreen controls!
I just stopped buying Gameloft games. The last two I bought I play for about 3 minutes, thankfully they were on for 99c.
I'm just patiently waiting for gta 3

Actually if you hold down the Circle button and press down or up that allows you to crouch/stand up. I'm not sure how I figured that out or if it was in the instructions somewhere.
lmao... I see narflynn didn't waste any time going over there to give Nik 'the business'.

I'm having trouble understanding exactly what you meant by that.
"Receiving infractions is very hard, but I admit I can be a **** when someone is dicking dropping stupid **** on me. An eye for an eye amigo!"
Anyway, what I meant with that is that, for example, I am already on advanced levels like for example the zombie village, the game will just crash and when I start it back up again, I start again from the level where Blake still has his long hair and beard. I mean, the mission with the cutscene in which he was on a boat with a girl then suddenly a bigger ship collides with them. That's it!
Over the last 4 months that Nik has been saying the same thing on every single complaint post on their forums. He deserved it.

Let's golf sucks, thats true. But really, dungeon hunter 2 is a awesome game, and so are NOVA2 and BackStab
And for the record, Backstab has sound.. I can assure you that and if you want to i can make a video to prove it. Did you maybe buy the market version? or the "ask google for the .apk" version, because the one i bought in the gameloft wapstore is working just fine and i bought it the day it came available so probably the oldest version there is, besides the bugs OP wrote in his thread everything works. Only a little bit low fps sometimes, probably has something to do with my background processes. Because it happens now and then.

Backstab has never had sound in my case. I've been sent multiple APK's and I've downloaded it 10 or 12 times from Gameloft's site... to no avail. if it does have sound in yours, more power to you. How's the plot?

Hi guys, i have an HTC Mozart with custom rom and i love it, but i really want to know why the market doesn't have the games that the other market have, like fifa 12, dead space ecc, i really want to play those game on my wp7
And an other question: why the price are so high (angry bird, fruit ninja ecc.)?
Sorry for my bad english
Hi,
There are a couple of reasons why there are less games. First off the WP7 marketplace is the newest out of the three app marketplaces of iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. It just takes time to build up a lot of apps, and WP7 has had the least time so far.
Since it is the newest marketplace, it prevents a lot of devs from trying the platform. For indie developers, not that much. But for larger studios there needs to be at least a certain user base before they will develop apps. I have also heard some people mention that it requires additional work to port existing games over to WP7.
This is what leads to the higher prices for the well known games like Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja. Since less high profile games have been ported over, the well known games can charge more. There really isn't an incentive for them to lower prices since they are already known on other platforms and are past the "give away stuff to get your name out phase".
Additionally, Xbox Live games seem to come at a $3 minumum, although there are a couple of free ones that just give a few points (like, 50) of gamerscore. If you don't limit yourself to the big-name games, you'll see a lot of indie ones that are free or only a dollar, and some are very high quality. The trick is sorting through them to find the good ones.

Hello!
I've recently completed the first book of my text adventure game after a year of work, and I would be very grateful if you could give it a try and give me some feedback. In this game you play as an ordinary guy trying to win a mage tournament against the most powerful mages in the world, in the hopes of winning the grand prize, and using it to fulfill your lifelong dream of becoming a mage yourself.
As you progress, you will also get to know the inhabitants of the continent that the tournament takes place on, and you will learn that a person called the Creator established several utopias in this realm a few hundred years ago, where animals and humans could live in harmony, and where food was created through magic. What you will get to experience throughout the game, however, is the downfall of these utopias, and you can even choose to save them from destruction if you so desire.
Besides the traditional choice making, you also have stats you can level up, and there are different checks in the game to see if you have the necessary level to take a certain action. For example, if your ancient languages level is high enough, you can understand when the animals or monsters speak.
Here is the link to the game: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.magiumgames.magium
I hope you'll all enjoy playing this game as much as I enjoyed making it!
Cheers!
Congratulations
Dude, your game is just amazing, the best app I have ever downloaded in my phone, I just want to congratulate you and say that I cant wait to see what happens next! Keep up with the good work (and please tell me the first book's ending can be reversed ).
P.S.: why don't you put your game for ios as well? I have some friends that loved the idea but only have iPhones.
I just saw the XDA thread on r/androiddev and I remembered this forum. Just wanted to let everyone here know that since my initial post on this forum, the 2nd book has also been completed and the story is still in progress. Chapter 4 of book 3 was published a few days ago on android and iOS.
Cheers!

Unfortunately, it looks like Google Play purchases are unavailable in Montenegro, and this game relies exclusively on IAPs for income (the game doesn't have any ads). Aside from that, if I were to publish the game there without an option to pay to unlock the next books faster, I'd be sure to get negative reviews from people. I'll publish it there if Google ever makes purchases available in that region.

Makes sense. Maybe you could consider making an alternative version without IAPs, so that you could sell it from Play Store and XDA store with an upfront price? Or maybe there are other IAP providers that do not depend on Google's slow expansion? I have no idea how practical that would be, but at least you would be able to reach a few more people...

I can't really sell it with an upfront price because the game is still in development. The first two books and first four chapters of book 3 are available, which all amount to around 600k words on all paths, but the series will have 5 books or more, and I don't want to ask for the full price now, because it takes a long time to write these.
I had the game up on the amazon store for some time, but there were barely any downloads coming from there, so I pulled it out, because it wasn't worth the extra effort to port a new version for that store.
When the whole story is finished, I'm planning to put a full-priced version of the game on Steam, and maybe then I'll also consider some other stores, but that will be years from now.
Ok, good luck and sorry for noise.
Amazing story, enjoyable and fun. Must be crazy hard to keep up with writing it tho.
A song that kinda feels like it matches this is "Tabi no Tochuu (Spice and Wolf)" by AmaLee.
Barry (my one at least) is a crazy but smart guy focused on his aim, which I love.
Good luck with the rest of it, I'll defo be keeping up.
PS - You might wanna secure achievements by forcing over the cloud or something cause someone can get the books for free by editing the savefile as root.
This is interesting
I've been working on this app for quite a while now.
It's a bit of a farming/cooking/simulatedGambling game.
It's in Arabic.
The game is aimed towards middle eastern Gulf countries which are known to be conservative.
| checked a few minutes ago and simulated gambling games are indeed banned in Saudi Arabia (not sure about other Gulf countries though). Even websites that have these sort of games are banned.
Casino games are banned on Google Play but not on IOS for some reason, slot machine games are not banned on both IOS and Android.
There is no money to be earned in my game it's not real gambling (but game has IAP), and the layout of the games aren't similar to Casinos in terms of style and color. Thing is I wanted to make sure the games do not resemble Casinos in any way.
Games included within my game are:
-Slots
-BlackJack (numbers only not card deck)
-mini Roulette
I'm also considering adding
-Street Dice
-Sic Bo (simplified using only 2 dices instead of 3)

Yeah, you should check the rules of Google App and you will understand that it contradicts their policy. In my opinion, it is rather strange to restrict the work of honest official applications like fairspin, for example. It is the choice of everyone to test your luck on such sites or not. The platform is honest and why users can't play also your app I can't understand too. It is like the lottery, but I don't understand why some official lotteries are working without any problems, but casinos are not allowed.

Because the culture there is different, so is the law. Banning gambling is part of the law there, so yeah, anyone considering making a game that may be ressemblent to gambling should try to contact officials that works around those subjects. I don't know very much about how and who to contact tho...
Other countries like China have rules to follow, regarding the content of your app/game.
Make sure to check official texts (if there are, and are available to the public) before publishing or making your app.
I'm not sure that gambling will become more accessible anytime soon.
