Friends,
I am not going to use fancy words. This post is a simple but heartfelt request to you all.
As we are aware that Dhiru is involved in getting ICS to our device. He has been doing this on a device borrowed from his friend. But, the development has been discontinued for the lack of device.
ICS is currently in Alpha 2 stage and is very usable. We need to get the development restarted as soon as possible.
So I would request each one of you to donate towards acquiring a I9003 set for Dhiru.
Initially I would request you all to pledge a certain donation amount. Once the target is reached, we can start collecting the money or transferring directly to Dhiru's paypal a/c.
I will keep updating the OP with the pledged amount.
I will Update this post with further details soon.
P.s. Please some one pm me the current price for I9003 in India.
10 euros for me.
As I`ve wrote in the CM9 thread I think that can be a good think to try to grow new devs by sharing information as much possible.
I'm silently following the CM9 thread by long time and I'm happy to donate 10 euros to Dhiru.
I will donate 5 euros. Thanks ganesh. Thanka dhiru. Thanks you all

I really appreciate your initiative and your concern, but as of now I am a bit busy with my work and I would not be able to provide quality time on the development.
There are quite a few limitations as of now in terms of driver compatibility for which TI has to release new drivers which might take time since they are showing more preference to OMAP4 at the moment. So unless we get some new drivers, we won't be having much of a progress.
Let's wait till the drivers are released so that we could have some hope on getting stuff to work properly. Till then maybe codeworkx would be done with his SGS2 and would preside over the development. His experience is what matters the most.
Thank you again.
I.am ready to donate

I guess that drivers are needed, but you will also need resources...
I'm ready to donate.
Dhiru i suggest you take the donation and by galaxy sl and start working on ics . Leave the camera aside because we don't know whether we will ever get ics drivers for camera.
So i suggest you take care on other things and make ics

The drivers aren't there and dhiru is busy with work. Please don't nag him to do what he doesn't want to do, or we'll have another codeworkx situation where the dev is tied to the forums and everyone wants everything NOW or they suck as a person...
Of course, i'm exaggerating, but the point is still valid.

Yes, we all want this, and we all want that, and we all want it now...
I am a complete noob and I cannot help with development, not even suggest anything because I cannot understand the amount of work implied.
All I can do is donate, so that devs have as many resources as they need. And wait silently, and thank them for every bit of progress that they achieve, and thank them even if they have no progress, because they are spending a lot of their time in everyone's benefit.

That's true, and i'm much the same. However, watching a dev get swamped and hounded isn't pleasant to watch.
Nevertheless, dhiru has said 'not yet' and won't accept donations at the current time. Try again later i guess.

I haven't forgot about you guys. Today we had a meeting with XDA owners via telephone. Were just getting everything ready before we make a huge announcement. I told you guys I'm NOT going to let you guys down. Just be a little patient.

I'm not sure there are a lot of expectations here to be let down. We know that in most cases you probably wouldn't be able to offer us beta, or even alpha firmware and software to develop with or on. RC firmware and software would be just as much out of the question so we're down to what is already out, or something that is leaked by people friendly to the development communities that take the chance of getting in to a lot of trouble. So I don't really know what you have to offer yet. I am curious to find out, though.
Dear john, you have sparked a lot of interest, we are drooling at the mouth do you have any gingerbread for us, or dare I speak of honeycomb? ;-)

"IF" this where to happen it would be a good thing for both samsung and xda for the simple fact that it would help us make better mods for the samsung community and would allow samsung to release things that are more open to modding and customizations that all of us around here love and enjoy making (or in my case learning to make)...hope all goes well with this.
I am a dubious person and do not have expectations as I am still uncertain as to your intentions and more importantly you identity.
But if all is as you say I would take back to the powers that be, many are obviously unhappy with having to run outdated software in the form of the OS on what was at the time of purchase cutting edge hardware.
Give us a option. Give us a way to open the phone up and flash a AOSP option. A more Nexus-ish approach would be fantastic.
The Mainstream will have what they require in a stock configuration and we the ones that know what the potential of the device is can help you in pushing it to its limits.
Well I'm trying to get my post count up so I can comment in development. Anywho kudos to samsung.
Thanks again John, I'm excited and look forward to hearing your announcement!

Honeycomb is made for tablets so I don't think that really helps us. And I highly doubt Samsung is going to release Gingerbread directly to XDA if at all.

maybe samsung will use us for testing and maybe some tweaking...that would give us a chance to develop on it before its officially released and we would just plain out have it early, cause if you give the devs here like 2 weeks with just about anything it will be fully modded and running to its full potential!!!
props to xda devs!!!
Everyone please come over to this thread.

Hopefully their next approach works out better, they should have known better than to open a topic up to the entire forum
They should probably have moderator's from each device take questions from their users, then they could collaborate and get only the good questions answered. (and you wouldn't have to deal with trolls/flames/etc.)

I suppose the question *since we can't ask specifics* is....
What can you do to help us and or what tools can you provide to the DEVs to help us get every bit of Awesome out of the device that we can.
Put the ball in your court.
Glad THIS thread is still open...
(Does SamsungJohn know how forums work?!?)
ANYhoo... I'm a give 'em enough rope to hang themselves kinda guy and I've actually been recommending the Mesmerize & Fascinate to friends that need new phones based solely on the great XDA community and what they can get those phones to do using only a bread tie, three pennies, and a jar of Cheez Wiz. Kudos to the devs once again!
I had no delusions that Samsung was a great manufacturer... my TV and DVD/home theater unit have had their share of problems... and I was also aware of the OS update delays in other product lines before I got my phone so that wasn't a big surprise either. BUT, I got in on the free phone thing through USCC and (if I EVER get my $80 rebate) I'll still consider being a Mesmerize owner/user a WIN.
What I see here is a classic example of a company that has the OBVIOUS solution within their grasp and they are actively choosing to find an alternative to it that will provide them SHORT TERM monetary gains. They have set themselves up for failure and they have only themselves to blame. Here's a vocabulary lesson for SamsungJohn et al... crowdsourcing
Guys if you haven't read through it, that topic was closed by a moderator because it was an experiment that failed miserably. (because the general XDA population isn't very good at reading and following instruction, and it turned into a huge flamefest.)
John has been confirmed by several sources to be who he says he is (at least works for samsung) and is here working with the XDA administration to (in an organized way) swap feedback with the developing community (on all samsung products).
On a side note Supercurio has been in correspondence with Korean Samsung and has been also pushing for this very thing to happen, but from what I've read i'ts pure coincidence that John arrived when he did.
Anyway, sounds to me like we need to be patient as information IS coming as soon as they figure out the best way to go about this whole thing. This is how I've taken things from what I've read today, don't quote me....

In all fairness Crowdsourceing is what the whole AOSP is about. Android was and is developed to be Open Source. So if a company is reaching out to the community it can't be all bad.
I just think that for the most part a lot of us here are end users.
While I am sure that others like me want to, and strive to learn more, we simply will not be on a par with the current crop of DEVs as they progress as well.
I think the idea of a couple DEVs from each of the respective forums of the variations of the SGS platforms being in contact is a smart idea.
Dcows, Phidelt, and of course JT and many of the OPs in the Samsung Fascinate IRC channel would be obvious choices.
In fact a meeting of the minds in a channel of choice with only participants having voice would be nice as well.
I do understand and hope that SamsungJohn does know as well that most here are simply end users and just wanna know when we will get xxx or yyy ..
I will now go back to my corner get my Java Text out and see if I can learn, learn, learn....
If samsung really wants to get in good with the developement community, they would be wise to make it entirely official, and go to engadget or someone with a press release. If you want to gain our trust, give everyone the AOSP build.
Do I want sammy to be community-minded? Absolutely.
Am I going to trust one guy who says he works for our manufacturer? Well, let's get to the root of that. Do I trust the company who created out hardware? Not at all.

Yeah I frequent the irc with those guys and we're always willing to help people... I think a lot of people come to forums just to get help and information rather than to develop and theme and stuff like we do. It would probably be more beneficial for Samsungjohn to maybe set up a date on the irc and say like "I will be on from x time to y time" and then people can get on and ask questions and talk about things, and more of the power users who use the irc regularly will get a chance to maybe learn some stuff or help out Samsung.
It would also make it much easier to control, if things get out of hand then the OPs can simply kick or ban the culprits.

Hey guys, so i've talked with Zackconsole , he is porting ICS to Huawei Ideos U1850 , it's in Beta 3 now and he's done a great job especially taking into consideration the hardware he's dealing with. Anyways , he doesn't own a I9001, but he said that he is ready to port for us if we're ready to test his builds, basically he needs one private tester, and the rest can test when builds get published, normally i would've volunteered to test, but i have 2 serious exams coming in February (i'm a med student) and will be absent from the forums for a while , so we're looking for someone who has the time to keep testing and communicating with the dev, logcatting and reporting errors, so if anyone is interested plz let me know. it won't be easy, but if sakindia managed to get Cranium to where it is now without having the device, this project might succeed, in addition as seen in his signature Zackconsole owns an Arc S , which should make it even easier to use their bases...
Update: OK , so from now on FaqihCici will be working with Zackconsole , any questions/info should be addressed to him.
for the following few days i'm still free and ready to help in any way if needed. i hope more and more people will join too. Gd. Luck guys
Note: i kindly ask the mods not to move/delete this thread only for a couple of days untill we see how many users are ready for testing.
wow! Awesome news
+1 here..........

Update: Zackconsole: Well i might be able to push a POC by today cause i am free today..but need a tester...or u can find someone to test it... cause rarely i get to have free time as well
i would prefer if the person who will work with him start since the first build, but if we don't find any, i'll keep testing for the time i could be online and someone will have to take over. let me know if some1 is interested to start the work from today.

could be a good idea.. or not. if they were to team up im sure the developement would be faster and easier. then again when two strangers team up might cause conflict.. maybe for now, it is best each one make their own
I think it's better if Zackconsole starts the port and at least we get a booting version first, since he knows from where to start thanks to his ICS ports for other devices, then the whole community including guys like manveru0, YardE, skywalker01 and others could join forces and fix what can be fixed to get to where SGS is now so, definitely our priority is to get a booting version, hopefully with working touchscreen, other hardware stuff and tweaks will follow on.
Edit: annoymous1234 u're also Malaysian, so maybe u could help FaqihCici in case he needs it

Well as of now I'm attempting to port this Rom from the Inspire. I know its fine because the Rom is apart of AOKP (Android Open KANG Project) So far...I'm yet to get it booting as this is my First Rom...Blue6IX has been really great to me with his amazing guides scattered in pretty much one Mother-of-All-Threads
So know promises but hope for an Booting Alpha soon. If you know anything that can assist me (guides, techniques etc) please PM me or post below. Btw I will be editing this thread for updates on my progress.
Awesome, we can always use another Dev.
that would be great, the screenshots of that ROM look really slick! if you can catch jkilo, he could probably help ya, and in general you'd probably get some pointers in the IRC. good luck, and have fun!
Maybe eventually you can get CM9 booting on our device.
Yes lol...have actually been trying to catch him on the irc servers...no luck

We already have a 'getting started with doubleshot' guide/sticky thread. Would it be a really good idea to have one for devving for this device too?
We have really few devs around here and I know our devs went through a lot to get where they are right now, but the quickest way to share the basics on this would be to have a basic getting started with devving for the mt4gs guide.
It would reduce the number of PMs devs have to deal with too and give more time to work on their roms. It would also be a nice avenue to share ways to fix common bugs/problems with the device during the dev process, for those willing to share their knowlegde.
I know there's something like this somewhere on XDA, but I think with the number of devs we have around it would be a great idea to have a personalised one for this device.
I hope this isn't to much to ask for.

INTRODUCTION
I am starting this forum in hope of educating my readers about ROM development according to my experiences. Further, I will highlight what is the usual developers' thought process before they decide to build a ROM for a specific device. The reasons why they usually choose a certain device or why they prefer one device over another would also be stated briefly. I also have intention of looking into ways how we can speed up ROM productions for Xperia L and what you can do to play your part.
I UNDERSTAND YOUR FRUSTRATION FOR NO CUSTOM ROMS EVEN AFTER 7 MONTHS BUT THIS DOESNOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO SPAM
I am sure many of you must be really disappointed by the lack of development for Xperia L and I know this must be frustrating when we see other devices are getting ROMS so quickly. However, sad to put this into writing that many users have indulge into SPAMMING and I have not seen a more unorganised forum at XDA for a while. I know many are too excited when they find a little about any OTA/ Custom ROM and sharing such news is fully justified after it seems plausible. However, it's beyond my logic & thinking why the forums are SPAMMED for any little information they might find anywhere regardless of their sources or if it has been ALREADY POSTED. I reckon many of these threads could have been avoided by simply searching in the forum.
ROM DEVELOPMENT
I can assure you that many develoeprs are working very hard to PORT and develop different ROMS for Xperia L. However, the reason we can not see any CUSTOM roms till yet is due to complicated nature of Xperia L itself.
Usually developers prefer a device which is :
1. Easy to work with, less complicated to code with or in other terms DEVELOPER friendly. For example, for a while I had a real issue with HTC phones as they have too many things to work with like Bootloader, S Lock, Radios, Hboot version etc while in Nexus devices you only need to unlock your device with one fastboot command. That's all and you are ready to flash ROMs.
2. Personal preference of Device. This simply means that we all have different tastes and thus we choose different devices. A certain developer might only work for a certain brand while other might work with few brands. This has nothing to do with anything but a personal choice.
3. A device that promises reward in terms of money/self satisfaction. Developers usually go for devices which have most active users so if their intention is also to get some money out of it in terms of donation, this will work well with devices which are more in number.
4. Knowledge about a certain brand more than another.
5. MONEY TO BUY A CERTAIN DEVICE/DEVICES. Suppose a developer wants to make ROMS for Xperia L/ SP/Z and Xperia U. Yet he only has 500 dollars to choose from. He then will have to make a choice between devices and this will eventually mean that not all of the devices get the same treatment. Money is the most decisive factor why a developer doesnot chose your device but rather another. For example purpose only, if I have to choose between devices, I might prefer SP over Xperia L as I can see more future of SP than Xperia L(I might be wrong).
SOME REQUESTS
Please STOP bugging developers by trivial questions. Just think how many other people ask the same question and it gets very frustrating to actually work on the device itself.
Every developer has a LIFE apart from developing ROMs. They also have a family, school, work, hobbies, bad days and so much like us. So they will do it when they feel like doing it. Just sit back and relax. Enjoy your device until developer releases the ROM for your device. Asking a REASONABLE question seems plausible but asking same questions/useless questions without using brains is just STUPID. Kindly refrain from that.
Ubberlaggydarwin has taken the initiative to work on CyanogenMod and I believe the best thing now is to be patient. Let him concentrate. Spamming and spamming again won't help really. I saw the other posts from other CM developers who clearly stated that CM team do not HAVE xperia L till yet to start working on CM and people have started SPAMMING developers, their twitters, blogs and accounts. That's really sad. You can discuss on the forum what you think about it but IRKING developers isnot really cool.
The reason of this forum is to work as a team and I am afraid we havenot been really good at it till now and moderators have to CLOSE/DELETE forums.
If you are wondering why Xperia L isnot getting many CUSTOM ROMS is that it is a complicated device and small developers are having a tough job working on it. Thus, many developers who could easily port a ROM or build one haven't been successful as their are many stumbling blocks to work with.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP DEVELOPERS AND SEE CUSTOM ROMS.
1. Search the form first and look for answers. DON'T start new posts/questions/threads when it is ALREADY mentioned in some other section.
2. STOP PMing/SPAMING developers but rather ask a question WHICH havenot been asked before in the forum. Do not engage in the habit of making a new forum for everything. Try to keep threads as little as possible.
3. Follow developers and see what they have updated about on their official twitter, facebook, etc rather than bugging them on different forums/social websites.
4 DONATE THEM. DONATE THEM . DONATE THEM!
The amount of efforts they put, sitting for hours in front of their PCs and I know how frustrating it gets when you try to run commands and everything seems to work yet you can not boot up your ROM. And worse, you can not find WHY really. Just a change in line in build.prop results in failure of ROM to boot up and specially working from source to build ROM is really really tough. The best thing you can do is being supportive and patient !
A ROM development requires not just EXCESSIVE amount of hardwork, time, energy and dedication but also they need MONEY to actually buy devices and try it on. They are happy and encouraged to keep on developing ROMs when they see their efforts are not wasted and they are rewarded and respected for what they do.
MY SUGGESTION
An easy way to encourage the developers to work for Xperia L is by donations. Give them donations to buy a specific device. In our case, we can agree on how much we all can donate. After it is learnt how many devices can be bought with donations, we can send the amount to different developers to buy Xperia L.
I give you the opportunity to write on this forum who wants to donate and whom they trust to do this job. Specific developers can be chosen.
You can discuss about why you chose a certain developer and how much he can offer. In the end, voting should be done between users who are willing to donate so we can agree who will be the best men to do this job (of developing ROMs).
I am NOT asking for any donations myself (I have no donation bar in my account) or no one has asked me to start this post.
I will appreciate that people do not SPAM THIS THREAD.
ONLY put really important points or if you are willing to donate or want to make a valid point. I will add the names and the amount any user wishes to donate so we can track how much have been donated in theory before we can actually take the next step.
Xperia L costs around US $235 in USA, GBP 217 in the UK. So even if 50 people donate around 5-7 dollars (less than one hour of your wage), we can have many ROMS and support for our device.
I donot have a paypal account and I will ask my bank if I can make transactions to PAYPAL to tell you that I am the first person to take initiative of my theory.
UPDATE : STARTED A FORUM IN DEVELOPMENT SECTION TO FIND DEVELOPERS.

Kindly show your support and write on the thread now and then so most people can see the thread and we can reach more developers.
UPDATES :
UPDATE 24/11/2013:
Most developers have still not given any positive response till yet and I can only disappoint you that I do not see any CUSTOM development until January. No CM brewing officially and the device added on CM is just for reference. uberlaggydarwin is interested but he doesnot have the device till yet.
UPDATE 26/11/2013
I am in talks with few more developers who have shown interest in Xperia L. I am trying my best to get developers for your device!
I hope to give you good news soon. Currently I am trying to hunt down DOOMLORD who is also very experienced developer at XDA.
Uberlaggydarwin is close to buy an Xperia L and he seems to finish Xperia L development before January if donations are made by then in time. I have confirmed. Support him by donations.Check third post
UPDATE 29/11/2013
Uberlaggydarwin is still in short of money to buy Xperia L. He is still waiting for more donations made via Paypal or Google Play. Kindly Donate to him in case you want to speed up development.
UPDATE 1/12/2013
Uberlaggydarwin is having exams till wednesday. He will be then be having some holidays. If he can get donations, he will buy the phone and start working on it. He also told me that he will add few dollars himself if donations reach to a certain level.
UPDATE 3/12/2013
Uberlaggydarwin is going to make a PROPER STABLE ROM and he will strive hard to do it ! He is only interested in development and thus I believe I might be doing all the User support for CM for him! Anyone who wants to volunteer is highly appreciated.
UPDATE 7/12/2013
Uberlaggy darwin is going to buy the device soon and he has got the money to buy the device. Well, I believe the reason why I started this forum has been accomplished. This wouldnot be updated anymore and If in case required, I will again start updating this thread. Thank You so much for your donations and working as a team to make it possible for uberlaggydarwin to buy the device. Remember he has put his own 140 dollars into the device. If you are happy with his work and appreciate the CM when it comes available, you can continue donating to him.
UPDATE 7/12/2013
Ubberlaggydarwin said, he will release CAF kernel within three days when he gets the device!
He is very enthusiastic about working CM on Xperia L.

Just bought a Xperia L the other week and I have to say the XL forums here on xda really baffled me.
I owned a X8 before and it was weird to see the little development and loads of nonsense here. That was surprising to me when looking at the specs and the price tag of this phone.
Thanks for this thread, I'm looking forward to supporting any good and motivated dev. :good:
I think I uberlaggydarwin was stating interest in working on the XL as soon as he gets his hands on it. Also, CM has added the XL to their database on their website.

Same here, I'm coming from Neo V(Xperia 2011)there have really good development. nAa make 3.4 kernel for it and one great dev(mike) bring cm10.1/2 and now he boot cm11...
I saw the spec and the price of this device, but I forgot to search and see what development going here...But I'm optimistic for this device and I think that if we get Cm10.1/2/11 development will start with full speed.
And just to tell you, this in the Cm site is just placeholder and uberlaggydarwin start to work on cm10.1 for our device, but he don't have the device I want to help him with donate but I don't have a credit card...Will try to find someone to donate from me.

I am in contact with uberlaggydarwin and he still hasnot got the device. He has worked a bit for our device using his friend phone but that's not enough. He told me that he is seriously considering CM for Xperia L and he will tell me about it in a day or two. Also, he got exams next week so it wouldnot surprise me that if he takes his time to reply back. Kindly do not PM him or quote him unless required as I am in direct talks with him.
adfad666 is a well known developer but I am not sure if he is interested in development for Xperia L. Can you ask him if he is interested in development for Xperia L. If suppose he is, we can give him incentives to work for our device. Just see what he says about it.
As far as CM is concerned, they still havenot got the device yet. And they NEVER announce support for any device until they have made CM already. It's really surprising as I have never seen CM add a device with no build but I hope it means good news for Xperia L.
About donations, it's not that we are doing a FAVOUR to developers but simply incentives / ways to have enough money to buy the device. That's it. Developers need devices until they can actually make the ROMS. In real, they are the ones who are helping us!
You can support developers by buying their apps on google play, however, I am not providing links until a developer confirms he is serious about Xperia L.
I can not tell you more at this point as some things need to be sorted out between developers and it is just in "suggestion phase"
We only need one CUSTOM rom like CM and I am sure, many small developers will base their ROMS on it. So we will soon have a lot of custom ROMS.
Around 4 people have asked for alternative ways to donate apart from paypal/credit card. If any one has suggestions, do write them.
Update:
I got exam this monday and tuesday so I might not write back soon
Update 2 : started a forum. Link in the first post. Check it out and support the thread.

I am sorry to break this disappoint you
MAJOR UPDATE :
I hate to disappoint you all but it seems that we won't see any custom ROM till the end of January unless we find a developer. I have talked to my sources and I can only break to you this news. There is nothing brewing at the moment in official CM either.
However it's very possible that someone is working on a Rom whom I don't know.
uberlaggydarwin is developer from Xperia SP and he is interested. He got a bootable CM and done quite a work but he hasnot got the device itself.
He had been working on the device of his friend which wouldnot be available to him any more. I am not sure what happens next and I will update you if i have any more updates.
Kindly do not ask about my sources as I simply can't.
Unless we attract any other developer, we are on our own. So if anyone can help or reach developers, kindly share.
The main reason for no real roms for Xperia L is develoeprs not ready to buy this device.
UPDATE 26/11/2013
I am in talks with few more developers who have shown interest in Xperia L. I am trying my best to get developers for your device!
I will give you good news soon. Currently I am trying to hunt down DOOMLORD who is also very experienced developer at XDA. I am also in talks with others but it's very early to say anything till yet. I am hoping to get a reply from DoomLord by tomorrow!
Uberlaggydarwin :Just wanted to give a big shoutout/thanks to Stefan Ernst (steeserious?) from Germany and Jon Nightingale from Australia (don't know your alias mate )
They donated a generous amount to buy me a Xperia L so my Xperia L followers can get CM on their devices too and all the others who bought my app
I'm not there yet though. Let's see if we can sort out something by the end of December
You all rock!
Can't wait to be rocking an AOSP rom on my device with you.
He is still short on donations !
UPDATE 29/11/13
I had talks with uberlaggydarwin and he is still short on cash to buy Xperia L device. He is serious about Xperia L if you can help him buy the device. Also, we talked about how we can send him donations apart from his paypal & google play apps. Check third post of this thread to donate. Moreover, if you can not donate yourself, you can ask someone to donate via their paypal/bank account and you can hand them cash. 5 to 10 dollars isnot a big deal. You spend that amount of money on fast food. Come On guys!!!
Other developers that I have talked with havenot given any positive response so till now we only have hope of uberlaggydarwin!
Currently uberlaggydarwin has got exams so I might not be able to reach uberlaggydarwin

I have started Updating about Xperia L development on second post. Do check it regularly. I need your support in case any developer is ready to help us. Kindly if you can donate or are ready to use device for test versions and submit logs to developers, that be great!
Even if you can not do any of the above, you can suggest opinions and think of ways to be helpful.

Its already been mentioned in updates. Kindly don't rewrite something already present or if you want to donate or you have something really important to share.
I just donated U$5, may not be much, but i hope it helps a little bit. After 6/12 i will know how much i have free from my budget of December.
Also donated!
This has been my daily driver from when it started... Now seeing the that Pixel Experience will no longer receive any update! It feels so sad now! Please.... Someone keep it alive!

Honestly, i dont think someone should. This community doesnt deserve this lol. Why would someone spend their time, only to get bothered with nonsense questions, requests, demands all the time. Get blamed for bugs, which arent even rom fault, never get any logs etc etc.. I could continue this list on and on and on. 80% of users here are ungrateful noobs that cant even read OP or last 3 posts, not even talking about using search function. So yeah, i dont wish that to any dev. Thats all my for my rant.

You said it: 80% are ungrateful. That means that 20% correctly thank the work of @jhenrique09 . Please dev, continue your great work for that 20% of people in this community.
Just to say i will greatly miss this rom too...

I agree with you too! They always complain about useless stuff! But please!!! It's absurd but I've fallen in love with Pixel Experience! And if there's no further update.... I don't think I'll switch to any other rom either! PE is just sooo awesome! And ...again I understand what you say, but believe me.... There are some who genuinely appreciate all Devs works! And love to use their products! Anyways... I still hope a resurrection of PE someday ?

+1... It was best ROM for Whyred
Just move one. There is lots of ROM out there don't know why people freaking about it lol.
Here's what Whyred XDA Community deserve.
Community really never helped the developer Who has developed the rom without the device (and yes, it was painfull for him with 300 reported problems and zero logs).

been using many rom, on many devices and for many years now.
This one was for me on whyred the most stable (or the most quickly fixed), keeping battery pretty good and with a good concept. I even used it on other devices since i liked it a lot.
That's the reason why it bother us.
the dev made a great job maintaining this ROM and was updating it regularly. for the first time i consider staying on a ROM that is potentially no more developped
The best custom rom, it's custom but it's cleanest
If you ever wonder why devs struggle to find motivation to work for the community, just find the first Pie FW update from henrique in PE thread and read the posts until the last page. Despite the fact that it was clearly noted to update firmware to Pie version and it was written how to do it, there were 4-5 pages per day (not posts, PAGES) filled with questions:
- bootloop, help pls
- can't flash, error in twrp
- how to update
Literally.
And that's everything you need to know about Whyred community.
1- If the rom is stable, you can live without updates.
2- José is "back", he bought a new whyred.

Yeah... If people just explore the forum more and do what he says to do... There wouldn't be any problems... The fill pages writing about questions. And it isn't a sign of wit! But PE is like love for a few people! And I eagerly want it comes back!
Never bothered to update my PE (december 5 rom) since it came out. Is running as smoothly as can be, so why mess with a good thing? Will probably keep it until next device, maybe next year.
Is there an archive with the older pixel experience roms and their respective changelogs somewhere?

The developers must link their jobs, social life etc. with making great roms. They need to sacrifice their free time to maintain the rom, fix the problems they encounter with debugging and people complain because they almost never read OP. Without thanking the dev, supporting him, what kind of monsters have this community become? Asking simple questions, which they just can search in like 5 seconds to find an answer... Shame on those people, may they regret now what've they done.

Most of the devs are stopping because of the annoyances of the users, even more when the person does not have a device, it gets worse.
