[Q] Call recording - Motorola Atrix 2

Do someone know if call recording possible in Atrix 2?
I mean clear recording from audio bus and not from speaker.

I've never tried any myself but there are a slew of apps available on the Android Market for recording calls. You should take a look there.

Well, of you record it with out someone knowing that you did, i cant use it in court.
Atleast thats my understanding.
Ever notice that a credit card company tells you that your call might be recorded.?

That's true, any evidence, either video or audio, being recorded without consent cannot be used to convict in court.

Call recording and a lot of other goodies come stock with ME865 (Hongkong variant of Atrix2 MB865). Wait devs patiently to port me865 rom to regular at&t mb865.

For one, the ability to take screen snapshots using some hard key sequence. There is a couple threads already about this one.

Kind of. The tmo servers have a checkin service that is like win update on windows.Test keys are used for roms so they can receive OTA updates theoretically but they can tell diff from unrooted phone and rooted phone. Tmo apps dont work like myfaves but i doubt tmo cares since only a small fraction of customers are aware of rooting not too many people.

That will result in fewer sales on a small percentage of users! Probably enough to make even DEV's not want to even jack with it.

They did jack with it and it's now permanent rootable along with the mt4g. People like to be challenged.
From a phone
It will eventually come to all but the nexus series of phones and the geeksphone, and the XDA community will find a way to disable that chip in time.
Why post an article that holds no weight to our phone? And that phone is rooted already.
This is my Captivate. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
If the phone reverts to the original software, how are they ever going to do updates?
I have a feeling that there is a way to make permanent changes. It will just take time for someone to figure it how their updates work.

OP must be living under a rock.

Must look! Just got off phone with t-mobile executive care

I just got off the phone with a very nice lady from t-mobile executive care and she told me that the official update just got to them last Wednesday and after hearing about all my problems she offered me a G2x with the software update on it and she said it would be here by the end of the week. So T-mobile is rolling out the software update soon she told me and I was so shocked she would even tell me this information. A weird part though is she said she could do the multiple exchange for the G2? That was pretty weird haha
duno man... too many stories thus far
well
well i hope she was right because I am receiving the new g2x this week with the update
No one is going to believe you. The only thing you can do is post screens of the software version etc. once the phone arrives.
Which is really a shame, because after all of this hoopla, we still have no gingerbread kernel, no nvidia drivers, and no lg camera application...and if what we have right now ends up being the official gingerbread update for our phone from t-mobile, then we really don't have much more to hope for.

Lets hope that she is right and the real update is going to be out. Hopefully this leak isn't another reason to stall it. Am I the only one who thinks the LG camera app was a culprit here? you cant advertise a phone with 1080p recording then remove it in an update because you couldn't get it to work anymore.

It just seems unlikely to me, if LG put out an update that does NOT include their very own camera application, that T-mobile will include the LG camera. And the overall attitude I'm getting for various representatives at T-mobile is that of "take it or leave it." I'm getting the feeling that they are already taking a defensive stance and we pretty much have the best that we're going to get out of them.
We are on our own.
.
well if you dont believe it dosen't bother me at all because i know what she told me and when t-mobile sends me the official gb update on the replacement i will upload pics and vids for everybody to see because many people think its still far and i just wanted to share the info i got
anybody notice that in the pic on this page http://www.tmonews.com/2011/07/t-mo...en-shot-2011-07-25-at-4-18-29-pmwtmk0000wtmk/ it say's "the other cool stuff is still there" and it mentions 1080p video recording?
so, maybe, v21e is not "official"?

I believe you...I just say, "who cares" about an official T-mobile update? We already have the update. And unless something miraculous happened at T-mobile over the past 5 days, then this "official" update is going to be the same that we have...do you think they re-wrote LG's code? They got sent the update for testing...if they are releasing it 5 days later, then it's a pretty good bet that there were no changes to the test update.
Of course, I've been wrong about plenty in my life. But my prediction: "official update" will be the same garbage that the "unofficial" (which was "officially" released by LG already) is, with no LG camera, and no GB kernel.

then that would be false advertising because the specs are listed as 1080p video recording. or does the updated gb record in 1080p? haven't tested yet.
Yeh, I just saw that picture that was linked above my post, and I noticed the 1080 video recording spec listed. I certainly hope that I'm wrong...because I love that LG camera so much more than the aosp version. They are just not even in the same league. But even more important than the camera, would be an updated kernel. Ahhh, what a pleasant fiction.

Who knows...I could have sworn I read a dev post once that even with a new kernel, they would still be handcuffed without Nvidia making their drivers available. But perhaps it would be another little extension to the bridge. For instance, Nvidia might be more willing to make drivers for a GB kernel available AFTER we are actually supposed to have it. Remember, technically, we still don't have gingerbread on our g2x, so there's really no reason for them to do any extra work on that end. But I'm entering an area that I know little about, and the more I type, the more unfounded opinion I'm spewing.

The Atrix has GB and A2DP works (haven't seen any complaints that it doesn't) in addition to it being 2.3.4...so someone over at Nvidia kicked it into high gear and released A2DP drivers and did something to get over the lack of NEON so that they could get FFC video via Gtalk to work. I would be very disappointed if LG didn't incorporate these changes into their GB ROM but if the ROM they "released" is the ROM we're getting...

YOu mean false advertising like the time they posted on their website and claimed the G2X was quad band and worked on at&t and then when the phone was released no one could get it to work.
Ya i wouldn't put it past them to say they are including 1080p in the update only to later say "sorry mistake"

Do cusotm roms have Carrier IQ installed?

Hi, I just installed Airflip's KJ6 AOSP Style "OFFICIAL" Rom. Does anyone know if this Rom has Carrier IQ installed? I ran Eckhart's Logging TestApp, but to be honest, I found the app difficult to use. Had no clue how to read the results.
It most likely does. I don't think thàt ciq was taken into consideration when he released that rom.
It amazes me how much this has gotten out of hand. People what updates and their phone to work properly no matter what they do but don't want the device to store the needed data. Not to mention this is nothing compared to the law that was just passed that forces all US carriers to install a chip for the US government to use to send you amber alerts and terrorist attacks. With no way to remove it or opt out. Oh and did I mention that said chip that is being developed for it has GPS and voice recording options. So if everyone is willing to allow this to happen Carrier IQ is the least of your worries

actually....it's not chip, well at least not the alerts.... it's coded into the 2.3.6 and 2.3.7 frameworks/base :/
I'm actually in the process of removing that on my NS ROM, but people are *****ing at me NOT to remove it.. o.0
As far as CIQ, I posted a rom this morning where I fully removed it from the framework code.

Yeah no not the alerts yet. The code has just been starting to get implamented as there are those trying to fight it. I know of at least 100 people that will no longer by US based phones because of this chip once it is set to be installed. Right now they are doing it the way it should be done by carrier message. Ill track down the chips specs once I get to a PC. Maybe it will help later on when we try to disable it which we know will happen of course lol

I use Viber for WiFi calling. However, you can only call the people who are on Viber already. This is a good apk if you're overseas trying to call home or vice-versa.

I'm not holding my breath for summer. I had a CSR @ Sprint tell me that they were beginning the OTA roll out of this feature on 5/11/14. When I called back yesterday, they had no idea where that CSR got that info and negated the date suggested. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing over there.
Use Google Voice VoIP apk from Play Store or one similar to it.
