[Q] Can't Boot anymore.. - Droid 2 Global General

Hi!
What I did:
- Got root with z4root
- Made Recovery with Rom-Manager
- Installed Droid 2 Recovery Bootstrap and selected "Bootstrap Recovery"
- In ClockworkMod Recovery -> Wipe Data; Wipe Cache Partition (like in cyanogenmod-tutorial (cannot post link) )
What I should not have done:
- In ClockworkMod Recovery -> select something like "install Image" and installed Cyanogenmod. But the Tutorial said, i should have selected "install zip from sd-card".
Now my droid2 boots with Motorola-Logo und then .. nothing. (Black screen but still active.) I can boot into Bootloader (fastboot i think: "Bootloader 70.12 ; Battery Ok .. "), but a Hard-Reset doesn't work (On+x).
Please mighty xda-developers show me a way to a working android ( best of all cyanogenmod )

If you can reach the bootloader screen, you should be able to re-flash a stock firmware via SBF. See http://droid.koumakan.jp/wiki/SBF for instructions (and if you are using Mac OS X or Linux, see http://blog.opticaldelusion.org/search/label/sbf_flash for an alternative to the Windows-only app RSDlite).
This thread has links to the files you will need.
If you get your D2G working and rooted again, do not follow the instructions on the official CyanogenMod website or try to flash a CM build from that site; the official builds for D2G are based on Motorola's Froyo firmware. There are better, unofficial builds based on Gingerbread:
CM7 D2G unofficial and CM7 D2G user thread
CM9 D2G unofficial and CM9 D2G user thread

if you have Bootloader 70.12, you have a milestone 2, not droid 2
same instructions, but use different SBF files
I may add more
edit:
please move to milestone 2 forum

Thank you!
I reflashed my device with an german sbf-file. I wondered, why your sbf didn't work.

Custom recovery... A little confused

Hi all
I have just install MIUI to try it out after using adlxmod f4d since I got my Defy (had a Dext before and used adlxmod on that too, so it was the logical starting point)
However, one of the steps is to wipe the Dalvik cache, and the recovery threw an error ("Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 No such file or directory). Looking round, somewhere I saw mentioned I should upgrade the custom recovery, but I have no idea how. The only thing I ever did (with my Defy) was install Tenfar's recovery app, as listed in the F4D instructions at the time.
Anyone able to help me solve this?
Cheers all

drmouse81 I think the best approach for you is to wipe everything from stock recovery, then flash the nordic SBF. After you have flashed the nordic SBF you must root your phone (use SuperOneClick - it quite easy) and then install 2nd Init v1.4.2 (it will install also CWM). If you like to install MIUI you can follow the steps mentioned on this topic.
You will also find a lot of useful information on this topic: link.

Advice needed

Hey guys, Im trying to help someone who has previously flashed a full 2.3.4 sbf.
He has done the downgrade and says that now 2nd init will not install no matter what. Says he has tried every version of 2nd init and no go! My question is, does the 2.3.4 flash somehow screw up install of 2nd init even after downgrade? Could he use the old school Tenfar's Recovery to install the CM7 and from there use the preinstalled 2nd init included in CM7 to install Ms2Ginger 2.1? I know he can't use Tenfar's recovery to install Ms2Ginger 2.1 because it doesn't include Advanced Restore options to restore devtree etc. as stated in the Ms2Ginger 2.1 installation instructions.
Does this 2.3.4 downgrade allow a simple .zip install of CM7 thru Tenfar's Recovery?
or will he still need some sort of fixed sbf to boot after flashing CM7 zip
AND (sorry guys) won't he need to create a new fixed sbf to install Ms2Ginger 2.1? I mean won't he need to use the included fixed sbf and depack it to swap CG31.smg with one from 2.3.4 sbf to maintain CG31.smg level 5?
Thanks to anyone who can help here!
He must required rooting the Defy first to install 2nd-init.

Follow the steps mentioned in this post and you will manage to downgrade it.
ummm..... Not sure you guys read the post correctly. He has already downgraded from 2.3.4! I guess I didn't mention this but ya, he has rooted his phone too! He says that when he clicks to install 2nd init it says success but at the top still reads that 2nd init is NOT currently installed. Upon rebooting he does NOT get a blue led flash and is in a boot loop as well!
You can use tenfar old recovery to update your bootmenu with the version in msginger 2.1 post, there's a flashable zip there with bootmenu+cwm. Dunno if this will work. You can try to install a 2nd init 1.4.2 or bootmenu via adb too, search the first bootmenu topic and you find how to do it.
Thanks Antony.PS I must have overlooked that. Its not for me, just trying to help someone else. Will the fixed sbf provided for ms2ginger 2.1 work for someone who has done the downgrade from a full 2.3.4 sbf flash?

Phone won't boot into ClockworkMod Recovery

Hi,
I currently have ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.2.3 installed and am using ROM Manager Premium 5.5.1.5 to attempt to install CyanogenMod.
I have the correct rom downloaded for the Verizon version, but every time I try to boot into the ClockworkMod recovery, the standard Android Recovery screen comes up instead.
I have followed about 3 different tutorials, and each ended in the same result.
Any idea what could be going on?
Thanks!
Sounds like user error. If you're rooted, you can use EZ Recovery from the play store to flash your recovery of choice.

How did it fail?
Sent from my LG spectrum (that's right) blazing fast on cm10!
I am having almost the same problem. I rooted my phone using this:
<< 03.06.2013 - PhilZ-cwm6 v5.06.1 with CWM 6.0.3.2 based recovery >>
DDLSC - DXLSE - JPLSB - XXLT6 - ZSLO2 Fixed for bootloop
ZCLSF (no bootloop fix, proper default.prop)

as it matches my phone make, build, kernel's date, model, etc. The trouble is when I go to recovery mode from ROM Manager it just stops on its way showing me this green little robot and a progress bar in the middle and it could stay like this for hours without moving anywhere. I have to press my power button and then it moves on and reboots into CWM. I have tried a whole lot of different rootings methods but ROM Manager v5.5.3.7 simply refuses to work with PHILZ-CWM6-DDLSC-ODD-5.06.1-SIGND.ZIP... I am completely lost...
Could anybody suggest / advise anything please? I would highly appreciate it Many thanks in advance!
I am on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, Samsung Galaxy Note GT N7000, build number is JZ054K.N7000DDLSC, baseband version is N7000DDLS6, kernel version is 3.0.31 – 906407 March 6, 2013.

[Q] How do I flash a Rom on my phone?

Hi!
I've rooted my Samsung Galaxy S 4G, and now want to flash it with CM10
This is the guide I've been following but I've never succeeded:
w w w . android. gs /update-galaxy-s-4g-cm10-android-4-1-jelly-bean/
Every time I go into CWM and chose the zip file, it says that it can't mount my SD card.
I've wiped the cache and deleted all user data (factory reset), though it still won;t flash.
I've used programs like Android Commander, and it still won't flash.
Will someone please explain to me why I can't flash the rom?
Welcome to the forum,
You need recent CWM (the blue one) to be able to flash mtd roms.
You have two choices:
1) Flash using heimdall one-click (found in the stickies section) then CM10 using CWM. <=- (you do need to follow the instructions carefully)
2) Download Samsung Galaxy Kernel Flasher from play store, and download AntonX kernel (Search the forums), then flash CM10.
Edit:
I checked the link you provided, I would say please DO NOT flash any ROM from unknown sources. In quick glance they provide false
information. Specifically you cannot return to STOCK with CWM once you are using MTD rom (you need heimdall or Odin).
Please read before you flash anything.
PS: despite flashing using CWM is somewhat safe for this device (SGS4G), but don't take this safety for granted for other devices,
ALWAYS be careful, and learn from other people mistakes (I recently hard bricked S2 Hercules by flashing wrong kernel using CWM).

How would I get the new (blue one) CWM?
And what could I do about my sd card mounting in CWM?
Thanks again though for the advice, it had too many bugs!

[Q] Mixed up in my Photon Q CM Install

Installed CWM but installed the 4.1 update for Photon Q instead of the one here: wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_moto_msm8960 which is the recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.4-xt926.img
Rooted.
Unlocked.
Wiped data
Tried to install CM11 anyway, it failed, already wiped so then tried to restore. Backup failed on /system...
Where do I go from here? How can I install the correct 6.4 CWM over the one on there now through adb?
I was stuck at the bootloader unlocked screen for a while, but now I was able to get to fastboot.
Any help?
I successfully installed CM11 on my Atrix HD.

You don't want to install that version. The newest one you can install right now is CWM 6.0.1.3
Go here for that=> http://clockworkmod.com/rommanager
Go back into FASTBOOT, and go into your command prompt and type: fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.3-asanti.img
Turn the phone off, hold Volume UP+Power Button until it boots back into recovery. Hope that helps
Fixed. and installed CM11.
I was able to get to fastboot and from there I flashed the correct CWM by typing fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img
With the recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.4-xt926.img on my Photon Q, I was then able to successfully go ahead and install CM11, gapps, and backup the phone.
Thanks for the wonderful resources here!
I should mention that CM11 being unified for these Motorola devices has been great. Getting practice on my Atrix HD prepared me for the Photon Q. I used all the same tools and should have used the same .zips... I got screwed up when I tried to install what CWM had listed default.
I don't know if I mentioned it before, I am installing the unified moto_msm8960 version.
Lesson here that is echoed throughout other posts: You cannot install CM11 with CWM Recover less than 6.0.4!
