I was just waiting for it to come down to this. I get the feeling I'm one of the few that read every post in the threads for Incredibly Re-engineered, The Perfect Storm, and Gingeritus up until the holiday weekend began. It's not like the guy just had a bad day. It's more like for a couple months now people were getting way outta line with him about how he built his ROMs. Go over and read the thread for IR. As long ago as last year he was dealing with slugs that didn't read the OP. One of the reasons he put the wipe script in there was because of all the idiots flashing without wiping, then posting how his ROM sucked and had all kinds of issues, like it was his fault. I've flashed his ROMs onto many different phones, flawlessly, and everytime I hand the phone back to the owner they're like "Wow! This thing is FAST!" Yeah, maybe this subject is a dead horse, but it really bothers me how folks treat one another sometimes, especially when the bad attitude comes from a moron directed at someone basically giving gifts away. The mere thought of doing what these guys do makes me want to sever major arteries in my body. But, I'm sure glad they like it because I like the results! I could gripe about how the home screens are full of icons and widgets nobody would use, or the lack of some features like wireless tether in some ROMs, or the screen brightness, or the kernel he packed with it, but is there a point? No. I'm some nobody that stumbled across his work one day and thought "Gosh! This is top drawer work!" When someone puts there heart and time into something and applies the skills acquired over years, it shows. It shows in Chingy's work all the way back to Re-engineered for the EVO. I completely understand how he'd feel reading some of the posts on his threads. I would probably have done the same thing, except sooner. Sometimes I wonder why there aren't as many devs here as I'd like to see, especially for kernels, but I don't need to wonder long. I've screwed up my phone before. I've gotten pissed because it looked like some dev couldn't do anything right, but the reality is if his work was that bad, it wouldn't have been posted long enough for me to download. So I point the finger at me. Sometimes trying to get something to work just pisses me off because I'm not a dev, or even that wise to this stuff in general. Restore a nandroid and keep on having a good day. Pretty simple. It's hard to believe that's too hard for everyone to do! I feel bad for Chingy. More than a couple folks have gotten ugly with him over a long span of time. Gingeritus 1.1 is out now. I'm gonna go get that and continue enjoying how CHINGY, and ONLY CHINGY, believes a sense ROM should work.

LOL, there is this guy at work who has to be the worst speller on the planet.
Anyways, one day I told him, "You know there is a spelling checker you can use when you send emails, right?"

These same "fellow" devs say the same snide remarks towards me. There is no code of honor.
That said, if you cannot stand the pressure of some dickhead users, then hang up the title belt. That goes for any dev, including myself. I mean I could get mad and retreat to my own forum because you called me a catty old lady, but I don't have that thin of skin. Sorry.
As for the virus issue, that was effing ridiculous because the dev jumped on me, and he didn't even take the time to read ahead of time and see what the deal was, and that I was dealing with accusations of kanging. QUITE the different issue.
Deving anything in the android community requires thick skin. Sure I get mad. But I have not yet picked up my ball and gone home. The day I do, it won't be for reasons that a user got butt hurt for not reading.

gtg now has to start a new thread. that post was specifically for the v2. he is doing the best he can to establish the gb rom. but people flood that post like nothing to it, thats not even a v2 thread anymore. its a troll thread

My opinion is all this wok for the infuse by these devs is on their own time. They do the best they can with what they have. People need to stop harassing them for eta's and improvements, especially when they state that they are working on it before the complaints start. Before you complain read the first post, it most likely tells all.

Agree Dave. A couple of lamers (bella incl) should not cause a dev thread to be locked. Although gtg is off fixing an issue and chose to take down the link for a bit, there are still ppl that could benefit from healty rom related conversation. Bella and a couple of other bella fanclowns have already indicated they're chomping at the bit to go to the SGS2. Good thing I am not moderating... Lol. I would have already helped them along with a ban from the infuse forums.

Agreed. I browse other threads too just to gain more knowledge, and I have never seen such users. This kind of thing is embarrassing, honestly. Honestly, they all stopped after getting a warning from the mod, but one specific user started the whole mess again by calling out Bella. So thank you to that user for ruining it for everyone.

I do agree that Neo should have and still should suspend the privelages of the habitual offenders. There are people who legitamately have problems and would like to discuss them in a respectfull manner and interact on an intelligent level. My kids and myself included!
The few bad apples ruined it for all! I feel bad for gtg and the others that work with and support him. He worked hard to make a test rom and got slapped in the face again by the people that clutter his thread with useless garbage.

This kind of crap never happened in the captivate forums, so I hope it dies out quickly so the devs can get back to doing what they're best at. Also, remember, with the nature of this forum, its bound to attract adolescents. I'd put my money on that, there the ones who derailled your thread. As for spelling, well, I have large thumbs and don't check my spelling ever. Especially when typing from mobile devices.

I'll look around for the list. On the forums I mod/ admin on, the mods names are on the designated forum so all can see. Not the case here.

Not only have them resurrect it, see if they'll delete any trolling comments as well.

Just an FYI I'm a total noob here but I've been around online forums for well over a decade in various iterations... from back in the old BBS days (tho with different handle/nick/alias/whatever the cool kids are calling them these days - I wasn't a "mama" back then). I'm a social researcher these days, can't get the hardware nerdiness out of my system (I'm the biggest tech geek of any gender in the social sciences departments at my university I think... I want to cry every time one of the profs says something about using a thumbdrive and gets confused when I ask them why they don't use services Dropbox instead since there's campus-wide wifi).

THUMB DRIVES?? DROPBOX? OMG, Are you living in.. like... the DARK ages? Don't you know that we can store information in fingerprints now? Like, I have terrabytes of information all over the screen of my 7+. That information is probably more durable than ANYTHING stored on dropbox!
I just haven't figured out, yet, how to transfer that information into the tab's memory. I'll get there eventually. Maybe if I turn it inside-out.
The reason for the 'sarcastic diva' thing was based in another forums, for the sgh-i777. Someone accused all developers of being diva's, and I figured that if I was going to be called a 'diva', I'd at least be a sarcastic one.

This is only to about 10%-15% of people on xda
To all the Crybabies and idiots on here. This site was a good place to find good stuff. Well that is getting harder to do now in alot of the threads because there seems to always be a couple people in just about every thread on the damn site that cant get along with anybody and always want to argue and start **** everytime something doesnt go exactly thier way. Get a life stop creating headaches in everone elses life. Devs are leaving this site left and right because of all this **** and it is getting worse everyday. If you dont like something in a thread get the hell over it and move the **** on to another thread. I mean damn there are plenty of other threads to goto its not like your ****in world will end or someone will miss your Whining ass in that thread. People need to understand that devs do this stuff for free on their own time. If you think its so easy try it yourself and then if you get it figured out post a thread and see how you handle assholes starting **** in ur thread. Just grow the **** up and get over it.
P.S.
I am easy to get along with and try to help whoever I can just ask anybody in the threads I post in so dont jump in here and say oh what an asshole. Sometimes people just need to hear/read the truth so I figured I would say what alot of people on hear probably want to say but usually dont.

I have to agree. One, bucks a stand up guy. Don't believe it? He's a member of another site that I'm on, I won't mention the name because I don't want some idiot who thinks he is an internet badass to start trolling that site. I've been a member that refused to post for a very long time due to all the nonsense on here. This place helps you make your device awesome, gives it faster/better software with more features and your choice of UI design, and if you want to you can poke around and find some good info and learn to do some of this yourself. All for free. Unfortunately there is this attitude that some people here have, I swear its like you bought something you cry so much. I bet the same people that do this here are the douchesacks that whine in resteraunts trying to get free meals. We should all thank you for your useless contributions to society. You slow things down, you cost businesses money so prices go up partly because of you, and you freak out at the drop of a hat to get your way, and you're usually STUPID as a rock to boot! (to any rocks that were offended, my apologies)
Seriously, look at the name of the site. Xda developers. Meaning the people here that are posting things are developing them. Not releasing perfect software the first try. And yeah, a lot of them have donate buttons in their sigs, but how often do they really get used? And how often do they really profit off of it? Between the whining @ devs and squabbling over what is better and blasting newbs who can't find a damn thing in hundreds of trash posts I think its safe to say the minority on this site have absolutely ruined it for the others.
Oh, and before someone comments on my post count, trust me, its more than high enough on my home site. I'm not a dev but I'm no idiot either, I spent months teaching myself what i wanted to know here, and after spending countless hours wasted sifting through 'is it done yet?' It's taking so long' sense is better' nu-uh, aosp is' and sadly my knowledge of all things android tripled in one month on another site. So i went by the rules and kept my mouth shut, hit the search button till it was sore, and all I learned is that there are a group of babies on here that really need to go get a life.
To those who have tried to make this a place of learning, growing, and pushing the limits of our respective devices, thank you. Both for what you have done for android and for strangers, and for tolerating the dingdongs on this site. Good night.

You're both exactly right
The problem is the change in user demographic since Android's inception. There was a lot more respect here before every twelve-year-old and his six-year-old brother had a smartphone.
That's not to say younger members are the root of all evil, of course Just the majority of it
