Is there any possibility of having 2 ROMs running on inspire?
like we will choose which one to boot at the boot-screen?
http://lifehacker.com/5826050/how-to-dual-boot-multiple-roms-on-your-android-phone
BTw and not to be snarky, this has been covered to hades and back. Search dual boot Inspire.
You can install boot manager for free from the Market/Play Store. It installs the 2nd rom on your SD card and allows you to dual boot between the 2 roms.

after looking around i had to do it myself, here is a flashable zip of the droid pro boot animation, its a red eye with an x behind it. place in root of sd, flash via clockwork.
i made the zip because i wanted the boot animation on my droid x, but im running .595, and root explorer only force closes, so i couldnt put the simple version in data/local.
enjoy.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11997836/droidpro.zip
and here is a remixed version, bigger faster pro, followed by x boot
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11997836/remixed2.zip
again place in root of sd, flash w/ cwm
edit - here are a few more versions, all silent for now...
remix 3 is droid pro boot followed by droid x boot, fullscreen but droid x boot is no longer round because of it, its like stretched out
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11997836/rmx3.zip
remix 4 is droid pro boot followed by droid x droid logo animation
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11997836/rmx4.zip
and this is the one im using now, a fullscreen droid pro bootanimation
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11997836/mdpx.zip
and as an added bonus, 3 more i have
hr giger
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11997836/Spell_FullVersion_bootanimation.zip
hr giger with music

You can download both and keep both on your SD card, but whichever one you install in ClockworkMod will overwrite the old boot animation.

how would I add the DROOOIID start up sound? ApeX had a custom boot with the THX sound that had been wearing thin.

Crap I thought it was on there, I did so many versions and I know it was on at least one of them. Please stand by...
Okay I have 5 of them (check first post) none of them seem to say D R O I D but if I find or someone can send me the sound file I will make it so. Perhaps with a beat.

I have the file attached, though I dont think my question fits this thread really. lol What happened was I installed ApeX a while ago, and got tired of my boot. I installed your pro boot animation, but I want the stock startup shutdown sounds enabled again. Ill try at the apex thread.
You guys might want to check this out, it's a blue Droid Pro boot animation with "Droid" sound and you can also get a blue Motorola "M" boot logo replacement.
http://androidforums.com/droid-x-al...roid-pro-blue-boot-animation-droid-sound.html
here's the droid sound, worked over by myself a time or two, im about to drop it in a droid pro fullscreen bootanimation file you can flash cwm.

How do you apply the bootanimations? I am running leaked 2.3.3.
I am coming from Incredible and all the animations were "zip" files. I can not find the zip for this leak using root explorer

These go in the root of the sd card, and you install them using clockwork mod - install zip from sd card, then choose zip from sd card.
Droid 2 bootstrap works for gb, not droid x bootstrap.

At the risk of sounding stupid. Is the process the same across all android phones, meaning put in root of sd and change file name to "bootanimation"?

No, they can be named anything as long as they say .zip
The ones named bootanimation are a bit different and go in data/local. I prefer the zips on the sd.

Downloaded 2 of these and saved both in download folder on sd. After installing from zip in CW I get no boot animation at all for both versions I tried. Could I have corrupt downloads?

I downloaded the blue one that someone had posted with the blue m but I don't get the" droid" noise? Does anybody know how I can get that?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
The blue one I posted is made to give sound specifically for GB......did you install on Froyo? If so you need to put the sound file in system/media........currently it's installed to system/media/audio/notifications, it's called Droid.ogg.

Wow, never knew it was possible! We can actually use more than one ROM at a time! This is faster and better than NANDroid restores! IT makes a copy of the ROM on your SD card, you can have up to 5!
SO you can simply switch back and forth using it as a normal ROM without having to do backups/wipe between switching!
it creates a partition on the SD card for the ROM(s). booting etc, is as simple is normal etc
Our Device is officially supported! Anyone tried it yet?
Dual Boot is just a great app...only ics rom is not currently supported

Wow was thinking about this, since I am dual booting Windows and Ubuntu on my laptop. But never thought it is implemented for our phones. Thanks for the info!
Have been using it for some time now, works great with CM7 roms, MIUI works good too but never boots back to the main ROM from MIUI, have to always flash the boot image saved by boot manager via recovery to come back. Tried sense roms during the early stages, had problems, but that was version 1, haven't tried sense roms lately.
Have reaper setup on SD, haven't used it though as a daily ROM.
Good way to preview a ROM without actually wiping anything.

just purchased the app ,will report back on findings, trying the asop ics first

Hey man, been using this but I got no luck. Boot takes so long that I have to remove battery (I know, I know, it's bad) just to boot back so I can restore my backup. Contacted dev and says that I have to check force large boot. Is that also your case?

Yes, as of the latter versions, force large boot img has to be ticked, otherwise it gets stuck at HTC logo.

Encountered it a while back in 2011 when envy became an issue (CWM mods natively multiboot on my wife's SE X8). Too many issues with my favorite ROMs (Virtuous & MIUI) made it a no-go for me. Nice to know there's renewed interest in it. Especially from a champ like you. Does that mean we'll see more ROMs with native support for multiboot (had to mod some ROMs on the X8 to make them work)?
Will try soon
i will try this app as soon as i can Looking forward to it! Now i just have to downgrade HBOOT...
can we load multiple os in android phone with dual boot just like as pc?
yes you can. hd2 is good example
yes. but definitely wont work with just any phone.
best example is the almighty htc hd2.
There's a multi boot app, which allows you to boot and switch between roms on your SD card.
It doesn't work with all phones.

wow, I shocked!
I thing it depends on the kernel and the recovery. For example, siyah kernel supports multi boot

Is there a way to choose between 2 or more different ROMs while starting the device?
Kind of. I know you can dual boot. I did it on my evo. I think it is a paid app in the store. Google dual booting on android and you should find it. You don't choose the ROM on boot though, you choose it from the app and then can boot into multiple ROMs, then when you reboot it puts you in that rom you last chose
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire2 using xda app-developers app
Usually its from a modified kernel .

I would love to have multiple roms on my HTC EVO 3D gsm I read some where that I could boot up to 10 roms :good: but unfortunately I couldn't find any step by step instructions for this process any help will be appreciated...
Not sure there's is a way, but I know you can just alternate through some nandroid backups, but the can be a bit of space hog on your sd card...
