Hello i have just flashed revolution HD on here
And just wondering if i should let it be what overclock settings would be good as it has daemon config installed any way just wondering where to go from a new flash

Thread moved to Q&A. Also, I am not sure I understand your question.

Well mostly like what setting should i use too gain both decent battery life and the best preformance, androidrevolutionHD is what i just flashed and the kernal im using is 2.6.36.4-g6aa10ba [email protected] #20111023
Is there a differnt kernal i use or an app to have better control of overclocking maybe what settings are best...

Get setcpu from the market, max out the slider both way (100 min, 1500 max) and set it on either interactive or ondemand, those are good for battery savings.
You can review what the governors do here;
http://www.everythingabouttablets.net/2012/01/22/android-overclocking-governors-explained/
The TF will take 1500mhz pretty stable, I don't recall ever getting a freeze up or random reboot with my clock settings maxed out.
And see my signature for a good noob guide.

Help with kernels and O/C coredroid 6.6

First question:
I'm using no-frills CPU to Overclock. I have HTC inspire 4g running coredroid 6.6 what would be a good starting point for my
Min. Clock freq? And my max clock freq? And also what do the freq's do? Help please trying to get the most out.
Also if someone would explain what the governers are....

Help please
Second question:
How do I properly flash a kernel. Currently using coredroid 6.6 and wanting to flash the new leedroid kerbel. What is the propper way to do so?

If you download the kernel listed in my sig, then you can flash it via Clockwork Recovery. As far as the governers, I'm not too familiar with them myself, but here is a little info about some of them. I believe Smartass is a little newer or made for specific kernels, so there doesn't seem to be much info on that one.
Pretty much trial and error and see what one works best for you. With LeeDroid's latest kernel, SetCPU lets you go as high as 1800Mhz or so, and I had it set to that as max, with 500Mhz (or whatever setting was closest to it), but just lowered my OC a bit to a little over 1000Mhz to try and get some more battery life out of it.
Okay thank you very much. Nobody got back to me last night. I had leedroid new kernel an i flashed it, and I noticed a HUGE difference in how fast it was.
When downloading new ROMS like some say data+++, aosp, an so on.... What does all that mean? I'm very new to all this but slowly catching on.
Also I don't have set CPU, you have to buy it... I have no frills CPU

Even though I've been rooting since my Captivate in August of last year, I'm still a newbie as well. All I can suggest is: Read, Read, and Read some more. That is how I learned a lot, asking questions only when I had exhausted my search- fu.
A lot of the times the answer you need has been answered by someone in some thread.

[Q] cpu overclock app

hey guys just rooted transformer and now i am try to get my transformer to 1.6 ghz got supporting kernal, now i am trying to figure out how to actually get it to 1.6 i turned to so max says 1.6 now the min is at the bottom is that how i correctly clock it at 1.6 i was thinking i should move min to 1.6 or just under that.
You don't want the minimum to be as high as the maximum as it will be going flat out even when idling.
Make the min as low as it will go and set the maximum to 1.6. The processor will go as fast as it needs to up to 1.6. You can use something like quadrant to see the improvement.

use cpu master and it will do everything you are wanting it to

i tried cpu master did notice any improvement however cpu overclock app i boosted about 1000 points just wondering cause over all i did not see a noticable difference in using such as quickness or whatever

Best OC/UV App?

What do you think is the best OC/UV app ? If so can you also post the recommendations ? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
There's been thousands of posts, not sure of threads, in the forum regarding this.
Tegrak OC seems to be the most popular though. Most tend to stay away from SetCPU.
I personally never OC or UV. I find that my speed and battery life are perfectly acceptable.
Yeah tegrak seems to be what everyone uses. I stay away from OCing though because i don't really see the purpose of OCing just for browsing the web, text messaging, Facebook, twitter, and YouTube. The phones really smooth already. I'm probably going to UV though to get a little better battery life.

You can't oc with set CPU without an overclock kernel
sent from my real Gs move in silence like lasagna
Tegrak Ultimate since it allows OC/UV with a kernel module as opposed to requiring a OC/UV kernel.

What's the difference?

For this phone tegrak is the best with the most control paid version is well worth it
at first this phone relied on overclocking but months later it is no longer needed imo, i just stay at 1000 mhz stock with undervolting and my phone feels as smooth as a 1.2 thank you gingerbread lol

I use tegraq (paid) version to UC.. everything is so smooth now, the UC gives battery life and my quadscore is still in the 2500 range.
TegraK
Hi,
I'm interested only in UV, since my phone is super fast with Valhalla 1.1 ROM
and Adrenaline Shot X, but i drain my battery every day!
can you please explain -
1. can i undervolt using the free edition of tegrak ?
2. do i need to replace the kernel or can i work with tegrak app out of the box?
i didn't get that.
Thanks !
Well I just downloaded Taegrak ultimate, but it seems like my values will never stay ! I tried setting my CPU Lv 0 to 1000,1165,1055 but it'll always revert back to normal. Sometimes I'll catch a glimpse of "Targrak has unexpectedly.."

[Q] oc/uv alternative for SetCPU

As ive been looking arround there is hard to find an app for best oc/uv performance.
I used setcpu for sometime but it kinda slows down whole system. Is it only me or this is common issue? I get much better everyday performance with no-frills
Ok so im currently using nofrills, but it doesnt offer undervolting which id like to achieve.
Anybody knows any alternative for it?
Im using arhd 3.4 with guevors 21.4 kernel
Thank u guys for ur help!
i use Voltage Control
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ontrol&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
I believe nstools is included in the build. If its not you can get that from the market and I believe it does the UV settings.

Best overclock value

Hello,everyone....recently I overclock my desire s and thanks to many of you I received many useful information so I want to share impression how overclocking has improved performance and battery to help other like us to know what and how to use overclocking and governor....
So I start ....
I use Viper saga with tweaked kernel 3.x/ondemand with deadline/cpu min.245-max.1410
I noticed that my graphic is very good and everything works like a charm....for example in FIFA12 I noticed that even the shadow of all player are so intense and everything is so clear,it seems that improves my graphic and my phone is faster..I hope that overclocking to 1410 to not damaged my phone. So what configuration do you have ?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
Set the governor to performance. Battery eater though. But u only can choose better battery life or smoother graphics, so make up ur mind and choose one
When playing with overclocking unstick 'set on boot'. So that it goes back to normal once reboot in case of any freeze. Overclock it based on ur desired value, experiment with it, slowly. increase the value step by step. Leave it for a day then increase again. If it freezes then u know ur phone's limit.

i have read that people say it's stable up to 1.5 GHz.
I have set mine to 1.3GHz to be on the safe side.
And set it to,on demand,so it only takes up more when it needs to.
setting it up to high speeds can result in a melt down, draining batteries and will shorten out the life of your phone even when stable for a couple of days so be aware of what your doing...
there is no best value for everyone, some say 1ghz is enough, some say 1.5 ghz is not enough.
so it depends on what you need, its a trial and error thing
u will get a fast response phone but battery life is sucs ... cant complain though
LOL? :what: how many threads must u made to ask a question? answer can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2092673:D
why not just continue on your thread?

Right now I'm using PACman v19.3 and I can get up to 1.8ghz no lag but battery life can sometimes get a little bit bar but works like a dream on games

What kernel you have?

Never a good idea to overclock CPU more than 1.5 GHZ . That is the maximum stable frequency for our processor.
I use my phone at 1.2 GHZ.

What is the best application for overclock?
for example when I play a game to switch automatically to my desire frequency and governor? Now I have Cpu master but unfortunately i don't have more option for profile ....and is it possible to set frequency to 1300Mhz ?

If you want separate screen on/screen off profiles, I would recommend daemon controller app (with andrev_oc installed through the app).
If you want more profiles for different situations, setcpu is probably the only real option.
Setting to 1.3 GHz depends on the kernel you're using, not on the app.

I think the stable is 1,2~1,3GHz, but u can overclock it up to 1,5ghz but it eats your battery... so be careful!
