hey guys my upgrade is due now but i was going to wait til the sg3 comes out but that seem sooo far away so i've decided to upgrade my phone. i currently have the sgs i9000 and was wondering what is the best phone to get next and i dont mind waiting till April... the choices that i have in my mind is the HTC One X or the Sony Xperia S on the Samsung Galaxy S2 but i feel that SGS2 will be outdated in few months time...the HTC stands out cause the quad cores but im not sure if im just buying into a gimmick....if u guy could suggest what i should get that would be great or what you guys will be getting? thank you in advance
Well if I had to chose now I would go for the Galaxy Note. I just love the screensize. But if you want to wait. Quad-core phones are coming.
And then there is the HTC endeavor...
Huawei Ascend D Quad.
They presented it yesterday at the MWC. It gonna be the most awesome phone ever
Like Rapydax said quad core CPU coming with 28nm technology with better performance and new GPU.
thanks guy for you input ive been reading alot of things from MWC and there good things to come the HTC One X is the endeavor and as for Huawei Ascend D Quad.... i never heard of that company before so bit weary on that front....the galaxy note sort of reminds me of the dell streak lol but i love about samsung is that it plays any format of videos
Apparently the HTC One X will only be dual core in the US because theres an issue with AT&T's LTE hardware. Bummer

I Currently use the HTC Touch Pro 2, but i want to change to Android.
i've done my research but i can't find a good GSM Android phone with a Keyboard.
Can I please get some help in the matter?
Thank you
Alejandro
Are you looking for high end mid range or cheap?
Hey, thanks for answering, I'm looking for the best I can get.
Now I have the HTC touch pro 2
the HTC Desire Z? Coming soon, was announced the other day !
HTC Desire Z or, if you absolutely can't wait, Motorla Milestone
Htc desire Z (Out october) or The motorola Milestone 2 (Out this month so dont get the first one )
UHm... thank you!!!
now question, why wait for the HTC when the motorola is available now and has 1000mhz processor instead of 800?
it seems like a better deal, what am i not seeing?
I guess Motorola quality and support is less than HTC's is

although the desire z is only 800mhz it uses the 2nd generation of quallcomm snapdragon technology, its said to be nearly twice as fast as the standard desire that also has a 1000mhz cpu, it also has a much improved gpu over the first generation of snapdragon
Ok then, I decided to go now with the Motorola MIlestone 2, but can't find it anywhere to buy!!! just this random website that was selling it for 699 dollars...
any thoughts?
It isn't released yet It's coming soon
Expansys
Clove £350
Assuming of course your buying from the UK. As already said, its not out yet.
Its a real shame though as in my opinion, the Samsung Galaxy S PRO is the daddy but there are some serious issues with the non-keyboard Galaxy S. I hope that when (if) the Pro S gets released here these are resolved. The Samsung Galaxy S seems to be rated as far superiour GFX and processor on many websites compared to the current range of HTC and still rate just slightly above the Motorola and the new to be launched Z and Desire HD. Its important to note though that these "people" are only guessing and comparing against what they think the new chips will do so it could be inaccurate - until a device is really launched, no one of us can really tell its true performance (hardware alone does not do this).
Like you, i'm in desperate need of a Qwerty phone and sadly, there seems to be no real phone for me. I want a 4+ inch screen with ALL the bells and whistles and am happy to pay for it!
I keep searching in vain .... I think the nearest so far *MAY* be the Dell Lightining..... maybe...
edit: sorry, forgot to say that the Dell is WP7. Android still doesn't support Exchange properly (DYOR, im fed up with explaining). Having said that, I keep reading that WP7 will offer full Exchange support but until its released, won't truley know.
In my experience, do not rush into buying hardwares. Unless your rich that is. Just wait a couple of days after the release and read the reviews or go play with the thing first hand.
On that note, you should probably get a Desire Z.
Sooooooooo I see the Desire Z is already on Ebay, any ideas when the milestone 2 will be?
I want to buy this phone Asap, all the reviews and info seem to point at the Milestone like the better choice
Hello,
I thought posting it here would offer non biased opinions by people, since I'm going be asking that I'm trying to decide between galaxy tab or DHD or nexus s. I'm having a hard time deciding, i love htc devices but sammy's tab and nexus s seem very good also. So, I'm looking for your opinion on this, I know the specs of each device.
Wait either a tablet or a phone? Are you planning on using the tablet as a phone or would you have a regular one for use?
Also, I would say to wait because of all of the new phones just announced at CES and with MWC right around the corner, amazing things are going to be happening very, very soon.
But to answer your question now, what are you going to mostly use it for? Are you planning on hacking or... ?

Hi,
Google Nexus uses Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS but Samsung and DHD are using older version. The processor speed of Desire HD is much better. DHD has 8MP camera and other are using 5MP. Comparatively, I recommend DHD tablet.
So, I end up getting the sammy tab. The 7inch screen would be awesome to watch stuff on and it owns the ifail(ipad) in all ways.
Well im glad you like it, but FWIW, the ipad os the best tablet out right now.
It isn't just selling because it was made by apple; I have one myself and I love it to death for what it does.
Captivate 2.2.1 Paragon
Okay well, I'm looking into grabbing one of these two phones but I want some your opinions.
I don't plan on rooting or doing any of that stuff as I dont really understand how, and I don't want to risk bricking my phone.
I know the Evo 3D has a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and the nexus s 4g on sprint with a single core 1 GHz processor so they are both great phones and can run very fast and smooth.
My question is, which phone do you guys think is better? I just want a phone that will be worth getting on a 2 year contract for, and It has to be with sprint.
get the dual core. I don't know why it's so hard for people to see that, and not specifically speaking to you OP, but I've seen so many people get all hung up between different phones that aren't even in the same league! It's like picking a 7yo Intel Celeron vs a brand spanking new i5 or i7.
Yeah I thought about the Nexus S, but a lot of the features it is missing makes it a phone way behind its time. If someone is going to spend $200-$300 for a new device it should be innovative and well worth it.
I was debating the same question, but as lude219 said, there's really no comparison. It's just based on what you want in either phone. A similar discussion has been created here: http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f8/nexus-s-or-evo-3d-you-decide-52134/

Hi you guys,
I have a Samsung Captivate Glide (Bought it the first day it came out woot!)
Unfortunately, It's a very under developed device and I don't use the keyboard as much as I initially figured I would.
So I'm back in the market for a new android device. Preferably one with a strong developer community. ICS roms already running would be a big plus. I use the front camera a lot so thats a requirement.
Something with the best specs possible. I'm on AT&T so it'll need to be compatible with their network.
Thanks,
Kyle
P.S. My cappy glide is for sale on eBay if you're interested. http://bit.ly/zkiDqh
In the last Barcelona Mobile World Congress Alcatel presented a cheap but powerful device: Alcatel One Touch 995
For sure you cannot count on a strong support of developers, but they say it will be upgraded to ICS.

I think I'm going to get the HTC One X. I was reading about it the other day. Does anyone have an estimated release date?
I would wait for the release of the Galaxy S3 if you can hold on for that long, otherwise get a galaxy nexus i have one finding new roms all of the time and always pleanty of support from the dev community
So, my Samsung Galaxy S 24 month contract is ending in and I want to get a new phone in 2-3 months. SGS is great and fast phone (when CM7/9 is installed) but on stock it was ridiculous (on software level) + it only has 512MB ram.
I have been checking reviews of HTC One S and Sony Xperia S, while HTC seems to be much more powerful with it's Snapdragon S4, it lacks some features like 720p screen, NFC etc.
Couple of questions:
1.) Which one has better support for Cyanogenmod/AOKP roms?
2.) Is Snapdragon S3 really ~2 times slower (based on synthetic benchmarks) on normal use, I mean, is it capable of running latest software and games for 2 years like SGS hardware did?
3.) Is there any other model I should compare with these?
I would love to get HTC One XL (Snapdragon S4 + 720p screen) but that model will never come to Finland.
So which phone would you get?
Htc One x. There is like 20other threads jus loke this. You could have used them to get your answer
none of the 2.....now expects the galaxy s3

I say no to samsung for now...
EDIT: Samsung has probably the worst support for open source roms
Huawei Ascend D Quad?......HTC One S and Sony Xperia S have problems that do not justify the price paid
