Ur phone is the motoroi xt720 right? All the custom ROMs for motoroi xt720 is found on this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227835
These ROMs were meant for your phone but with Mioze7ae help, he also managed to make it work with motorola milestone xt720 with bootfix. Instructions for your phone are:
1) RSD for STSKT_N_79.33.50R (Android 2.2.1)
2) root
3) OpenRecovery install
4) ROM download and copy (/sdcard/OpenRecovery/updates)
5) OpenRecovery boot
6) Wipe Data / Factory reset (Please reset first!)
7) Apply Update
8) reboot
Hope that helps!
Jdaddy version doesn't need bootfix

4.extract the nandroid and put the files only on your sdcard (create folders if do not exist):
/clockworkmod/backup/nandroid
5.boot into system recovery, wipe cache, data, all, then restore the nandroid back up you've just downloaded

Hi all
I have just install MIUI to try it out after using adlxmod f4d since I got my Defy (had a Dext before and used adlxmod on that too, so it was the logical starting point)
However, one of the steps is to wipe the Dalvik cache, and the recovery threw an error ("Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 No such file or directory). Looking round, somewhere I saw mentioned I should upgrade the custom recovery, but I have no idea how. The only thing I ever did (with my Defy) was install Tenfar's recovery app, as listed in the F4D instructions at the time.
Anyone able to help me solve this?
Cheers all

drmouse81 I think the best approach for you is to wipe everything from stock recovery, then flash the nordic SBF. After you have flashed the nordic SBF you must root your phone (use SuperOneClick - it quite easy) and then install 2nd Init v1.4.2 (it will install also CWM). If you like to install MIUI you can follow the steps mentioned on this topic.
You will also find a lot of useful information on this topic: link.

do you know whats the location of downloaded updates in defy plus?
got an update for 45.0.82.MB526.Retail.en.GB
------------
EDIT: found it in /cache/
still downloading...

finished... will update soon
this is good only for red lense/defy+ owners

Hey walter79,
How do you dump software from Defy? My father bought Defy+ via local retail and it seems to be first CEE 2.3 Moto software, also with full Motoblur. I know some of guys are already translating strings.xml files into some languages (Polish included) but it seems pointless now as the work seems to be already done by Motorola
If I root, install 2nd-init/recovery and do full nandroid backup, can I do a system restore after flashing fixed SBF to install it on my own Defy?
Hello Walter, this Rom is officialy for Defy or Defy+ ?

it is for defy+ but you can try it on your defy red lens no need for battery patch.
I know that you will post more information about this Rom...but, do you could say me what advantage for MS2Ginger Lite 2.0(2.1Full)? Thanks.
What about Antututu scores? Could you test it?

Thx.
Can you upload Screenshot?
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App

And I followed this instructions. So I cannot downgrade any more?
It is not so tragic because everything runs fine, but for future updates it would be good to know...
Hi!
What I did:
- Got root with z4root
- Made Recovery with Rom-Manager
- Installed Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrap and selected "Bootstrap Recovery"
- In ClockworkMod Recovery -> Wipe Data; Wipe Cache Partition (like in cyanogenmod-tutorial (cannot post link) )
What I should not have done:
- In ClockworkMod Recovery -> select something like "install Image" and installed Cyanogenmod. But the Tutorial said, i should have selected "install zip from sd-card".
Now my droid2 boots with Motorola-Logo und then .. nothing. (Black screen but still active.) I can boot into Bootloader (fastboot i think: "Bootloader 70.12 ; Battery Ok .. "), but a Hard-Reset doesn't work (On+x).
Please mighty xda-developers show me a way to a working android ( best of all cyanogenmod )
vinke11
If you can reach the bootloader screen, you should be able to re-flash a stock firmware via SBF. See http://droid.koumakan.jp/wiki/SBF for instructions (and if you are using Mac OS X or Linux, see http://blog.opticaldelusion.org/search/label/sbf_flash for an alternative to the Windows-only app RSDlite).
This thread has links to the files you will need.
If you get your D2G working and rooted again, do not follow the instructions on the official CyanogenMod website or try to flash a CM build from that site; the official builds for D2G are based on Motorola's Froyo firmware. There are better, unofficial builds based on Gingerbread:
CM7 D2G unofficial and CM7 D2G user thread
CM9 D2G unofficial and CM9 D2G user thread
if you have Bootloader 70.12, you have a milestone 2, not droid 2
same instructions, but use different SBF files
I may add more
edit:
please move to milestone 2 forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=957
Thank you!
I reflashed my device with an german sbf-file. I wondered, why your sbf didn't work.
