hi all,
I bought a samsung omnia 7 from ebay and it's got the 7003 build.
the nodo update didn't came till now. I've tried all the posibilities to update to nodo , but no luck. i've observed that most of the posibilities to update are for the build 7004. is there a way to install build 7004 on my phone?
thanks.
Did you try the special upgrade tool Microsoft just released a few days ago? I thought that was designed for this purpose.
check out the stick thread named "get nodo right now" or something like that
worked for my omnia
i've tried every posibility except the rom tools and still no update.
i cannot do anything with the method from thread "get nodo right now" because when I start the command application I select a language and after that the applications exits without any message.
Do you think that if I install another ROM with this method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973420 .. it will help me?

You are in a much better position than the rest of us 7003ers. Fortunately, there have been Omnia 7 rom leaks so you should be able to easily flash any 7004 rom; from there you can go on to NoDo with minimum problems.
i will try to flash a new rom and see what hapens..
Thanks
i've tried to flash a rom with the WP7 downloaded application but it says "not a retail device".
any solutions?

did you were in the same situation? build 7003?
what update microsoft just made?
Hello.. seems I am in the same boat with a HTC device I purchased off ebay.
After some googling it looks like ive got a pre release build.
Microsoft support tool released a couple of days ago does not detect the phone.
The command line update tool stops running after selecting the phone language.
Trying to work out some work around to fool the software in thinking there is a newer build on the phone.. somewhere in the registry?

I'm having the exact same problem with a Samsung Focus.
-Bought it on eBay, and don't live in the US - so I can't bring it to an AT&T store.
-Won't detect updates via Zune
-Windows Phone Support Tool doesn't recognise that the phone is in the "connect to PC" state
This really blows. To top if off, there are no ROMs available for the Focus yet. I think I'll just have to wait until they become available.

Yes! I'm finally off 7003, thanks to the ROM posted in the Focus developer section. I initially viewed it with scepticism as nobody else had success with it, but then again, nobody else was having the same problem as me - a Focus stuck on 7003.
My phone must be a developer device. I didn't even know that developer Focuses (Focii?) existed. The ROM shows up in WP7 Downloader as "WP7_ENGINEER", and users with retail devices couldn't flash with that image.

I've now moved from 7003 to 7390 thanks to the ROM flash procedure. It worked flawlessly.
Thanks so much for sharing the ROM, PavelX1!

1. The Internet Sharing Option works and it broadcasts a signal I can connect to on my laptop. However, I do not have that feature on my plan. It takes me to a verizon plan to purchase the feature.
2. How can I test this? When I installed it, I didn't have to go through Verizon activation, if that's what you mean. It also has Root Manager installed, and XAP Deployer.
3. When I enter ##PST#, the dialer screen just clears.
Another Feature many will be happy about: Xbox Avatar Live Tile works!
Let me know if you want anything else tested!

So I installed this rom and it's working PERFECTLY so far. The one thing is.... I'm getting prompted by the phone to install an update... should I do it or not?
Since ##PST# does not work (dialer clears away without bringing up the service tools app), I suspect that the programming is broken on this ROM like it was in the old Spark_W roms.
People who flash over already activated phones will be fine, but anyone who tries to do *228 and option 1 will likely unactivate their phone and need to activate an old phone before reactivating the trophy.
TheXev got around this in his ROMs, you may want to talk to him to see how to correct this in yours.

Hi. Please could somebody help me. I have a UK model from orange. It's now unlocked but has orange bloatware. I have searched the forums for a debrand method but only found one, and that only works with win xp.
Is there any way to unbrand this phone with windows 7. Orange did not support this phone and it's still stuck on android 2.2.2.

Follow this on the official LG site: http://www.lg.com/uk/support-mobile/lg-LGP920 , and go to the tab "software update".
But instead of just updating your phone do this: Click on User/Support (above) then emergency mode, insert your IMEI and click on check
?
It didn't work i'm afraid. What's really odd is that the phone is on froyo 2.2.2 and the OTA update from the phone says there's no update available. Yet the lg update tool tells me an update is available yet after it has downloaded and about to 'install' it stops and says that the update cannot continue because a 'fatal error' has occured ?
Very odd. I'm guessing the orange bloatware is the problem. I HATE orange !
Edit. Ok, i just installed all the flashing tools to my pc (win 7) But when i open flash tool a window appears saying 'lg usb/parallel key is not detected. i'm also asked for a password and id ?

I downloaded everything but there was no crack included for the flashtool and no .dll file to enter into the flashtool ? it certainly looks incomplete so did not help at all.
Do i really have to keep entering an image verification everytime i need to reply on my own thread ? Seems so daft.

Copy the indicated file over the original as instructed or use 1.2 if you want. You also have to run the installer before using it...It might be a good idea to run it in xp sp3 compatibility mode.

I've now tried all methods and nothing works. The furthest i have got so is to hit the yellow start button on the flash tool, but the port does not become ready. I have followed all instructions to the letter.
Recheck step 1 details carefully. Be sure antivirus and Defender are off when downloading and decompressing. It won't start until drivers are installed correctly.
You should see the devices in device manager with no 'blinking' of the omap device, and LG CDMA USB SERIAL, on which you change the port number to 41. Then you are ready to flash.
That part is fiddly.
I'd like to go back to 8.0. I have O2 branded firmware, updated to 8.1 by the dev app means and that all went fine. However subsequently I've tried to use the Nokia Software Recovery programme to roll back to 8.0 and I just get an 'InternalError' message as soon as it starts to try and download the 8.0 firmware. I've also tried recovering by flashing the firmware for O2 via the software flashing guide on XDA but again it fails to download. I've made sure that Windows Firewall is off so it's not blocking the app.
Is there an issue with Nokia's servers or am I just doing something wrong?
My understanding - before I even updated to 8.1 - was that (unofficially) you could roll back quite easily as long as you have a PC and a bit of time available.

Yes. But still call quality is bad. I have updated my 1020 to 8.1 again because the call quality was again bad for some calls.
The probable solution is a volume booster, or a jailbreak. Something we will not see in wp.

I am well aware of that. Do you guys think we will ever be able to install W10 on our phones. Contacted HTC support and they said that the 8X will not be compatible with W10 because of some hardware limitations, but they were not willing to tell specifics. What are the chances that we will be able to still install W10 by unofficial means?

The fact is that the update was sent to ALL HTC 8X in the world. Mine installed the update during the night without my consent.
Microsoft will probably blame Skynet for trying to terminate all and each 8x there is.
Well...Mine is broken now. I'll be waiting for official fixes.

Spent hours to restore some other rom, only got "INVALID VENDER ID" (sic) by the ROMUpdateUtility. My phone completed the update, seems to work fine, just reboots randomly after a couple of minutes. Had to setup wifi after a hard reset, otherwise apps were missing, including the Settings app. And the letters are tiny. This is sad and hilarious. Also, camera is gonsky.

I think you misunderstood me, no roms worked. There are many on the internet, even here on this forum. There seems to be an id in the phone and it does not match with the package.
Tried these with my t-mobile branded EU phone, all invalid.

Also talked with HTC live support, they have no idea of course.
Windows Phone Recovery Tool detects the phone, but can't offer any ROM.

Those links are all offline -> 404 error
What about this topic the procedure should be similar to flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2137556
it has link to official rom HTC_Europe_2.00.401.03 which is at http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=Accord

My phone does not want to recognize the image files on a pen drive when I hold the cam button. It just boots Windows normally.
EDIT: Managed to buy an y-cable and the rom flashed from the pen drive! Back to 8.1 again.
download and extract the 7z file below then follow the step....
Wow. This is the neatest walk-through I ever saw.
I had unsuccessfully tried another instructions (not in XDA though) and left the work half way as I didn't understand the next step.
Thank you mate. You made my day. My 1020 now runs on Win10.
Hello!
I thought first, wow how cool and so simple ... Until after the flash shows the Bluescreen of death!! Yes, i have everything done correctly, sure. Fortunately, i was able to recover my phone with the recovery tool.
What is the Problem?
OK now i come to the rooting and the bootloader is unlocked!! But after rooting the following error message appears:

After updating I got some 20 megapixel camera.
But, after factory resetting (which is a recommended step) it went back to original megapixels. I could also install and use the Lumia camera.
So, now I have a 1020 with Windows 10, with 41 MP (or 38 MP in photo) camera.

thank you
thank you for the good feedback
I got an old OS build after updating to W10, 10586.107. The phone says there is no more update available.
Is the 8.1 --> 10 update made like this, or am I supposed to be able to run the latest W10 OS build on my 1020?
Nobody? Please tell me what build you are on if you have done this update.
thats the update for lumia 1020...if you want to have a higher version try enroll at insider program..

So
1) Can you continue getting updates thereafter using the Insider fast ring or will you lose it on next update ?
2) How stable or fast/slow is the device soon after.

ryzel, firstly I want to thank you for your guide. I am very, very grateful! W10 is now running smoothly on my 1020.
However, I have tried all three alternatives in Insider. No update is available. I am very happy as it is, but it would be nice with a newer version. Can you give me a hint on what to do next?
did you already format your phone?if yes power of your phone...press camera key and connect it two your pc or laptop then the storage for main folder will be read..just like the part where you edit the registry.do that again....the latest update for windiws 10 w/out enrolling in insider was 14393...i think you can get that using that method...
