Okay, I'm trying to update to 7740 using ansar's (again) but Zune keeps bugging me to update to the latest HTC drivers . How in the world do I make those annoying HTC Driver updates go away?
Wow, 191 views and not a single response. Okay, is there a reg edit maybe that will fix the disappearing keyboard vs having to update maybe?
Install hd2 tool kit if you haven't already done so, this will reinstall your hd2 drivers in case you're missing something.

In any case, it probably is giving that message because you are missing some htc driver or corrupt.

use ansars U2M8107.xap. tap on the donotu2htc and then dev unlock / exit then use connection setup and then restart your device (soft reset - power off power on)then go to your pc and delete the relationship between the pc and phone. reset your pc, or try to uninstall reinstall your Zune and try again, and on the pairing beetween pc and phone it should skip the update. because the U2M8107 changes the firmware slightly, it changes only the name to a more updated version, so that zune thinks it is up to date!

Thanks but all it did was kill my 3G like always. Luckily I have a back up this time.
do you have acces to the registry? you could find the settings of where the phone model, celular operator, bla bla bla and such things are, there stays also the frimware revision, just find the next firmware what should be after that update, type that in and zune should not ask any more because it thinks then you have this update
you are getting notified to update on the DFT rom?
or have you not flashed that/not on it anymore?

hi all,
I bought a samsung omnia 7 from ebay and it's got the 7003 build.
the nodo update didn't came till now. I've tried all the posibilities to update to nodo , but no luck. i've observed that most of the posibilities to update are for the build 7004. is there a way to install build 7004 on my phone?
thanks.
Did you try the special upgrade tool Microsoft just released a few days ago? I thought that was designed for this purpose.
check out the stick thread named "get nodo right now" or something like that
worked for my omnia
i've tried every posibility except the rom tools and still no update.
i cannot do anything with the method from thread "get nodo right now" because when I start the command application I select a language and after that the applications exits without any message.
Do you think that if I install another ROM with this method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973420 .. it will help me?

You are in a much better position than the rest of us 7003ers. Fortunately, there have been Omnia 7 rom leaks so you should be able to easily flash any 7004 rom; from there you can go on to NoDo with minimum problems.
i will try to flash a new rom and see what hapens..
Thanks
i've tried to flash a rom with the WP7 downloaded application but it says "not a retail device".
any solutions?

Hello.. seems I am in the same boat with a HTC device I purchased off ebay.
After some googling it looks like ive got a pre release build.
Microsoft support tool released a couple of days ago does not detect the phone.
The command line update tool stops running after selecting the phone language.
Trying to work out some work around to fool the software in thinking there is a newer build on the phone.. somewhere in the registry?

I'm having the exact same problem with a Samsung Focus.
-Bought it on eBay, and don't live in the US - so I can't bring it to an AT&T store.
-Won't detect updates via Zune
-Windows Phone Support Tool doesn't recognise that the phone is in the "connect to PC" state
This really blows. To top if off, there are no ROMs available for the Focus yet. I think I'll just have to wait until they become available.

Yes! I'm finally off 7003, thanks to the ROM posted in the Focus developer section. I initially viewed it with scepticism as nobody else had success with it, but then again, nobody else was having the same problem as me - a Focus stuck on 7003.
My phone must be a developer device. I didn't even know that developer Focuses (Focii?) existed. The ROM shows up in WP7 Downloader as "WP7_ENGINEER", and users with retail devices couldn't flash with that image.

Is there still a way for it?
I'm waiting for this too.
To edit the sideload limits on mango beta
Hi guys.
For HTC phones:
1)you'll have to restore to NoDo.
2)use the CustClear.provxml + HTC Connection Setup method
reeg's thread details the steps.
Just make sure that after you download htc connection setup from the marketplace, you run it once too.
cheers!
But anyway, Zune will restore to its original value not long after that.
If you have mango unlocked already you can just run the provxml I have in one of my later posts. With HTC connection setup within mango.

asking.... who got aanswers....?
Does it by any chance delete the provxml file *before* executing all the commands in it? If so, you could put two copies of the file on your phone, and have the "live" one (CustClear) copy and rename the "backup" one to the live name. That only works if the file is deleted before its commands are excuted though - which probably isn't the case.
So does this work if I have an officially developer unlocked nodo device? I am currently running mango developer unlocked officially as well but I would like to have the sideload limit removed, and from what I'm reading I would need to basically restore back to NoDo and then place the provxml file using touchxplorer since I cannot side load anything in mango since I have reached the limit already and it also seems like touchxplorer is not working in mango either?
Btw I have an HTC Arrive with Sprint which is CDMA, does the provxml hack work on CDMA phones?

Not yet. I had a long battle with it, you can search for my posts on here.
It is all about the htc connection database for carriers. I couldn't fake one properly and never got past that message. Trying other carriers hosed my data connection.

so you are saying the provxml hack using the HTC Connection Setup to unlock mango and remove the sideload limit doesnt work on the HTC Arrive? I already have a developer account and can unlock my HTC Arrive on both nodo and mango, and in nodo all homebrew apps work and I can load as many as I want by editing the sideload limit registry key, the only thing I need is to remove the sideload limit on mango as per this thread (dont really need the unlock as I can do it officially with my developer account but apparently it keeps Zune from resetting the max sideload limit back down):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1150633
I just dont want to have to downgrade back to nodo install touchexplorer, htc connection setup, and the provxml and then upgrade back to Mango and run the connection setup so that it removes the sideload limit. Basically what I need is a way to run TouchXplorer in Mango without installing it first in Nodo

Yes I am definitely interested in Mango being unlocked for all homebrew, but what I really want to know is if I downgrade back to Nodo, officially developer unlocked, install touchxplorer and HTC Connection setup with the provxml then update back to Mango and run HTC connection setup, will I still have the sideload limit on my HTC Arrive? or does the provxml remove the sideload limit and unlock work on the HTC Arrive?

provxml does not work for arrive. get it to work and PLEASE DO SHARE HOW! I posted a link above that detailed how far I got trying to get it to work on the arrive.
the only way for us sprint users is to wait for the homebrew hack to enable reg edits again, etc.
This is such a bummer, I really just need that sideload limit removed as three apps is pretty much nothing and going back and forth between NoDo and Mango just to sideload is too much of a hassel. Hopefully someone can solve this soon. I wonder if there are any other HTC Apps that access the registry that work on the Arrive maybe with some sort of xml file as well that we can edit the same way as the HTC Connection Setup?
let me clear on this.
provxml and htc connection method is WORKS on 74xx and 76xx but NOT on my 7712
ive tried this method third times, gotta roll back to nodo each time i tried.
i also need to get rid of this sideload limit. desperately.

Then you probably aren't doing something correctly, because it works just fine for me. Check whatever entries you are trying to edit, and try again.
Looks like someone posted the fix earlier as well.
Hello.
I cant update my HTC TITAN to 8773.
I have tried the disconnect trick and successfully update to 8112.
But when i to the trick again and get the update 8773 the update fails when Zune at step 7 fails to backup the phone. Nothing happans and finally the phone reboots and says that the update fails.
I have tried on 3 differint computors but no luck.
When i try the cab method (if I understoud it correctly) I also get failed.
Se print for error code. It says that I dont got any space on the phone but I have plenty 8gb free. I have also tried to reset ´phone to factory defaults but the same error. What to do?
Error:800705B4
And now when I open som installed appz on the phone nothing happens, only get a black screen and I have to press the "back" buttom in order to get the the program to start correctly.

Thx for the tip, I have tried it but there is still no change when i Try to install update after that I have installed this fix.
Still the phone dosent backup the phone in step 7 and then restarts and says update fail. Any other tip?
The only thing I can think of doing is to try and roll back to the previous version via Zune, No guarantees though, Sorry I cannot help other than that :-(
Is your phone a Branded Carrier handset? ie: at&t ? I would imagine if it is then at&t will have their own version of the update which of course you will have to wait for them to push it to your phone.

Now that's a bummer, Strange there is no option to revert back to 8112 or even 8107, Did you hard reset after 8112? maybe worth a try.

clear storage is just about the sdcard as far as i know. Other way is to factory reset in the android settings under "storage" or "security"
Just in case that will not help we can think about further steps to reset the phone. If its a used phone i CLEARLY recommend to reset or better reflash it bacause you cant if the last owner installed any malicious software on the phone.

Reflash means to reinstall the operating system (Android) on the phone. Compared to install windows on a home computer. It needs some more experience flashing a firmware but i can assisst you.
The point is that it seems as someone modified the phone on his own or the phone is from a different region/country. Just to be clear. Why did you buy a locked phone?
To know how to act pls do as followed:
Turn off phone. Go into "BOOTLOADER" by pressing "Vol down + Power" for some seconds. It will show some info. Please take a photo and upload it. then go to section "SIMLOCK" and take a photo too.
With this informations i can easiest tell you if its modified and how to get rid of the lock.

I did not buy it, it was given to me by my youngest son, he has learning difficulties and I do not think he knew what he was buying? And I think he tried accessing it until it completely locked up? It has been in a drawer for two years and came to light when he recently moved house, he also took out the SD card and misplaced it.
I hope I have done this right

you will also need a working usb cable and of course your computer

Install the driver and Make sure HTC sync (in case you installed it before) is closed. Start the phone into bootloader and select "fastboot" while connected to your computer. It should show up "fastboot usb" then you can run the RUU ( the big file you downloaded ) it will flash the stock firmware on your phone. Keep in mind that all personal data will be cleared during the flash process. If it runs successfully you should not face trouble anymore. If issues remain just tell me. Its important that the firmware update is NOT INTERRUPTED in any way, as it could make the device temporarily unusable. This should work fine for you, but of course its in YOUR RESPONCE what happens to the phone. So just go on, if you're sure how to act.

I can not get my computer to run the HTC Driver programme? I think a virus programme or firewall is stopping it opening?
It's NO VIRUS for sure. You can cut internet connection and deactivate antivirus to solve it and still be safe. After installing you can reactivate AV.
To proceed:
You are running a windows computer? Have installed any syncing software e.g. Samsung KIES, HTC Sync, Blackberry Chimera? If yes, uninstall it pls.
I ask bacause i NEVER had issues with installing teh HTC driver. Does it show up any error message?

First Download BOTH files please. That means to save them to your computer.
Run the HTCdriver4.2.exe as it provides the needed drivers. It will tell you that drivers have been installed successfully when finished.
Then you can boot the phone to "bootloader" and select "Fastboot" connect it to your computer and it will show "fastboot USB". Keep the phone connected like that.
Run the RUU_Buzz_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.22.405.1_Radio_13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_160191_signed.exe
It is self explaing BUT to be safe: Check the box "I read and understand it" - press next - Check "steps done" and press next.
NOW the programm will start flashing the firmware (Operating System + some other needed files).
Once finished the programm will tell you "successfull ...!
You should be able to boot Android and everything should be resetted and set back to stock.
Then you can try if you still face any issues with the simcard.

Hello,
After a failed Windows 10 upgrade attempt, my HTC 8x was working fine however after few days I attempted to soft reset it and all hell broke loose! Its stuck in reset gears loop ever since.
Note: Being a non-poster member (so far), I'm not allowed to post outside links so unable to post screenshots!

I have tried the below however not successful, any help is appreciated...
1. Attempt to hard reset by holding down the volume down key while powering on the device > Result: Doesnt show the Exclamation ( ! ) symbol
2. Windows Phone Recovery tool doesnt detect the phone > choose my phone was not detected > Start the phone in boot loader mode by holding both volume up and down keys while powering on > It goes to boot loader mode however reports "Software package is not found on server"!

3. RUU_ACCORD_WR_GDR3_00_MR_HTCCN_CHS_CT_4.13.1401.03_0.21.70_RETAIL_ENC_RELEASE.exe and similar packages > Old package error
http: //s22.postimg.org/gfcdp55s1/NBFError.jpg
4. HTCDeviceInfo.exe successfully detects the device however HTCRomUpdater fails to flash .NBH file http: //s18.postimg.org/5kpf6h70p/HTCRom_Flashor_Error.jpg
5. FFUTool.exe doesnt detect the device! http: //s2.postimg.org/52daia255/FFUTool_Failure.jpg
6. Thor2 doesnt decte the device http: //s4.postimg.org/ei60y1b1p/Thor2_Error.jpg
Is there ANYTHING else I can do to get this device working? Or buying a new phone is the only solution?
Fixed!
I was able to fix the device using NSU with original firmware FFU.
Where did you find?

I am well aware of that. Do you guys think we will ever be able to install W10 on our phones. Contacted HTC support and they said that the 8X will not be compatible with W10 because of some hardware limitations, but they were not willing to tell specifics. What are the chances that we will be able to still install W10 by unofficial means?

Can you maybe go into a bit more detail on what you had to do to get the original firmware on the device? I'm having the same problem after getting the update from MS today.

How did you do it, when I use NSU it doesn't want to recognise my 8x
The fact is that the update was sent to ALL HTC 8X in the world. Mine installed the update during the night without my consent.
Microsoft will probably blame Skynet for trying to terminate all and each 8x there is.
Well...Mine is broken now. I'll be waiting for official fixes.

My HTC 8x routine now:
1- Turn On.
2- Show message about the unsuccessful update.
3- Play the alarm (set to play daily at 7 am)
4- Turn Off.
5- GoToAndPlay(1) hahahahahahahha
Spent hours to restore some other rom, only got "INVALID VENDER ID" (sic) by the ROMUpdateUtility. My phone completed the update, seems to work fine, just reboots randomly after a couple of minutes. Had to setup wifi after a hard reset, otherwise apps were missing, including the Settings app. And the letters are tiny. This is sad and hilarious. Also, camera is gonsky.

I think you misunderstood me, no roms worked. There are many on the internet, even here on this forum. There seems to be an id in the phone and it does not match with the package.
Tried these with my t-mobile branded EU phone, all invalid.

Also talked with HTC live support, they have no idea of course.
Windows Phone Recovery Tool detects the phone, but can't offer any ROM.

Those links are all offline -> 404 error
What about this topic the procedure should be similar to flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2137556
it has link to official rom HTC_Europe_2.00.401.03 which is at http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=Accord

My phone does not want to recognize the image files on a pen drive when I hold the cam button. It just boots Windows normally.
EDIT: Managed to buy an y-cable and the rom flashed from the pen drive! Back to 8.1 again.
