Thanks guys!

Both mike1986 and I were working on this in parallel, so we figured we'd both release our work. There are minor differences between the releases (root vs non-rooted), so choose accordingly.

Awesome! I always like to have a stock rom handy, ICS is icing on the cake

I have run the ota update zip on top of the 1.50.401.1 RUU before this was posted as i prefare to keep stock. Everything is fine except i am having trouble gaining root.
After several attempts i managed to flash superuser successfully but none of my apps are able to gain root access.
Is there something different included in this update to prevent root access or have you any idea how i might be able to remedy this.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey guys. This is awesome. Thanks to you all very much.
Question. I reverted back to stock 1.50.401.1 and remain s-off. Must I reinstall a custom recovery to flash this? I've flashed an ICS rom in the past so know about the firmware etc..
If I can flash firmware, then Rom using pg58img option that'll be sweet, Or must I use custom recovery again and superwipe also?
Thanks Again guys

[Q] difference between ruu and ota

i searched a bit but couldnt find a clear answer.. I read somewhere that when a dev posts a stock rooted rom based off an ota that it might not contain all the chipset and firmware updates that a ruu has.. just wondering what the main difference is between a ruu and an ota (other than obviously it comes over the air) and if its better to flash a ruu and root it rather than a pre rooted rom based on ota..
If I am correct it's that ruu is standalone full rom. Where ota is a addon for the 2.3.3 ROM.

thanks, but do you know if when a dev posts a stock rooted rom based on an ota if it contains all the upgrades and benefits that a ruu would

Most of them are based on the OTA as it was available before the ruu. I don't know if there is any difference between the quality.
anyone have any input? i was looking in insertcoin rom OP and noticed that the dev flashed the ruu and then wiped and flashed his own rom and now its faster
He re-did the ROM based on the full RUU as opposed to a patched 1.35 ROM with the OTA file applied. It's cleaner and should be better as a result
thank you, ok so if i just want to go back to stock would i be better off flashing the tmo us 2.3.4 ruu when its available or installing one of the 2.3.4 stock rooted roms that came out after the ota since they are based on the ota?
I'd flash the 1.29.531.2 RUU, then get the OTA files when presented with them

No stock options for you there... you'll have to use a custom ROM with ultra smooth rosie tweak to eliminate 3D
As I know there is no turning back when you unlock your device

Hi there, are you missing the sense interface?
it all depends how you got to CM7 in the first place, which I'm guessing required:
1. S-OFF + custom recovery
2. Root
3. Installed custom rom
To go back you need to do this:
1. Download the *stock* rom RUU files for your phone. This allows you to get the phone back to its original stock form.
See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002506
2. Change the bootloader. This allows the RUU to overwrite it with the stock bootloader and get it back to S-ON. ENG HBoot is a good one that allows overwriting.
See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113820
3. Once you've changed the bootloader, flash the stock RUU over it, which should automatically overwrite the bootloader, S-OFF, recovery and ROM.

i think because the programm says that its already on that version...
what should i do now?
when i installed an old android revolution hd version with gingerbread, there is a bootloop... i think because of the wrong firmware package... but i dont know which fits to that gingerbread rom

get the matching rom from this thread
here
the matching rom would be
RUU_Pyramid_HTC_<country/carrier>_<firmware version>_Radio_<radio>_release_<xxxx>_signed
EDIT:
oops sorry you want to know which firmware supports gingerbread right?
brief description of each firmware:
3.32 Unlocked is the latest/stable release ICS 4.0.3 FW for Sensation (sense 3.6 Version) that has the Unlocked bootloader (posted by Mike1986)
3.30 Unlocked is ICS 4.0.3 FW for Sensation (sense 3.6 Version) that has the Unlocked bootloader (posted by Mike1986)
3.24 Unlocked is ICS 4.0.3 FW for Sensation (sense 3.6 Version) that has the Unlocked bootloader (posted by Mike1986)
3.12 is ICS 4.0.3 FW before that (Sense 3.5 Version)
1.17 This is the original Revolutionary 1.17.1111 Firmware with a completed Gingerbread Firmware v 1.45 package (Radio 10.14.9035.01_M)
Also the firmware thread
fclick here for firmwares
Hm i tried it but when i was on gingerbread and wanted to update with a RUU to a clean stock rom, EVERY RUU i tried was "Wrong" and wasnt working...
So i keept the stock ics rom, without superuser and s-off, but 4ext is still there....
so i think i have to keep it, it should "damage" my warranty , or am i wrong ?

[Q] Suitable Firmware for ICS and Sense 4.0

Hi, can someone please tell me what firmware should I flash for installing ICS and Sense 4.0 based ROMs?? Because I am hoping to flash OrDroid ROM and is really confused about the adequate firmware for it. Can I use the mike's unlocked 3.32 firmware, which specifies that it's for Sense 3.6? or is there any specific firmware that I should flash?
I am still on the stock GB ROM..so this is the first time I am gonna flash a Custom ROM to my phone!
I would really appreciate a prompt reply!
Thanks in advance!

Yeah Mike's firmware would do.
No need to update your firmware for sense 4 roms they are ported to from HTC one s/x so current latest firmware would suffice.

put the rom zip in the root of the sdcard and flash it from recovery
if you are S-ON i suggest you to install 4ext recovery(if you don't have it yet) and enable smartflash berfore flashing
also it works only with 3.32fw and 3.33fw version
but before everything do a nandroid backup first

I got 4ext N S-off, i mean viper is use JB and works better, for kernel and ril etc every rom has recommended. I search here and i think this are :
Device: HTC Sensation Z710e
Bootloader: HBoot 1.27.1100 - Revolutionary S-OFF - Root - Super CID
ROM: ViperS 1.6.0 | Android 4.0.4 ICS | Sense 4.1
Kernel: Bricked-3.0-v1.36-ics
Firmware: 3.33.401.6
Radio: 11.76A.3504.00P_11.24A.3504.31_M
Ril: HTC-RIL_4.0.0037HMQ
Recovery: 4ext Recovery Touch 1.0.0.5 RC8
not the best but most of these i got just not sure for Radio and ril. That way i looking for guide .

anything else???
edit: i just see the link thanks... i'm going to flash now ...
All you need to do is make sure you have an unlocked bootloader, s-off, it's, 4ext recovery. Once you have all that just drop the rom on ur sd, go into recovery and install the rom from zip. If u need instructions on how to s-off, unlock ur bootloader or anything else just ask.
